Good, Roxana knew how to tailor her professionalism to deal with someone younger. Elsa almost sighed with relief at that. She'd been genuinely concerned that the often stiff and awkward young woman wouldn't know what to do when faced with a child. It struck Elsa as being very much a response she'd have expected. Then again, Roxana did deal with Demeter Smith fairly regularly, so maybe she was used to dealing with unruly children.
Apparently, or apparently she at least had an act. Elsa couldn't suppress the smile at hearing "Roxy," something that she was definitely going to use against her later. The pretty comment nearly had Elsa laughing, but she contained it. She had to shoot Roxana a quick near glare and a mental thank you in what she hoped was the most sarcastic way you could possibly send a telepathic message.
She took the girl's hand anyway. "That's right, I'm Elsa, and you know what my last name is? Bellefonte. That means that this school is sort of like my home and--" and that had the girl interrupting and asking if Elsa was a princess. Elsa smiled, feeling the expression nearly twitch. "Some people call me--" and then of course came the questions if Elsa had ice powers and if she had a sister and if she was a good princess and all that fun stuff.
Please find the girl's family quickly, Elsa sent as she put on her best, likely pained smile and again cursed Disney for saddling her with the name of one of their most painfully popular characters.

Roxana might have been the youngest in her family but she had worked with younger people before and it was in her training to deal with different types of people. She might not have been super awesome at dealing with certain types of people; but that was mostly because she had no desire to. Or it could be largely the fact that she didn’t really need to be strong in the area of dealing with different types of people. After all, her specialty involved killing, infiltrating, and protecting. In that order. She could almost say that working with Demi helped out in this situation but not by much considering Demi liked to remind her all the time that she was not a child.
As for the nickname she let the other girl call her, she only said it because in the past many kids would end up calling her Roxy. She honestly preferred her actual name, Rox, and even Roxas; yes the one from the Kingdom Hearts. There was a reason behind why she liked being called that name, that carried over from her old school. There was a quick glare with a mental thank you that followed along with it; which had to mean that Elsa was being sarcastic. She didn’t fully understand why Elsa was giving her a sarcastic thank you. Elsa was in fact a pretty woman, she would have said beautiful but typically kids understood ‘pretty lady’ over beautiful lady.
Elsa was introducing herself further and even was soon being called similar to a princess for not only her name but likely because her name was the name of the school. It carried a lot of weight behind it but Elsa handled that weight pretty well. Roxana was already looking for the girl’s family, her mind already getting a slight headache as the mental images from her memory were flying across her mind. Having the kind of memory she did was very helpful, even if she didn’t like people to know just how good her memory was. Located them. Rox sent the mental thought to the other girl when she was certain she found the right people.
“This way.” Rox said moving forward to lead them in the direction where she spotted the girl’s family. No doubt that one of them had to have noticed the little girl was missing, or it was very possibly they had not noticed yet. Rox didn’t care, she if they had noticed or not since she was heading in their direction and expecting Elsa to be following behind with the little girl in tow.

At least the girl wasn't asking Elsa to sing. She wasn't horrible at it, but, well, her talents had most definitely landed more in the area of dancing than actually singing, and she definitely couldn't manage anything in the range of Idina Menzel. The child proved to be quite insistent and seemed fairly enamored of Elsa, which was certainly flattering and more than a little ego-boosting.
Elsa did catch the thought, if more in passing than Roxana probably would've considered. She nodded and took the girl's hand. "Roxy will lead us to your family, and then you can just tell them all about your little adventure," there, that sounded right, almost textbook for how to handle situations like this. Elsa smiled and helped take the little girl along, following Roxy closely. It would be a bit difficult to work through the crowd, but people were generally willing to give Roxana a fairly noticeable birth. Add on Elsa and that birth got wider. Throw in a small child and they almost started parting people like waves.
The child beckoned Elsa lower and whispered, which had Elsa smiling and whispering back. The child gave Roxana a wide eyed look, but kept following. once they'd gotten close to the family, they did the job of closing the distance, practically sprinting at them. Elsa was already moving forward, ready to hand over the daughter and start doing the talking again.

It was actually...cute to see Elsa walking with a little girl next to her and said little girl holding her hand. For a moment it made Roxana wonder what kind of parent Elsa would be and was predicting that she likely would be a pretty good one. Likely stern still but Rox was certain that another side would show a bit more in Elsa if someone was actually her kid. Then again, she could have been simply overthinking things when it was not that big of a deal. The task at finding the girl's parents prevented her from remaining on such a thought for too long. It was likely for that best that she didn't have such thought around Miss Bellefonte and it was all too likely Elsa picked up on some of it.
Rox did glance back at Elsa for a moment when the other girl used the nickname of Roxy in reference to her. It was fine if the younger girl did it, it was fine but if Elsa was doing it...well it felt like Elsa was just teasing her. That was likely the case but she didn't say anything on it as she just focused on the task at hand. It did not take long for them to get where they were going, people made it pretty easy by moving out of the way. Roxana knew why they were moving out of the way and she was already slightly wondering what rumors were going to be spread in reference to Elsa and Rox seen walking around with a little girl.
She heard some whispering behind her, which caused her to glance behind her again and wonder what they were whispering about. She noted to ask Elsa after they were done with dropping the younger girl off to her family. Unless Elsa told her in her mind, which would have also worked. They were soon upon the girl's family and the whole reunion of sorts following. Rox remained silent the whole time, just standing there and watching from the distance that she felt was appropriate in this situation. It was all on Elsa now, Rox was just there.

