Elsa smirked as Liz at least got the joke, even if it was a poor one that Elsa had made quite often. She waited a few more seconds for the answer, nodding. It didn't surprise her that the powers were more interesting to people; they always wanted to know what they needed to be careful of around her, and, well, they still didn't usually get it right.
"I read minds, and it's slightly different then most. You'll forgive me for not going into too much detail, mostly because it's boring and I'm half-lecturing you as is. But for me, entering a room filled with people is a lot like a bibliophile entering a library. I start skimming titles and can get distracted very easily, start picking up books and what not, but, if I focus, I can also just walk through and find a nice, quiet table and do what needs doing," Elsa nodded, figuring that summed it up.
"As for college: we've one of the best programs in the country, because quite a few mutant professors like to stay with us and we're very well funded. For students that opt to stay, it's mostly a matter of shifting from the younger dorms to the older ones, then you attend classes in the college sectioned portion of campus. Most everything else is fairly similar to how it is now," Elsa finished there too, feeling that she'd just summed up both pretty easily. She'd also clearly answered the questions before, given how very easily the answers came to her.

Elizabeth listened intently, genuinely curious as to how Elsa coped with her ability. It seemed like she had a generally good hold on it and that was rather impressive. It had been close to six years for Elizabeth and she still couldn't really turn her body temperature on or off at a command.
She felt a little jealous of Elsa, which she didn't even try to hide.
It was clear that Elsa had a knack for speech. She may see herself as the backup for Erika but Elizabeth could see why she was the one who always backed Erika up.
"Okay. Well...thanks! That clarifies things a lot. It's definitely food for thought." She nodded before drawing a sip from her cooling down beverage. "I feel like I've been interviewing you since you stepped in. I hope you hadn't minded." She grinned.

The jealousy thing was also something that Elsa had grown used to. People often reacted that way around her, and she tried not to let it feed her ego. Just a few moments alone with Erika would be enough to knock Elsa's ego down a few pegs, even when she was picking her sister up after she'd fallen.
It seemed like the answers had been at least somewhat satisfactory for Liz though. Elsa nodded, smiling slightly, glad to have at least helped inform Liz a little further. She chuckled at the mention of interviewing, nodding, her lips in a tight smile.
"That happens a lot with me. It probably doesn't help that I'm obviously more comfortable with it," she said, before looking at Liz and cocking a brow. "Besides, what else are you going to ask me about? Fashion? Boys?" Elsa chuckled wryly, shaking her head. she knew where her strengths and weaknesses lay, and she didn't see any reason to linger on them longer than necessary.

"It shows." Elizabeth smiled with a nod. Elsa's question caught her off guard before she chuckled and shrugged. "Hey don't tempt me. I could talk about boys all day long if you prompt me."
Yes. Boys. Well, one boy in particular. What could she say about herself that nobody was surprised by? She was a romantic, if she could talk about her boyfriend all day, she would.
"But girl you are rocking that outfit, what is that, Versace?" She was mainly teasing by now, if the smile on her face wasn't obvious.

Was it a good thing or a bad thing that her comfort showed? Well, Elsa supposed she didn't need to sit there and completely dissect her feelings on the matter. Obsessing over every little detail wasn't going to help either of them understand the situation. Besides, Liz's mind had already drifted back to Beau.
Not that Elsa could really blame the girl: Elsa had been the one to bring up the whole boys thing, and she knew full well who Liz's "boy" was right now. She did smile slightly as that was literally the only boy that popped into her mind. It vaguely occurred to Elsa that she couldn't suggested "girls" as well, considering that both she and Liz were fairly open about that part of their sexuality. She just didn't want to be seen as hitting on Liz.
the smile turned into laughter though, shaking her head. "I think it is, actually," she said, mildly amused. She looked down. "I usually try to stay ahead of the curve, mostly so I don't end up embarrassing myself," which was part of the reason Elsa did anything, for that matter. She paused though, looking over at Liz. "How would you know fashion though? You don't really strike me as someone who would keep up with those sort of trends. Or did you just make a lucky guess?" She quirked a brow, clearly suspecting the latter to be the most accurate.

Had Elsa actually asked about girls, Elizabeth wouldn't have known who she would be thinking about then. It was odd though that, despite her non-committal nature, Elizabeth was fairly committed to Beau. She hadn't really been seeking out other partners ever since she fell for the Southern charmer.
Yes, there were some choice girls and boys that she was highly attracted to but for some reason, it didn't appeal to her to do anything with them. She was just genuinely happy with Beau right now. And she did see herself being very happy with him for a really long time.
The surprise on Elizabeth's face couldn't be any clearer when Elsa kind of confirmed her guess. "Oh my God no, that was totally a lucky guess. I shop at Walmart, man. It's not exactly couture." She pointed to her cheap printed tee and cutoff jeans with a chuckle.

