Devyn loved how she felt practically in control of everything that was going on. It made her inner alpha hold its tail up high and stand tall among any whom around. On the outside however Devyn was still pretty much the same her, which was alpha and aggressive so it made sense. If they had not been in public, if they were in a place where a door could be closed, it would have been a done deal. Devyn would have had something of her way with Zoe. It really was an inner and outer challenge, seeing as she had some lost for Zoe on day one of meeting. Devyn knew that she had desired Zoe for many reason, even Zoe's power was one of the reasons. Devyn liked danger, and Zoe's power was the biggest danger she had met so far. In fact, she wondered if it would affect her beast form. If it did then, she might not be able to show her power to Zoe. Devyn now recalling that when she was with her trainer and how because he could suppress her powers she....

Suppress my power! Damnit! Why didn’t this click sooner?! Devyn was mentally kicking herself now. She had a trainer! His name was Guy and his power was to suppress mutant's powers! How could she forget that! Man was she pissed at herself, so much so that the lust she had kind of went down. She made a mental log to tell Zoe as soon as possible, opening her mouth to say something but Zoe was grabbing onto her shirt and hiding her face. Causing Devyn to chuckle a little. Daww, she is so embarrassed. Devyn thought to herself as she moved a hand to rub Zoe's back to comfort her. "Believe it. They saw and deep down they have been turned on by it. In their heads they are going, that was sexy as hell." Devyn said, well aware that she was making it worse and sent the people that where leering a wink. Then she was being blamed and lightly hit which only made her chuckle.

"Sorry, sorry. To make it up I'll tell you something that you might find interesting, also because I might forget." Devyn said, accepting Zoe's hits as part of her punishment for having forgotten. "I have a trainer and he is able to suppress people’s powers. Bet it might even work on you." Devyn informed Zoe as she rubbed her back still, looking around the shop for a moment. She hoped she didn’t get Zoe in too much trouble, since Zoe had invited her out here. She feel bad if Zoe was not able to come here again. Granted that just mean Devyn have to take her to places she hung out at.

Saw and turned on and... sexy, there it was, said directly. Zoe felt the word slide all the way down her, leaving a trail of goosepimples as it went. Devyn thought she was sexy, and Devyn was most certainly the first person to say so. Zoe flushed with pride at the thought that she could be sexy to someone who, like her, liked other women. There was a hand running over her back too; strange how physical comfort nearly instantly made Zoe feel better.

Suppress... powers? Zoe's brow furrowed and she looked up, more than a little confused. "Suppress powers?" she wrinkled her brow for a moment as she tried to process that. "I'm--surely you don't mean that the school has someone who can cancel our powers?" The sheer incredulity of it struck her as being almost impossible. The school had someone who could cancel her powers and remove this curse that had been weighing heavily on her since before she even got here, and nobody told her? Nobody thought to even casually mention that all she had to do was go up and ask a trainer to just suppress her powers? If Zoe had the option of removing her powers, casting them away, she would do it in an instant.

"I can't believe nobody told me!" she said, her anger evident, the heat of it actually burrowing through her lust. "You're not lying? No, you wouldn't," she said that with absolute faith, reaching to grab her girlfriend's hands. Devyn knew how much this would mean to Zoe, so there was no way that she'd lie about it, not about this. "I just cannot believe that nobody would at least mention that this person exists to me!" she squeezed Devyn's hands almost too hard. Zoe's nostrils practically flared with her anger, and she nearly trembled.

"Yes, they do." Devyn said with a nod, not realizing that she should have elaborated to Zoe that it was not something that last forever. It was temporary. If Devyn remembered it right, Guy had to be looking at her. He even said that it would not always work forever on someone. People got stronger and thus would be able to break out of his suppression. Heck that was the goal that Guy had set for Devyn. She was supposed to avoid using her power outside of her training sessions, which she had not been doing a super good job at. Then when it was time for training she was supposed to gain more control and get to the point when Guy's power would no longer work on. She needed to set up another meeting time with him. She figured he had to be busy, what with the recent increase of new students lately. Was always like this. Kids were always coming in year round since people came into their powers at different times.

