The day started out normal enough. Restless night, waiting for dawn to break so she could leave the dorms and clear her head with some fresh air. This has become somewhat of a daily routine for her. Which was why she was surprised to see someone else up--she rarely did. Even more surprising was that this girl seemed to be flying out a window. In a moment of hysteria, she thought she just saw Peter Pan.
She pressed the edges of her wrists into her eyes. Gosh, she needed some hot chocolate or something--wake her up. Looking back up, she saw Poppy Lockwood was simply floating out through a window. This was still weird because she need not sneak out; students were allowed out this early on weekends. But then she realized that this girl was leaving what she knew to be a school staff member's office. This could not be good.
After snapping a quick photo of the levitating girl, Blair ran up to the suspicious character as she landed on the ground. "What could you be up to? If you're trying to get away with something, I would suggest finding less conspicuous means of travel."

Poppy chuckled. Oh this was too good, had she been caught? She chuckled again at the thought. Slowly, she turned around to face her accuser. Who could it be this time--another student, one of those new comers, or even a teacher? Perhaps it was that new staff member!
The sight of the accuser curled the corners of her lips. She wore nothing distinctive. Just a sweater and a jeans. A camera was clutched in her hand, pathetic. She looked determine--to bust her obviously--and Poppy liked it. She wondered what she could do. Shall she recruit her into the prank? Would her powers be useful?
Poppy had just managed to get out the window before the teacher came in. She heard the news that a new official was coming and thought she'd give a welcome surprise. So she woke eaelier than usual that morning in hopes of getting into her office without being seen. Sure there may have been students milling about but nobody would really pay attention. The academy official was not even in, and Poppy slipped in easily. She did what she had to do. Loosen the bolts under the chair and poured honey around it (on the floor). While she was finishing up, she saw a pair of shoes under the table. It was a hunch that adults keep a spare of clothing, shirt, pants, shoes in their office. Poppy pulled out the toothpaste from her pocket and squirted some into the tips of both shoes. Then she heard voices outside the door and a figure behind the screen of it. Immediately Poppy stuffed what she could into her pockets and threw the rest into the bin. With a simple manipulation of the forces of gravity, she levitated herself out of the room through the open window.
So here she was now in front of her accuser. "Noted." With a mischievious glint in her eyes, Poppy changed her gravitational field to a tree not far to her left. "Catch me," and soon Poppy felt the attraction and she was pulled towards the direction of the tree.

Huh? Blair was confused--why was she laughing at her? Blue eyes narrowed as she frowned. Not being taken seriously always stung but she hated it when people treated her like a child. This girl seemed only slightly older than herself, if at all. Still, she knew that if she pointed this out, she would sound like a whining kid. Being defensive would not help her case so she settled for silent anger.
Then, right before her eyes, the creeper moved in a certain direction. But the way she did it was also weird--it looked like her body was being pulled towards a tree. A literal chick magnet. Curiouser and curiouser. Damn it, she really needed a drink.
"GAAAAAAHH!" The office. Ears perking, Blair looked in that direction just in time to see someone stick their head out the window. She could also see that the official's brown hair was streaked with... a sticky substance? Eyes locked with hers--she inhaled sharply. Shit. Without really thinking, she followed the real perpetrator's lead and ran.

Poppy navigated herself out of the campus grounds and into the parking lot easily. Just like all the other times she made her escapes. Most people took such a long time to register what had just occured and the accuser was no different. Besides, if she did not have superhuman speed or could manipulate gravity as well, it was almost unlikely for the accuser to caught up to her. After thinking she has put some distance between herself and the scene of the crime, Popppy let herself down. The moment her feet touched the ground, the scale of balance in her body tipped. This is the part where she hated about using her powers.
The side-effects.
One of the worst was her inability to adjust to Earth's gravity. Whenever she landed, she would wobble a little which then caused passersby to give her odd looks. Casually, Poppy regained her composure--which took her a while. "At least nobody saw that," she looked around and was glad to see an empty parking lot. With nothing in mind, she walked around the lot aimlessly. Cars, cars, cars...Then a thought occurred. Which one was the new staff's? Poppy wondered as she looked through its windows.

The stranger moved surprisingly fast for someone who looked like they were merely levitating. Though Blair could not hope to match her speed, her superhuman sight allowed her to keep a visual on her--she was not about to let her get away with this. But thankfully, she had also been jogging regularly so she was not too out of breath when she finally did catch up to her at the parking lot. With her heightened hearing, she had heard what the girl said to herself. "Think again, mate." Though she did not know what was so odd with the wobbling. A side effect perhaps? That was nothing to be embarrassed about--but she reasoned one thing from that. The girl was cocky.
"What are you doing now?" she asked, a little exasperatedly. "If you are looking for Doctor Pearce's car, that would be reckless--targetting the same person twice. If you were seen on either scene, it would not take much to put the pieces together." Why was she saying this? This was not the kind of advice she should be giving! She shook her head; she would give the girl a chance. "Best if you admit to what you did--before I do."

