Now what the hell was a seventy year old swimming in the lake with not even a single piece of clothing on.
Lola Green had the brilliant idea to spend the afternoon by in the fresh lake water. Since no one else was in the right mind to freeze their nuts off in the not so warm but not that cold either weather, the old woman decided to strip all her clothes off before taking a dip.
It was all going great when a stranger stopped by and made a joke out of it by running away with her clothes! That little devil. Her cries and shouts were a waste of breath because that man was not coming back. Humph!
So in the lake Lola waited for another brilliant idea. Nothing came yet but then a figure came into view. Swimming nearer to the pier, though her chest still underwater, she called out hopefully. "Yoohoo deeaaaryyy. You don't happen to have any spare clothes do ya?"

"It may be pretty but holy shit, why had I thought this was a good idea?"
Tiana had to wonder out loud to herself as she wandered her way towards the water, all bundled up to stave off the chill. She knew it wasn't nearly as bad as it could be considering some of the other days, but it was still chilly enough to make her rethink her sudden decision for fresh air. As much as she loved the kitchen, she wanted to take some time alone to herself. That's where she figured the idea to travel to the lakes had come from. Whether or not that idea was a particularly good one remained to be seen.
"Yoohoo deeaaaryyy. You don't happen to have any spare clothes do ya?"
Tiana froze as she was just getting onto the pier in order to look out over the lake. Her gaze swiftly found the source of the voice, and TIana couldn't help but stare. She was fairly certain her right eye twitched at the sheer absurdity of what she was seeing. For a few moments her jaw opened and closed usually before she shook her hand and decided to actually speak.
"What are- Are you serious!?" She blurted while getting closer to the edge to peer down at the woman, although she did her best not to look too hard lest she scar herself. "What are you doing in there? And naked too?! I've never seen someone so dedicated to catching hypothermia!"
A majority of Tiana's mind was still trying to wrap itself around the image her eyes were feeding back to it. Tiana figured it was cold enough when dry, but seeing someone actually swimming around in a lake in their birthday suit didn't seem like a thing that should ever happen. The only exceptions that came to Tiana's mind were a cold manipulator or someone who was simply insane. Tiana rubbed her face with gloved hands, baffled and yet slightly concerned.
"Before I run back to get you something to wear, where the hell did your clothes even go?" She grimaced at a sudden thought. "Please tell me you didn't run down here naked."

The old woman's lips thinned. She was glad to know there was another being there and that she could finally get some help. But, if that was the kind of response she would receive... "Do I look like I'm kidding deary? You think I make a habit of asking passerby for an extra change of clothes?" Her mouth produced a tsk tsk tsk sound as if she could not believe the girl was asking such a ridiculous question. "And honestly, deary. Are you blind as well? I was swimming and yes nakedly! Hey, it isn't as cold as you might think. Well, it is getting a little cold now," she said in the least cranky tone she could muster up. If that did no work, she threw in a pout as well.
Hey, most humans had a soft spot for little old ladies right?
When the girl sort of agreed into helping Lola out, she threw the pout away. There we go. "Oh, my clothes thoughts to go for a run, ya know? They were a little bored just staying out here. So they thought they'd take a look around and maybe find another owner while they're at it. Or you know, some pervy stranger wanted to sneak a peek at the goods under here!" The old woman exclaimed, chuckling. "And what have you got against public nudity? My body is good enough for all eyes. Would you like to see?" she asked, getting ready to show what was hidden beneath the water.

