[Erin Hackett]

Erin had wanted to go to the movies for a while, because she had actually never gone to the movies in America. There was a lot that she had not done in America yet, but she still felt like Japan did everything better anyways, so it was not that big of deal. Still, she wanted to go to the movies with all of her friends at some point, so that was the plan. Quinn was next on her list instead of first because it was like breaking limbs with that guy when she wanted to hang out with him. Still, she had already worked things out where he would go to the movies with her.

For now she was going to go to them with someone that she didn't have to worry about fighting to hang out with her. Erin at first was worried that he was going to be worried about going to the movies alone with her, because she asked for him to come alone and not with his girlfriend. She didn't have a problem with Tim's girlfriend other than the fact that she was hot and you were not supposed to lust after your friend’s girl. Tim's girlfriend had nothing to worry about of course because Erin was super gay and was not going to try anything with Tim.

She just wanted a body to go to the movies with her and that was why she had bugged him about going to the movies with her a lot over his text until the day finally arrived. She was already standing outside the Spring Prairie Center, waiting for Tim to show up at the spot she said she meet him at. He was taking longer than she expected and was worried something was up. Yet, it was very possible that Tim might not have spotted her because she ended up using her power a few minutes ago when a group of girl started to head into the movie theaters and she had yet to stop using it. She did at least text him saying where she standing near the ‘Age of Ultron display case.

Normally Tim would have asked more questions, and he'd seriously thought about doing that this time. First and foremost would be "what movie are we watching" and "how nerdy are we going?" Those were generally the questions he ended up asking everyone since forever. He also wondered if Erin was one of those who was gonna complain, because Tim was, uh, sort of talkative. Just a little. As in he had a tendency to sometimes shout at the screen and get shushed by half a theatre.

So he arrived, headed for the Age of Ultron display. "Hey," he said, looking up. "You really need to work on details with this thing. Are we seeing this?" he jerked his head toward the Avengers movie. "'cuz it's actually pretty damn cool. Like, there's some moments that are just, whoa." Tim paused for a moment, looked at the poster again, then back at his friend. "Midnight showing," he offered by way of explanation, adding a slight nod and a moderately sheepish smile.

Erin would not have had really too many answers to give to Tim, and that was why she had left things so vague. She had planned it so they would show up around the time when two 'nerd movies' would be playing but would leave it up to him to pick. That was what friends did, right? They invited you out to movies, let you pick the movie, the snacks, and the two of you had a ton of fun together. That was how it was done in the movies and on a lot of shows, so that was how Erin imagined it was all going to go.

Tim had said yes, so that was already step one completed of the whole get together to hang out with one another. Tim was over to where she was, asking questions and pointing out that she needed to actually work the details of this sort of thing. She was kind of hoping that they could just wing it, just to be safe. In case say they went into a movie and it had a ton of hot girl sitting in it and that would be just too much for her. "Sorry, I uh wanted to see Age of Ultron but I was leaving it to you to what movie you wanted to see. I'll pay for everything, you just have to pick." Erin said as she started to play with the end of her shirt a little bit.

"Oh, was there one? I thought they were only doing that on another day." Erin said as she quickly turned around and looked at the poster. Sure enough there was a midnight showing. They could do that, she was not afraid of the dark or anything. "Do you want to do it then?" Erin asked as she looked back at Tim.

"Figured," Tim said, nodding. He was definitely up for seeing the movie again: it was totally sweet and he wanted to watch again with a little more knowledge about some of the details that had happened, just to see what ended up happening in there and if he could see and...

"Hey, this isn't a date, so you shouldn't be paying for everything," Tim pointed out. He nodded, his expression stoic. "I've got a girlfriend, and I totally don't do the cheating thing," he held it for a few seconds before shaking his head and raising a hand. "Don't worry: I'm not, like, expecting you to make a move on me. I'm sure you're just trying to be cool. But I'll totally pay. and yeah," he nodded, "definitely down. C'mon," Tim waved at Erin, turning to head toward the ticket stand, "we can get student prices and they're pretty decent here. Just remember," he turned to her, walking backward for a few paces, "I'm a talker. I had to fulfill at least one stereotype of my people or they'd, like, expunge me."