It always surprised Elsa when she ran across a free mind. People often ended up opening up around her, at least mentally, because the ability worked in that manner. Elsa called it the elephant principle most of the time. This time, it seemed that Liz had named her elephant Beau and decided it was the cutest, most huggable elephant to ever exist. At least Liz seemed happy, which was more than Elsa could say for the vast, vast majority of people she'd met, including nearly everyone at this school.
Lucky guesser on top of all that. Almost unfair, to have it all together. Then again, someone had to, didn't they? And Elsa thought that she was looking more at a duck or swan: all the action happened to keep things moving smoothly.
Elsa did look at the clothing though, nodding. "Sometimes people work well with what they have. You know," she hesitated, licking her lips, "we could... go shopping, if you'd like. With my parents' money, of course. Though technically I received a trust at eighteen so I have some of my own but, well, it's more fun to spend theirs." Elsa smiled, nodding, clearly half making the decision for Liz.

Elizabeth actually felt a little pride in her clothing when Elsa commented on it. Though she didn't let it get her head too big, lest she couldn't fit through doors anymore. Disastrous.
When Elsa suggested they go shopping together, Elizabeth thought she was kidding. And then Elsa went on to say that they were going to do it on her parents' dime, and Elizabeth started to think she was going nuts. Was Elsa actually offering to buy her new clothes?
"Uh, um..." she tried to remember whether she had any money left from her paid gigs at the bars that she hadn't spent on food. When was the last time she had actually spent money on clothes?
Elsa seemed decided on the idea and Elizabeth just couldn't say no so she hesitantly went: "...yes?" She would have to scrounge up some more money if she had to take a guess at Elsa's taste. Basically it was going to be expensive. Maybe she could splurge on a nice top. Maybe.

Elsa had to roll her eyes as she picked up what Liz wasn't saying. Really, it wasn't as if the girl didn't already know that Elsa was picking up every thought, not to mention that even if she hadn't, Elsa could have practically read between the "ums" and the hesitation.
"Do I need to remind you that I'm stupidly rich with no real need for most of my money?" she asked, focusing her attention on Liz. "Obviously I'm trying to buy your favor so that you'll be more amendable to me in the future," which was a half-truth, but one that fit quite well with her persona, so Elsa forged forward with it. "Besides, you're probably going to want to spend your money impressing that boy of yours. Though in my experience, boys are usually more impressed when you show up with less clothes."
She rose, smoothing over her clothing. "Besides, every girl should have at least one expensive dress, one pair of ridiculous shoes, and, well," she smiled a little slyly, "one garment that will make a lover's jaw drop."
All of which Elsa had, which she supposed should be quite implied by what she said, if nothing else.

Elsa's reassurance caught her off guard a little and she sheepishly grinned, rubbing the back of her neck.
"But I'm already amendable to you." She joked before sighing her compliance. It wasn't that she wasn't appreciative but it was so weird receiving such generosity from someone she hadn't even talked to before today. Then she figured, this must be what it's like to live on the other side of the fence. Elizabeth may be middle class but Elsa's world might as well be another planet.
What Elsa was saying was true. But Elizabeth thought her prom dress was enough already. Then again, why in the hell was she arguing about fashion with someone who clearly had more sense in it than her?
The jaw-dropping garment remark made her snort and giggle. The embarrassing fact that they hadn't even talked about sex yet came up before she tried to cover it up. Though it was probably a little too late anyway. Her cheeks heated up and she shook her head. "Well...it couldn't hurt." She chuckled sheepishly.
"When...do you wanna go? I mean, obviously I've got nothing to do anymore."

Elsa smirked at the joke, tempted to change "amendable" to "beholden," but that felt a little bit sly, even for her. Besides, it might be tipping her hand just a little too much. Besides, it was more interesting to remain silent and attentive to those various thoughts that kept marching through Liz's head. Always interested her whenever someone thought of her in class terms, though she couldn't stop from doing it herself that often.
"Your prom dress is quite striking, but trust me, you'll want something slinky and black soon enough," said Elsa, smirking as she realized that she'd addressed thoughts. Liz was already snorting and giggling about sex, heating and everything. "If you want, we could even make a day of it, hit a spa and get some primping or what have you," Elsa shrugged. She wasn't even entirely sure this was a great idea. She very rarely enjoyed those activities, though she did want to experience them from time to time. Appearances mattered, after all, and, well, she thought that maybe it would be something that Liz would like too.
"I'll need to check my schedule," she had to finally admit. "And I believe there's this camping trip coming up, which I'm sure you'll want to attend," and Elsa didn't. "So, we could tentatively schedule it for after that? Wouldn't want you to muss up anything on the trip, after all."