”I certainly hope not."
Tiana muttered it under her breath, now rubbing her temples. She was still a little befuddled by the whole occurrence.
"And honestly, deary. Are you blind as well? I was swimming and yes nakedly!”
Tiana could feel her eye almost twitch again as the old woman was speaking. Tiana was definitely not blind, but part of her was wishing she could be.
"Hey, it isn't as cold as you might think. Well, it is getting a little cold now.”
Tiana sighed and shook her head, her brain started to actually process the situation she had found herself. She had to smirk just a little at the irony of going to the lake for peace and finding Lola instead. She figured it was just her luck for something like this to happen.
"Oh, my clothes thoughts to go for a run, ya know? They were a little bored just staying out here. So they thought they'd take a look around and maybe find another owner while they're at it. Or you know, some pervy stranger wanted to sneak a peek at the goods under here!”
Tiana raised an eyebrow at Lola’s ridiculous story about her clothes. She could believe someone had stolen the older woman’s clothes, but it seemed like such a childish and stupid thing to do. Although at the same time Tiana was still wondering what exactly had possessed the woman to go skinny-dipping at this time of year anyways.
"And what have you got against public nudity? My body is good enough for all eyes. Would you like to see?”
The offer made Tiana’s eyes widen before she rapidly shook her head and turned around.
”No no no! No, I’m fine thank you! She insisted quickly. ”I’m not into looking at anyone’s junk no matter what they look like, thank you very much. Besides, isn’t public nudity illegal?” She huffed and rubbed her face once more. ”Look just- just stay there and I’ll get you clothes, alright?”
Tiana wasted no time in hurrying back to the nearest location she could get clothes from. She still felt like she was trapped in some strange scene from a comedy. That was the only way she could understand why something so cliche had happened. Soon enough she returned to the lake with a bundle of clothes and even a towel. She set it down on the pier and turned around.
”Alright here’s the clothes. There’s a towel there too. My advice is either hide your clothes next time or don’t do this again.”

Yes, Lola Green thought so as well. It was definitely a childish and such a stupid thing to do. Who stole someone's clothes? Especially an old woman's one! It was not like she was some famous celebrity or whatever. Her clothes were average and not something she bet that made people desire it and just had to have it immediately. Certainly not something that made people steal it. So the granny knew someone was just fooling around and thought it would be one hell of a funny story. Well, Lola was not laughing!
The seventy year old chuckled when her eyes met the girl's widened ones. "Aw, are you jealous that my body is better than yours? Is that why you turned around?" The desire to stand up and bare her chest to the young girl was actually pretty tempting. Oh bad granny. "Haven't you heard deary, it's only illegal or wrong if you get caught," she said with a hint of mischievous in her tone. However, as tempting as it was, Lola stayed in the water and kept her chest submerged underwater. After all, this young girl was planning on helping her. It would do her no good to mortify the brunette and send her running for the hills.
So the old woman stayed put where she was as she waited for her rescuer to return with some, hopefully fitting, clothes.
The corners of her lips turned up when she saw the girl returning back to the pier with a bundle of clothes and a towel in her hand. She chuckled at the advice given. "Oh come on now, deary. Where's the fun in that?" With the other girl facing the other direction, Lola got out of the lake and wrapped the towel around herself. She wiped her wet naked body as best as she could.
"Ya know, I'm surprised you didn't make a run for it, sweetheart."