Tim nodded and turned back, his hand moving to his pockets at some point in the motion, ready to pull out the necessary cards and/or funds.

Erin figured that Tim figured, because he was the kind of guy who seemed to get how her mind worked...sometimes. Really she was just saying that because he had been right about this whole event and what have you. Other than that, she didn't really know if he got her, but that didn't matter. They were not here to come to 'get' one another better; they were here to watch a movie. Well, in the spirit of friendship the movie was supposed to help further their friendship bond and in fact help them come to 'get' one another. Eh, semantics.

"I know it’s not a date. Why would I won't to date you, you're a guy." Erin muttered out when Tim pointed out that this was not a date. She knew that, she didn't want it to be a date. Unless he was going to lost his manhood and grow a chest, Erin was not interested. At all. Now his girlfriend, that Erin could go for, but of course she would not dare say or try a thing like that. "You can't cheat on someone with someone’s else who does not want to go out with you. I'm a lesbian, and proud of it." Erin pointed out as she muttered more things under her breath.

She had offered to pay because money was not a problem for her and she was just trying to be nice to him. Still, if he wanted to pay for himself, then that was fine to. So long as they went and saw the movie together, that was what she cared about at the end of the day. She nodded her head when he spoke up not thinking that she as trying to make a move on him or anything. The furthest things from her mind, well not anymore since he pointed it out, but she was not thinking on it in a way like she wanted to do it.

"Your humor worries me sometimes." Erin pointed out as she followed Tim over to the ticket counter. Hey, she was a white girl with red hair and he was saying things like that and it made her wonder if he had like kids bully him or something because of the color of his skin. She figured that the world was past that phase and now it was the whole sexuality and gender changing that was the hot topic to tease on. Then again, she tended to stay away from the parts of the internet that were not about video games, because she did not care at all about people's views on things going on in the world. Hell she didn’t care about anything going on in the world other then things that related to video games. "Can I at least pay for our snacks?" Erin spoke up, feeling like she had to pay for something for him.

Erin's protest had Tim chuckling and nearly shaking his head. Of course he knew that she preferred girls: that had practically been part of their first conversation, along with a slight awkwardness as Tim talked about his girlfriend. It had partly been an act on Tim's part, his teasing and pointing out their situation. But he really should have known better: most of the jokes that Erin actually got from him were the nerdier reference based ones.

"Chill, I know," he said, holding out a hand. "Still paying for my ticket." Not that Erin could have particularly stopped him by this point. He'd already reached the counter and showed off his student ID. Money passed the counter and soon Tim was holding up the ticket and stepping aside for Erin to purchase hers.

"Uh, sure," he said, looking to the snack counter. "I'm down for getting some popcorn or something," Tim was already adjusting his jeans and the shirt he wore, under which he'd already strapped a few bags of candy and at least one bottle of soda. Because that shit was expensive and Tim had expensive hobbies and a girlfriend to take care of.

He waited till they were a bit away from the counter to lean over to explain. "I've got, like, a bag of raisinets stuff in my shirt. Who pays for this stuff? Except the popcorn, I guess," he had to look at that and take a breath. "That stuff's gold. Sometimes literally."

Tim was chuckling, which meant that he really was just saying it to mess, tease, or something along those lines. It had her giving him a small glare, wondering why guys were like that with her. Well, Time was honestly the nicest of the guys she had dealt with. His friend; well he was with the machines so he was almost on enemy status. Then her first 'friend' Quinn was still a jerk to her even after having to deal with her months. She already planned that they were going to have a movie hangout in her room instead of the actual movie theater.

