"Damn straight." She nodded with determination at his response, still thinking they were obviously talking about bowling. "I'manna whoop yo ass, swamp rat."
Beau's comment on her form had her pressing her lips in a thin line once more and she rolled her eyes again. "I know I do." She jutted her hips out a little before sticking her tongue out at him. "Okay, we're gonna have to actually finish bowling so get off your butt, South. I want to actually earn my win!"
They continued with a few more sets, much to Beau's chagrin. Adding salt to the wound, Elizabeth won big as a whole and gloated the whole way out of the bowling alley.
"Hey, remember when I made good on my promise to whoop your ass? Oh wait, that was five minutes ago." She chuckled, wrapping Beau's shoulder with her arm, jostling him around a little.
"Alright, where should we go next? I don't wanna go back to campus just yet."

Yeah, Beau pretty much figured that he'd lost. He sort of knew that as he watched Liz get up and bowl. There might have been some hip jutting and lip pursing and other such distracting body language. Though, to be honest, Beau's mind hadn't been on the bowling game since he'd walked through the door.
like everyone didn't already know that.
He did get off his butt and bowled. Tried too, and it showed, for, like, a few more. Then Beau just sort of, well, got focused on other things. Things involving form. though to his credit, his eyes ended up on Liz's face more often than not. He did mention, at least, once, that her smile was her best feature, though he wasn't sure how much Liz actually believed him. That could be a serious drawback when you flirted like Beau: when did a girl know to take you seriously. Beau knew how to move that line, more or less, but he wasn't sure he could here.
He wanted to... ...but did she?
Hand around the arm, and Beau was just gonna pretend that it only got hotter cuz he got closer to the pyrotechnic. "Yeah, yeah, like we didn't see that comin'," drawled Beau, rolling his eyes. What he really wanted to do was kiss her, for some reason. Like, on the cheek or something. He probably could've gotten away with it too. But she was already jostling and offering suggestions, and since this was Beau and it was night time:
"Could hit up karaoke joint," he said, moving to grab his phone and look at the time. Yep, definitely too late for going into the woods and doing something more active (though they had just bowled). "Guess we could go some place for more food, if the chili cheese fries weren't enough," he drawled, looking over at the girl, smirking and poking at her side with a finger.

"We did though." She chuckled before dropping the subject. Gloating was fun and all but it left a weird aftertaste. Besides, who liked a gloater?
Beau's suggestion was met with a huge grin before a snort. Before she could respond to that jab, a physical one occurred on her side which made her squeal.
"Ass!" She yelled out, pulling away and shoving Beau from her with a laugh. "I hate that you know all my sensitive spots. That's hardly fair." She pouted before creeping in close and grabbing his hand in hers. "I ain't lettin' this go so don't go getting any ideas or I'll scorch ya."
Yeah, Liz, that's why you're holding his hand.
"And excuse you, not even a whole cow can satisfy me and it's not even my fault. Genetics. Psht."

Beau just rolled his eyes to the ceiling as Liz gloated yet again. He'd say something, but it was more than a little cute, the whole gloating thing. Even if it wasn't, it was definitely Liz, and, well, we'd already established what was going on there, didn't we?
And he got his revenge when she squealed, so he was considering that a win. Added bonus: she threaded her hand through his. Doubtless this was just so he wouldn't go poking again, but Beau was taking the victory he could. "Hey, ain't my fault you ain't done some explorin'," he drawled, perhaps a little more suggestively than he rightly should have. He flashed Liz another smile and winked a bit. "An' if you try an' make me any hotter, I'm gonna have to do the same to you, an' then we'll jus' both end up all hot an' bothered."
Which apparently exhausted all of Beau's available wit, cuz when Liz mentioned needing a whole cow to satisfy her hunger, he just chuckled. "That mean you want me to treat you to a steak dinner or somethin'? Think there's a few burger joints open nearby too. Could hit up Wendy's again," he chuckled, remembering what it had been like the last time. Hot sauces, cold frosties, laugh and stuff, sounded about like a normal time with liz.
Or, y'know, most of the better dates Beau had been on.

Beau's tease had Elizabeth groaning. That was a little too much like an innuendo than she was comfortable with.
"We're not in the bowling alley anymore, Beau. You don't have to try and get me off my game anymore." She jabbed him on his side playfully but kept herself close to him.
At the mention of one of her favourite fastfood chains, Elizabeth forgot all about his flirtations. "Aww yis." She exclaimed with a huge grin, releasing his hand and started jogging backwards. Her grin turned into a mischievious smirk. "Loser pays for everything." She said before shooting off in the direction of the restaurant, laughing.

