[SF]Fighting Myself, Almost

Franck had been nice enough to take them to a fair before the one they were at now had rolled in. They had a lot of fun and it was most certainly the nicest if only actual birthday present the siblings had gotten in their now seventeen years of being alive. While that had helped their mood a lot, the siblings were still going through a hard time. Trying to understand those around them and why those that they thought cared about them; didn't actually care about them. At least, that was how the siblings felt on the matter. "I don't want to talk about this, Jasper." Casper said in a slightly upset tone with his brother as he pulled on the rope.

"I know, but like I just want to make sure you are okay. You know I will hook you up with someone, right?" Jasper asked his brother as he pulled on another rope. Yes, the two of them were taking a part in one of the tractor pulling events that the fair had set up. The two of them had already agreed to split the prize since they were working together to pull the tractor. Thanks to their power, they were doing pretty good against their competition. They still had other events after this in where they had to pull an even larger tractor. "I'm not worried about it. You are happy in your relationship and I'll be happy being single." Casper assured his brother as they worked together to pull the tractor across the line.

The pulled it off and while they were breathing a little hard, they were fine once they used their inhalers. "Yeah, you say that but I don't buy it. Just let me-" Jasper began to say but got cut off when his brother shoved him away. He stumbled back and while he didn't fall, he did end up bumping into someone. "Hey! What was that for!?" Jasper yelled at his brother, completely forgetting his manner on checking up on who he knocked into as he got ready to fight his brother.

Cassidy had been enjoying the fair so far. He'd played some games, bought a bunch of snack foods, and generally had been having a good time. Until, that is, he felt someone bump into him hard enough to send him careening into a passerby. Said passerby wasn't very happy about being run into, so Cassidy was still rubbing his head from headache caused by the red-aura when a familiar voice stopped him cold, his irises turning a deep black.

Suddenly, in a rush, it was like he was there again; the darkness, the feeling of being restrained, a hissing voice in his ear calling him his little mouse, a toy for the cat, the madness, the anger, the crushing depression, the fear, the pain, the pain, the pain-

Just as suddenly as it came, he was back in the present. He dug his short fingernails into his palms as he breathed deeply, the sharp pain focusing him and steadying his nerves. Cassidy knew he should just get out of there, but he couldn't help but look over at the twins, and was a bit confused at what he saw. It looked like they were... fighting? He was torn between running away and trying to help somehow, and ended up just scooting backwards a little and inconspicuously watching the fight.

"I told you I don't want to talk about it, and you won't drop it." Casper responded back to his brother when he asked why he had hit him. He figured that should have been obvious but while Jasper looked like he got it he was still upset. Jas didn't say anything after that for a moment, debating if he wanted to beat up his brother or not. He knew he was likely to lose since Casper always seemed to figure out what he was going to do and thus he was not able to be that extra step ahead of his brother.

The siblings were caught up glaring at one another that they didn't even notice Cassidy at first, that was until the boy tried to move away as if he had never been there. It normally was easy to spot someone who was making an effort at not being seen. "Mouse is still alive." Casper said, pointing to Cassidy before his arms crossed over his chest. Jasper looked over his shoulder to see who his brother was talking about before letting out a chuckle. Perfect, someone he could take his anger out on and who he knew he could beat in a fight.

"Not very nice to not say anything to someone you know." Jasper pointed out as he cracked his knuckles. "You didn't apologize for bumping into him." Casper pointed out. "You shoved me." Jasper retorted. "True." Casper responded. "Sorry." The siblings both ended up saying together, there that was out of the way.

Cassidy's eyes were still darting back and forth between them and around them at their auras, trying to figure out what was going on, when he realized he'd been spotted. He really wanted to retort that he wasn't a mouse and to stop calling him that, but he was barely managing to not squeak like a mouse in his panic. 

In any other circumstance, he'd be fascinated by the way they apologized in unison. "I-it's okay," he stuttered, much to his frustration. He wasn't doing himself any favors by looking terrified. "You guys looked busy, s-so I figured I'd just leave you alone..." he tried to explain. Cassidy didn't mean to be rude by not acknowledging them, but he would be honestly surprised if they had really expected a greeting. They weren't exactly on the best of terms with him after all.

"So, um, how are you?" he asked, wondering if acting normal would work. Besides, there was clearly something going on here, and as much as he wished it wasn't right then, it was still his responsibility as an empath to help solve interpersonal problems.

The siblings apologized the boy, even if they should have been saying sorry to one another. They were still upset with one another, which was clear by how they were not leaning on one another as they usual did. Still, they didn't like people to know something was up with them so they acted like everything was perfectly fine. Or at least they focused on dealing with someone else which helped take their minds off the problem they were having with one another.

"That’s not very nice of you. Leaving us to fight and beat one another up while you sneak off. Not a very kind thing to do. Shows you don't give a damn." Jasper said as he gave a judging look to the boy. Here he thought the boy’s power was empathy from what he could remember. Yet, there he was running away and not even being very empathetic. For shame. Then again, nothing ever said that someone with the ability of empathy had to be very empathetic, but it was odd not to be.

The siblings both snickered a little when he then asked how they were doing. So he figured he leave them alone but now that he was caught he figured he play nice. "Oh you know, about to beat one another up." Casper said. "You?" Jasper asked. Not that they figured he even cared since again he didn't try to even stop them and last time they met had not gone very well. It probably would have been better if they let him run off like the little mouse they saw him as.