That way she could make him leave and not miss out on a movie. Compared to being in a movie theater and risk getting emotional and using her power because of him possibly being mean to her. It was just a precaution. "Fine. You think you would be game for wiggle your way out of expenses that were not for your girlfriend or your passion." Erin spoke up as she went up to the counter, showed her ID, and paid once Tim moved out of the way. He seemed at the very least game for letting her buy popcorn, but nothing else.

Perhaps he had eaten before he showed up, but soon she got the real reason as they headed towards the snack counter at first. "I do or if I'm going to sneak in stuff, I just sneak in all the way." Erin said. By that she meant, that if she was going to bother sneaking in food then she was going to go as far as hiding herself as well and sneak into the movies. She had done that several times and she would have done it now if she thought Tim was the kind of guy who would want to skimp around on certain rules.

Like how you were not allowed to bring in outside food and well sneaking in the movies was in general breaking some rule. "You clearly need to live in Japan a little. Then you will laugh at how prices over here are." Erin said as she chuckled a little, going up to the counter to pick up some popcorn. "Go ahead and get us some seats. I'll find you." Erin said, trying to keep herself calm and focused as she went to order the popcorn.

"Well, yeah," Tim admitted, adding a slight shrug. "I don't want to be flinging my money away. Not like I'm gonna go make it rain or anything. I just don't like screwing over people I actually like is all."

Didn't stop him from agreeing for the whole popcorn thing. If it had been another dude, he probably would have been fine with the friend buying the ticket. Could always pay it back later or something along those lines. Just felt a bit like cheating now, and Tim didn't quite know all the "rules" with regards to this whole dating thing.

So yeah, safe instead of sorry, especially with Lux. Tim was pretty sure he'd walk over burning coals to make her happy or at least, make her not unhappy.

The safe thing pretty well only applied to the girlfriend. Tim let out a laugh as Erin insisted that she'd sneak in everything if she had a chance. "Dude, I'd kill to be able to do that," Tim admitted. "That's the BS thing about my whole power. Unless there's a bat around, the best I can do is walk around in the dark and not bump into stuff."

Which, admittedly, was still more useful than some powers. Still, Tim couldn't help but think that he'd somehow ended up getting screwed by Fate in the power department. He definitely didn't want to dwell on it though.

Just like he didn't want to dwell too much on the whole Japan comment. He kept forgetting that Erin had apparently spent time there or something. He was pretty sure he could be forgive that, given how very white she happened to be.

"You sure?" Tim asked, already taking a few steps away from her. "'cuz I'll totally wait with you if you want?" He barely waited for her to confirm before hurrying off though. because yeah, he'd have waited if she'd insisted, but it was also super important that the two of them got some decent seats, and that meant getting into the theatre sooner rather than later. Tim knew just where to head too: right up to the front center. Because he wanted to be able to throw stuff and yell at the screen mostly interrupted, thank you very much.

Erin could not help but to slightly chuckle at the make it rain comment, since it had her picturing Tim in a strip club and she could not see him surviving in such a location. Hell, Erin could not see herself surviving in such a location without passing out, running, or going for the classic anime nose bleed from all the lovely ladies. Erin certainty could make it rain for them, but for now she needed to focus on the movies and not half naked girls. "It's not screwing me over if I'm offering it." Erin pointed out but she was not going to keep forcing the matter.

If Tim wanted to pay for his ticket, then it was his choice and she was not going to change it. Erin honestly didn't get why Tim was worried about well anything when it came to her. If anything, his worry should have been that Erin was going to try and still his girlfriend; and that was impossible. So really he didn't have anything to worry about when it came to his relationship with Erin or Lux, unless it was him pissing her off and making an enemy out of her. The latter was a higher possibility out of anything else that Tim might have been worried about.

"My power is pretty awesome." Erin said, the ego boost helping her be even bolder, but then again she didn't have a problem being bold around guys that much. They were not females and so long as they were not jerks then she was able to be herself. "Just think of it that there is someone out there with a worse power then you." Erin suggested, and there probably was. Someone with the lame ability to just see far or well any ability that was just enhanced sense. What was good about being able to smell dog poo from miles away?

