never get caught.
She returned the smile and cooed teasingly, "Aw, you called me Blair." She paused. Good. It seemed like Poppy meant what she said. There was a time when she could easily tell if people were being sincere or not but nowadays were a different story--as with most things, apparently. This time though, she felt in her gut that the older girl was not feeding her a white lie. It felt good.
But something lurked behind those brown eyes. Like that inner fangirl, something seemed to stir underneath that cool facade. Whatever it was, she hoped it was good. Poppy was a complex girl. Even now, Blair did not quite know how her mind worked. I wonder if anybody does.
"I am glad I met you, too, Pops. You did not turn out to be so bad either." She winked and turned to leave.
Only halfway back to the school did she realize she never got Poppy's last name. And vice versa. They were having so much fun that they forgot. It would be hard to find her again--if at all.
Oh well. What always ruined a perfect night? The morning after. That could apply to a lot of things, she supposed. And this morning, in its own way, was perfect.

She watched the girl go. The girl left happily and that made her happy as well. Watching Blair go, she realized something. Something she had a hard time admitting. Being on her own, Poppy prioritized herself. But sometimes, it was not all about her. Sometimes, she was the friend to the main character. The Ron to Kim Possible. The Ron to Harry Potter. Okay, that's a lot of Rons.
Sometimes, it was bigger than her. Meeting Blair, she knew then that it was okay that it was not about her. She was okay. The world did not revovled around her, though she liked to think it very much did. The revealation of how she felt stunned her. Never did she think she would be fine after years of shutting people out. She felt scared to let people in because she thought it would mean her world revolved around them too. Surprisingly, it did not.
With this being said, Poppy was not going to immediately start letting people in. The change started gradually and she would take it one day at a time. Looking at her watch, it showed the day was still early. Perhaps I have time for another prank...
