A Midnight Prowl (Devyn)

[Skylar Blue]

Skylar effortlessly and gracefully stalked around in the nearby forest, her padded feet inaudible to the human hear. She loved the wind against her fur, the eerie silence was soothing.

It was late at night when Skylar decided she needed to get out for the night. She quickly threw on a light jacket that she had no care for, and dashed outside. She sprinted to the forest's edge and changed forms in mid-stride. She let out a purring noise, satisfied that she was improving her powers, she had just changed into a clouded leopard in mid-stride. She ran around the forest edge looking for something, she wasn't sure what exactly she was looking for, she had this weird feeling it was important though. After silently running around the perimeter she went deeper into the heart of the forest to find somewhere to sharpen her claws.

Crack

The sound of a twig being broken echoed in her ears. She immediately looked down as she changed back to her human state, "You've worked so hard to get where you are, yet you still manage to break twigs." she said angrily aloud, completely forgetting that there could be others like her around, or something of the sort. She let out a frustrated sigh as she sat down against a tree, "And now I have changed back too soon..." she moaned, looking down at her sports bra, she let out a soft chuckle as she rested her head against the tree closing her eyes, 'At least I still have shorts on.' She though to herself.

She had lost control, but only for a moment. The moment however was enough that when she did manage to pull the shadows off of her she was in the woods. Damn. Devyn thought to herself as she let out a growl, clinching her fist and punching the tree she was leaning against. The damn nightmares where back and she had slipped up and lost control. Just thankful that she knew she had fallen asleep with her window open and would not have to worry about having to pay for getting her window fixed. She was hungry and thirsty like normal, but not a lot oddly. How odd? She took a step forward and figured out why. A dead rabbit at her feet, having clearly been chewed on by something with horribly sharp teeth. Her other forms' teeth.

She ran a hand through her hair, it was dry. However as her hands moved down to her shirt she felt the wet and still warm blood on it. It matched the scent of the rabbit and she understood why. Another growl slipped out as she just went to walk through the woods, having to move around a bit to get her barring. She could easily see in the night so was not having an issue with that. She was still trying to figure out which was the way out when she heard the stick snap, making her crouch lower for a moment and let out a growl. Then there was a voice, females. What was another girl doing out here so late? Devyn moved to follow the voice, ripping at her shirt so she could get it off of her, not needing to walk up on someone with blood on her shirt.

"Changed back from what?" Devyn asked as she peeked out from the side of the tree the girl had been leaning back against. She could not really help that she did basically stalk up on her; she was just in her shadow beat form so was still slightly in predatory mode. Her eyes drifted over the other girl and a smirk soon appeared on her face. "Don’t you think it’s a bit chilly to be wearing, well what you are wearing? Not that I'm complaining." Devyn said clearing flirting just a little already, could not help it. It was like a natural habit of hers to do it at least once. She herself only had the PJ pants and the white t-shirt she had fallen asleep in. Some of the blood had gotten on her t-shirt, but she didn’t wear bras so she kind of needed to keep that on for now.

Skylar jumped up, and whirled around when she heard a voice, literally right behind her. She let out a growl on accident, unable to hold it back.

"Changed back from what?" the voice asked her.

She scanned the newcomer up and down, 'Friend? Foe?' she wondered to herself. "I changed back from a clouded leopard, much too soon for my pleasing as well." She was crouched a bit, ready to defend herself if need arised.

"Don't you think it's a bit chilly to be wearing, well what you are wearing? Not that I'm complaining." The female asked her.

Skylar's posture grew a bit more relaxed at the flirty comment. She chuckled a bit and grinned at her, "it's not really up to me," she said adjusting her sports bra, "The clothes I wear before I use my powers kind of vanish and I end up in my undergarments." She looks down at herself once more, "looks like my shorts were sparred though." with this said, she looks at the girl in front of her and smirks, "Thank you, you are too kind. You're looking lovely tonight, aswell." Her gaze pauses over the blood in her shirt, "So who was the unlucky victim that had to wake you up on this fine night?" she asked jokingly.

