Blair Bethany Collins
FACE CLAIM: Evanna Lynch
---------------------------------
---------------------------------
AGE: 15 years old (born on September 1st)
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: Bellefonte student
POWER: Superhuman senses
All her senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch) are heightened. She has not learned to control strongly she senses things so most things tend to be overwhelming. She can see small things, far objects, and her sight is sharp (she can even see the almost unnoticeable stain you tried your best to wash)--sometimes she sees too much. Soft noises and whispers can be heard clearly across the room--crowds and loud sounds can be deafening. Everything seems to have a scent to her--perfumes are a pain and they can't mask the real smell. Anything tasty tastes even better--anything that isn't tastes even worse. She can feel heat and cold where most people could not, almost allowing her to detect something coming--she feels everything in the extreme.
LIMITATIONS:
These senses cannot be turned off so they last 24/7. Even if lowered (which is not able to do yet), her senses are still stronger than the average humans. Still, she cannot see microscopic things like particles and atoms. She cannot hear a person's heartbeat unless they are very close to her. She cannot always recognize scents even if she can smell them. The same pretty much applies for flavours and tastes. She cannot feel things from too far and even though she can feel something coming, she has average reflexes.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Everything gives her headaches. Because she cannot turn it off, her mind processes too much. Her tolerance is the same as an average person--she just senses more. She notices too many things, hears too many voices, smells too many chemicals, tastes too much flavour, and feels everything in the extreme. This drives her crazy as well as hurt her sensory organs.
HEIGHT: 5 ft
HAIR COLOR: Ash-blonde (wavy and reaches her shoulders)
EYE COLOR: Bright blue (big)
MISC: She has no tattoos or piercings. She usually wears pants and a shirt--anything comfortable because the rest of the world puts her in unease. She usually ties her hair up, not liking getting in her face. She is most times seen with earphones on to help block out surrounding noise.
PERSONALITY: She generally keeps to herself because her brain is already processing so many things without her deciding how to act so she often looks like she is daydreaming or on edge, fidgeting. Her reactions are odd--she doesn't know whether to point out things she notices and such.
She likes peace and not noticing everything around her. Personally, she likes nature because they rarely make so much diverse noise and if they do (creatures and such), it calms her because she doesn't understand what they're saying--her brain does not need to interpret that. People usually make white noise so she doesn't like that. She fears being too overwhelmed and dreads the day this might happen. Sometimes on bad days, she considers taking drugs that would numb her senses--but she had more pride than to really do so.
SECRET(S): Her middle name is Bethany so her initials are literally BBC. Also, she is ticklish pretty much anywhere.
FATHER: Carter Collins (not mutant)
MOTHER: Amanda Collins (maiden name: Zane, not mutant)
SIBLINGS: none
WORTHY MENTIONS: Arnold Zane (great-grandfather, mutant, superhuman senses)
CHILDHOOD: She grew up in Australia with human parents. She was a happy child who enjoyed most things in life. She excelled at school and sport and had plenty of friends. She had an average life, thinking nothing significant or wild would happen to her and she did not care. She thought herself normal and was grateful. Her family is stable, she excelled in school, and people liked her.
Most people thought her pleasant and fun--your average sweetheart. She enjoyed spending time with people and vice versa. Everything was perfectly ordinary and she was perfectly fine with that. It was stable--no tragedy or wild adventure knocked on her door. Life had its ups and downs but it was no more than anyone else's. This kid was going places.
ADOLESCENCE: She grew up pretty, her grades were still good and she had no problems in her social life. Then puberty came and messed it all up. One day, at school, she started hearing the girls whispering across the room. She saw the ketchup stain on teacher's red shirt. Everything rushed at her that day, giving her a severe headache. She was sent home.
Her parents did not know what to do as she suffered from a continuous extreme migraine, only finding solace in sleep if she was able. She stayed home for just more than two weeks before people from Sir Henry Barnet Academy came for her--telling the family the truth about her genes. She went with them willingly, unable to bear the pain her powers caused. It was there she realized that nature calmed her. She was just getting used to it when her parents decided to send her to the US so she could go to the more prestigious Bellefonte Academy. For the first time in her life, she protested--she liked where she was, she didn't want to have to start all over again. But she had to relent. She was only 15, what else could she do?
ADULTHOOD: N/A
SAMPLE:Blair could not believe what she just heard. The United States? That was an ocean away. They could not possibly be serious. "Come again?" she finally managed to breathe out.
"Yes," her father answered. "Your mother and I asked around the school and found out that there is a school called Bellefonte Aca--"
"I've heard of it. This is about that?" Her jaw dropped. "Dad, I was just starting to--We can't just--"
"We can and we will," interrupted her mother sternly. "What's wrong? I thought you wanted to get better, honey."
"I do--I am. I've just been adjusting. I don't want to go through all that again!"
Her parents looked at each other. Her father sighed. "Sweetie, it'll be worth it. From what we've read--"
But Blair already knew. There was no way she could talk them out of this. She could her their heartbeats--calm--she did not even shake them up. She could see a plane ticket on the table across the room. Only one--she was going there alone, she would have to stay in dormitories. She would have to share a room with other girls--deafened by their giggles and whispers. She was going to foreign land--alone.