It was still pretty weird that Elsa had insisted in getting her some new clothes to essentially impress Beau. While Elizabeth was very confident that Beau liked her just the way she was, she did think a little razzle dazzle wouldn't hurt her cause though.
When Elsa responded to her thoughts, the pyrokinetic chuckled and shrugged. "Yeah, I guess." She responded, getting just a tad excited over the prospect of playing dress up.
"Oh wow...that's...yeah that sounds nice." Elizabeth smiled. Despite her boyish tendencies of roughing it out with the best of them, Elizabeth also relished in the thought of spa days where she could just pamper herself silly.
"Of course! Yeah, definitely after the camping trip. I intend to dig myself into the dirt if need be so having them cleaned after would be an absolute treat." She smiled, briefly wondering how in the world they went from being virtually strangers to planning out spa cum shopping days. And all because of a mistake with the post.
"Thank you, Elsa! I'm getting excited already." She giggled, running her fingers through the hair in her ponytail.

Elsa smiled, feeling the enthusiasm catching. She'd still have to arrange things, book them some time in the local spa, clear her schedule, all that. But that kind of organizing and work went well for Elsa: she practically lived off it. the hard part had been convincing Liz to come along, and that part now lay behind them.
"Yes, I imagine you'll smell of fish. Probably lake too, with just a hint of Beau," said Elsa, smiling a little. She arched her brow at the thought train. "Isn't that how it always works? Chance meetings and all. It's not like we didn't know about each other. Stop worrying overmuch about it," she waved a hand dismissively, then paused for a bit. Should she offer for someone else to come along? It might make her look generous...
it also could mean opening the door for, say, Frank Cox to come along, and Elsa had done wonderfully well at avoiding the girl so far. "Well, I'll make sure to let you know when I get things cleared and believe me," she leveled a sly smile on Liz, "I'm quite good at making sure that these things are cleared. I have things to get to now, unfortunately," Elsa nodded, moving toward the door. She didn't quite want to go running off, not wanting to look like she was running away from the conversation. She did have some excitement of her own over the whole thing, after all.

"Highly likely, yes." She grinned, hugging herself around her waist with a smile. Agreeing completely with the brunette's assessment, Elizabeth nodded, her smile widening. "I won't. No worries." She chuckled before tilting her head curiously when Elsa paused.
But it turned out to be nothing as she made plans with Elizabeth. Oh she was so excited. An all expense paid spa day? Who wouldn't love that?
"You're definitely something." Elizabeth smiled genuinely. And when Elsa announced she was leaving, the blonde pursed her lips and smiled, sad to see her newfound friend go but of course the other girl couldn't stay long. That would be weird. The girl had better things to do than to make idle chatter with Elizabeth.
"Alright." She jumped up and went to the door, opening it so Elsa could walk right through. But before Elsa could go, Elizabeth threw caution to the wind and wrapped the other girl in a warm embrace. Literally.
"You...know my dorm room. Just let me know if you need me to do anything for the spa day."

Definitely something, yeah, Elsa got that a lot. She didn't usually hear it in a way that sounded almost like a compliment though. She couldn't help but smile at that, and Liz's thoughts acknowledging the circumstance only added a little more curve to the smile.
When Liz moved though, Elsa almost started. She opened her mouth, excuses ready to be used. To her surprise, Liz hugged her. Elsa stiffened immediately, her entire body becoming almost uncomfortable tense. Her fingers worked, clenching and releasing for a few moments. Her breath even caught for a few seconds, shuddering there. The arms didn't move. They didn't hug Liz back. They didn't push her away either. Elsa accepted that Liz would hug her, but she didn't make any gesture of affection back besides that.
"Will do," she said, her voice only slightly strained. She coughed and stepped back again, her face slightly flushed. Her hands worked to smooth her clothes for a moment, before Elsa seemed to realize how that looked and stilled them. "I'll see you later then," she said. Then Elsa made certain to leave, not wanting to create another awkward moment, accidental or not.