Devyn was pleased by the other girl jumping, since Devyn enjoyed sneaking up on people from time to time and startling them. In fact she did it a lot, if someone didn’t spot her and she was approaching them, she tended to like to try and startle them. The other girl let out a growl and Devyn growled right back, but it was low. She understood that she did startle the other girl so her letting out a growl was understandable, it also made Devyn curious as to what the girl was that she would growl while a human. She didn’t even have to ask as the girl told her about having changed from being a snow leopard. Interesting, not awe shocking or anything since she was use to people changing into animals.

Oh, wonder if we will fight. Devyn thought as she saw how the girl was in a defensive stance, good. She liked to see people ready for anything, but so long as that stance didn’t turn aggressive Devyn would not handle it and make the girl submit. "Clouded leopard are pretty neat. Soft and rarely seen in the wild by the human eye." Devyn said purely going off of what she learned off the discovery channel that she use to watch a lot when she was with her father. Good she is easing up. Devyn noted and found herself not as ready to go for the throat like she had been thinking in the back of her mind. She had just been in her other form so some of the more raw aggression was still there. Devyn would not deny that she might have stared when the other girl adjusted her bra. What?! She liked guys and girls and could appreciate a nice body.

"Well at least you don’t end up naked. Shame." Devyn said keeping her sly smirk on her face, already having sized the other girl up and checked her out. She chuckled at receiving a complement back. "Thanks. This is not really my first choice for a walk in the woods." Devyn admitted as she looked over herself and didn’t even have shoes on, which made sense since she didn’t fall asleep with shoes on. She was relieved that the other girl had not made a big deal about the blood and even made a joke about it. Devyn chuckled for a moment as she messed with her bed head, thinking of how to word it. "A rabbit that just looked too good to not take a bite out of." Devyn went with the honest route. Not wanting to go all morbid and talk about how she killed some hiker, because what if the girl believed her? That could lead to an issue if someone really was dead out here. She get blamed and get in trouble with the school staff.

The other girl let out a growl and Devyn growled right back, but it was low.

'Another person that can change hm?' She thought to herself, 'That would explain how she so easily managed to sneak up on me. I'll have to work on listening more catefully.'

"Clouded leopards are pretty neat. Soft and rarely seen in the wild by the human eye."

Skylar nodded, "Magnificent creatures they are, it thrills me to be one of them." Skylar's face grew hot when she said it was a shame she wasn't nakedshe hoped that the girl couldn't see the comment affect her.

"A rabbit that just looked too good to not take a bite out of."

Skylar smirked, "A rabbit huh?" She let out a small laugh, "Too bad it wasn't a person." She said jokingly, she internally laughs, 'I'm going to hell, I hope she realizes that was a joke.' She thought to herself frowning a bit, 'She probably thinks you're insane now, well done.' She smiled, "So, what is your power? Canine physiology?" She guessed the most common changing power she could think of. "Wolf?" She asked narrowing it down, that's the only dog she could think of that was wild and ate wild rabbits. She ran a hand through her tangled sweaty hair, pushing it all back, she sized her up, 'You can never be too safe...' She thought and gave an tiny shrug, not many would have noticed the movement. She seemed to nod for no reason, 'Yeah, I could probably at least outrun her if I'm unable to match her strength.' Running another hand through her hair, she scratched the back of her head, "So, what brings you out here anyways, just feeling snacky?" She asked casually, she attempted a laugh, "Too bad you didn't save any rabbit for me." She said shrugging, looking around.

"It must be pretty cool. Have you ever held your tail in your mouth while you were in that form?" Devyn asked kind of wanting to know since she remembered a time when she was again watching the Discovery Channel and snow leopard had a tail in its mouth. She also remembered the time she went to a zoo and saw a snow leopard there holding its tail in its mouth. She wondered if there was a point to it, or if the snow leopard just wanted to hold its own soft fluffy tail in its mouth. Devyn was kind of tempted to ask the girl if next time she was in her snow leopard form if she could try holding the girls tail in her jaws. That would look weird, but funny. Devyn thought to herself as she chuckled a little on the inside.