Devyn looked at her girlfriend with a slight raised eyebrow at Zoe's tone, wondering why Zoe was getting upset. Why did it matter if someone told her? I really am not all that smart. Devyn mentally face palmed as she again had to step out of her shoes and see how Zoe might have been seeing things. She was unable to leave the school, her power was very dangerous, and here was someone that could take that away for a little. Not forever, Devyn had to make that clear. Zoe questioned if Devyn had been lying and that almost offended her, but Devyn said she would not. She went to say something but Zoe grabbed her hands, Devyn figured she was seeking out comfort again, and she was fine with giving it. He hands were squeezed a bit too hard and Devyn could not really hold back the aggressive growl that slipped out, but she moved to pull Zoe into something of a hug, if Zoe let her hands go, or else it be a very weird hug.

"Hey there, calm down. I was not very clear. It not something that last forever. It’s only temporary." Devyn said wanting to clear that up, feeling at fault for having gotten Zoe worked up a little bit for bringing it up. She figured Zoe would have been happy to hear such a thing. To be able to at least for a moment touch someone skin to skin and not worry about hurting them. "I'm sorry Zoe, I really am." Devyn said letting out a sight. Messing up a lot today.

Zoe's hands released as she felt Devyn pulling her into a hug. She very nearly started to break into frustrated sobs as she felt those arms going around her, pulling her close. It just felt that every time she got a leg up, something had to come along and shove that limb free. Here she finally crossed an important bridge with Devyn, and she was confident that things were going to go well, and this bombshell had to be dropped upon her. The hug felt almost too good in those conditions, and Zoe closed her eyes, taking several deep, calming breaths.

More explanation followed. Zoe heard and sighed, only temporary. How long was temporary? Part of Zoe wanted to ask, but she couldn't be sure that Devyn knew anyway. Plus she didn't want to bother Devyn even further. The other girl seemed upset, which instantly made Zoe feel guilty. That guilt only increased greatly as Devyn apologized; Zoe even flushed again. "Oh, you've nothing to apologize for, Devyn!" she said. "You're being incredible, just, amazing," and she leaned up, lightly kissing Devyn's jaw before blushing and shifting in her seat again. "I'm not mad at you at all; sorry, I, um, probably messed that up," she bit her lip and flushed. "I'm mad at the Academy, not you. It's not as if you had that power," Zoe smiled weakly then, looking her girlfriend in the eyes. "Because if you did, then I imagine we'd have snogged by now, right?"

Devyn made sure to rub Zoe's back and keep her girlfriend close to her. Devyn was very understanding with knowing that a lot of people did best with having a form of physical comfort when they were upset. Devyn was not always good with words when someone was upset, at least she didn’t think she was. So what she could not say with words she said with her body. Hugs and just keeping someone close was what Devyn was best at and she enjoyed it. Really if she didn’t have a hate for someone she probably could give anyone a hug. Devyn glanced around the shop for a moment, pleased to hear Zoe taking deep breaths. Zoe was so good at settling herself down. The school should not have been worried about Zoe, she had pretty good control over herself. Not like she was going to lose her cool and just start to numb anyone who pissed her off. At least Devyn had a hard time picturing Zoe doing it, after all Zoe still seemed worried about touching others.

She is comfortable with me now it seems. Wonder if I can get her to remove her glove at some point. Devyn thought, setting a mental goal. Have Zoe touch her face without a glove, or hold her hand for even a moment. Sure Devyn's hand would go numb, but she still wanted Zoe to be able to experience it, if only a split second. Devyn was up for the risk, in fact she wanted it. How long could her skin touch Zoe's before it became a problem, she wanted to know. "I should have been clearer with how I said it." Devyn was quick to say when Zoe said she had nothing to apologize for, and gave a small smile at the complements Zoe gave her. Devyn gave a soft snicker at Zoe kissing her jaw, but held back what she wanted to say until Zoe was done talking. Wonder if she will start making the first move to kiss me like I like. Devyn thought as she looked at Zoe.

