POWER:
Physical Prime
For us this means that both our bodies are at an extremely high level of physical excellence; having the potential to surpass that of Olympic athletes once we fully settle into our powers. Our mutation allows our bodies to operate at an enhanced level of human conditioning. This simply means that we have can or have the potential to be able to lift objects that are extremely heavy, run up to speeds that would allow us to speed past others, have the stamina to do pretty much anything for longer periods of time than the professionally trained could. We also get the nice little bonus of having all five of our senses sharper, our agility and reflexes are quicker which allows us to have a faster reaction time.
Our accuracy is spot on depending on the distance; we are more durable to be able to take some damage and have an accelerated rate of healing so broken bones and cuts heals faster than for the average human. Oh and we can’t forget about how flexible we are. Basically every physical aspect of the human bodies for us is either beyond or has the potential to go beyond what even the medal winning athletes are capable of. With training we hope to increase our current maximum in all aspects of our power and reach our full potential.
Limitations
-->Even if everything physically about us is at its peak/prime, our minds are not and thus we can’t solve super complex problems and have about the average standard of human intelligence.
-->Our power is greatly effect by the distance apart from one another and we recently figured out that the further we are from one another our capabilities lessen until they would be that of the average capabilities of any normal sixteen year old. When we are standing right next to each other our power works at its current level of power. We found that when we are more than six feet apart from one another our power does not 'work' and as stated before we end up just having the normal capabilities of average teens. We hope with training we will be able to increase that distance.
-->When lifting heavy objects it still causes a strain on our bodies so we can pull muscles and break bones if we try to lift say a tank. At our level right now we can push an average sized car together, with still the risk of strain and muscle pulling. Currently we can only lift up and carry twice our body weights; not as great as what ants can pull off, but we still think it’s pretty cool. It would take training to increase this.
-->When running at our highest level of speed we can run up to run as fast 25 mph, reaching that top speed in under a minute, and keep at that speed for a minute and a half. Trying to go longer than that at top speed results in some pretty nasty side effects and of course we can run for much longer as a much slower speed without having too much trouble. This aspect of our power also requires training to be increased.
-->Like our speed our stamina is pretty high and if we are not exerting ourselves in other categories of our physical prime and doing things at the normal average human level, we can go for about three days without needing to take a break other than to eat, drink, and bathroom trips of course; but no need for sleep or to rest. Going past that would result in a greater increase of side effects and fatigue. Training is required in order to improve this and reach its full possible potential.
-->With our five senses being sharper we can see, hear, feel, taste, and smell things better than the average human but only by a little bit. We can’t spot the tiniest ant walking on a blade of grass if we are standing up, can't taste every ingredient inside cooking, can't hear someone screaming miles away, can’t smell something miles away (thank fully), and well touch is just enough that we could feel a mosquito crawling on us. This aspect of our power can't be increased even with training; it’s already at its full potential.
-->Our agility and reflexes allow us to react and do things faster that we would be able to stop say someone from stabbing us or punching us, but we can’t like see or doge a bullet or arrow. This can be improved with training.
-->In terms of accuracy, we will most likely always get bulls-eye when playing a game of darts (so feel free to make bets with us so we can take your money, we grew up in a circus so of course we have had a hand at throwing knives and firing arrows) but we are not marksmen and it all depends on the distance said target is from us. At our current level we can make field goal kicks, land paper balls in trashcans on the other side of a class room, and full court basketball shots are just examples of our realm of capabilities. It's just because of our ability that we have a higher accuracy overall; this too can be increased with training.
-->We are pretty durable so can take the damage that we are capable of 'dishing out 'without sustaining serious injury. An example being if we were to jump of a three story roof and land on the ground below, many would break their legs while we could end up with just a sprain.
-->Have an accelerated rate of healing does not make us immortal or vampire like; we just heal faster than most people do that’s to the larger number of white blood cells in our body. Where a broken bone takes weeks to heal for one person, it takes maybe a week or a few days depending on the break.
-->As for being flexible, we pretty much can bend in such ways that we are able to get into smaller places and bend in ways that help when dealing with multiple people in say a fight.
Side-Effects
-->Personality melding; in where we act more and more like one another, which already is vastly true (other than our emotions at the moment) However, we sometimes become ‘one’ in the way we think and act. This vastly caused by the fact that our ability is effected by how close we are to one another.
-->Asthma attacks; even with our body having modified to be able to deal with having less need for air at one time and/or being able to store air longer within our lungs, we still are susceptible to really bad asthma attacks. When something other than air getting into our lungs, running for longer then what we are currently capable of, or sometimes at random we have an attack. We always have to carry our inhalers on us and use them before and after running or risk an attack/passing out.
