Sighing, Evelyn glanced at the man sitting across from her before shaking her head. "As you might be aware of already," she began as she placed her cup of tea down on the table. "My brother has recently come back from his trip to Los Angeles where he spent the weekend with his ex-girlfriend, a certain, Erika Bellefonte." She was aware that Alistair already knew of the girl, and her past relationship with Evelyn's brother. She didn't at all doubt that Alistair shared her dislike of the entire situation, but that was besides the point; this wasn't about them or their opinions. This was about Drew's happiness.
"They have decided to get back together," she added with a roll to her eyes. "As you can imagine, that is tabloid fodder waiting to happen. So." She paused as she leaned forward, her hands folding together on the table. It was obvious that Eve planned to completely leave her personal feelings on the matter out of the conversation. "There's a certain... Issue that needs to be dealt with. Erika is married. If that comes out, that my brother has had an affair with a married woman, it won't look good. Not for him, not for me, and certainly not our parents."
"This needs to be dealt with. Quickly and without anyone knowing - especially not my brother." Eve knew she could rely on the man sitting across of her. He was nothing if not discreet. After all, you kind of needed to be when working with and around the twins. They expected nothing but the best, and anything that wasn't, weren't acceptable at all. She trusted Alistair with her life, which was more than she could say for a lot of people. Her trust wasn't easily placed. "We might not be able to get rid of the gossip, but we can certainly get rid of the proof." She gestured her hand in the air, as if to emphasis her words.
Evelyn wondered at what point she had become the silent force in her family that had taken up the role of protecting everyone and making sure that everything, even the choices her brother made, ran as smoothly as they possibly could. Ah well, she supposed it didn't matter. There was nothing she wouldn't do for him, even if that meant comprising herself and her personal beliefs.