She had been looking at Skylar the whole time so she did catch a glimpse that her comment had affected her. She didn’t know how well it affected the other girl, but she still smirked knowing that her words had gotten to the other girl. She could not help but to laugh at Skylar's comment about it being too bad that it was not a human that Devyn had gotten instead of a rabbit. "A bit morbid there, huh? Why do all the cute girls I meet have a morbid side to them?" Devyn asked her but it was kind of a rhetorical question. Really more of a statement since so far that had proven to be true. Maybe it was just because of the age group. Teens often seemed to be going through a darker time in their life with all those hormones and trying to understand themselves and others around them, so it kind of made sense.

Devyn looked at the girl and blinked for a moment at the girl just went in trying to guess what Devyn's power was. She figured the girl was going off the fact that Devyn had growled, killed a rabbit, and was out late at night. All very good bases to go off of when figuring out what Devyn was. It was only fair to tell the girl really, since Skylar had told her what she could do basically. "Shadow Beast Form is what it is best described as. A wolf being pretty much the closest thing to what I am. Just think now two tails, white eyes, made out of shadows, shadow clouds around me, and a size from a little bigger than a normal wolf to that of the ancient dire wolves." Devyn said giving her best breakdown of what she looked like when using her power and what she was in that form.

Is she sizing me up? Devyn wondered at seeing the other girls eyes on her. Yeah, she had to be...or checking her out, which Devyn was fine with. "Like what you see?" Devyn asked in a teasing tone, her green eyes never looking away from the other girl. Yet she was still alert and listening to the sounds around her. Devyn gave a slight embarrassed chuckle at the question of why she was out here. "Guess you could say my animal side wanted out for a little." Devyn said checking her hand to make sure her dad's ring was still there and gave it a slight rub. "I'm sorry. If you don’t mind raw I’m sure I can take us back to where it was and we can have a snack, but more importantly, what brings you out here? Just out for a good run and let the wild you out for a little?" Devyn asked as she took a step closer to the other girl, just to see what she would do. "My name is Devyn by the way." She said as she offered out a hand to Skylar.

"It must be pretty cool. Have you ever held your tail in your mouth while you were in that form?" The girl asked Skylar.

She nodded, she hadn't seen any other people that could change into cats. This meant that all she went off, was what she saw about them on tv and her own experience, "Yeah, sometimes when I just want to curl up and take a nap, or if it is just itchy. Sometimes when I'm focused and hunting, I'll attack it." she says laughing, a bit embarrassed. Are you really opening up to this girl? You hardly know her... "I'm not sure how common it is though, I have never really gotten the chance to ask others about it." she shrugged.

"A bit morbid there, huh? Why do all the cute girls I meet have a morbid side to them?"

Skylar kicked herself inside, Told you it was a stupid thing to say, a voice called out. Skylar scratched her head again, "Uh-huh, yeah.. sorry." she said trying to awkwardly laugh it off, "It was meant to be a joke... It's a good thing you didn't kill anyone."

She stood their, imagining such a creature, "Wow, that sounds really neat, maybe sometime I could see it. Then, in exchange, I'll show you my leopard," she chuckled, "I will even chew on my tail." Really Skylar? What the hell has gotten into you lately? a voice inside her head asked her. She pushed it to the side.

"Like what you see?"

She smirked, "Only if it is friendly." she said winking at her, "Hopefully that's the case, and with that being said, yeah. Otherwise, how well you managed to sneak up on me worries me." she shrugged, smiling at her.

"Guess you could say my animal side wanted out for a little."

Skylar nodded, "I know that feeling all too well, I don't mind it though, rather, I simply embrace it. I enjoy it as much as possible, at least when I just want to relax. Fortunately tonight wasn't a much of a training exercise."

"I'm sorry. If you don’t mind raw I’m sure I can take us back to where it was and we can have a snack, but more importantly, what brings you out here? Just out for a good run and let the wild you out for a little?"

