{OOC Note: Takes place on Valentine's Day, 2018}
The towering apartment complex where one Elizabeth Edison apartment was located never ceased to draw out no small amount of awe in Alex. No matter how many times she visited the lavish building she couldn't help but take it all in with a wide-eyed sense of wonderment. She had to call ahead to be allowed into the building so she knew Liz wouldn't be taken too off guard but there was no hiding the sense of surprise in the blonde's voice as she spoke over the intercom. Yes, Alex had a boyfriend, no they weren't having troubles. Yes she probably should have been spending what was supposed to be the most romantic of holidays with him and yet, here she was stepping out of the elevator on Liz's floor and moving along down the hall, a paper grocery sack clutched to her chest with both hands.
Using her elbow, Alex nudged the doorbell and outside Liz's apartment and waited. It may not have been a planned get together but there wasn't a damn thing anyone could have done to keep her from letting Liz spend Valentine's Day alone. Of course, she would have to admit her cheery demeanor was aided by Ezra's sincere support of the idea. He wasn't Liz's friend but it seemed as though he understood how much she meant to Alex and that was enough.
"Liz!" Alex called impatiently, shifting her weight from foot to foot. "Come on, hurry up!" She let out with a bit of a whine to her voice. "I have to pee!"

Waking up on Valentine's Day without a warm body beside her had surprisingly drawn a lot of emotion from the blonde and at nine in the morning, she was already in a tub of ice cream, still in her Spiderman boxers and a light pink camisole she had printed the words "Bang for Liz" in a purple heart, and crying over what used to be what she thought was a perfect relationship.
It had been almost a year since she broke it off with her fiance and though she knew it was a good thing for her, it still stung that she was alone on Valentine's Day. But it seemed to turn around when she received a call from Alex telling her she was coming over.
Elizabeth cleaned her face up as best she could so Alex wouldn't know she had been crying but chances of her not knowing were slim to none. The girl wasn't as oblivious as other people painted her to be.
When the knock came at the door, despite her early morning breakdown, a cheerful Elizabeth threw the door open to pull her best friend in. The hug they shared was a lot longer than she had anticipated but by the time she let go of the tiny redhead, the smile she had plastered on her face grew even wider.
"Come in come in. What would the neighbours think of you peeing in the hallway?" Elizabeth practically yanked Alex in and let her wander as she closed the door.

Alex did her little dance and went to dart into the apartment the moment the door was opened but she found herself being drawn in to a warm, affectionate hug. "Don't squeeze me!" She blurted out but she soon gave in to the gesture and returned it with a warmth of her own. She peered affectionately up at the blonde and offered a smile, her previous emergency all but forgotten. "How are you?" She asked before pulling away so she could present her bag full of goodies to Liz and set them on the counter.
The redhead's eyes suddenly widened as she became startlingly aware that she really had to pee. "Hold that thought!" She said before darting through the kitchen and into Liz's living room. Brilliant red hair billowed out behind her as she crossed over the living room and charged headlong down the hallway of Liz's apartment. She vanished in a spastic flailing of limbs and red hair. After a few moment's of trying doors something that most people would have found embarrassing dawned on Alex. She sprinted at full speed back down the hall and slid to a stop in the living room where Liz was. Alex had realized she'd never visited Liz's apartment. "Where's the bathroom?"

She wasn't going to lie, having Alex in her arms, looking up at her like that, it made Elizabeth's smile genuine. She laughed when the younger girl started running off before she realised that this was the first time the redhead had ever been in her house. Which meant-
"Just beside the kitchen there." She jerked her thumb in the kitchen's direction and let Alex run off. She went to where Alex had deposited the bag of goodies and was already in the middle of finishing off a bag of Skittles when Alex came back from the toilet.
"I'm good. Skittles? Also what are you doing here? Isn't it like a universal rule that you have to be with your significant other on Valentine's?"

Alex shuffled slowly into the living with a look of near orgasmic pleasure lingering on her face. She let out a long, relieved sigh and crossed over to where Liz was munching away at a bag of Skittles. "Oh my god." She breathed, flopping face first onto Liz's couch. Her arms and legs splayed out, her crimson hair falling about her face. Why she had decided to wait until she got to Liz's before relieving herself remained a mystery. But that was simply how Alex was. Impatient and impulsive.
"Heeeyyyy." She caught the sound of a familiar wrapper crinkling in Liz's hands and twisted around, pulling her face from the couch cushions and turning them to Liz. "Don't eat all of them." Alex pouted and then pushed herself up to a sitting position and brushed her hair out of her face. "Yeah." She replied with a nod. "But we're not doing anything today anyway." She explained with a shrug. "And he gets me every day." A warm, bright smile spread across her face. "And I know this is your first Valentine's Day alone in a while and... well..."
Alex paused, frowned to herself as she thought over her approach to all this and then gave a huff. She got to her feet with a new found sense of confidence and purpose and headed for the kitchen where her bag of goodies sat. "I'll get my time with Ezra." She said, all hesitation now gone from her voice. "You're my Valentine today." She reached into the bag and withdrew a bottle of tequila and turned toward Liz. "How about we get drunk and talk about how much guys suck?"