"Aw, are you jealous that my body is better than yours? Is that why you turned around?”
Tiana nearly whipped around just to counter that little statement that Lola said. She most certainly wasn’t jealous and would’ve given the elder woman a piece of her mind, but she realized that turning around would definitely be a bad idea. So she halted herself and stayed put.
”Like I said I don’t like staring at anyone’s junk! I am not jealous.”
Tiana was definitely not jealous, that much she knew for certain. However part of her knew the old woman was only messing with her.
"Haven't you heard deary, it's only illegal or wrong if you get caught.”
A frown creased Tiana’s face and she was once again tempted to at least turn her head and stare at the woman. Instead she just shook her head.
”Technically I caught you.”
However Tiana wasn’t exactly looking to tell on the woman mainly because that would take far too much effort. Instead she focused on retrieving the old woman some clothes instead. At least Tiana could claim she’d done something good for the day.
"Oh come on now, deary. Where's the fun in that?”
Tiana pursed her lips, but she didn’t say anything. In the end she did admit that it was probably a bit fun to bend or break the rules with something as little as this. Didn’t mean she’d do it herself, especially not in this weather, but she could see a hint of the appeal.
"Ya know, I'm surprised you didn't make a run for it, sweetheart.”
Now that actually made Tiana blink and pause. She huffed and folded her arms across her chest, shaking her head.
”Just because I think what you’ve done isn’t the brightest idea doesn’t mean I’m about to let you freeze to death. I do try to be nice. I’m not some soulless jerk, thank you very much.” She argued. ”As ridiculous as this scene is, shit happens.”
Her lips thinned as she heard the retorts the girl had for her. It seemed like the young girl liked having the last say in everything. Of course, fifty years ago, Lola Green would have retorted back. She would not let another have the last word. Nu uh. So the two would have a little mini banter going on back and forth. But that was if the old woman was fifty year ago. Back to the present, Lola accepted what came her way right then.
Also the fact that she was receiving help as well was a factor into her cranky side not activating. And they could always discuss technicalities another time. Preferably when the seventy year old was not in her birthday suit and fully clothed and decent looking.
Still with her back turned, the old lady continued wiping at her wet naked body as they continued to converse. The corners of her lips quirked up and a small smile formed. The girl was being nice, and she knew she should show her gratitude towards the kind act. "Yes deary, I appreciate you coming back with the clothes. Thank you for pitying the old woman in the lake. You sound...upset. Care to share the shits that happened?"
After drying herself, Lola made a move towards the clothes. She put them on as best as she could. Fortunately, it was a nice long sleeved shirt and a pair of slightly loose snugging sweatpants. "Alright, I believe I look presentable. Say, these don't happen to be yours do they?" She gestured to the pieces of clothing she wore. "Or your mom or grandmother's now would it?"

"Yes deary, I appreciate you coming back with the clothes. Thank you for pitying the old woman in the lake.”
Despite the weirdness of the situation, Tiana felt herself smile a little. Even if she’d been a little rude with how everything played out, she really was happy she could help.
You sound...upset. Care to share the shits that happened?”
Just like that the smile faded from Tiana’s face and she was half tempted to turn her head around. Instead she stared at the ground and bit the inside of her lip, contemplating what to say.
”I’m,” She stated before pausing for a moment, ”Alright. I’d only come out here to get some peace and quiet I guess. School, and all that. It gets to you.”
Tiana had no idea why she was talking about this sort of thing with an old woman who’d come straight out of a lake. She wasn’t exactly comfortable to talk about herself so she kept it vague and brief, but honest. In her own opinion that should be good enough. She wasn’t about to pour her heart out.