Elsa once again had to do her usual performance. Smiles, assurances, promises that this happened all the time, that the parents didn't have to worry, that this is what they were there for. And she had to share a smile with the parents over the mention of Queen Elsa yet again. The family had their own thing to do, of course, leaving Elsa standing with Roxana.
"I never would have expected you'd be good with children," Elsa said, looking over at her friend. "Roxy, it sort of suits you, doesn't it?" She had to smile, before turning to look around. It would only be a matter of moments until someone else would need something and, sure enough, someone seemed to be hurrying their way. In point of fact, he'd been looking around for a moment before actually seeing Elsa and waving at her.
Elsa had to sigh. "This is going to be about food," she said, looking over at Roxana. "You've my permission to run if you want. Otherwise we're probably going to be staring down hot dogs and counting burger patties," which Elsa could've sworn she'd assigned to someone else, yet somehow she still found herself doing it multiple times.

Roxana watched in silence as Elsa did the things she was practically programmed to do. Well in Elsa case it was probably best to say that she had been raised to do, but program sort of worked with Elsa since the other girl didn't really show that many emotions in a similar way that Rox didn't show much. Perhaps if Roxana smiled a bit more than that would change how people viewed her but it was just odd to smile for no reason. Why smile if there was nothing to smile about at that moment? Rox understood smiling for the sake of appearance but unlike Elsa she didn't need to put on an air of being super friendly.
The family then went about their business, leaving Elsa and Rox alone again for however short of a time they would have before someone was going to likely be asking for more help. Were these people incapable of doing anything on their own? Rox looked to Elsa when the other girl was speaking to her, glancing away at the comment about not expecting her to be good with kids before she gave something sort of like a glare when Elsa used that Roxy nickname on her. "I've had to work with a kid or two in my line of work. That and..." Roxana said before trailing off, leaving it at that and decided to put what she was going to say and the thought away quickly and moved on.
She didn't want to talk about such a thing like that just yet, not with Elsa at the moment. "Roxy is reserved for younger kids and...certain people." Roxana pointed out then, focusing on that instead of the kid’s topic. However; now that didn't seem like the wisest conversation with the thoughts that threatened to slip in along with the nickname Roxy. "It was cute to see you walking and holding that little girl's hand." Rox pointed out, just adding to the whole slightly trying to change the topic. Then someone was approaching them, Elsa revealing that it was about food, and offering her a way out.
"If you do not wish for me to leave you alone on the matter, I will remain at your side." Roxana pointed out. She would prefer not to deal with such a thing, but if Elsa wanted her there she would stay a little longer.

She'd worked with children? Part of Elsa wanted to pry a little further there, see what that actually entailed. Except, well, she could recall some of the stories she knew about Roxana's past, how she'd dated people she'd effectively targeted. If Roxana dealt with children, then that could very well mean that she'd "dealt" with children.
There were some things you didn't want to know.
The correction had Elsa half-smiling. "It's cute that you think I'm going to care about your protests," she pointed out. The smile slid at Roxana's comment. Alright, shot returned. Elsa understood. She was still going to log away the name for later use.
And the smile returned at Roxana's response. Again Elsa was reminded of the whole knight and princess comments they'd exchanged a few times throughout their relationship. She simply nodded, and tried not to sigh as the boy approached and explained that yes, it was food, and that they had this massive order of vegan patties that surely had to be a mistake. And soon enough Elsa and likely Roxana were walking back across the courtyard, heading toward where a truck was unloading what appeared to be an entire trolley of vegan patties.
"Well, I hope you like veggie burgers," Elsa said to Roxana, looking things over. "Try to find someone with an invoice..."