-->Chemical imbalances; due to us originally being a little sorter then our current 6'1" and having our bodies already going through a hormonal state (like all teenagers), we sometimes have to deal with weird chemical imbalances that happen from time to time. These imbalances can sometimes lead to us having a small emotional breakdown where if we feel a negative emotion, it is on the extreme end of things. We even have to deal with odd release times of adrenaline dumping into our systems, which can cause us to get very sick if we don’t do something to burn it off. So if you see us start to randomly run around, that is why.
-->Intense hunger/thirst; since our bodies are at a high level of functioning, you would think it would be able to handle just getting a small amount of food. This is true when we are just being average. If we push ourselves to our peak, after we have to deal with an intense hunger and thirst where we basically eat like two grown men.
-->Physical strain; even if we have not used our power at all that day (highly unlikely) our bodies are very sore and tense by the end of the day. Often resulting in stiff muscles and joints that makes us have to stretch out every night, give one another a quick massage, and take a nice hot shower if we are able to. If we don’t tend to our body every night we start to become physically exhausted to the point that moving takes too much effort or sometimes even hurts.
If our life was to be made into an anime we would need the perfect opening song, we are thinking Flash Back by AKIAKANE. Cue said mentioned song to start playing. The opening of the anime intro song would show a blonde hair woman, a foreigner, heavy accent, and clearly broken English. She has two twin boys. That’s us, Casper and Jasper. We would be around six or so around the time where our mother was dropping us off at the orphanage, broken words about how she can’t afford to take care of the two of us and would hate herself if she only kept one of us with her. Anger and confusion. Jasper running after the broken down care she was in, crying. He was always the one quicker to display emotions out of the two of us. Zoom in on the tears, the clinched fist, the lost boys who could just barley take care of themselves but at least they had each other. Once the opening theme song would end it would be the first episode. We would show us just a few weeks after the drop off, in the orphanage together.
Episode 1: Abandoned! Blonde hair that almost appeared white with grey eyes. We got teased a lot for how 'ghostly' we looked. They said we never be adopted because our poor English and ghostly appearance. You would think people would be into the exotic look. We could not even tell you where our mother was from or who was even our father. Memories of the past just show that woman with blonde hair like us but with dark blue eyes. We could not even confirm for sure if she was in fact our real mother, it was just a feeling...and because she had hair like us and the broken last words of ‘I love you both’. We knew our names, we knew her name; Heidi Emory, but she was gone, vanished off the face of the earth. Could you blame us for acting out as we tried to adjust to life in an orphanage? Could you blame us for pulling mean pranks on those who teased us for how we looked and spoke? Well you could, but it won’t change the past and we personal don’t care how people would choose to judge or behavior. When you only had your twin brother and lost that presence of a mother, it was hard to always be good little boys.
Episode 2: Ghost Boys! The next episode of course would have to be a few years later because the whole orphanage life for three years was pretty much us pulling pranks on those who got on our bad side; and we were good at them. Pulling things off in such a way that it was hard to actually tell that it had been us that even did it. Casper had been the one to mainly come up with the plans. Jasper picked who was on their bad list to get back at. We both pulled of the pranks that were from spilling water on someone, bugs in their food and bed, and even just the usual pranks that dealt with scaring people. Needless to say we had a lot of timeouts in the corner. Yet despite the reports on how we behave someone took an interest in us, a man by the name of Robert R. Ortiz. A very odd yet interesting name that fit the person to who the name belonged. He was older; at least in his forties, had slick brown hair, and brown eyes. Wearing long black boots that zipped up in the sides and clothing that looked like he was about to go out and ride a horse.
This guy had money, and not from those usual high paying jobs, but from being the ringmaster of a modern day circus. We didn't even know they were still a thing at the time and only knew of them because of the books at the orphanage. In the end however he liked how we looked and the fact that we could pull off pranks without anyone having outright proof that it had been us. After a few weeks of some talking and paper work, we got into a car with Robert Ortiz and he gave us the nickname of the Ghost Boys and had big plans for us. Plans to have us be part of his circus crew and put on different acts to entertain the crowds. We should have figured out right away that he was some sort of magic man with that last name of his. He told us to call him Ortiz or R.R.O. and we went with Mr. Ortiz. Casper was thankful to not have to call this man dad. Jasper longed to be able to, but only Casper would know that.
Episode 3: Magic! We did not live in a circus tent! So before you ask, there is your answer. We slept in a little trailer home, one for just the two of us. Casper did not really believe in the whole circus life being a real current deal, but was proven wrong as soon as we arrived. Jasper was eager to live the life of a circus freak, well less of a freak and more of the circus life. Everyone had their own talents and skills, we were to learn various acts and magic tricks in order to wow and please the crowd. Of course we know magic is not real, but an illusions and a tricks. Jasper excelled at the card tricks, while Casper did best with the sleight of hand tricks. We both figured out how to do both of course; since ever since we were young we liked to pull of the old switch routine, it being so easy for us since we looked so alike.
