Instinctively, Elizabeth moved in when Beau tucked her hair back behind her ear, thinking nothing of the move. It felt a little odd though, having his hand near her face, despite it being there hundreds of times before.
Hormones, they would be the death of her one day.
"But you're the only one who does it no charge!" She exclaimed. "You guys have it easy. It's a two dollar hair cut for all y'all because you got no hair. Me? I gotta give my arm and half a leg just to get a trim." She gave him a pout before adjusting herself so she could lie on her back.
Tucking her arms under her head, she closed her eyes and answered Beau without looking at him. "I gotta torture my bestie somehow, don't I?" She grinned and used one hand to tickle the other teen in his sides. "Nah, I mean, I've always wanted to come up here but didn't wanna do it alone so why not drag you with me, ya know?
"Besides, anything to spend half a day with the best person in my life."

Beau certainly didn't mind Liz leaning just a little closer. He told himself he shouldn't be reacting to her movements or anything though; just a little gesture, her reaction to his touching her or something. Don't think too much about it. After all, Liz soon started protesting and talking about haircuts. Beau chuckled, shaking his head for a bit before watching as she laid back.
A few seconds later and of course Beau leaned back as well. He did scoot a bit, reaching for a water bottle to pop his head up. The sun still kept coming up, and he figured he might as well watch, since that was what they were there for and everything. When she mentioned torturing though, Beau just had to snort. Yeah, because obviously this was torture. Before Beau could say or do anything though, Liz had poked him, making him squirm just enough so that his head slid off the water bottle, thudding against the ground.
Best person in your life. "Well, I'd say the same, 'cept I ain't sure my best friend woulda dragged me outta bed this early," he replied, turning to stick his tongue out at her for a bit before propping himself up again, looking at the sunrise. "Seriously though, Liz, anytime you wanna do somethin' like this, you jus' gotta ask. I don't even really need a reason to spend time with ya. Though I guess it does help," he nodded and gestured at the sunrise, before refocusing his attention. It was then that Beau remembered his sandwich, and he turned to give it another bite, chewing and acting, well, like he'd never been more content and just satisfied in his life. Which was pretty accurate, all things considered.

She didn't even realise that Beau had hit his head as her eyes were closed and she was concentrating more on the fact that she was starting to sweat a little. She needed to get to a cooler place soon if she didn't want to look like a drowned rat.
"Hey, hey you. I am the best friend for even thinking of sharing this awesome moment with you. Best you never forget that." She snapped her fingers in his direction before her eyes opened and turned to look at him.
A small smile appeared on Elizabeth's face and she nudged his foot with hers. "I know. It's just nice is all." She turned back to face the sky and her smile softened. Despite her ever growing feelings for her best friend, if she wasn't even thinking of that at all, Beau was the only person she wanted to share these moments with. He was the one for her in all manner of speaking.
After a few more minutes of just enjoying the sun, Elizabeth sat up and shook her head a little to get rid of the sand and pebbles likely in her hair. "I gotta get to an AC and fast. I'll melt if I stay here." She chuckled and pushed herself off the ground to get to the bicycle. "Last one down is a rotten egg!" She called out before gathering her stuff and getting on her bike.

Beau let Liz have the whole "best friend" argument. While he certainly didn't mind play-fighting with her, he also knew damn well when to lay down and rest, especially if it gave her a little more happiness. He felt her nudging his foot, nice and all. "Know what ya mean. Great by yourself, perfect with the perfect person," replied Beau. He was tempted to put his arm around Liz and draw her close again. He figured she probably wouldn't appreciate it though, especially since he probably had the whole BO thing going on from the bike ride. Plus they'd already done some snuggling or what have you, maybe too much.
Liz moved; Beau followed, rising up. "Oh yeah, gonna melt in the horrible Montana heat," he drawled. The Southern boy might have adjusted somewhat to things here, but the regular trips back to the swampy heat of Louisiana left him with some of the advantages. "Though we'd better get goin'. Be awkward if I had to carry a canteen o' liquid Liz down."
Then he too gathered up his things, stashing everything away and securing it as best he could. Despite Liz's challenge, Beau took his time, caring more about not leaving any trace and making sure the place looked as pristine as it had been when they'd gotten there. Then, and only then, he'd hop on his bike and hurry after Liz, fairly confident that even with a head start and the downward slope (like she wouldn't wait for him), he could at least catch up, maybe even get a win in this time. She couldn't win all the time, after all.