Roxana had no clue how Elsa took what she meant by ‘working with children’, but it was not all that complicated. While she had ‘dealt’ with children in the way of causing them to not see another day, but the other way was actually looking after them. In her line of work she had to protect a few children here and there, one memory in particular coming to her mind. She had been charged to look after a boy that was around seven years old while she had been about twelve and put to watch him. She had been chosen specifically because how young she was that allowed the young boy to not fully understand that Rox was not there to actually be his playmate.
There was more to that story, but Rox stopped thinking about it before her mind dived too far into her own past. She didn’t really like going back there unless she really had to; and she rarely ever had too since the lessons that were important had been engraved in her. Roxana had a really, really good memory and didn’t forget things. Not easily. Elsa spoke of how it was cute that Rox thought she would care if she would protest. “I’m certain if I protest the right way, you will refrain from calling me by that name.” Roxana spoke up. For now she was not too concerned with it since she knew it would be impossible to try and get Elsa not to call her by such a nickname after the other girl had just heard it.
Elsa seemed pleased by something, if Rox had to guess she would assume it had to deal with the fact that Rox was willing to remain by her side despite not enjoying this kind of work. That was just a guess; it was sometimes hard to be one hundred percent sure or in sync with Elsa’s mind. Unlike Elsa, Rox didn’t have such a power so it was purely on her own skills, observation, and just knowing Elsa pretty well. Perhaps not completely, but enough that she could make a decent guess. Elsa didn’t say to go, but nor did she say to stay. Instead Elsa was moving ahead and Rox naturally just resumed following the other girl.
“I don’t and I shall try.” Roxana responded to Elsa’s words as she hesitated for a moment as her mind tried to figure out what she actually should do in this situation. Was Elsa serious about that last statement? Rox was good at spotting people, not really food objects so she was hoping they were not going to go on a mission to find such an item and if the problem was the person wanted a veggie dog, well then…well Rox didn’t know.

"Keep fooling yourself," Elsa replied offhandedly. She actually would drop it under very certain circumstances, but that was highly unlikely. Elsa was one of those who wasn't willing to let go of something that would give her the slightest bit of leverage over someone, even if that someone happened to be a friend or close companion.
They'd made it to the food, and Roxana's response at the situation had Elsa letting out a dry laugh. "Almost no one does," She said. She was still counting the food, looking it over, a little surprised that she had opted for this one and sent Roxana after the other. But Elsa needed to check and Rox could find and intimidate someone. She did catch the thought and had to roll her eyes.
"Yes, I'm serious. Look for someone who's in charge and check the invoice. I'm pretty sure we did not order this many veggie burgers, but someone could've messed up. I'd rather know if we've got to try and spin this or change a school lunch or who knows what," though if it extended beyond the cookout, then Elsa didn't have to worry much. It could go to dogs as far as she was concerned... so long as they didn't screw them out of something else instead.

"You know, certain people find it charming with a girl that thinks she holds all the power and control." Roxana pointed out as her response. She would leave the topic there for now, unless Elsa responded back to her. She was just going to have to prepare herself for when Elsa was going to likely use the nickname. Perhaps if she told her why children and only certain people were allowed to call her by such a name, Elsa might not call her by it. However; now was not the time to bring up such a conversation so she was going to have to deal with it for now. Besides, they already had more work to do, unfortunately.
Rox wondered for a moment what her sister, brother, or even parents would say to her with having to do such things with the level of skill she had. Then again her parents were slightly at fault for why she was here so perhaps they knew just how low she felt at times with the task she was assigned that did not line up with what she was capable of. not that many of her talents would ever be put to use at this school, not with why it was created and its purpose overall. Almost no one did, and yet there were a few people that did and those that did seemed to love making a big deal about making sure they had them.
Roxana really didn't understand certain diet choices but she was not going to comment since it was not really relevant to her wellbeing. Elsa was serious and Rox almost let out a groan at the task but remained silent as she moved off to do what was asked. It didn't take long for her to find the one in charge of what had been ordered. The person who was in charge was making a fuss about how they were not responded but Rox just hand up her hand to show that she didn't need excuses, took the paperwork, and headed back to Elsa.
"Here is the paper work. It does say that the school ordered it, but you can clearly see that someone erased the original number before this was sent out to the company that dropped this off." Rox explained, having looked over the paper work real quick. She could not say who did it and honestly didn't care since this was really not the kind of work she did. Checking for a shipment of weapons was close but that held a little more importance then veggie dogs.

"Are you saying I'm charming? Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks so," Elsa replied easily enough. She just kept counting, not quite believing the numbers. Did they even have someone who could do something with this? Who worked in the kitchens any more anyway? Elsa hadn't really paid attention since Everett left. She tapped the stack, hoping that Roxana would have better news.
not really. Elsa sighed. "That means the mistake was probably on our end. I can't even remember which one of us put in the order for these things," Elsa let out another sigh, running her hands through her hair. She did spare a quick nod for one of the workers: hardly their fault that everything had gone pear shaped. Elsa lowered the hand, looking toward the stacks.
"I don't suppose your homeland has any good recipes for veggie patties and dogs?" she asked, tapping a box. "Because we're definitely going to have to find some way to spin this..." Elsa tapped her fingers again, wishing she could just conjure up some kind of explanation like that. It would certainly make her job a good deal easier.

