It was not that Devyn didn't get that Zoe wanted the same for her; it was more so that she was just not thinking about it in that way. She always had a thing about her where she was less worried about herself and more so thinking about those she cared about. Zoe was one of those people so she was just happy that Zoe had gotten to a pointing her life where she felt loved and cared for. Dev didn't really think about it apply to herself until Zoe started to point it out, which just had her rocking on her heels for a moment as she took in the words. Zoe was right about not being able to do anything besides just love Dev.

Not the way that Dev would have wanted in the past but at this point she honestly did accept it and just hoped that while her love for Zoe was different, that it would allow her to really work on just being Zoe's friend. It seemed easier to just leave the other girl alone and go about their lives but the other girl seem to refuse the idea of them not being in one another lives. It made things difficult, but when had things in Devyn's life been easy? "I know, I know. I get that there are people that care about me...I do. I'm just being guarded. Don't really like the feeling of someone dying or leaving me." Devyn responded as she removed a hand from her pocket to start grab a hold of her hair again.

Was it wrong to just be hesitant to just accept others love for her and want to return it as well? She had gotten a lot better at it, Vera had helped out a lot by not allowing Devyn to run away from a topic and would force her to get things out there. Zoe was helping by not giving up on her and still trying to get Dev to open up. There was an offer then about how Dev could call Zoe and talk to her at any time. Dev noted that down and considered telling Zoe the other thing that was on her mind. It just still didn't feel right to tell Zoe or really talk about such a thing with the other girl considering their past.

"You know how bad I am with my phone unless I'm sending flirting text...but I'll try." Devyn responded as she gave a slight nod. She then moved in again to try and give Zoe another hug, this one more along the lines of good bye because she didn't want to keep holding the other girl up and also didn't think she could tell Zoe certain things just yet. "I'll let you get back to your photography." Devyn said as she would give Zoe her space and even a wave. She would wait until Zoe would leave before she would.

"And it's alright to be guarded: You've been through a lot," Zoe said, speaking softly. She did, however, reach up and gently tap the part of Devyn's hand that had threaded into her hair. Zoe ran her fingers over it for a moment longer, working to sooth it, spread that paralysis a little further and help Devyn relax at least that point.

Zoe had already tucked her hands back to her camera by the time Devyn continued. Said hands soon ended up spreading out to give another quick hug, willing enough to just give up that bit of physical contact to the other girl, if for a few moments. Thankfully Devyn didn't make this one last any longer. Zoe did wait a moment before she stepped away, once more smiling up at Devyn and nodding.

"You should try to help out too," Zoe pointed out, gesturing toward the crowd. "I'm sure there's something you could do. But if you need to rest, that would be okay too," Zoe gave Devyn another smile, then took a few steps away. She paused long enough to wave a few fingers in Devyn's direction before heading off, knowing she'd need to go forth and take more photographs.