Poppy smirked. The accuser arrived after she had searched five cars. There were a number of cars in the lot and she made her way randomly. She was not sure if the staff's cars were labelled or not; she just tried her luck. So far, there were no such luck.
She switched her views from the car to the accuser. "You're right. That wouldn't be smart, if I was actually committing a crime. It's just a welcome surprise...Pretty harmless don't you think?" It was not unusual for Poppy to pull tricks on the academy's staff. Though while she may get in trouble for it most of the times, it never lead her to anything serious like being expelled. She knew how far she could and could not go and loved treading on the thin line dividing the two.
So here she was with her accuser, the one with the determined look. She liked the fact that she had chased after her. The accuser had a task and she set her mind to it. Perhaps recruiting her would not be such a bad idea? The only problem now, Poppy needed to change the accuser from the goody-two-shoes that she was now.
Poppy leaned against the car. "So are you going to tell on me little girl?"

"No," she answered to the first question, "I do not think so." The doctor was a new addition to the school staff but Blair had already heard good things about her from Rylee. She did not want her to be driven away by some random student's idea of fun. Perhaps Blair might need the therapist.
She pressed her lips together at the sound of the pranker's patronizing tone. "Do not call me that," she said as calmly as possible. She knew she was short--she did not need a reminder. "You look no older than me, mate." She racked her brain for any memory of this girl. Damn, maybe if she had not been so distracted by melodrama... She tried to think up something to retort but came up blank.
Sighing, she folded her arms across her chest. To hell with being clever and witty. She was tired and had no muse to be charming. "Well, if it is oh-so-harmless as you say, it would not be a problem for you to turn yourself in. Maybe Doctor Pearce would even appreciate your little... present" The wind blew and she stuffed her hands into her sweater pockets, shivering. "Whatever your decision, actions have consequences."

She observed the accuser throughout her entire "be honorable" speech. Poppy made two deductions.
A. The accuser did not fancy being referred to as a child. B. The accuser had an accent--Australian perhaps?
Silence filled the atmosphere and she realized the accuser had stopped talking. What was it she said? Poppy tried to recall. The girl was defensive when called 'little'. She must have accepted the fact that she was short and would most probably have to live the rest of her life with 'little girl jokes'. Nobody liked to be made fun of their height but in that moment, it was too cute to not to. Besides that, the accuser had mentioned about turning herself in and had finished her speech cleverly with the most over-used line, in Poppy's opinion.
Actions have consequences.
She has heard that line so many times throughout her life. The adults seemed overly keen to remind her that everything she did would affect other people. Well, did they not think she knew that already? Why the hell else did she play tricks? Sure the victims may not liked it--that was why they were the victims right? And yes Poppy knew she may or may not get caught, but that was the thrill of it. It was all a game to her. She loved playing the game and if she got caught, game over, but then a new game begins. That was the never-ending cycle. At least she hoped it would never end.
"I could. Yes, I could knock on her door and go hey, I was the one who trashed your office. Liked the surprise? But what is the fun in that? Take a chill pill, miss-I'm-so-uptight." Poppy looked up to the sky and the weather felt great despite the chill by the wind. She looked at the accuser with her hands stuffed in her pockets. Hmm perhaps there was time for another prank...

There was that tone again. Patronizing. "I am not uptight!" she blurted out. Blair pressed her lips together when she heard her own protest. Gosh, she sounded so defensive. Heat rose quickly to her cheeks. She hated when this happened.
She could not help her height, she came from a long line of short people. She was also born with a small frame but she was working on that! If she looked little now, imagine her three years ago when she did not even think about working out. And her bright blue eyes and sweet-ish face enhanced her "cute" appearence. But being considered uptight? She just cared about other people!
The girl knew she should probably not take it to heart. But being naturally assumed to be a goody two shoes could take their toll on a person if it happened often enough. This good girl thing stopped being true for some time now. Ugh, she felt like Miley Cyrus trying to break out from Hannah Montana. Well, at least Blair was not being criticized for changing. Still, she would do what she always did when someone made a wrong assumption--prove them wrong. "I enjoy pranks as much as the next girl--my idea of them just happen to be different than yours."

