The blaring sounds of a rather funky trombone blasted from the music room and into the hallways near it. It was a solidarity trombone, no big band to back it up, but it was being played as smoothly as possible. If someone had poked their head inside they would probably expect to see someone having a good time playing a solo, swinging around with the instrument. This is not the case.
LDR stood loose, not his usual rigid posture, in front of a small mic. He wasn't swinging to ensure the sound was a pure as he could possibly make it. You would normally find him doing something like this, recording pieces of a song by himself and then compiling them. Now, don't get him wrong he'd love to play with other people but...well if you know anything about LDR there should be no explanation. For those of you who don't, LDR can't really do the whole people thing.
He had his eyes closed, headphones blocking out all noise except the trombone.

Alex had finished work but still had some time to kill before Ezra was off and they would venture down the hill back into Kalispell together. With a huff she wandered along the halls of the campus she had called home not so long ago. Every step brought with it the memories of a life that was much simpler than the one she had now. Alex graduated just over a year ago and it felt as if it could have been a lifetime ago.
The tiny redhead hadn't paid much attention to where she was going, opting instead to allow her sneakered feet to take her wherever they pleased. It was no surprise they took her toward the music room. Aside from her dorm Alex had easily spent more time there than anywhere else on campus. The moment she realized where she was the fond memories of countless hours spent among the various instruments and recording equipment either listening to music on her own or having intense conversations about anything and nothing with her friends. It was their hangout, the place they all felt the most comfortable. For old time's sake Alex decided to stop in and see how much had changed.
Carefully Alex pushed open the door and slipped inside. A smile instantly touched her face as she was met with the familiar sound of music. The notes being played seemed to make the room feel vibrant and alive, just how Alex remembered it. She lingered nearby, staying mindful to remain off to the side and behind the young man playing. She was careful to stay out of view and quiet until the piece was over, lest she run the risk of startling him.