"As for the raw rabbit, I'm going to have to pass for tonight. As you heard before, I just changed back. It takes a lot to change into an animals so quickly. Then, me being here was just to stretch, I haven't gotten to just run around a lot recently. This is a way for me to simply relax, and as you said, let the wild in me out for a while." she said with a smirk. Hey! Who you calling wild?! The voice echoed throughout her thoughts, she replied to the tone angrily, Butt out for a while, jesus. Can't you just give a girl a break? The voice began to say something back but she pushed it away, ignoring it the best she could.

"My name is Devyn by the way." The girl held out a hand and took a step in Skylar's direction.

Skylar rolled her shoulders in a backwards circle then reached out and shook Devyn's hand firmly, "Skylar." she said with a nod, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Devyn." she dropped her hand back down to her side. "Say," she asked curiously , she paused to look up at the moon, her gaze fell back to Devyn, "You seem to have a handle on your powers, and you look very strong. Would you do me the honor and sometime train with me? We could spar a bit if you'd like," she shrugged, "I'm not sure how you train or if you train but, it would be really exciting to spar with someone."

"That has to be really cute. Never get hairballs?" Devyn asked chuckling a little as she pictured it in her head. She ended up just laughing a little, but in a good way at hearing what Skylar said about her tail. That really was cute, especially the whole attacking part. Devyn was going to have to come across the girl when she was shifted and get a photo of her when she catch Skylar in the act of holding her tail in her mouth or attacking it. Not really for black mail or anything, but just because it was cute and she would not mind looking through her photos and seeing a snow leopard playing with its tail on her phone when she was bored. She was not really surprised about Skylar's openness with her. People just seemed to open up to her; again she assumed it was just the air about her.

Not sure what that air is, but apparently its one of getting people to open up or trusting a little. Devyn thought for a moment, also figuring it might have been that natural charm. "I'm sure you will find someone else here with a similar power and can ask them about it." Devyn had been at the academy for about three years and made sure to know about at least a few people’s powers, most she didn’t really have a care for but others she was greatly fascinated by. Even still, if she was not impressed with someone’s power, it did not mean she would not talk to them again. She also found the person themselves interesting and that in itself could be enough to get her to bother people again. Devyn waved her hand like it was not a big deal about the morbid thing, and it really was not. "No need to apologize. I figured it was a joke. Just pointing out that cute girls seem to be a little morbid." Devyn said and just nodded to Skyler's words about it being good that she didn’t kill anyone. Devyn was more than happy that it was a rabbit and not a person she killed. If she was going to kill a person she wanted to have a point behind it.

"I think that’s a fair deal. I could even show you now. Only problem is that you have to promise not to run. Either stay still or submit, because anything else can uh...set me off." Devyn warned but mostly informed the other girl. She knew herself well enough that she didn’t have full control over her power; even she had some work to do. Heck it was because she didn’t have control over her other form that she was out here in the first place. Devyn snickered, her sly smirk turning a little devious at Skylar's word about hoping that Devyn was friendly. "Well I can say that I don’t bite very hard...most times." Devyn winked back at her, pleased with the playful banter because she did see flirting as all in good fun. Devyn's eyes where still on the other girl, trying to make sure to look at her face and not drift down to that sports bra or over the rest of the girl's exposed body. She kind of mentally checked out of the conversation for a moment as her mind went places but she was quick to bring it back.

"Hmm? Oh right, right the rabbit. I'm sure it will make a scavenger happy with us not eating it." Devyn said as she went to slide her hands into her pockets, but was wearing pj pants, so cant of just hooked her thumbs on the inside her pj pants and boxers. "It’s important to let that wild side out. Question is are you only wild in your other forms or are you wild in this form too?" Devyn asked, that devious smirk not going away as her green eyes looked at Skylar. Clearing hinting at another category, but she would not go into that any further. She shook Skylar's hand firmly before moving her hand back to hooking her thumb between her boxers and pj pants. Yes, boxers were comfier for sleeping in and she often wore them in place of 'girl underwear'. "Skylar, pretty name. Fits you." Devyn said with a nod, watching Skylar still, only looking away to look up at the sky since she figured there had to be something up there, but found that Skylar must have just been enjoying the night.