"If I had that power we would have done much more then snogged." Devyn said with a wink, moving to pick up her empty cup so she could throw it away. "You know I had to look that word up? You and your sexy accent. Using words and having to make me look them up." Devyn said in a teasing tone, going to move away so she could throw away her trash. Knowing she was going to end up ripping the cup up and making a mess if she kept it in front of her while she was not really doing anything. When she was still she had to be doing something physically in some way or else she would feel like taking a nap. "I'll have a talk with my trainer at some point for you. Let you get to pet puppies or something when your power is not working." Devyn said, thinking about Zoe surrounded by cute little puppies, able to lick at her face, and cause Zoe to giggle. Not having to worry about hurting anyone or anything.

Nothing like having two people apologize to one another for the same thing. Couples did that though, at least, good couples did, or couples that were just starting out, or maybe good couples that were just starting out did. Zoe didn't really know, nor did she care. She just smiled at Devyn's words, taking them for the apology and acceptance that they were. Not that the arms encircling her weren't already all the acceptance that Zoe needed.

Devyn's next words made Zoe flush again, and she bit her lip, her eyes drifting for a moment, embarrassment keeping her from directly looking at her super hot girlfriend right then. Devyn moved away then, which allowed Zoe to move forward and cup her drink in her hands again. It had gone steadily colder, now more lukewarm than anything. Zoe wrinkled her nose at that, but took another sip anyway. It was mostly gone, so she was getting the creamy bits that usually resided at the bottom of the cup. So yummy, those.

"Oh, puppies!" said Zoe, giving out a decidedly girlish squeal, even raising her hands in a gesture of excitement, her eyes lighting up. "That would be wonderful! They're just so adorable, and so cuddly, but I can't even-- oh," she flushed, biting her lips and looking thoroughly embarrassed again, "I mean, I'd certainly love to, snog, too, with you. I'd be looking forward to that too," a small pause, then Zoe added, "more than puppies," very meekly. It wasn't quite true, since comparing cuddling a bunch of puppies to snogging your girlfriend was a little off in scale, especially if said girlfriend was a risk taker who didn't mind sharing a few stolen kisses every now and then.

Tossing her trash away Devyn made sure to give an apologetic look at the people behind the counter. Since one of them had to have owned the place or at least they all knew the owner. Devyn just wanted to give them a look to let them know she was going to keep herself under control. She really didn’t want Zoe to get kicked out of a place she liked to enjoy. Even more so with knowing now that Zoe could never leave this place. Devyn didn’t want to 'burn bridges' of places where Zoe could go; it would leave Zoe with nothing to do. Devyn personally didn’t mind if a coffee shop didn’t want her in there, she had already been kicked out of a book store because of her...extravaganzas with one person in particular there. Wow, I really do need to work on my self-control in that area. Devyn thought to herself, yes only focusing on the part that she should not do such thing in public places, at least not with someone who was noisy for sure.

"Oh good, you like puppies." Devyn said as she was indeed pleased to find this out, since that was just a guess. She figured Zoe liked cute little animals and come on, how many people didn’t like puppies. Devyn nodded, now having in mind how she was going to ask Guy when she got around to it and he had the time. In the meantime there were still many other things she could do with Zoe with or without Zoe's powers. "Then I'll have to arrange for us to all meet at a pet store or what have you so you can have the entire puppy and any other animal snuggles you like." Devyn said with a pretty big smile, her green wyes looking at Zoe, pleased. She could not help but to chuckle a little and go back to moved closer to Zoe, reaching for her girlfriend’s hands to get her to stand up and be close against her. "You sure you would want to snog with me more than puppies? Puppies are pretty cute." Devyn said in a teasing manner, going to look into the wonderfully brown eyes of Zoe's.