Beau took the jab, wincing a little, wincing like a man, since everyone knew that tough guys didn't make noise or scamper away, though both were a little tempting. Liz could poke hard when he wanted, and that poke let Beau know that he'd either hit too close to home or crossed some kind of line. He could take a hint, really he could.
The hand left, taking some of the heat with it. Beau nearly sighed with relief as Liz started jogging backward, though she was, however, still looking at him. Looking and smiling, man, how he loved that smile. Okay, it was becoming a smirk now, but that didn't make it any less appealing. Liz smiled more with her eyes than anything, and that's what Beau focused most on now.
"Hey, I don't remember agreein' to that!" he said halfheartedly, obviously meaning that protest ever so much. He already altered their course so that they were heading toward Wendy's; he'd practically been doing that since they left the bowling alley, in truth. He knew all too well where to take Liz; heck, he knew quite a lot about her, come to think of it, arguably too much.
"You're jus' wantin' someone to pay to fuel that fire of yours, an' I'm gonna have to watch while you take down three of those spicy burgers again," Beau chuckled, shaking his head and remembering. He'd learned the hard way that day: never challenge Liz to eating spicy food, unless you planned on chugging drinks.

Elizabeth simply smiled when she realised that Beau had basically done the macho thing of not yelping out at her jab. She didn't fault him for it, of course. It was cute that he wanted to be a tough guy in front of her.
"But it's so fun doing things you didn't agree to! Especially when it means I get to win." She laughed loudly, ignoring the looks she was getting from passersby.
She laughed at his statement. She knew Beau understood that that wasn't really the case so she didn't argue with him on it. "You really do though." She made a face as she jogged. "Come on, LaRoux. You can't always let me win."

Beau groaned as Liz insisted, not that he expected otherwise. they both knew that his wallet could handle a fairly massive amount of food at Wendy's, which had likely been part of the reason the two of them were heading there. A very small part, since the vast majority of it had to do with the fact that it really was one of Liz's favorite places to go, for some reason.
Those same passersby would get friendly smiles and waves from Beau. Most of them were probably thinking what got thought a lot: what a cute couple. Beau just fell into step, keeping up with Liz for the most part. He certainly wasn't going to argue further about picking up the tab; he'd pretty well signed up for these kind of antics when he'd decided to befriend her those few years ago.
"Hey! I didn't let ya win last time!" he insisted, but he picked up his pace anyway, jogging to keep up with her. He could probably beat her in a foot race... if he really wanted to. What was the point in getting in front of the girl though, especially when you could end up behind and watching? Not that Beau was looking there, of course, that would be wrong, and definitely not something you did with a friend and maybe he could just sort of keep pace with her? Yeah, that would work; he ran alongside her, easily keeping up.

Elizabeth grinned when Beau finally kept up the pace. She knew he could outrun her at any time, which was why she kept teasing him about letting her win. She had her strengths, and he had his. Bowling may not be his but running was. She chalked it up to the fact that he was too lazy to move. Especially after the whooping he received from her during bowling.
Either way, when he started to speed up, she slowed down a little. She would probably speed up when they finally got to Wendy's. "Good on ya Beau, working up an appetite. Then I won't look like a major pig in public consuming three meals on my own." Elizabeth chuckled, finally seeing the redheaded girl with pigtails looming in the horizon.
"Get your money ready!" She chuckled, picking up her pace.

Liz slowed down, which didn't give Beau much choice in the whole who was winning thing. He was probably the faster runner of the two anyway, what with the football and all. If pressed, he might even admit to feeling a little pleased about coming ahead of Liz, if just by a nose. She did speed up as Wendy herself came into view, and soon they were both standing at the entrance, breathing a little hard but hardly the worse for wear.
"I'll eat my share," he promised. Beau bent over and took a few breaths, but only a few before popping back up and heading toward the door. He opened the door and gestured for Liz to head in. Chivalry was not dead; it just happened to be Southern. As soon as Liz walked through, Beau would follow, digging into his pocket for those wrinkled bills. He'd have enough out and situated, even for the hefty meal he expected Liz to order.
"Oh look," he drawled, pointing at the menu. "They still got your flamin' hot burger special. So I'm guessin', what, four of those? Then I'm gonna have to figure out my own order..."