Rolling her eyes at Alex's antics, Elizabeth joined her friend on the couch, sitting on the smaller girl's butt. "Oops. Didn't see you there." She jumped to the end of the couch and waited until Alex got up to hand over the bag of Skittles. "Don't tell me this is the only bag of Skittles you brought over!" She exclaimed before chuckling at her reasoning behind being here instead of with her boyfriend. It was sweet that Alex chose her over her boyfriend. It made her feel a little guilty for Ezra but Alex did make an excellent point. Ezra did get her every day.
The resolve in the five foot girl made Elizabeth laugh and nod. "Hell yeah you will." She paused. "Hell yeah you are." And another pause before a snort came. "Hell yeah we should!" She held the bag of Skittles up in salute.
"Bring the whole bag here. Let's watch all the romantic comedies and point out all the bullshit." She poured a bit of Skittles into her mouth and waited for her tiny ball of sunshine to come back to the couch.

Alex let out a short, surprised squeak as she was sat on. She pushed herself up to a sitting position and turned her attention up to Liz. The tiny redhead's eyes narrowed at the approaching bag of Skittles and she reached out to snatch it from Liz's grasp and held onto it with both hands. "Of course not." She pouted while reaching into the bag before popping a few of the candies into her mouth and getting up to head to the kitchen.
The grocery bag, including the tequila bottle, made its way into the living room. Alex flopped herself back onto the couch, this time taking up substantially less space than before. "Rom-coms?" Alex said with a brow quirking curiously. That was certainly not her first choice for a good time. At least she knew with Liz they could sit there and get drunk while making fun of the stupid decisions and tropes that seemed to infest the entire movie genre. "Well..." Alex suddenly fell into her 'sly and sneaky' persona. Eyes narrowed and her tone lowered. "We could do that... or we could binge watch Friday the 13th. I have the complete set." It wasn't exactly the most Valentine's Day appropriate thing in the world but who was she trying to impress? It's not like Alex was attempting to romance Liz. If anything she was trying to avoid romance.

Elizabeth laughed cheekily when she saw Alex's pout. "It better not be!" She protested, turning her head a little around as the girl came back with the bag.
Chuckling at Alex's quirked brow, Elizabeth shrugged before it was her turn to quirk her own eyebrow. Alex's sudden demeanour change had Elizabeth perking up a little before she snorted and nodded.
"I haven't watched those in forever. Pop it in." She waved her hand over to the flat screen mounted up the wall. All thoughts of her ex flew out the window as she grabbed the tequila out of the bag of goodies. "Where we're going, we don't need glasses." She held it up in a sort of salute to Alex before she unscrewed the top and guzzled some down.

Alex gave a little giggle and even waved her arms about in excitement. She drastically preferred the mindless bloodshed and wanton violence of the superbly cheesy slasher series over the almost fake sentiment that most romantic comedies attempted to shove down the watcher's throats. With a skip in her step she got the first of the movies started and scurried across the living room back to the couch where she took up her previous spot.
The tiny redhead almost winced at the abrupt manner in which Liz took to the bottle of potent alcohol. Even now it was still a bit startling to see the way the blonde could have had the booze like it was nothing. "Yeah. I think we're gonna need more tequila." She said, smirking as she scooted closer and went to relieve her friend of the bottle before its contents disappeared.

Alex's antics caused Elizabeth to roll her eyes before giggling. She was also as excited as Alex, if not more, that they were doing this on Valentine's Day. It definitely took her mind off the fact that she had spent a good chunk of her morning, mourning over the fact that she was alone.
Elizabeth closed the gap between the two girls and protested when Alex snatched the bottle away from her. "No!" The one word syllable was stretched before she pouted. "Fine. I have my own." She stood up on the couch and stepped off the back and hurried over to the kitchen to grab a few bottles of beer and one new bottle of vodka.
Upon returning, she gave Alex a quick kiss on the cheek as she settled into the couch, making sure there wasn't a gap between them. She'd spent time apart from one of her closest and dearest friends for far too long so she wanted to make up for it now.
She placed the bottles by her side, relishing the coldness radiating off the bottles. Already, the movie was showing something horrible happening on the TV and Elizabeth mindlessly reached for the goodie bag to find something to munch on.

Alex knew better than to make an attempt to match Liz drink for drink but it didn't stop the spunky redhead from trying. Even if her drinks were far smaller than Liz's, Alex did her best to keep up with her fellow pyrokinetic. Unfortunately, by the time Jason Voorhees had used his supernatural strength to crush the skull of an unsuspecting camper, which caused the poor, young man's eyeball to pop out in comical fashion, Alex was hanging upside down over the edge of the couch watching as the credits slowly began to roll. Her fingers had ran through her hair, meticulously spreading it out across the carpet.
"Liiiiiiiz." She cooed from her vantage point near the floor. "The room feels funny."