"Alright, I believe I look presentable. Say, these don't happen to be yours do they? Or your mom or grandmother's now would it?”
Tiana warily turned around but breathed a relieved sigh when she noticed Lola was actually clothed. She shook her head at the question, smiling a little bit.
”Definitely not mine. I got them from the nearest store I could find, so you can keep them. They hardly cost a thing.”
She wasn’t exactly looking for favors from the elderly woman since Tiana was pretty sure they wouldn’t be running into each other again. Although she figured just in case the impossible happened she should introduce herself. Besides she’d been pretty rude to begin with.
When the young girl vaguely told her what was on her mind, Lola Green felt the concern old woman bubble inside her. Never had children of her own, she quite liked hearing whatever it was they had to say. Although, the granny also knew that kids like the girl's age would hardly talk to old women like Lola. So she kept quiet.
When she was dressed and the two were facing each other again, Lola let out a laugh at the first expression she received from the brunette. It was funny how relieved the girl looked to see the old woman all dressed. Supposed from the sight before, she guessed one would be relieve to see another fully clothed instead of in their birthday suit.
"Well, thank ya deary," she replied, giving an appreciative smile. It was a good thing the clothes were new. Even though she was seventy years old, she did not think she would be all too comfortable wearing another grandma's clothes. Or god forbid, the teenager's. She gave her body a shook, to mentally shake the thought away.
Then the introductions were made. Like all acquaintances started usually. "Tiana, dear, I'm grateful you helped me out even though if it was out your way. I'm Lola," she introduced, taking and shaking the girl's hand.
Although she knew Tiana probably would not want to talk about it, it never hurt to try again. Besides, she was just a concern old lady after all. So screw her earlier thought. "Do you happen to go to that Bell school? Erm what was it, hmm...Ballet, oh yes, Bellefonte! My grandniece attends the academy there. She was a little stressful the first time I visited. What goes on in there that work you kids up so much, huh?"
Post by Tiana Jackson on Feb 19, 2016 14:20:38 GMT -6
”Really, it’s alright.”
Tiana felt her smile growing just a little stronger again. She wasn’t lysing when she said it had hardly cost her a thing to get the clothes. However Tiana felt like that had been the only option. She definitely hadn’t planned on offering her own clothes for a few reasons.
"Tiana, dear, I'm grateful you helped me out even though if it was out your way. I'm Lola.”
When the hand was offered, Tiana only hesitated a moment before accepting the hand and shaking it firmly. She smiled again before dropping it.
”Nice to meet you too, as,” Tiana paused, ”Unique as our introductions were.”
Despite she went to a school for mutants, this was probably the strangest meeting Tiana had experienced for far.
"Do you happen to go to that Bell school? Erm what was it, hmm...Ballet, oh yes, Bellefonte!”
The fact Lola mentioned the very school Tiana had been thinking about made her eyes widen. Instantly she felt herself tense on the inside and her expression fall a fraction.
”My grandniece attends the academy there. She was a little stressful the first time I visited. What goes on in there that work you kids up so much, huh?”
Like water escaping a dam, the tension flowed back out of Tiana’s shoulders. She hadn’t realized how wary she was when Lola mentioned the school. With all the insanity happening between mutants and humans at the moment, Tiana could argue she had a good reason for her caution. She sighed and glanced out over the lake.
”It’s,” She hesitated, unsure of what word she could possibly use, ”Complicated. Which barely even describes half of it.” She rubbed her face in exasperation. ”I’m sure you’ve heard all about the ‘mutant vs. human’ tension around here too? Yeah that only adds to it. Like I said: complicated. Which usually means more stress. Which I really don’t need more of.”