"Exactly." She answered in a soft tone. He may just be agreeing with her but she felt slightly giddy that he chose those words.
Elizabeth was pretty sure that despite their stink, she wouldn't mind at all if he had pulled her in close. She would joke, of course, but ultimately, all she would care about were his arms around her.
It was getting ridiculous.
"You don't know how it is for me!" Elizabeth whined, fanning herself a little. "I'm a freak amongst pyros even. They're sensitive to cold while I'm sensitive to heat. What the hell though."
She giggled at Beau's statement before rushing about grabbing things.
True to his thoughts, Elizabeth did wait. What was the point of racing someone if they didn't have a fighting chance? And soon enough, she could hear him coming up behind her.
Squeaking, she hurried down, though in a split second, she knew there was no way she was gonna win. So she went down the hill and enjoyed the sharp air hitting her face. The cold was biting but to Elizabeth, it was like spring.
They finally arrived at the bottom of the hill, thankfully intact. Though she pouted slightly - jokingly, when she realised that Beau had gotten there before her. "Dangit."

Beau wondered if he'd overstepped there. Perfect person; yeah, he felt that way and he definitely thought it was true, but he didn't want to push Liz if she didn't want to be pushed. Of course, he didn't have to worry about it, seeing as the girl pushed on anyway, talking about the heat and fanning herself.
"Oh, I see," drawled Beau, nodding, "yer jus' hotter'n the rest of them. Makes perfect sense now." He added a quick wink, finishing grabbing everything. He nodded to Liz as he passed her by. Hey, she was the one who wanted to race, and now that Beau had woken up, had some sandwiches, gotten a boost from being around Liz (and wanting to show off maybe a little), he could handle the way down easy. The air felt great, and Beau loved the rush of barreling down the path, wind whipping all about him.
Beau pulled to a stop at the bottom, digging into the ground with a near crunch, before turning to greet Liz with a grin as she pedaled down. he even leaned on his handlebars a little. "Looks like I won this time," he said, nodding. "'course, you didn't have to wait. It's what you get for bein' a good sport, Edison," he chuckled a little at that, bouncing his eyebrows and stretching on the bike. They still had to get back, and who knew what the rest of the day had in store for them.

"Turn that flirt off, LaRoux. You know exactly what I mean." Elizabeth chuckled, feeling good about herself anyway.
Beau's cockiness made Elizabeth stick her tongue out at him before she threw an empty bottle at his mid-section. Who said anything about her being a good sport? She knew that he wouldn't take it personally. They roughhoused each other, it was what they did. She liked it. Of course, it had more to do with them being in close contact than anything else but still...she was glad they had that sort of friendship. No use pussy-footing around each other.
"I will get you back for this. Mark my words." She pushed off with her bike and pedaled backwards, goading Beau to catch her. "I need a cold shower, and soap. And shampoo. Ice cold water oh my God." She moaned a little, impatient to get under her shower.

Turn the flirt off? Beau was tempted to make some sly comment about how if he did that, he wouldn't be doing any talking, but they both knew that wasn't quite true. Around some girls? Probably. But Beau knew he could talk easily to Liz if it came down to it, and he planned on doing that for as long as he could. This relationship, their relationship, it was different, stronger, and he intended to make sure to keep it as strong as he could. Why else was he dancing around just outright asking one of the prettiest, most awesome girls he'd ever known out?
"Thinkin' you're already gettin' me back, tauntin' me with images of you in a shower," Beau drawled. No sooner had he said the words when he immediately regretted it. Not because of, well, what they were, but because he started thinking about it. Water hitting a nude Liz, her moaning as it washed away her heat, likely steaming against her overheated body. Yeah, definitely not the kind of thoughts that would keep Beau chaste.
"We'd better hurry," he said, trying to hide his... let's go with discomfort, adjusting himself on the bike seat as best he could. "Wanna get to the dorms before all the cold water runs out an' all."
And Beau took off, suddenly quite desperate for that cold shower.

Blinking at Beau's blatant comment, Elizabeth had to snort before shaking her head. "Sexy right?" She chuckled, rolling her eyes at how ridiculous Beau sounded. She knew his flirting was off the charts but that actually felt like...something.
She laughed when Beau started to adjust himself on his bike, even more at his ensuing comment. "Because cold water is the one that runs out all the time." She stated before turning her bike around and cycling leisurely behind Beau, distracting herself with how he looked from the back.
She bit her lower lip and sighed. "God, why did you make him like that?" She whispered to herself before chuckling lightly. "Hold up!" She yelled out.
