"I'm not a strong person. If I was a strong person, I wouldn't be a killer. That death happened because I was unable to fight my shadows. That being said...why would you offer that to someone you hardly know? I mean...I'm telling you this because you're listening and that's the most anyone's done. But I don't get why you're listening." Morrigan was honestly struggling to understand why.
"I'm not proud of myself because it isn't like I've touched lives with my powers. The only lives I've touched have turned dark somehow. Maybe not directly because of me but...my Clan kicked me out for a reason." She sighed.
"I don't know I just...I can hardly make sense of myself. You're in fact doing a better job."

There was so much more she wanted to say, but it seemed as though her mind was working faster than her mouth ever could. She had managed to somehow allow Morrigan to open up to her and that always was the hardest part. Now the next would be to accept her assistance in the matter.
She found herself shaking her head before she even realized she was doing it. “You are a strong person. Even the strongest person has a moment of weakness, but you can let that determine who you are. Not to mention, but it must pretty hard to keep your walls up all the time. Tryin’ to keep the shadows at bay.” She gave a shrug. Her next question had Callie giggling. “’Cause. I know what it’s like just to want someone to listen. That’s it.”
The more Morrigan spoke the more Callie needed to help her. Her attachment was growing and even if she denied her, she would fight for it. Her smile remained on her face. “Well. Maybe I can help clear all this mess up. Whatdya say?”

Morrigan looked at Callie and she bit her lip. This person was willing to help her. To...help her. She paused just wondering at it, honestly. Then she gave her new friend a weak smile.
"It would be very much appreciated. I don't really have too many friends here. If at all so far. Let alone someone who is offering to listen as you are. I...don't know if anyone's ever done that to be perfectly honest. You might be the first." She sighed.
"And yes, the walls are difficult to keep up. Most of the time I can't. My shadows take over while I sleep. It's quite different that I'm able to keep them back this long. If I see you again and I act significantly different, you'll know why now."

Callie sat quietly for a moment and couldn’t help but to smile when she saw Morrigan smile as well. Even if it was a faint one. The blonde bobbed her head for side to side with excitement as she straightened her back. “Well ya gotta start somewhere. ‘nd I’m glad it’s me. I’ll be the first of many. You’ll see.” She said positively with a cheeky smile.
“I’ll make sure to prepare myself for that. But I’m sure I’ll manage” She gave a quick shrug before standing and grabbing her empty plate. “Maybe we could go ridin’ sometime. If ya like horses that is. And even if ya don’t you’ll learn to love ‘em.” She moved her legs from under the table and pulled out a tiny pen from her back pocket. She scribble her number on the last clean napkin. “If ya ever need me and I ain’t around feel free to call or text. Either works.” Her teeth were showing through her big grin. “I kinda want dessert. Whatcha think?”