"We can snog anytime you like Zoe. Just make the first move." Devyn said in a whisper, giving Zoe a wink before going to pull away. She could not help but to chuckle because even after giving the apologetic look to the people behind the counter, here she was being super lovey with Zoe. "We might want to leave before we get kicked out." Devyn figured she suggest, not wanting to upset Zoe by ending their date, but she really was having a hard time...behaving herself, even more so with Zoe's words.

Who doesn't like puppies? Zoe was almost tempted to ask, except that she didn't want to know the answer. Because all she could think of was some kind of cartoonish villain sitting in a chair and cackling evilly, and, worst of all, she couldn't help but wonder if Devyn actually knew someone like that. Knowing that there was some kind of shadowy, puppy-hating terror living in the same area as her would likely give Zoe nightmares, well, more nightmares. She certainly didn't need more fuel for that.

Devyn flirted; Zoe blushed; this was more or less how half their conversations went at this point, so Zoe was actually starting to get used to being red in the face. She had a feeling that soon people were going to think that was her natural coloring, or maybe more of the freckles that she got from time to time would appear. Soon she was up, standing, and close to Devyn again. Then Devyn was whispering, which sent shivers down Zoe's spine. She licked her lip, wondering if she'd ever get enough courage to actually initiate a makeout session. Probably not. would it still count if she demanded that Devyn kiss her? She probably had that much courage... no, she definitely had that much courage. Not while her ability was still active though. Just thinking of Devyn going into shocks made Zoe's stomach twist, and that was definitely not good for the sweet drink she had sloshing around down there.

Zoe followed Devyn's look, seeing the people behind the counter. There were decidedly mixed looks there, ranging from "go on, make out now" to "this is a public place, you shouldn't be doing that." It was those latter looks that caused Zoe to look down. she still threaded her hand through Devyn's of course. Then she remembered that she needed to deposit her mug. Unlike Devyn, she'd opted to use the house mugs, which needed to be returned. This did mean walking through the cafe, mug in hand, and depositing it on the counter. Zoe made sure to drag Devyn along with her, mostly because letting go just didn't seem like a very good option about now.

And as she dropped off her mug, she mumbled an apology, something along the lines of "we're sorry" and "we promise not to do that again." The owner, who had come out with this dopey smile on her face, just nodded along, waving and saying to just keep the PDA down to a minimum level. It was the sharp, nearly judgmental look from the barrista that made Zoe feel like scurrying out of there in a hurry.

It always felt good to get Zoe blush, no matter how many times Devyn had seen it or how she would add to it and make her girlfriend redder. She just hoped she didn’t get Zoe to the point of fainting with all the blood rushing to her face. Devyn would make sure to catch her, carry her back to the school even. For a moment Devyn thought about giving Zoe a piggyback ride. However Zoe was not really wearing pants, plus Devyn's hands might just wonder from holding Zoe's legs, to holding her but, to...well Devyn knew that she had the potential to do something very naughty while carrying Zoe. Would Zoe even allow Devyn to carry her on her back? Devyn had to admit she was pretty curious about it now. She played with her black tie in her hand, remembering how she cheated and just slipped it over her head. Do I still remember how to tie a tie? Devyn thought to herself, then feeling Zoe's hands entwine with hers.

"You really like holding my hand huh?" Devyn asked as she smiled at Zoe, giving Zoe's hand a little squeeze and making sure to have a good hold on Zoe's hand. Then she was being dragged, over to the counter. Was Zoe going to make her give a real apology? Apologize for giving them something hot to look at? Pffft, Devyn had respect for authority like figures, but apologizing for making Zoe and herself happy; she would not do that. Devyn let Zoe apologize but was not agreeing or making any promises. How could she? This was Zoe she was with. A girl that she just seemed to connect so well with and had a mix of a drive to look after her like she would her friends, which Zoe was still in a way. However there was that lust and when Zoe would say or do certain things, Devyn just could not help herself.