"Well I'm no master over them, but I have a trainer to help me out with my powers. LeGuy is what I call him." Devyn informed Skylar, raising an eyebrow at the request of wanting to train with her. "Train with you? Sure. I’m better suited to training your body...in many ways. However I can still help out a little with your powers, but signing up with a trainer at the school would be best in terms of powers." Devyn said her smirk turning into a smile, she appreciated the complement and the fact that Skylar had picked up on that she was strong. Kind of had to miss with her well-toned body just out there to see. She worked out a lot and kept in shape. Knowing how to fight in this form and her other form if she needed to. "I would be up with some friendly sparring and training, but question is do you think you can trust someone you just met for that kind of thing? Not worried I might be some bad person that would hurt you?" Devyn asked just for the sake of curiosity, not really planning on hurting the other girl or anything.

Skylar shuddered, "Don't even get me started on those, never as a human though," she places a hand over her chest, "Thank the Lord, never as a human." she made a gagging face, "I feel bad for the poor souls that have to go through hairballs as a human, it doesn't hurt or anything like that, but, they are very nasty things."

"I'm sure you will find someone else here with a similar power and can ask them about it."

Skylar had considered this before, Maybe asking someone about it wasn't such a bad idea after all. she thought to herself, she kind of shrugged, "I could, and I have thought about asking people, but that is something that I do, and if they don't then..." she smiled, "That is something that makes me unique, and I'm ok with that." she states proudly. She let put a sigh of relief when Devyn said that she understood the 'killing a person' thing was a joke, "I'm really not that morbid... Honestly I don't know where that came from." she laughed a bit and continued on listening to Devyn.

"I think that's a fair deal. I could even show you now. Only problem is that you have to promise not to run. Either stay still or submit, because anything else can uh... set me off."

Skylar did a silent victory dance inside her head as she nodded, "If you want to, that'd be wonderful, and I promise I won't run." She let out a soft laugh. She wasn't even sure why she laughed, she was just in an exceptionally good mood tonight, apparently. "You're not going me make me run are ya? Not sure about you but I'm pretty sure a shadow beast is faster than a human." (of course, those without a speed powers) Devyn gave her a sly look and she returned the look, "Only most times hm? That's good, well let's hope that I don't look that tasty, I wouldn't fancy being eating on such a lovely night with such a lovely person."

"It's important to let that wild side out. Question is are you only wild in your other forms or are you wild in this form too?"

"Only if I need to be," she raises an eyebrow, "So you tell me, do I need to be wild?" She says laughing then rolls her eyes. Her face grew warm when Devyn complimented her name, "Why thank you! Might I add that your name, is very lovely as well." Skylar froze when she suggested she should get a trainer, she tried quickly replied to keep the other girl from noticing her freeze up. "I don't do trainers, but thanks for the suggestion." she quickly continued trying to relax as old memories flared. "Trust? Sure, I could trust you. You? A bad person?" she smirked, "You seem pretty solid to me. Then again, I don't know you very well, so then tell me, are you a bad person?" she asked curiously. "As for hurting me, I'd be ok with that, whatever helps me to be more combat ready. Then again, who's to say the same for you?"

Devyn was laughing pretty hard now about Skylar's words about hairballs. It was just too funny to hear someone’s point of view on it. Sure she had heard about it from Kitty, but it just made it even more believable to hear someone else talk about it. She was so happy that she was not cat like. That and the only licking she did were of other people. "I would feel bad for them too. I don’t know if I could kiss someone I knew hurled up a hairball every so often." Devyn said breathing pretty hard as she tried to get her laughter under control. Hands having moved to her sides since they started to hurt, she was not use to laughing so hard. Yeah she laughed, but not like this a lot, so her body was not really use to it.

"I see your point. I know a couple of other people, who have a power over shadows like I do, but I'm on of a kind in what I can turn into and I hope it stays that way." Devyn said being honest because she wanted to be the only one like her out there. Plus it made sense that she was, it was a mutation and no mutations should have been alike because people having different DNA. Twins and people who shared the same blood could have had similar powers, since that would make sense. However she didn’t really see it as a possibility of people growing up in two different areas ending up with the same mutation. "It’s alright. I can get pretty morbid myself and you worked it nicely with the fact that I had blood on my shirt and didn’t freak out." Devyn pointed out, still pleased that the other girl didn’t get all 'omg, blood!'

