Elizabeth nodded at Elsa's response. Her question caught her a bit by surprise before she shook her head. "We're um...he uh...I heh...we don't really talk a lot about...well I..." she shook her head and chuckled.
She felt a bit proud when Elsa likened Beau to Captain America. After the bullet he took for the school, she was pretty sure he definitely deserved the accolade.
"Good for him. I should have helped. I don't actually have an excuse other than wanting to clear my head before diving into thinking about the future and whatnot." She shrugged. "But hey, once I'm done packing, I would definitely pitch in any way I can." She nodded, feeling just a smidge embarrassed at her lack of help.
"You seem to have things pretty figured out." Elizabeth smiled widely, a little jealous of the Bellefonte simply because she wasn't so put together at the moment.

Elsa quirked a brow, first at Liz's little bit of pride there, seeing as Elsa could of course pick up on it, but also because of the words that soon followed. Most people wouldn't have thought of actually volunteering their time. "Perhaps the two of you could work together at it," suggested Elsa, trying to sound like she wasn't attempting to plant some kind of idea. "Pitch in, maybe even make a thing of it."
Because having the adorable power couple doing that sort of thing would make it "trendy" and could help them quite a bit, in the future, if not entirely now. After all, they'd all but cleaned things up now. It really wasn't using people if you nudged them toward things they were likely to do anyway, right?
"It's all the practice," replied Elsa to the question, a sly smile on her face. "I'm used to looking out for Erika and arranging things. I've been training to do this for all of my life, after all. Somebody had to." She said the last without any malice or frustration, not to mention a slightly confident smile. Elsa had technically come out of the shadows more lately, and it seemed to be working alright. But she had no problem with going back in there, letting Erika shine while they moved things forward.
After all, that was her lot in life, now wasn't it?

Nodding at Elsa's suggestion happily, the blonde smiled. "I'll talk to him about it soon."
And part of Elizabeth also kind of got taken in by the brunette. She was actually quite charismatic, now that Elizabeth was talking to her. She briefly wondered why she had been so afraid of the other Bellefonte.
Being the youngest out of six brothers, Elizabeth hadn't really had much practice when it came to taking care of people. She had always been the one being cared for. Not to say she was a spoilt brat; she thought she was pretty balanced when it came to her dependency on people. Yes, she was clingy as all hell (she just loved physical contact) but her dad and brothers always called her out on her bullshit and never let things slide. But it didn't teach her much about looking out for people.
"That's pretty awesome. You'll do an awesome job with the school, I can tell." Elizabeth offered a warm smile before taking a sip of her soda. "Hey, I'm glad we're talking now. I'm sorry we never did before. I think part of that came from me being a little...um...intimidated by you I guess?" She laughed sheepishly. "You always seem so...on top of things."

Charismatic? Elsa Bellefonte? Had Liz gotten her Bellefontes crossed? Then again, Elsa could be convincing when she wanted something from someone. Especially given that she could pluck information from someone's brain and turn it against them without thinking twice about it, something that she did far, far too often. Like now, for that matter. Though she nodded and slyly smiled, wondering even if she could somehow use the two in some kind of campaign.
Awesome, awesome, that had Elsa smiling too, especially as she was fairly certain that Liz didn't even notice. The girl was already gushing and smiling, making it quite obvious why she was so well liked in the school. She really hadn't been expecting people to vote for her for something like prom queen? She practically radiated "like me" vibes.
"most of my sister's friends like to pretend I don't exist," Elsa replied, shrugging slightly. "I'm used to it by now. There's quite a lot of difference between us and it can be... jarring to people who are close to her," she didn't want to admit to the whole feeling runoff that often came from just reading so many complimentary thoughts. Elsa felt like she knew Liz well enough just by reading Erika's thoughts on her.
"Also I'm the scariest bitch in the Academy," said Elsa off hand, raising her brows and smirking. "I apparently took the title from Ellen when she was caught giggling with Frank Cox." Technically gossip, but, well, gossip that everyone pretty much knew by now anyway.