"We will try. She just tastes so good I can’t help myself." Devyn said pulling Zoe back against her and gave the owner a wink, even if she never really tasted Zoe before, she still was pretty sure Zoe did in fact taste good. Her eyes then drifting over to the barrista who was giving a sharp judgmental look. "Sorry, I don’t want to share her with you." Devyn said in a teasing manner, sticking her tongue out and then quickly moving to get out of the shop, planning on tugging Zoe along and moving fast. Not planning on slowing down until they were a good bit away from the shop. Devyn quickly giving Zoe an apologetic look. "Sorry about that. Slip of the tongue. Let head back and you can beat me up on the way back for pay back." Devyn said with a snicker and leaned in to give Zoe's lips a quick kiss, having been able to feel the kiss for a small moment since her lips were no longer numb, well were...now they were numb again, but still.

Of course Zoe liked holding Devyn's hand, that wasn't going to change any time soon. She'd been craving touch for ages after all. Now though, now it wasn't just a personal comfort thing or even a gesture of affection thing. It was a way of letting the world know that this hot girl that held Zoe's hand was, in fact, her girlfriend. They were together; they were a couple that held hands in public. Hence part of the reason why Zoe had dragged Devyn in front of the various workers and offered her apology together. They were a unit not, at least to some degree, and units did things together. Or something. That was how it worked with the boys Zoe had dated, anyway.

Devyn seemed to be behaving herself.... mostly. Zoe did give her a slight nudge as she teased the barrista. Not that they lingered much longer in the shop after that. Devyn sped away and Zoe followed behind, dragged almost like a dog on a leash. She quickly hurried to catch up with her girlfriend, falling into step so that they walked side by side. It didn't take too long until Cool Beans lay in the distance and they were moving through the Downtown area proper.

"You have to be care--" began Zoe, only to find her lips busy with something far more enjoyable than talking. Again she moved her lips to kiss Devyn back, proving that she was at last fairly adept at the whole kissing thing. When they parted though, Zoe gave Devyn another light punch. "You keep using kissing to make me all--flustered," another little hit, and then Zoe sighed, moving along to walk. She figured they would likely walk back to the school together; Zoe did have homework to do or something. That and what was the saying, "familiarity breeds contempt?" Zoe definitely didn't want contempt for her brand new girlfriend, that was for certain.

Devyn was fine with the slight nudge Zoe gave her back in the shop. It was not what she expected Zoe to do, but she was fine with it. No, Devyn had been expecting Zoe to blush more, apologize a lot to the owner, or just beat Devyn up right there. Granted, Devyn really could not imagine Zoe outright punching her in the ways or real aggression. Only thing Zoe really did was the play hits, which just made Devyn, laugh and find Zoe even cuter. Could someone get cuter? There had to be a stop right? Apparently not for Zoe because each time Devyn could not stop thinking how cute Zoe was, how attractive, how sexy, and how she wanted her. Mind in the gutter. Devyn let out a inward sigh, knowing she had to get better at this whole controlling her self-thing. It was easier with others because people would make moves or something, but Zoe just seemed to like teasing her and not even realize what she was doing.

She figured Zoe was going to say something along the lines of having to be more careful, but having Zoe kiss her back was better. Still sucked that she only feel it for a second before her lips went numb, but for Zoe's sake it was worth it. Plus she already had several ideas of how to get that feeling of touch that she desired from Zoe. "It because I like seeing you all flustered. Hit me harder." Devyn said teasing with a wink, chuckling at Zoe's light hit to her. Holding Zoe's hand and walking close to the other girl, her girlfriend. Their relationship was open; Devyn could handle that for sure. However, she knew how these things worked, at some point Zoe was going to want to be the only one and even if she may never say it, Devyn would surly pick up on it. For now however, she enjoyed the walk back to the school together, making sure to leave Zoe with another kiss before they would part ways.
