”Oh dear. Maybe I took on a bit too much.”
Lynette mumbled to herself as she walked down the hall, carrying a large stack of books in her arms. They’d gotten new textbooks, so she went to get them in order to put in her room. She’d planned on distributing them to her students the next day. However she probably shouldn’t have tried to carry so many of the books at once by herself. She knew she couldn’t turn back now though. So Lynette carefully made her way towards her classroom, being extra cautious so as to not book one of the books. When she reached her classroom door, it was apparent that she had another problem to overcome. She’d locked it, and right now she wasn’t exactly able to reach her keys.
”Oh confound it!”
As she tried to figure out how to solve her dilemma, she noticed someone else walking down the hall. Hope bloomed in Lynette’s chest at the site of someone else.
”Hello? Excuse me!” She called out a tad desperately. ”Could you please help me? I can’t get in my room and I’m afraid the keys to it are in my pocket. Would you kindly open the door for me? My hands are slightly full.”

Serena had just handed in her next paper for the year, she yawned openly as she strolled through the hallways of Bellefonte, stretching her arms out. She'd had quite a big paper in her bag earlier, and now she felt increadibly light having dropped it off. Almost poetically she saw what appeared to be a fairly young teacher struggling with a door, due to having a giant pile of books.
She smiled brightly and wandered over, she was already about to offer to give the other woman a hand when she asked for the Blonde's help. "Of course I'll help you." She responded in her soft British Accent.
"Which pocket is it?" She queried as she moved to grab the keys that the other woman needed to get into her class room. "That is a LOT of books. Enthusiast, or new text books for the little ones?" She asked in a slightly teasing, but very friendly tone.

”Thank you so much! I really should’ve thought this through better.”
A light blush rose in Lynette’s checks as she recognized her blunder, but fortunately the girl seemed kind enough to assist her.
"Which pocket is it?”
Lynette shifted slightly where she stood, moving her arms away from her left front pocket.
”Left front pocket. Thank you again!”
As she shifted her arms she had to be extra careful not to lose any of her books. Her muscles were beginning to tire from holding so much for so long.
"That is a LOT of books. Enthusiast, or new text books for the little ones?”
Lynette’s blush increased slightly even though she could tell the girl’s tone was kind. It was becoming even more apparent to her how ridiculous she must’ve looked in her situation.
”They’re new text books for my class. I wanted to get them to my room to hand them out by tomorrow. Although I probably should have simply taken more trips to get them here.”
She admitted it sheepishly, but as soon as the door was open Lynette hurried inside. With a groan of relief she put the books down on her desk and slumped into her chair wearily.
”I will never make that mistake again.” She vowed aloud before glancing at Serena and flashing her a grateful smile. ”Once again, thank you! Oh! My name is Lynette by the way. Please to meet you!”

Serena smiled enchantingly in response to the other girl's grattitude. She was sweet enough for a teacher, however her heart sank a little when she imagined how a girl with this demeanour would deal with some of the more trouble some or intelligent troublemakers at the academy. Her mental image was a little grim, they would eat the poor woman alive. Though that was her problem, not Serena's.
She resisted a smirk at the blush, and instead nodded with a firm smile, taking the key's out of the womans pocket and stepping in front of her, pushing the key into the lock and pulling stray hair out of her eyes and behind her ear, glancing back at the woman whilst she turned the key in the lock and gently pressed the door open.
"Yup, or just grabbed a student or not-busy faculty to help you. Some of us ARE actually nice enough people you know." She winked at the other woman. Judging by the other woman's age, she wasn't terribly far out of Serena's own age group, so she couldn't have been a teacher all that long.
The blonde chuckled as the red head put down her books and slumped. Serena leaned against the edge of a table near the front of the classroom as Lynette introduced herself. "Well, It's a pleasure to meet and help you Lynette. I'm Serena, I'm a PHD student." She smiled and held out her hand for the woman to shake.

"Yup, or just grabbed a student or not-busy faculty to help you. Some of us ARE actually nice enough people you know.”
Lynette glanced at Serena as she rushed past into the role. She only responded once she’d put her burdens onto the table.
”I can believe it! I’ve only met nice people since I’ve arrived here.” She said truthfully, sitting up in her chair. ”You’ve all been very welcoming. Thank you.”
Lynette added a sincere smile to the end of her statement. Really, she wanted to thank a good number of people for being so kind to her. She hadn’t run into anyone mean spirited at all since she got to the school. Lynette was starting to think it was a miracle.
"Well, It's a pleasure to meet and help you Lynette. I'm Serena, I'm a PHD student.”
Lynette smiled and took the offered hand in her own, shaking it firmly.
”Likewise! I teach physics, if that wasn’t obvious from my books." She giggled while motioning to the large pile now sitting on her desk, simultaneously dropping Serena's hand. "A PHD student then? Sorry if this is prying, but what made you decide what you wanted to study for? I went into physics because of an old teacher of mine. He made me fall in love with the subject."
