What A Perfect Day

It was the closes thing to a beautiful day that they have seen since the start of spring this year. And of course, everyone on campus took that advantage. There were students and staff alike enjoying the outside weather with friends or a loved one... and there was Aless, who decided to use her time wisely by studying out in the courtyard.

Or trying to. She was sure she switched to the Forever21 tab on her laptop a bit too much for her own good. Could you blame her? The sales this season were bananas and the temptation to pull out her joint account credit card was almost as crazy. It was a battle she was having within herself. After switching back to her homework tab, her mind went back into Astronomy mode. "A stars continuous spectrum peaks at 700nm and has a luminosity of three solar luminosity..." Mumbling as she highlighted certain parts of her notes within her laptop.

Alessa then noticed a cellphone dropped right next to her as another student walked past. Without thinking, she reached for the phone to hand it off but the girl also reached for it, causing their hands to brush against each other. Her body jerked as if she was taken off guard and her focus stayed still. Sadly, it didn't even take half a second before Alessandra had one of her visions. Something short:

A couple making out? The girl who dropped her phone spotted the both of them and she didn't didn't look too pleased. "I can't believe you, Jason..." Heartbroken even.

Once Alessandra snapped out of it, realizing where she was and saw the girl looking at her... as if she had a booger hanging from her nose. The girl took her phone from Alessa's hand and walked away, Aless on the other hand stood up as her brows scrunched as she pouted. "You're welcome!"

Someone then shouted towards her direction, just not in time. A football then flew in her direction, hitting the side of that hard head of hers. "Ow!"

Another day. The same routine. Only there was a slight change. It was beautiful out. Even Andrew could see the appeal of studying outside. It was warm. Not too hot. Everyone else had the same idea. It was too good of a day to miss. So he headed outside with his things. It would be more open and fresh than sitting in the library. Less stagnant.

Someone shouted. There was a ball, which Andrew barely managed to dodge. Yet it ended up hitting someone else. A girl. His age? It looked like it. "Hey, watch it!" He said, throwing a glare at the ones who'd thrown it. He walked over towards the ball. Towards the girl. It had hit her in the head. With the suddenness of the ball's appearance, even he had to ask. "Are you alright?"

"Hey, watch it!"

Rubbing her head, she glanced towards the direction of the voice. He wasn't the one who threw it? No. Okay good, because Alessa was sure she had a mouthful to say to whoever did it. Dealing with getting hit in the head right after a vision didn't help. If anything, it made her a bit dizzier than usual.

Her attention was then directed to who the guy glared towards. The mutant winced a bit as she tried to rub the pain away. "Barely." Dropping her arm to her side, she tried to regain a better sense of balance. "I should be fine..."

Taking a step forward, she wanted to get a better look at who threw the ball. A few guys standing there, probably waiting for it to be thrown back to them. Alessa turned back to the one who came to her side just now. Her eyes lit up as she patted at the back of her jean shorts for something. "You have something sharp enough to pop a football?"

She seemed dizzy. Dizzier than how most people would be. Maybe she was dehydrated? She responded. Barely. He could believe it from her stance. She was struggling with balance. It was nice for him to get honesty. Different. Most would give the universal "I'm fine" and move on. Maybe it was her personality. Or maybe she was really hurting.

She stepped forward. Stared at the ones he'd glared at. Andrew joined her. They were waiting for their ball. There wasn't even an apology. For all his social incompetence, at least Andrew knew not to do that much. Especially when it was his fault. She spoke up. A question. Did he have something sharp enough to pop the ball. Andrew glanced at her. His lips quirked up ever so slightly. He searched his pockets and pulled out a swiss army knife. "Here. You were the one to get hit." It was only right she be the one to pop it.

They were waiting for their ball, but they wouldn't get it. At least not from this mutant. He had a pocket knife. Good. "What a gentleman." Offering up another smiling, she gladly accepted it in one hand as she held the ball in another.

She could hear them yelling at her from a distance and honestly she didn't give a damn. With a quick jab, she pulled the knife further down the ball, with hopes that she could cut it down the middle. It was tough but not impossible.

Welp, she got somewhere and it was inflated enough to be unusable. Her job here was done. Moving the knife back into its safety position, she handed it back over to the owner. "Thank you kindly." Alessa tossed the football just far enough so that it was out of her sight. If they had a problem, they could come speak to her. Taking a deep breath, she was now relieved.

"Nice day, huh?" Offering him a sheepish smile considering that he probably thought she was crazy right about now. But hey, he offered the knife. He couldn't have thought she was that crazy.