Of course, Elizabeth was very much taken into by Elsa, thinking that her diplomatic and business-like conduct was charismatic. No doubt, whoever was nice to her and spoke properly was charismatic to the blonde.
It was quite possible that she didn't know what charismatic meant. But she sure as hell felt Elsa was exactly that.
Elizabeth wasn't a very good expression identifier but there was a lot about Elsa's expressions that were uniquely hers despite the Bellefonte twins looking like carbon copies of each other. The sly smile for instance, on Erika it looked playful, always playful but on Elsa, it looked dangerous.
It made the blonde a bit sad actually, hearing Elsa say she was used to being non-existent. Had Elizabeth been like that too? She sure hoped not. It wasn't so much her pretending Elsa didn't exist more so the fact that she wished Elsa would be less intimidating.
The sudden derogatory made Elizabeth snort and giggle before she slapped a hand over her mouth and nose, looking at Elsa apologetically. But the bit about Ellen and Frank having been friendly at prom caught Elizabeth by surprise. The one instance she had had with Ellen kind of proved that gossip was just fodder for the close-minded.
Lowering her hand, Elizabeth offered Elsa a smile. "I'm not one to believe in gossip-fuelled titles. My friend had been called something that was very unlike her in the gossip blogs so I tend not to regard them as true." She shrugged. "I mean yeah you're intimidating but scary bitch seems a bit much. To me, anyway."

Elsa raised her brows. "You're not the first person to tell me that reputation and gossip doesn't matter for much. You are, however, probably the first person who's actively benefited from it, considering that you're the reigning queen and all," she meant that in the most complimentary way possible and was absolutely certain that Liz would know precisely what she meant. "You're also not getting my scary bitch side because I've no reason to be bitchy to you. It's not going to do either of us any good if I come at you with my claws extended. Not like I was interested in Beau or anything."
Elsa offered up a smile there, hoping that Liz saw it for the joke it was. Beau might be a fascinating subject for her, but she would sooner go out with Roxana then the protective Southerner. Besides, that would disrupt the power couple and their usefulness.
"Besides, for all you know, I'm sitting here sifting through your thoughts while wondering how I can best use you and your boyfriend for my benefit," added Elsa. That should demonstrate how so many people considered her a bitch, not to mention Elsa's sense of... humor, such as it was.

Not knowing how to react to Elsa's words, Elizabeth gave her a tight-lipped smile and an unsure thanks. The Bellefonte twin's next words did make her laugh. She had kind of long since accepted the fact that girls are always going to be clamouring all over Beau. Musician, hottie, Southern gentleman...what's not to like?
"I won't blame you if you were." She shook her head in amusement. Teasing of course, that much should be obvious.
Her eyebrows shot up when Elsa gave her an eerie description of what could be happening right then. Was that her ability? Elizabeth tried to recall whether she actually knew what Elsa's ability was. She gave a hesitant titter before looking at the brunette. "You're...not are you?"
She wondered if she could actually block her thoughts but then she figured she was being stupid. Even if Elsa was reading her thoughts, it wasn't like she would actually use it to manipulate them...would she?
Post by Elsa Bellefonte on Jul 17, 2014 23:15:01 GMT -6
Was that egotism there? No, Liz just thought it amusing, how Beau flirted with most every girl he met. He'd even said a few complimentary words Elsa's way, but she'd never really been interested. He just didn't fit what she normally looked for in a match, apparently. Much more interesting was the way Liz reacted to Elsa's comment.
"If I was, would I really tell you?" Elsa said, chuckling. "I'm kidding, obviously. And yes, you can block your thoughts, though it takes quite a bit of training, and yes, i might actually use them to manipulate people."
Elsa paused for a moment, running her hands along her leg for a moment before chuckling. She tossed her head a bit, letting the hair shift around her. "And now you know why people call me the bitch of Bellefonte, or whatever else they fill like adding or subtracting." Because even when she was trying, Elsa couldn't quite hide the most caustic sides of her personality.

Giving a hesitant grin and shrugged at Elsa's response. "Guess not." She replied. Elsa's next words surprised Elizabeth but only by a little bit. She wasn't sure how to react though. She didn't really have many thoughts on manipulation. For all she knew, Elsa had manipulated the whole school into thinking she was a bitch, despite not actually being one.
"So this side of you...it's deliberate?" She asked, settling into the couch as she pulled her feet up to her chin, setting aside the can on the coffee table.