Erin just nodded, already noticing that Tim was already heading out anyways. She saw no point in them both waiting in line and he could go and get them good seats. There were likely to be a decent amount of people in the movie so she wanted seats where they could be more or less away from everyone else. It would not take that long for her to get them both some popcorn; and a drink for herself, so when she had it all she headed to the theater room her movie was playing in.

Her eyes were already looking around for Tim and it was pretty easy to spot him out in the front row. "Like the surround sound?" Erin asked as she approached her friend, holding out his popcorn for him to take before she would grab a seat.

Okay, technically Erin had a point: if she was offering, then chances were pretty good that she could handle the offering. Still, Tim didn't want to take advantage of his friend, and he couldn't help but feel especially paranoid about the whole dating thing. The latter only made so much sense in his mind, considering that she was pretty damn gay and he was pretty damn taken but, well, sometimes his brain just didn't make sense. That was just how it worked.

His brain did work as she mentioned her power. He had to let out a laugh. "You'll have to show me sometime," he said, before raising his brows, "and if there's someone lamer, I haven't met them yet," but somewhere there did have to be someone who just bounced or something. Tim did suppose that his wasn't quite the worst: he could do bat things after all, and that had some potential, right?

Like finding his way out when the lights went out in a theatre. He didn't need that to find his seat in front center though, and may not with the actual movie going. Right now, he was sitting in the front row, dead center, waiting and staring up.

"Oh, it'll be sweet," Tim said, grinning wide and gesturing for Erin to take a seat, "might even drown out my acting out my people's standard ritual and yelling at the idiots on screen." Which he was definitely looking forward to. It was, after all, half the fun.

Erin didn't get where Tim's brain was with his worry of taking advantage of her or this whole worry about anyone thinking that they were a thing or something. He was taken by a pretty girl that he would be an idiot to mess things up between them. That and Erin was super gay so she didn't feel that way about him. At all. She even only considered them friends on the loosest of terms like she did with pretty much everyone she talked or hung out with. It was just hard to know if people were her actual friends or not when she was not used to having real life ones for so long. Yes, she had several ones off of the internet but that was different for several reasons.

"Sure, if we run out of snack and you really don't want me to buy you anymore, then we can use my power to sneak some." Erin informed him. She had no problem using her power for bad things from time to time. She was not actually the good type of girl and only really ever behaved because of deals she made with her father. "You need to get out more then or do some more people watching around our school." Erin pointed out. She was not even all that social and she knew of others who had less then awesome powers just from watching people from a distance. Most of those people being females, but they were still mutant people so it counted.

She quickly joined him up in front, taking a seat once away from him and made herself comfortable. The only reasons she didn't sit right next to him was because she didn't want to hear him say anything about them looking like a couple or anything like that. Erin was looking forward to seeing the movie (even if Raku has yet to see it), she had a feeling it was going to be really good. She gave him a look as she already started to eat some of her popcorn. "If you get too loud I'll use my power so we don't bother those around us." Erin pointed out, because her power did also work for canceling out noise after all.

"Hmm, that sounds a bit illegal...' Tim mused. Though he was already pulling drinks out of his pockets and from he'd taped them across his chest. the thought of using powers like that struck him a bit as being the whole "path to super villiany" thing, but, well, he also couldn't really see any reason not to outside of that.

Oh well, they were already situated at the front, snacks pulled out, in position to look up at the screen and enjoy Joss Whedon's latest masterpiece. Tim wasn't quite as big a Whedonverse fan as some people, but even he could appreciate the Avengers set (and Buffy, because who didn't like that? Nazis, that's who)

"How does that work anyway?" Tim asked, turning to look at his friend. The light of the movie screen had started painting their face in odd colors while local ads began cycling through. "Like, you just wave your hands and a bubble of not noticing shows up or something?" Definitely sounded better than his own power. Then again, from Tim's perspective, nearly every power sounded better than his.