"Alright, I will then. Just give me sec." Devyn could turn at any moment she wished too, but she wanted to make sure she was settled enough. If she was too worked up and used her power she could lose control easier. That and she had been taken over by her other form not too long ago and didn’t want to risk that happening again right away. "Oh you look absolutely delicious and I'm sure you might enjoy if I did eat you." Devyn said with a wink, yes she went there, because super flirt and wanted to see how the other girl was going to react to that. She did like to see people’s reactions to the things she said, not that she was being dishonest when she said the things she said. Devyn snickered now at Skylar's question if she needed to be wild. "That all depends on you." Devyn said, since that really was the other girls choice, she just had to be ready for what Devyn might do depending on what the other girl did.

"Lovely? Thanks." Devyn said with a slight chuckle because lovely was not really what she would get with her name. People would say it was a nice name, some say it was a boy’s name, and then there were those who said it fit her well. Since it was a unisex name and Devyn could pull off looking like either gender with little effort, but tended to look more like a guy. Devyn looked at the girl, feeling slight change in the vibe she was giving off, but she could have just been feeling the cold air against her skin, causing a slight chill. "Well then I'll just have to be a good sparring partner then if you don’t do trainers." Devyn said, figuring there was a story behind that, but she would not ask about it, not yet anyways. She smiled at being told that Skylar could trust her and it turned to a smirk at the questions. "I can be bad, depends on what specific area we are talking about." Devyn kept her smirk and let out a small chuckle. "That’s kind of kinky, but I'm alright with getting a little hurt. Pain is great for teaching lessons." She gave a small nod as she said this, moving closer to Skylar again so she could walk around the girl and get a full body view of her. Her skin looks soft.

Skylar wiped a tear from her eye, Either I'm hilarious, or her laughter is contagious, she smirked, You're not that funny, trust me. The voice had returned. For then umpteenth time, she ignored the voice and resumed listening to Devyn. Skylar simply nodded when she said that she wanted to be the only one with her powers, "In all honesty, I'm jealous that you have such a unique power. Fortunately for you, I don't think anyone will be able to do what you can do..." She dropped off the sentence, holding back, Unfortunately, nobody will quite know what you have to deal with. she didn't want to ruin such a wonderful night, with a new friend too.

"It's alright. I can get pretty morbid myself and you worked it nicely with the fact that I had blood on my shirt and didn't freak out."

She smirked, "You're not the only one that gets hungry while you're are changed, I've had my own share of bloodied bras." She shrugged, "When you're hungry, you're hungry." Skylar grew excited when Devyn agreed to change forms, she became even more curious and excited.

"Oh you look absolutely delicious and I'm sure you might enjoy if I did eat you." Devyn said with a wink.

Skylar's cheeks turned a bright pink as her mouth opened in shock, and her green eyes widened. Did she just...? She stood there completely taken back, she was speechless. "Uh-hum...maybe..." Were the only things that managed to make their way out of her mouth. Her mind was at a complete loss of words, she wanted to say something back to possibly catch her off guard, but was unable to.

"...nds on you" was all she managed to catch after regaining her composure and began to breath again. When did I stop breathing? she wondered to herself. All she did was shrug and smile at her.

Skylar let out yet another short laugh, "Do you not like your name? If you don't you should." She repeated herself, slower this time "It's, lovely." Skylar stood up a bit straighter as Devyn began moving closer towards her, she kept track of where she was in relation to herself, all while looking straight. "Like what you see?" she said it in this particular way, remembering that she had asked her the same question right after she sized her up went they first met, not too long ago.