"It benefits me and the whole school if everyone thinks I'm a bitch, yes," said Elsa, partially addressing Liz's thoughts and partially addressing the question itself. she nodded, flicking her fingers. "But, unfortunately, I'm pretty much 'bitchy' on my own. I'd love to analyze and explain, but I'm content."
And she was, for the most part. She just wished she had more of the contact and support that her sister did. Actually, what Elsa wanted was both: to get support, to get friends, to get.. possibly more, but she also wanted to be herself. Somehow, she couldn't help but think the two at cross-purposes, something this conversation felt to be proving all too well.
"Now you know why we probably haven't talked all that much," Elsa pointed out, her tone dry, as it so often was.
Post by Elizabeth Edison on Jul 21, 2014 3:19:05 GMT -6
Not knowing how to respond to that, she simply let Elsa read her thoughts, which were that she really didn't think being a bitch was beneficial. But to each their own, she supposed. Who was she to determine what was beneficial to someone else anyway?
Elizabeth didn't have anything else to justify herself as she shrugged, the corners of her lips pulled down in a sort of "Okay, point taken," sort of way.
Which it actually had. Elizabeth sometimes did go out of her way to make friends with everybody she met. There wasn't a person she had talked to that she didn't want to pull into her arms and cuddle forever.
Elsa hardly seemed the type to want to cuddle but hey, who knows. Maybe some day it could happen. "I don't know about you but if you don't mind, I'd like to give us a shot anyway. I mean you don't have to like me but I'd much rather have you as an ally than be against you." She admitted freely.

"You'd be surprised," said Elsa, addressing Liz's thoughts regarding the bitchiness. Now that Liz had pretty much opened them up, Elsa had no qualms about directly addressing them. She didn't have much qualms about it normally at any rate: she just often held back for people she respected on some level.
And yes, she did think that Liz went out of her way to make friends with people. So did Erika, though perhaps not quite to this degree. Elsa blinked at the thought of Liz cuddling her: more disarmingly, Liz wanting to cuddle her. At least she could better address what Liz actually said. Sometimes Elsa was grateful that people didn't just use her ability as a means to quit saying what they wanted.
"I'm not trying to make you my enemy," she said. Elsa nearly winced: defensive, and practically dancing over the border. "I don't think less of you for wanting to befriend people either. I just... don't," she shrugged, looking away for a moment. Well, that came out more awkwardly than she'd figured. That it happened to be true didn't magically bestow it with more grace or tact, mores the pity. Elsa took a deep breath and released it slowly. Well, what was she worried about. She knew who she was, and it really didn't make that much different whether she was friends with Elsa or not. Plus, she meant everything she'd said.

Elizabeth gave Elsa a lop-sided smile when she responded to her thoughts. "Does that bother you? The whole: I can read people's minds bit. Like I could see it being completely tedious. Everyone's thoughts overlapping each other..."
The fact that Elsa didn't want her as an enemy spoke volumes about the girl. At least to Elizabeth. She was pretty sure she grated on quite a few people with her sunny disposition. Hell, she was sure even her closest friends found it tedious to deal with her sometimes.
It didn't matter, the fact of the matter was, her optimism for other people far outweighed the need to care about what people thought of her.
"Well that's a good sign. I wanna try and keep tabs on people from BA when I eventually get outta here." She absent-mindedly wiped her neck that had accumulated sweat.
"So, future vice-principal...mind answering a few questions I have about college here?" She widened her smile.
Post by Elsa Bellefonte on Jul 21, 2014 23:48:16 GMT -6
Elsa raised her brows as Liz asked if her power bothered her. Bothered wasn't generally the word that people used when asking after Elsa's power. It was usually the one that people envied and wanted for themselves. Then again, so was Liz's power, especially for those that wanted something flashier, more direct.
She nodded at the mention of it being a good sign. Strange to think that everyone else would be leaving while Elsa stayed. She'd still have Erika though, and, if things kept progressing, Trevor or whomever else Erika ended up with. Probably Roxana too, since the girl appeared to have been hired as some kind of mutant bodyguard (one that Elsa wanted to hire herself).
"Vice-principal?" she repeated, quirking a brow. "It's actually a co-job, and I'd rather be dean than principal. Now, do you want to know more about college, which I do know something about, having the same name as the school and all, or do you want an answer to your burning question regarding my power?" Elsa smiled, obviously amused at having a glut of questions thrown at her. This, this she could handle. She had countless times before. It was just a matter of hammering down the silver in her tongue to be less of a knife and more of an offer.