Wiping off the bit of sweat that had clung on to her forehead and above her lip, she thanked Beau with a grin and entered the premises, taking a deep breath and sighing with content. "Greasy food come to mama." She spoke to herself before trotting over to the counter to place her order.
"Ah yes. I want that. Okay so hi," she smiled widely at the girl behind the counter who smiled back before her eyes moved over to Beau. Elizabeth's smile dropped slightly before she continued into her order. "So I'd like the special meal, upsize the fries and coke and gimme two of just the burgers, the cheese and broccoli baked potato, the large chilli and the strawberry frosty. Thank you!" She took out her wallet from her pocket and fished for some money.
Oh, of course she was kidding about paying for dinner. There was no way she was letting Beau pay for the hefty meal she was going to consume. "So how much is that?" Elizabeth asked the girl who blinked a few times before turning back to Elizabeth who looked at Beau in amusement.
Handing over her money, she stepped aside to let Beau order.

Beau was trying to signal to the girl that he was covering the meal while Liz ordered. said girl noticed and nodded and all, though Beau wasn't sure how much got through. The girl did look at him, but that could've just been because he was cute and quite obviously "with" Liz on at least some level, what with being right behind her and not getting elbowed or anything. He saw Liz pulling out a wallet and tried to gesture again. He hoped the cashier got it; there was some nodding or something, but that could've been the order too.
Girl likely thought that Liz had ordered for both. There was some blinking and looking, which could've just been "really, all this?" Beau waited, watched Liz hand over the money, and then stepped up, ready to disabuse any notions of having been paid for. "I'll have one special, no upsizin', an' a chocolate Frostie," he drawled, digging into his wallet and extending his hand. The cashier, to Beau's delight, handed over Liz's money and took Beau's, allowing him to pay for the whole meal. Beau was soon turning and winking at Liz while moving on down to grab napkins and the like.
"Ya jus' can't fight the Southern charm," he replied as he brushed past, knowing he might need those napkins to protect himself from Liz soon (though Beau was also well aware that paper napkins weren't gonna be much use against a Pyrokinetic).

Not really paying much attention - or rather trying not to - to the exchange between her best friend and the friendly cashier, Elizabeth busied herself with picking up condiments for their meal.
There was bound to be the whole "You're eating all of that by yourself?" look from people, which Elizabeth was also trying not to pay much attention to. Not many people knew about people like them. They didn't know what it would do to them, to Elizabeth in particular, if they didn't bulk up. Of course, that was her argument. Most of the reason for the ordering was that she loved food.
Turning to Beau when he started to speak, Elizabeth rolled her eyes and waited for their food. "Yeah yeah. You keep that money or I will ignite another kind of flame that doesn't involve the burgers." She pointed to Beau warningly before giving him a cheeky grin.
The food finally came and the pyrokinetic took the tray and walked over to an empty table. "Okay that girl is seriously giving me the stink eye." The blond chewed on her fries a little more aggressively than normal. "Ask for her number later. Make her happy." Elizabeth joked with Beau.

Beau chuckled at Liz's thread. "Yeah, I'll just sneak it into your pocket when you're not lookin'. Gives me an excuse to touch your butt," he drawled back, adding another wink. He leaned against the condiment/straw stand, watching as their order came, pretending like his attention was more on that than on anything more... distracting. Of course his eyes kept flicking over to where Liz was, taking her in, enjoying the sight even if it was just out of the corner of his attention instead of front and center.
The food came, and Beau pushed off, heading over toward it. Liz beat him to the tray though, and he knew better than to fight a battle he wasn't going to win. They'd already put both their meals on one tray (which was dangerous, since obviously Liz could so eat Beau's food in addition to her own), and Liz was probably still burning a little about Beau's little trick with the food. He settled for pulling out her chair for her when they got a table, then sat himself across.
Beau reached over and dug around the food, glancing over at the cashier when Liz mentioned her. "Nah, ain't really my type,' he said dismissively, adding a little shrug. He pulled out a straw, sticking it into one of the cups. Without looking, he took a sip, then grimaced. "Strawberry,' he said. He stuck his tongue out to finish his opinion before handing the drink over to Liz, already grabbing the other and pulling it toward him. "Remember that at least one of those is mine; you ain't the only one that's feelin' hungry," he said, nodding toward the tray.

"You don't have to have an excuse for that, Beau." Elizabeth winked right back at Beau and bumped her hip against his.
She noticed that he had been the Southern gentleman by pulling out her seat and she accepted it. There was no fighting it, anyway.
The flippant way Beau dismissed the girl made Elizabeth smile a little, hiding it almost immediately when he turned back to their table. But it came back when he made a face at the drink he had consumed. "Dude, germs." She made wretching noises before laughing. Classy.
"Yeah yeah yeah, I know I know." She rolled her eyes before grabbing her fries and opening the top to her shake, dipping a few sticks of her fries and transferring it into her mouth. "That's the stuff." She sighed through her full mouth.
