"It is one of a kind. Just some of the technological advances really make this place jump out and demand you to notice it." Erin responded back, smiling fondly as she thought about it all. Yes, this place certainly had something special about it. While they were advanced in their technology you could still go to places that were steep in the old ways of their tradition and culture. Erin loved it all, she wanted to stay here again so badly, but knew that she had to go where her farther went and that was back in the states where he had to oversee the branch company over there. So long as they were able to come back and visit like this, she figured she make it. Erin listened as Alex explained how she never been in such a big city before, talking about where she used to come from and places you had to go if you were looking for a big city area.
Erin had been to the state but she had never been to San Francisco specifically, at least not yet. She was sure her father and her would end up there at some point, which brought an idea to her head. "Maybe you can show me around your hometown sometimes." Erin suggested, but she said it softly, half hoping the sound of the city would carry it away but Alex was pretty close to her so it was possible that she heard. "Live in Japan, yes. I came to Tokyo a lot but I mostly grew up in Kyoto. Until I came into my powers and moved to be closer to the mutant school here." Erin informed her. Not worried about the tons of people around them that could possibly here them because everyone was too wrapped up in what they were doing to pay any real attention.
"Where I grew up was nice, a bit mixed as in like...if you went down the street for a good bit you would come to the old style homes with the sliding wooden doors. Then you go the opposite direction for a little bit and it was more of the western homes. Where I lived was a mix between the two so I got a taste of both cultures in terms of the living style." Erin said before looking down for a moment. She didn't really go out and experience her neighborhood, she didn’t have any friends, and she honestly spent most of her time in the house when she was not at school. Even in school she had to take part in activities but even then it always felt like she was never really there, long before she even had the problem with her power.
"I didn't get out much." Erin added after a moment. While she got out in terms of venturing off from time to time; mostly with her dad, she never really paid much attention to what was around her, only to what she was headed for. As for all the people; Erin hated it as well but had actually had a tactic that worked for this situation and by the way Alex was looking up at her, she knew she needed to help her friend out. "Here, I got something to help take your mind off of this." Erin said as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone with the headphones. She didn't hesitate to put both of the headphones into Alex's ears; figuring she could just focus on Alex and be fine with all the people. "Now just close your eyes and listen to the music. When you open them, we will be there." Erin assured Alex with a smile before she pressed play.
A calm relaxing track would soon be playing, one a mix of what you would hear in nature and a woman singing in Japanese. It was one of Hikaru Utada albums that Erin had always listened to whenever she had to deal with situations like this growing up.