"Because it is. Worse then you sneaking things in here, but both would equally be stealing from the profits the theater makes from selling snacks." Erin pointed out. She was not saint. She had done it before with other things. However; more often than not she would pay for things that she wanted because she had the money to do so. She really only sued her power for even when she was getting revenge on someone, trying to learn more about them, or her occasional creeping on girls. Nothing too bad, depending on how you looked at it.

Not like her creeping on girls was on the level of watching them in the shower or anything like that. It still depended on what you viewed as bad at the end of the day...or what society viewed as bad but Erin didn't care to get into such things. Erin was ready to be silent for the film but then Tim was asking how her power worked. "No, no hand waving and something like a bubble but it's not able to be seen either. It's a mental based power. I basically just like...I think it and I sent out like a sense blocker of sorts. It prevents people from being able to see or hear me and whatever I'm trying to conceal within a certain radius." Erin said, doing her best to explain it.

She wondered if the whole affecting her eyes was important but she left it out for now. "Say I wanted to hide us in case you were getting too loud. I could do that so umm...pretty much everyone in here would no longer hear a thing either of us say or even see that we are sitting here. Have to do it right to make the chairs not vanish with us, but that’s how my leet power works in short." Erin explained, munching on the popcorn the whole time and taking a quick soda sip.

Good to note that Erin didn't have issues with stealing stuff. Somehow Tim had this creeping feeling that would come back to matter more in some distant future or something, but he definitely wasn't going to think on it more than he necessarily had to. Plus, there was the whole description of the power thing. The more Erin talked, the more two things came to Tim's mind.

the first was his usual reaction: someone else has a cooler power than me. He could, at best, make bat noises and talk to one of the more annoying animals on the planet. Erin could become functionally invisible and drag someone along with her. Kinda easy to see which one of them got the better end of the deal there.

The second was that he really should have asked about this earlier, and that made him a crappy friend and a crappy mutant rights activist. Then again, he did seem to recall asking her to interview, so he might have just misplaced that file or not gotten into the details or something.

Which was definitely a problem he was fixing now: "Yeah, the hearing thing sounds cool and all," he admitted, before splaying his fingers and gesturing around them, "But if we, like, vanished, that would leave open seats," he raised his brows, "you really think that's a good idea in a theatre? 'cuz I don't want some fat guy to decide that he wants the front row..."

Erin did her best to explain her power in a way that anyone could understand, but really she personally didn't think it was that entire complex. She messed with the way people could see and hear in a certain radius around her. So yes, a person that was far enough away would be able to see and hear them, but at that distance they would be hard to see and hear anyways. So the ability was great in the ways a person actually needed it. Erin also knew that she was hidden from cameras on some level, except those that picked up heat since her power didn't mask the heat coming off her body.

Had she not had a father like she did and a career plan for the future, she would have likely ended up being a cat burglar along with a hacker, the bad kind. So thanks to a good farther who did his best to make sure Erin didn't go to 'the dark side', Erin for the most part was a good kid. Relatively speaking, but Tim didn't have anything to worry about so long as he didn't piss her off in any way, shape, or form. Tim had never asked her about her power before, at least not that she could remember but it was not that big of a deal. He did offer her an interview spot, but she had yet and still had no plans of showing up to do it.

While she did want to be supportive of her friend, talking to a camera which would then be viewed by other people was not cool. IT was cool to live stream your video games and people just hear her voice, but she never actually showed her face when streaming. She just didn't like the fact that it removed the mystery behind who was the gamer on the other side. Half of life’s enjoyment was the mystery and wonders of what something was like. "I can't just make us not able to be heard...at least I don't know how to do that." Erin pointed out when he spoke of how the hearing bit was basically fine but hiding would not be so good. "True, I don't want to be sat on, so that just means you need to not get too loud then." Erin responded, looking to the screen when the commercials kicked in.
