MUTANT OLYMPICS '15DATE OOC: January 19-February 15.
DATE IC: January 22nd.
This event is divided into three different challenges. Basically what this means is that the students, during one day, are separated into groups, and have three different "games" that they can join according to their ability.
The school gets the entire week off for preparations (and relaxation afterwards) for this event, and all the events occur on the same day.
Anyone can join the games as long as they are somehow related to the school. You're free to choose one partner of your choice for each of the games, so there's no sign ups required. This is something you guys can decide OOC. You're free to choose if the teammates or opposing partners are NPC's or not (these threads can also be left open).Game 1: RIDDLE ME THISEvent Location: [RMT] Thread Name (Tag)
(mental based)
Thread Name: The Arena
Time: Thur. January 22nd, 12PM-3PM.
During this event, the players need to get through four different floors. Each floor contains a riddle that the players need to solve. Each floor is blocked by a door and the only way to get through it is again, to solve the riddle presented.
Riddles can be solved by;
- Reading the minds of whoever presents the riddle.
- Using an ability on the person presenting the riddle.
- By using their brain and solving the riddle themselves.
- Getting/finding clues around the room as a means to solving the riddle; for example:
- A telekinetic would be able to mentally lift up a key that is in a high place that no one can reach and bring it down to unlock a clue box.
- Could communicate with plants, animals (like a rabbit or little bird), or what have you to find out a clue to the riddle (or if said object heard the answer that could be a way to get it as well)
- They could touch an object to get a hint/answer
- They could even cheat off of the other teams that might be close by (get people to read the other threads in a way)
Once the riddle has been solved, the players can pass through the doors and move to the next floor.
Floor 1 Ridde: Who makes it, has no need of it. Who buys it, has no use for it. Who uses it can neither see nor feel it. What is it? -- A Coffin
Floor 2 Riddle: Which creature walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening? -- Man. He crawls on all fours as a baby, then walks on two feet as an adult, and then walks with a cane as an old man.
Floor 3 Riddle: Which word in the dictionary is spelled incorrectly? -- Incorrectly
Floor 4 Riddle: What can travel around the world while staying in a corner? -- A stamp
Once they solve the riddle they will then have to figure where said object could be found or the area of which the riddle relates to. They will go to that location and receive the next riddle along with a ribbon received upon completing the riddle.Game 2: CAPTURE THE FLAGEvent Location: The Arena
(physical based)
Thread Name: [CTF] Thread Name (Tag)
Time: Thur. January 22nd, 4PM-8PM.
Each team is in charge of their base, which mainly is a station containing a flag that they need to protect all the while trying to steal the other team's flag that they're paired against. Basically, each thread will be two teams trying to figure out a way to win.
Once the flag has been captured, the players need to successfully bring the flag through four different challenges in order to win. The flag has to be placed at the end of the course (at the end of the four different challenges).
Challenge 1: A course of ice has been laid over the ground. The team needs to successfully get across the ice, using their powers to aid them in doing so, but they also need to do this as fast as possible.
Challenge 2: There's a wall blocking your path. Each team needs to climb the wall and get on to the other side in order to get on to challenge 3. But the wall has been powered with electrical energy, and the team needs to find a way to turn off the generators (there's two walls and two generators) with any means possible. Once the power has been turned off, they need to climb the wall and get on the other side.
Challenge 3: The players need to get through a jungle like environment. The environment is covered in vines, trees and plants that block their path. They need to find a way through the blockades by either climbing them, flying or other means. Simply walking past them will not work.
Challenge 4: The players need to successfully move the flag through loops of fire without causing any harm to the flag, all the while getting across a small, unsteady bridge. The loops of fire are lined along the bridge itself. NB; this challenge will not be completed, as during it, the next and final event comes into play.THE FINAL IMAC EVENTEvent Location: Anywhere in the school
Thread Name: [FIRE] Thread Name (Tag)
Time: Thur. After 7:45 PM.
During challenge 4, something happens that causes the fire alarm to ring out, alerting the school that it's on fire. Whether this is practice or not, is unknown to the students. A voice calls out over the announce system, telling everyone to stop what they're doing and step out of the arena, calmly and collected. HOWEVER, it quickly becomes apparent that the alarm started ringing because something went terribly wrong with the fourth challenge, and the school is now on fire, and it's spreading fast.
You can freely play out your characters anywhere in the school, but please, we ask of you that you keep it realistic. The school staff will handle getting rid of it, but if you want one of your characters to be stuck inside a room, or somehow being blocked by the fire, that's completely fine. Just think panic and chaos; no one knows what's going on, and everyone is terrified.
We will host staff run threads to keep the process of the fire itself up to date, so make sure to read those. The related threads to the process of the fire will be posted under this event to make them easier to access by you guys. If you have any questions, you can ask either of the staff members (The related threads will be marked with a P2 in front of the thread title. Example [P2:FIRE] Thread Title (Tag))