Devyn was glad she got her laughing under control because it did in fact hurt to laugh like that. Even more so when your body was sore after a workout, not that she had did on recently. Well she did work out today, she made sure to get in at least one workout each day. It just had been at least a few hours or so since she had done it. "Thanks, I like being the only one. Still, even with people having similar powers, the person themselves makes them a tad bit different. So you could say that you yourself are also special and unique." Devyn said, feeling like her words came out a little weird, but it was the best wording she could do at the moment. Devyn chuckled again at Skylar's words about having a bloody bra. "So did you toss it away after and walk around without one? Or just wait until no one was around to see?" Devyn asked as her eyes did fall down to look at the bra for a moment.

There is the blush. Devyn was smirking once more for a moment when she saw Skylar's cheek's go pink. How Devyn loved to get people to blush. Even better she seemed to shock Skylar so much that the other girl seemed to be at a loss of words, only managing basically a maybe. "Maybe huh? Meaning your up for it?" Devyn asked in a certain tone, but she was fully just teasing the girl. Not that she would be against it, but she was not seeking it or anything. "I like my name, a lot in fact. My dad named me. Just not use to people saying it’s a lovely name." Devyn admitted because she was not really use to that kind of response to her name. She just shook her head and snickered at Skylar repeating that her name was lovely. After fully walking around the other girl, she stopped in front of her and nodded. "I do. You have a lovely body and I bet your skin is really soft." She said with a grin, followed by cracking her knuckles and moved to step back.

"Alright, stand back a little. I'll show you my power. Again don't run and don’t worry, I will try to not use it for too long." Devyn warned Skylar as she herself too yet another step back. It was late out, but the moon still was high and bright so it allowed shadows to be casted, making Devyn's job easier. She took a deep breath before she started to pull shadows towards her. The shadows consuming/covering her as a shadow like smoke appeared around her, closing in tight and swirling around her before spreading out and lingering. When the spoke spread out, where Devyn had been standing was now the little larger than an average wolf version of Devyn's shadow beast form. Her two tails gave a slight wag as her white and soulless eyes looked at the other girl. The shadow smoke that surrounded and lingered around Devyn's general area started to form out letter, her only way to communicate in this form.

"... So you could say that you yourself are also special and unique."

She nodded, "That's a good point, even if people have the same power, the person themselves make it unique." she smirked, "Well said." even if that isn't exactly what the other girl had said, that was Skylar's impression of it. "Toss it away?" she rolled her eyes, "Not a chance, it would be more trouble than it's worth. Not many people are usually up though when I shift."

"Maybe huh? Meaning your up for it?"

She shrugged and smile cheekily at her. She struggled to suppress the laughter building up, she couldn't hold it any longer after the other girl finished talking about her name, she put her hand over her mouth, "I-I'm so sorry, your name is beautiful it really is," she laughed some more. "You're really attractive and all but, I don't think I could go there with you." Not yet at least. she thought to herself looking over the girl again, for other purposes this time of course. She subconsciously ran the back of her hand down her other arm and then held onto just above her elbow, one arm across her body while the other hung by her side. "Yeah, it is actually quite soft, I get it from the soft fur of my powers, it's a nice perk, when my fur is soft at least." She stood in place despite being told to stand back, she was amazed as the shadows seemed to move and rise off the ground into a black smoke. She watched as the smoke swirled around the other girl and became denser, only briefly though. Two white eyes peered at her in the night. She looked more closely as the smoke became thinner, a large wolf like creature stood where Devyn used to be, two tails moved back and forth slightly. Oh my god, I want to pet you. She began to slowly move a hand forward but quickly drew it back as the smoke moved to form letters.

H.I.

"That is so neat!" she said excited, she quickly glanced at the moon with the corner of her eye. Its been a while, maybe I can change too. She decided to wait a bit longer. "Although you're pretty frightening, I kind of want to pet you. Like really badly, would that be ok?" she said chuckling.

[Devyn Solway]

Devyn smiled and nodded, happy that Skylar had understood what she was getting at even if her words were a bit jumbled. She just nodded again, understanding the part about how people would have been asleep when Skylar was shifted. Devyn could turn at any time of day, with or without shadows to pull form. She often shifted at night however because she didn’t really like being out in the sun. Even still she tried not to shift too much unless she was training. After all she had been advised by her trainer to not really shift outside of their training sessions. Thinking of that she made a mental note that she should meet up with him again at some point. She was a bit worried about what he was going to have her do next time. Was he going to play tug-of-war with her or dress her up? She wanted to growl a little just at the thought but didn’t.