Was Roxana saying that Elsa was charming? Roxana didn't hold back the look she gave the other girl for a small moment. Was that a serious question? "My feelings towards you have not changed and I have always found you charming even before." Roxana pointed out. There that should make it simple enough and get her answer across. Of course she thought Elsa was charming and she already knew that Elsa already found herself charming. It would good to have a decent opinion about yourself, especially when you held a very important name.
You could not let little things like being worried about your looks and thinking you were not attractive enough in such a position. Simple as that. Elsa spoke of how the mistake was on their end then, with Rox resuming her stance next to the other girl as she looked around. This was not something that she felt she could really help out with so was going into standby mode. What could they do? Roxana had no clue and fully planned on leaving it for Elsa to think about and figure out. However; Elsa was asking her a question which made her basically involved on the matter.
"No, but if you cook them on the grill close with normal burgers and hotdogs they should pick up a decent amount of the flavor and the only big difference will be the texture. The taste won’t be one hundred percent like the normal ones but not as bland as it currently would be." Roxana spoke. She didn't need to know cooking tips or how to make things better so didn't bother to learn such things. This sort of thing she only knew about because of an incident a while back of someone cooking veggie burger next to normal burgers and the veggie burgers basically not being veggie burgers fully.

Charming? Elsa almost laughed at that, or asked what version of Elsa Bellefonte it was that Roxana was talking about. The woman clearly had some sort of blinders on or something along those lines. But, well, that wasn't anything that Elsa hadn't already known. The advice offered had Elsa chuckling.
"you really don't understand how the vegan thing works, do you?" She asked, letting out another dry laugh and shaking her head. "They can't really pick up on the flavors or whatnot, sort of ruins it all. We might be able to get a few of them passed off that way, but we'd probably get a few people mad..."
Elsa trailed off, considering, drumming her fingers at them before looking to Roxana with a smile. "I don't suppose you could use them for training? They use hamburger meat to simulate humans all the time, right? This would just be a bit more... organic."
Post by Roxana Strix on Sept 28, 2015 20:50:41 GMT -6
Elsa might have found it funny or odd that someone would view her as charming, but clearly she must have been walking around the world with a blindfold over her eyes. She must have forgotten about Felix; whom Rox personally would have more than happy with, but she just did not understand why Elsa behaved and said certain things that she did. It always bothered Roxana when she thought back on Elsa saying that her sister was the pretty one, or turning attention to her sister when it came to people being interested in her or giving her certain kinds of complements.
Surely it could not have been a confidence or self-esteem things...but part of Roxana did start to wonder ever since she had become interested in the other girl in 'that' way. Elsa said nothing on it and so for now Roxana was going to drop it as well. It was not her place to try and get Elsa to understand how there were actual people out there who viewed her in another way then what she assumed everyone saw her as. "I understand that many don't remain vegan for long and that it is an inefficient diet when out bodies have long since change to be able to omnivorous." Roxana responded to Elsa sort of question about how the whole vegan things worked.
Roxana listened as Elsa explained how they could not really pick up flavors which now had Rox thinking back to why vegans had complained and made a big deal when their burgers were cooked on the grill next to normal burgers. Then again, she didn't really understand the purpose of a cookout at the time, so perhaps she was just confused and misunderstood everything back then and now did not have accurate information to go off of. The desire to do research now rose up with her. The information was not relevant to her but she did not like not knowing something that possible could have been simple knowledge.
Then there was a question if they could be used for training which had Roxana raising an eyebrow for a moment. Was Elsa serious? Twice now Rox was not certain if Elsa was messing with her or was being for real about it all. She just remained silent for a moment, looking at the other girl, and trying to figure out if Elsa was serious and if she was what she should say. "You could donate it." Roxana ended up saying, feeling like that was the best thing to say in this kind of situation of uncertainly.
Post by Elsa Bellefonte on Sept 28, 2015 20:58:15 GMT -6
Elsa had to let out wide smile and a click of the tongue. "Right, so clearly we keep you away from the vegans," she said, but she couldn't suppress the grin that spread across her face in the slightest. Leave it to Roxana to have just such a strong opinion about meat and those that opted not to consume it. Though Elsa was again reminded of how often people called Roxana a soldier or something along those lines. This just fit right along with that almost too well.
And apparently her suggestion, which had been at least partially serious, about using it in more alternative ways didn't go over very well. Elsa had to shrug at the mention of donating it. "I don't suppose you know of a giant collective of---" she began, before pausing and raising her brows. "Actually," she looked over at Roxana, "what do you think of perhaps donating it to the group camped near town? I've been meaning to check in on them, and this would give us a reason to actually go in and look. Well, give me a reason," she raised her brows and smiled at Roxana. Yes, she fully expected that Roxana had already gone and checked on them, likely had a full report sent to SIGARD.