We even were home schooled by one of the woman could fold her own body into a box. A box! Our English improved a lot since we had to be able to talk and please the crowd, our broken accents all but disappearing. We might have only been ten at the time but we quickly figured out the way things worked out and made our circus family proud. Pulling off knife throwing, arrow shooting, hoop jumping, juggling, and even telling a story of shorts in a circus theatrical way.
Episode 4: Closer Look! Now in this point in the short anime series people are most likely wanting to know a little more about the two main characters if they had not been paying attention to the key little hints in the other episodes. So this episode would be a more filler episode in where it looks into first Casper; since he is the oldest by few minutes (and better looking. WE LOOK THE SAME!), and then Jasper. Casper is the calmer of the two, the type that is ready to think first and then act. He tends to be the more forgiving of the two and the ‘shock collar’ for Jasper when he gets to willed up (HEY!).
Jasper is the one that reacts quicker to the emotions he is feeling, ready to say ‘mean’ words or go out with his fist swinging before he stops to ask questions. HE ALLOWS HIS BROTHER CASPER TO CALM HIM DOWN BECAUSE HE TRUSTS CASPER. Calm down with the caps, we are trying to focus on this anime story. …anyways, other than that big difference the two of us are almost one in the same with what you like, don’t like, and how we view people. To make it easy for those a fan of our anime show we would just have a moment where a list of likes and dislikes would pop up as follows:
Likes:
-Anime (obviously)
-Video games (also obvious)
-Magic tricks (we were raised on them)
-Makeup (we still like to put on some like we about to give a show)
-Our toys (meaning those people we feel that are ours to play with)
Dislikes:
-Llamas (one spit on Jasper)
-Bunnies (one nibbled a hole through Casper’s favorite shirt)
-Being apart from one another (one of us is always close by if not right next to each other)
-Depressing people (smile and enjoy life people)
-Broken toys (when our toys end up not being good toys anymore)
As for what we think of other people, well they are kind of like toys. Toys that can be played with and have their minds tricked. People are our audience as well as our source of entertainment sometimes. We love to wow their minds with our different magic tricks we have picked up over the years. That would be it for that episode, and now onto the last one. Why the last one, because we are still alive and have to wait for more things to happen in our lives to add more episodes.
Episode 5: Real Circus Freaks! You know how everyone tends to say something cheesy along the lines of “and from that day on, everything changed”? Well in this case we are not going to say that, because in reality nothing changed besides what we could do and the increase of pride Ortez had. Not regretting adopting us; even if he had never before, now the thought never would cross his mind. It was only a few nights after our sixteen birthdays that while asleep in our trailer we woke up in a lot of pain. Normally people would right this off as a growth spurt or growing pains, but for us this was a lot more painful than that. Our bodies literally were growing at a rapid rate until we were both 6’1” and are already toned bodies (due to our different performances we did) became well ‘ripped’. You could say that we had bods. Not only did we have bods but overall we seemed to improve on a level that was passed normal human capabilities. We could run faster, do things for a longer period of time, lift heavier objects, and bend in ways we had not before. The best way we could describe it would be that we just got an increase in every level a human could be better in, past that of Olympic professionals.
Needless to say these improvements just improved upon the different acts we were able to perform in in the circus. It certainty was a crowd pleased when we could lift a man up or push a car, but we were pretty sure that the best part for the crowd was when we would do some of our acts without our shirts. Ortez soon revealed to us that we were not going through some freak body development but that we were mutants. Not only were we mutants, but so were most of the people working in the circus with us. We didn't fully by it at first, but then when we thought about what the others could do and then everything being explained it made sense. I was a shame they kept that secretes from us, but we should have known something was up with that lady could fit in a box.
We were still welcomed as part of the circus family even more and were informed of all sorts of different secretes. Our ring master also pointed out that we would not be able to stay for much longer, that people from Bellefonte Academy would be coming for us soon so we could learn how to control our powers better. Jasper was not happy about it. Casper was sort of looking forward to finding out more about this place with other mutants that did not live or come from a circus. Either way we didn't really have a choice and a week after we came into our powers and just got done a show, a recruiter was waiting for us. Mr. Ortez did have a quick chat with us while we packed up what we owned. Informing us that he always did see us as sort of his sons, we would always have the circus as our family, and that when we were all done at this Bellefonte Academy that we would be able to return to our lives at the circus if we ever desired to. The episode ends with us packing up what we had into the car and saying good bye to the family that we knew.
Credits would now roll with Reduction by AKIAKANE playing in the backgrounds as a small square of a clip showing us sitting in the car, pulling up to Bellefonte Academy, and taking in what would be our new home and playing ground. Let the show begin ladies and gentlemen. The Ghost Boys are here to entertain and have our own kind of fun.
