In her teen years she wouldn’t have done this but it could be somewhat argued that once she got through her teen years -Well, she wasn’t exactly mellow as it is but she was a lot more calm then she was...that was the point- But now? Now she always tried to spent some time in her day in the park, maybe that was why she was so high strung, because beyond the stables with Neptune, there wasn’t really a place she could go to to unwind after the days stress, and tension and the perfect place for that seemed to be the park,
So Ellen stayed there in the park taking deep breaths trying to relax unaware of anyone noticing her

The weather was absolutely perfect for Elizabeth. Snow was falling moderately but it was cold enough for the average person to start wanting to layer up. For the blonde, that meant a sleeveless light blue floral sundress and ankle boots with her sunkissed long blond hair up in a messy half ponytail.
Elizabeth went through the park on the way to the square when she was accosted by a few fans who wanted her autograph. Glad for the fanfare, she entertained them as much as they wanted and once they had cleared off, her eyes caught sight of a very familiar head of hair.
No...it couldn't be. Could Ellen Banks be sitting on a park bench? Alone?
Her hurried footsteps almost had her slipping on her butt but surprisingly, her shoes had plenty of traction, keeping her upright on the icy ground and once she was close enough, she called out her close friend's name.

Ah yes, this was MUCH better, Ellen was much more calm and peaceful and most assuredly more relaxed then when she indeed was around people, to her, it was like her time out, or break from being….Well...A break from being herself…..
but then...a familiar voice echoed through the peace……
Oh no…..
…..As soon as Ellen heard that voice she pulled her hood up and started walking forward hoping to avoid being seen

Elizabeth huffed when Ellen started to get off the bench and hurriedly walking away with her hood up. It wasn't like she didn't seen the woman. And it was quite obvious Ellen had seen or at least heard her that she had even gotten up from the bench.
"Ellen!" The blonde sighed and hurried along. Once she was in close range to the other blonde, Elizabeth called her name again. "It's only been a year, there's no way you've forgotten what my voice sounds like."

Well, was much for alone time….
She should have known that her long cherished quiet time wasn’t going to go by with kind of interruption like that, but she didn’t expect this person to show up, the last Ellen heard of Elizabeth she was…...What? Singing or something, apprently she was doing quite well for herself too. So to say that Ellen was surprised to see Elizabeth coming back in her little town...shouldn’t she been on some big tour right about now?
Eventually Liz caught up with her, and with a sigh Ellen stopped and turns towards Elizabeth appraising Elizabeth giving her a quick scan with her eyes “So. You’re back” Ellen noticed “...You look...healthy”

Grinning when the other blonde finally turned around and acknowledged her. Her conversational skills hadn't improved, Elizabeth noted, which made her grin widen even more.
"Yep. Shed a few pounds of dead weight." She chuckled, though she still felt a little bad for the way things had turned out between her and her ex. She had decided not to dwell on that. There was no reason for her to. Though she knew the way she had handled not being her own woman in the relationship, she knew she had done right by leaving.
"You haven't changed one bit, have you." Elizabeth moved forward and without giving Ellen a chance to react, she wrapped her arms around the woman briefly and stepped away before Ellen could do anything. Like punch her in the stomach.
"Well, you have...you're in the park. A public park no less. In winter...alone. Ivory tower getting too suffocating?"

And there it was, like a little ray of sunlight peeking out from behind a cloud there was that smile that made Elizabeth look so happy it hurt, which was so damn surprising especially considering that she had heard that recently she had suffered some kind of break up with her long term boyfriend which didn’t exactly sound all that pleasant to say the very least -Not that Ellen cared of course, from what Ellen heard he was nothing short of a total bore so certainly it as no great lost- and Elizabeth seemed to feel that way to judging from how she appeared to be handling it
“Yeah I heard about that…..You seem to be….taking it well“ Ellen was a little out of her element here, not knowing the exact protocol here, did she need comfort? God she really hoped that wasn’t the case, Ellen was terrible at that sort of thing
Where was Ash when she really needed her?
There was two answers to that particular question, the answer she was willing to give and the answer she simply wasn’t. The answer she wasn’t willing to give? Yes, she’s changed far more than Ellen can even tell her, the last time they met the idea of her having a full time partner would have been….well...crazy, but now? Things certainly did change and Ellen liked to think that she had become much more soft as a result
“Why would I want to do a thing like that?” THAT was the answer she was willing to give
At first Ellen was taken by surprise by the sheer tightness that was one of her hugs, after a moment of the hug she was half tempted to push Elizabeth ff, but then the disapproving face of Ash swam into view and Ellen quickly found herself as gingerly as possible start to press her hands against her shoulder blades, but quickly Elizabeth began to move back as Ellen moved back hoping that Elizabeth didn’t notice at all

