It had felt like an eternity since Charlotte had walked the ground of Bellefonte acadamy, when in reality it was perhaps just over a year. The blonde was weary on the dates of when things had happened in those final months, it was all a bit of a blur, but she was sure it was roughly a year since she'd left. Regardless of her time away, the old school still felt like home as she walked the pathway to the reception area; she rubbed her arms softly feeling the hairs on her arms stand on edge.
She reminded herself she wasn't here to train, or learn, or try subdue her gift and that was all behind her now, her gift was gone and she was greatful for it. Her time at Bellefonte as a student was long over but she had tutte's on campus and so it was only a matter of time before she would have to go to them rather than them come to her. So here she was, back at Bellefonte, breathing in the seemingly magical atmosphere that came with the old building.
Returning felt weird, not helped by the fact that Charlotte would have to pass by the admins office to get into the school. Pausing for a moment, the petite blonde pushed opened the door to the reception and poked her head around. Empty she thought for a moment, before stepping further in, clutching the strap of her satchel close to her side. "Hello??" she called out after a moment.

It hadn't taken long for Alex to settle into a routine of confusion and frustration. She didn't mind the work she did in the administration office for Bellefonte and she got along wonderfully with the other girls she worked with. Alex could do the work well enough it simply wasn't a situation she felt she'd ever be able to flourish in. There was something about having to keep meticulous order of the records and files that didn't sit well with her. She drastically preferred helping people at the front desk or answering the phone over being elbow deep in the file cabinets and archives in the back.
Alex was balanced precariously on a step stool, attempting to bring down a thick, heavy file folder. Her tiny frame, even with the help of the stool, made getting anything off the top shelves a chore. The voice that called out from the front desk caused the redhead to jump which resulted in losing a footing. With a squeal she slipped and found herself tumbling to the floor sending papers and documents flying.
"Coming!" Alex called quickly as she pushed up off the floor and got to her feet. She exhaled sharply, letting out a groan of pain and embarrassment. She paused to gather herself, thankful that her tumble had happened out of sight and then hurried out to the front desk. "Sorry!" She said, brushing a stray strand of red hair that had fallen into her face. Alex froze in her tracks the moment she saw the young woman who was waiting patiently. "Charlotte!" She blurted out, her face lighting up with a brilliant smile.

The reception area was homely, clean and modern and unchanged since Charlotte had arrived here just after turning 15. Back then, it had seemed a lot darker and more daunting, but that was 8 years ago and though the reception had scarcely changed in that time aside from perhaps the plant in the pot in the corner and the updated seating. The painting on the far wall was the same one that Charlotte had seen upon arrival the first time to Bellefonte, and though this visit wouldn't be her last, she wondered if the painting would ever change.
Charlotte's attention to the room around her was swiftly cut short by the voice of a woman Charlotte assumed was in the back room. Just as Charlotte went to speak, tell her to take her time and that it was no rush, she heard a squeak and then the sound of rustling papers, accompanied by a thud or two. Frowning slightly Charlotte stepped foreward, attempting to look around the corner, curious and yet concerned as to what had just happened out of sight.
Before she could get in sight of the door leading to the back, a bright red haired woman hurried through the door, apologising for something; Charlotte waited for her to continue but instead the woman stopped in her tracks, beaming brightly as she exclaimed Charlotte's name. Charlotte would have been taken back by that but she too recognised the person on the otherside of the desk as Alexandra Lawson, a former peer of her own.
"Alexandra!" The blonde smiled softly at the redhead, not remembering if she prefered her full name or Alex. Her tone was filled with a pinch of questioning, a small curious frwon forming on her forehead as she studied the former peer behind the desk. She'd been in a few classes with Alexandra, mainly musical theory and though the blonde didn't know Alex too well, she knew that the girl was excitable, if not a tad manic with her happiness at times and so to see her behind the front desk of the reception was a surprise. "What a lovely surprise," Charlotte smiled a little less questioning this time "I didn't know you worked at Bellefonte"

Alex couldn't help but laugh at the inquisitive look she got from her former classmate. It wasn't as if Charlotte was the first person to be surprised to see the manic redhead behind the administration desk of Bellefonte. Hell, Alex herself could hardly believe it at times. It was definitely not the type of environment she pictured herself working in. Still, Alex gave the taller woman a bright smile that lit up her entire face. Alex's brown eyes gleamed pleasantly and she nodded a few times.
"Yeah, it's crazy." Alex freely admitted that with a laugh that was just a little bit too enthusiastic given their location and the circumstances. The diminutive girl, at least, had no problem laughing at herself, even if she was the only one in on the joke. "It beats waiting tables, I can tell you that." She said thoughtfully, exhaling with a huff. "It's kinda weird though, isn't it?" Alex leaned against the desk, propping her elbows up on it as she spoke. She idly tapped the end of her pen against the desktop as she spoke. "Kind of a, uh coming full circle thing, you know? Went to school here and all that now working here."
At this point Alex had long drifted off into her own thoughts and been rendered completely oblivious to the fact that she was actually working. For all intents and purposes the two young women could have been chatting over coffee somewhere instead of standing in an administrative office of Bellefonte Academy. "I thought I remembered hearing you left for a while, right?" Alex asked curiously, turning her eyes up to Charlotte again. "What've you been up to since graduation?"