She raised an eyebrow at the other girl’s laughter, fine with her laughing and could not help but to smile. Devyn chuckled a little at the girl’s words about not being able to go there. "That’s fine. I prefer for the other person to make the first move. Have to be ready first before someone pleases you." Devyn said simply with a smirk, pulling a loos strand from her pj pants. Green eyes then locked on Skylar for a moment at the girl rubbed her arm and held them both close to her. She did that on purpose. Devyn was sure of it, or at least if Skylar had not done it on purpose it was still pretty cruel. Tempting Devyn like that. Making her want to touch the other girls skin wen Skylar confirmed that her skin was soft. Plus with Skylar standing like that...Deep breath. Closed her eyes for a moment to push thoughts out of her head so she would behave.

In her other form now she looked around for a moment, the words that where there a moment ago went back to being the shadow smoke around her. She gave something of a shake and looked at Skylar, pleased that the girl was not running away or freaking out too much. It was also good that she had asked to touch Devyn first before she did, because if she did not, well she might have lost a hand. Either way Devyn was pleased to hear that she was indeed frightening but at the same time the girl wanted to pet her badly. Devyn had to think about it for a moment but her two tails wagged slightly. In this form her fur did in fact look like fur, except she was cold to the touch, since shadows were darkness and the dark meant cold. So no she was not giving off any heat, but her form still felt and appeared as a normal wolf would. Just with two tails, white eyes with no pupils, everything else black (including her razor sharp teeth and her tongue), and cold to the touch. The shadow smoked moved to form three letters, the maximum Devyn had learned to form at a time.

[Skylar Blue]

She looked into the the being's eyes, mostly caught in their beauty, ever so slightly stunned by fear. Those eyes... Her spine tingled, she remembered her eyes doing something similar when she morphed, rather, the black and white parts merely switched. And those tails... so lucky she has two... She was unsure what it was but this form of Devyn caught her in a trance, she was so taken by how interesting it was, it's beauty yet, it have off a frightening aura. Maybe she'd let me chew on her tails... just play with them a bit. As a leopard of course. Skylar was elated when the wisps of black smoke swirled around and formed a word.

"Yes." she read aloud softly. A smile broke across her face, she took a step forward and slowly inched a hand out in the wolf-like creature's direction. "Nice and easy, nice and easy..." she said soothingly to Devyn. Well, to Devyn but is was mostly for herself, she had to remember to keep it slow. Not only that but she was still unsure of how to feel around Devyn shifted, saying this eased her nerves a bit. Her hand grew colder as she moved closer and closer, spots on her skin grew cold as the lingering smoke brushed against her. She was finally within range of being able to pet her, her hand lingered over the head of the beast.

"You can do this." she mumbled to herself. She relaxed and let the hand drop to it's head, it instantly chilled her hand to the bone, a cold sensation running up her arm and then throughout her body, she shivered a bit, but not from the cold. She began to gently stroke the cold head, she knelt down as she did this, looking at her with her big green eyes, curiously. She made her way down to the neck than began to scratch behind her ears, she had no idea if that was a good idea but it was something she enjoyed while she was a leopard. She rubbed her hand against her cold fur, it was surprisingly soft, despite feeling like was holding her hand on ice. "It's rather soft ya know." she stated as she continued to pet the mysterious creature. She eventually made down the back, she glanced at the two tails, flicking back and forth. She somehow managed to pry her eyes from them and stood up. Skylar gave Deyvn's shift one more scratch behind the ears and stepped back, she felt safe enough that she even turned her back to look out into the trees. She was smiling uncontrollably, "You can change back now if you'd like." She looked down at her hand and rubbed her thumb against her fingers, they were no longer frozen. How interesting. she thought to herself. She turned back to face Deyvn, "Thank you," she said sincerely, "I really appreciate you letting me do that." she said, smiling.