Elizabeth chuckled when Ellen responded to her own response. "I was the one who dropped him. Couldn't really breathe well." She took a deep breath to emphasise the statement. Ellen's rhetorical question had Elizabeth laughing and shaking her head in amusement. Ellen knew exactly how to liven a conversation.
It surprised her quite deeply when she felt Ellen's hand on her back but it passed when she saw Ellen backing away a little. She gave Ellen her trademark bright smile before looking her over again. "You look good though." Elizabeth nodded. "What are you doing in the park anyway?"

“Men are idiots,” Ellen said with fierce certainly spouting one of the major truths in Ellen’s life that she held dear, she never met a man in her life that was worth even half an hour of her time. Ellen really didn’t see the point of them, to be honest
….Ok, so maybe she did see the point of them. Objectively speaking. But any real practical use alluded her.
No hugging was not something she normally did, nor would she ever do it again, she had no clue why she just did that especially given how she generally avoided physical contact with good reason with good reason…
“It’s good for me to take a break from people….Helps with my sincere temperament”

Ellen's statement had Elizabeth laughing as she nodded. "You're not wrong there." The musician responded. She realised now that she had made a mistake of being with someone so completely wrong with her. She hadn't completely written men off, obviously. They were good for her. She just had to be smart about the next one. If there was going to be a next one.
The other blonde's response to her initial question had Elizabeth snorting and laughing. "Is that so? Well I'm sorry you can't take a break from me." She shrugged, not really caring that Ellen had never really shown an ounce of softening up with her.
"So what have you been up to since graduation? Are you still in BA?"

Ellen had never met this person that Liz was involved with, but she was sure he was perfectly handsome and attractive….honestly the idea that Elizabeth was in a committed relationship was just bizarre. She probably just went around life going from bed to bed, a wild cat. Of course, she was never going to be tied down by anyone.
That was just her…
She sighed a little a small smile playing on her face once Liz told her there was no escape from her, of course, there wasn’t even if sh wanted to. Neptune would never let her forget about Liz or her horse, so if Neptune was ok with her…..Well Ellen was powerless
“I’m running one of my family businesses….it’s going great, naturally enough. You know me work work work. “

It came to no surprise when Ellen said she had taken over a family business. It seemed to be the pattern for the rich kids in BA to follow in their parents' footsteps, living the family legacy. Erika and Drew were pioneers, it made sense that Ellen came soon after.
"Still living alone?" Elizabeth asked with a sly grin.

Did, she particularly enjoy her work? Not really but then again who really did? Work wasn’t meant to be fun. It was meant to be a hard struggle actually earn a paycheck. Ellen was quite proud of the fact that she earned everything that she got in her life and wasn’t just a trust fund kid, she earned what she got in her life
Unlike, SOME people….
She looked up rapidly at the question instantly on guard her back straight and her complexion totally calm “No, I have a roommate” She said sharply before changing the topic rapidly “What about you, what are you up to?”
Post by Elizabeth Edison on Mar 15, 2016 11:43:46 GMT -6
Elizabeth saw the way Ellen reacted and the sly grin turned into a snort giggle before she straightened her face. All hope for Ellen changing the subject was dashed after that.
Even after all the years of separation, Elizabeth still remembered the one thing Ellen Banks was almost fearful of was men. Though they never really spoke intimately about where Ellen leaned, Elizabeth knew it wasn't toward men so naturally, a woman was on Elizabeth's mind.
Roommate, however, could mean anything and Elizabeth knew that but what were the chances that Ellen tolerates an acquaintance enough to be a roommate and actually admit to it? No, this had to be someone a lot more important than a 'roommate'.
"Dealing with some business mishap. So this roommate of yours...anyone I know?"
Post by Ellen Banks on Mar 15, 2016 12:09:00 GMT -6
Urg. Of course. OF COURSE, Elizabeth would focus on the very thing that Ellen certainly didn’t want to discuss, she wouldn’t be Elizabeth if she didn’t, at least, attempt to get under Ellen’s skin one way or another.
And she would protect strongly to the idea she was afraid of men. She didn’t like most men, she generally avoided them, she was annoyed by them but actual fear? Most certainly not, and she would attack anyone that said other wise
Ellen kept a poker face throughout Elizabeth’s questing, not wanting to give anywhere there was anything special about her roommate
“I wouldn’t think so, she’s a very…...private person”