"Oh wow, you're adorable, kid." Poppy could not help but snickered every now and then while the girl spoke. Her accuser was defensive and looked like a baby demanding attention. Or respect. She liked what she was hearing. The teasing led up to this moment exactly.
Pushing herself off the car, she came closer to the accuser and towered over her by some good inches. "You enjoy tricks aye?" The accuser gave a single nod. A mischievous smile spread on Poppy's lips as an equally mischievous idea popped into her head. "Okay, why don't we play some, kid?" She walked around the silent girl in circles. "What, scared? Not-in-the-mood?" She was not certain if the accuser was actually considering this or not, but she decided to lay the whole plan out on the table, regardless if the accuser wanted in or out.
"I take it that you don't really like pulling pranks on teachers. I get it. Though maybe one day, if you stick long enough with me, you might just pull one on them. Never mind that, let's focus on the now. Start with something small, ya know like...changing the screen savers in the computer lab? Pretty harmless if you asked me."

never get caught.
She felt her left eye twitch. Kid? This girl really is asking for it. Blair held her tongue though. It seemed she had piqued the girl's interest, so now all she had to do was wait. As she approached, she had to tilt her head upwards to keep eye contact. She nodded. But when she started circling her, Blair did not want to be twisting around so she remained still, firm. She is strategic, I will give her that. She hesitated at the second question and this did not escape the prankster. "I am up for anything you got."
Hearing her opening statement, the smaller girl rolled her blue eyes. Stick long enough with her? Like that would ever happen. But she let her ramble on first. Should she really allow herself to be goaded into a prank? Of course, she was. This would not be the first time either. She exhaled sharply. "Screen savers? Simple enough." Not wasting any time, Blair led the way. "You coming? Whatever-your-name-is?"

The girl sashayed ahead-- well perhaps not sashayed, but she might as well had, Poppy thought to herself. Smiling to herself, she followed the accuser's led. The girl kept her gaze straight, not once did it dart elsewhere. It looked like a girl on a mission. Well she kind of was. She followed behind the girl. "The name's Poppy, stranger."
They made their way through the parking lot and into the school compounds. Poppy thought of the prank they were about to pull. It was simple, quick and easy. Furthermore, it was not life-threatening, so very unlikely to land her in the counselor's office. She figured the accuser might not be thrilled at the idea of chatting it up with a teacher. Throughout their walk, Poppy also thought of what kind of pictures they should use. Topless girls, shirtless men, an ostrich chasing after a giraffe, blue waffles, an academy staff picking his nose? There were various types to choose from. By the time they reached the computer labs, nothing specific popped into her mind.
"Show me what you got, kid."

Poppy... That was a rare name. It was something one heard more often in a film or as a nickname. Perhaps this girl was giving her a fake name--an alias so Blair would not be able to tell on her by name. Nonetheless, this still made it easier to identify her in her head. And since she talked a lot in her head, this was very useful indeed. She wondered how Poppy referred to her in her head. The stick-in-the-mud? The kid? She should probably ease this.
She opened her mouth but then closed it. If I gave her my name, she could blame all this on me. After all, I was the only one seen at the scene. If anything, I am her accomplice now--but she is mine as well. "I am Blair."
Before she knew it, the two were entering the computer lab. It was available for public use for the students so it was not locked. Blair faced the first computer and opened up the desktop settings to get started. "So what pictures shall we use, mate?" She had no personal problems with this prank. It was harmless--unless Poppy wanted to put on some porn or anything illegal, that is.

"Blair," she tested the name on her lips. It was a cute one and thought it suited the accuser her nicely. Luckily for the two, the computer lab was empty so they had the place all to themselves. For how long? That was up to the universe.
"Okay, lets get this party started." Poppy sat down on the chair avaible. No specific idea or theme had revealed itself, so they would have to 'discuss' and made it quick. "Hmm, how about something like 'You can buy drugs in dorm 103!' Gah, I pity whoever's staying there." She laughed at the idea. It would be hilarious especially since dorm 100+ were the academy's staff, if she was not mistaken. "How about one of the teachers picking their nose? I'm telling you, it's nasty."
Opening a browser, Poppy took the keyboard and searched 'blue waffles'. Then thousands of images came out. "This is just not kind to the eyes." She threw her head back and laughed. "So what would it be, Blair?"

never get caught.
She rolled her blue eyes at the first suggestion. Ugh, I knew it. "No, nothing that would involve other people or anything illegal." She did not want cops to investigate anyone. Poppy's next ideas were not very great either. Shuddering at the pictures of blue waffles, she said, "I cannot even tell if that is a vagina..."
Blair pushed the girl aside and typed out "moriarty gif miss me". She did not know why she chose this--most people might not even get her reference. But a fangirl had to fi what a fangirl had to do. And now, she had to make BBC Sherlock's Moriarty the screen saver of every computer in this lab. She did not care if Poppy thought this was not good enough--she liked it. This was her prank after all so why not?
Google knee exactly what she meant. Perfect. In the series, this little gif of Moriarty was broadcasted on every screen of London. It was crazily awesome and the best possible ending to season three. Moriarty was dead so what the hell was this? And the fact that it took so long for the nest season to even come out only enhanced the image.