The old lady let out a small chuckle when Tiana labelled their interaction as a unique one. She nodded her head in agreement. 'Unique' was one way of putting it. "You don't have this kind of meetings everyday!" It was the first for Lola Green since she was not the kind to normally run around town in her birthday suit. Judging from the young girl's reaction when she first saw her naked body submerged underwater, the old woman doubted this was not a first for her too.
When she had mentioned the school, Bellefonte Academy, it never crossed the old lady's mind about the whole mutant vs. humans thing. Heck, she had not even known if the girl was a mutant or not. It would have been a sensitive issue if Tiana was touchy about labels and all. The wide eyed reaction she received made her words falter for a bit but Lola then kept on talking about her grandniece that attended the academy.
"Okay, complicated. I get it." The young girl had used the words 'complicated' twice in one seating which Lola took as a sign to not push the matter of what was bothering her any further. So that only left her with suggestions to make. "You know, as stressful as it may seem, don't let it get to you so much, deary. Take a day off. Do something you like. Or drive to another town and just, play paintball or something." She made her way onto the pier and smiled at Tiana as she sat down beside her.

"You don't have this kind of meetings everyday!”
Even Tiana couldn’t help but giggle a little and nod her head in agreement. This had definitely been different for her, although she wasn’t exactly wishing for more introductions like this one.
”You can say that again.”
Once school came up, Tiana subconsciously tensed up a little again. It wasn’t that it was necessarily hard, but Tiana still had mixed feelings on the whole subject. While Bellefonte was great academic wise, she still felt a tad angry she’d practically been forced there. Over the years things had gotten better, but Tiana had a nasty habit of holding grudges and she knew it.
"Okay, complicated. I get it.”
Tiana glanced at Lola and gave her a small smile. She knew her words were a little rude but she could help it; it was her nature.
"You know, as stressful as it may seem, don't let it get to you so much, deary. Take a day off. Do something you like. Or drive to another town and just, play paintball or something.”
Now Tiana definitely couldn’t keep from laughing as Lola gave her advice. She shook her head but flashed the woman a stronger, faintly lopsided smile before looking out over the lake again.
”Now that would be something. I’ve never played paintball before.” She admitted with a shrug. ”Although I get what you’re saying. ‘Take a load off’ and all that. I guess I should.” She rubbed her face again and sighed. ”I probably shouldn’t let things get to me either. It’s hard though.” She didn't like admitting it, but it was the truth. "Guess it's just part of my nature huh?"
The laughter she received from the young girl brought a warm smile on the seventy year old's face. It gave her a satisfied feeling that she managed to get the girl to laugh and relax a little especially with how stressful and complicated as Tiana described how things were in her life at the moment. Looking at the young brunette, Lola Green felt nostalgic.
"You know deary, I was a little like you back then like fifty years ago," she said, chuckling at how long it had been. "It was a little stressful, you can say. But that was because I tried to excel in everything. I'd be cracking my brains in books and just exert myself to no end really. I guess that's what high school is like, yeah? Anyway, coming into college, I kept it up. Work and work and work. You can't find me anywhere else except for the library or in my dorm! But then, I met someone..." A smile crept onto her lips as she reminisced.
"My late husband actually. He showed me around. It didn't have to always be about work. He showed me the little things in life. Like enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning! I'm not saying deary, you need a man to take the load off. But once in a while, go talk with your friends. Don't keep it hidden. Talk. It'd help with not letting things get to you. They're very good distractions."

"You know deary, I was a little like you back then like fifty years ago.”
Tiana had to join in with the chuckling, seeing it as a lighthearted joke.
But then, I met someone…”
Tiana couldn’t help but grow more and more curious as Lola’s tale went on. In a way it almost felt like she was listening to her own mother tell her a story.
"My late husband actually. He showed me around. It didn't have to always be about work. He showed me the little things in life. Like enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning!”
A smile crept on Tiana’s face, both happy for Lola and amused by the little mention of coffee. It was a sweet story, although Tiana had not missed the way Lola mentioned “late” husband.
"I'm not saying deary, you need a man to take the load off. But once in a while, go talk with your friends. Don't keep it hidden. Talk. It'd help with not letting things get to you. They're very good distractions.”
Tiana smiled at Lola but then looked back at the water. She knew it was sound advice, and to be honest her mother would most likely tell her the same thing. Tiana mulled it over for a bit before silently sighing and glancing back at Lola. A tiny smirk appeared on her face.
”You know,” She began, ”When I came out here I never expected to get advice from a naked woman in a lake I had to buy clothes for.” She commented drily, laughing a little at the oddness before her expression settled. ”I get it though. Hell I’m probably just being your typical overdramatic teen, which I hate.” She mumbled the last bit and raised an eyebrow mainly at herself. ”Thank you though. I,” She paused in faint surprise, "Actually feel a bit better after all that. Huh.” She looked back at Lola was a much stronger smirk and a genuine warmth in her eyes. ”Well look at that.”
After retiring from her work, you could say Lola Green had all the time in the world. Well, what else did she have to do? Her husband passed away, and so did her parents. Moreover, she lived an ocean away from her brother and his family. The widowed old lady finally got a break for herself and with all the time in her hands, she spent a lot of them looking back and reminiscing all the bittersweet memories.
Lola laughed at the statement made by the young girl. "Deary, I doubt anyone would even expect that. Naked women aren't common. Especially old naked ladies like myself!" Their whole encounter seemed like something off a book. Never in all her seventy years on this earth did she ever thought she would get caught skinny dipping in a lake. The thought brought another round of laughter out of the old woman.
She gave Tiana a look when she mentioned how she was being an over dramatic teen. "Pfft. Is there honestly any other way than that to be a teen? Don't worry deary, I've got a grandniece about your age and being a teenager myself some time ago, there is no problem with a little dramatic flair," she said, winking. The corners of her lips turned up when Tiana felt better. "You know, deary, there's also another thing that helps." The old lady waggled her eyebrows.
