Beau certainly believed it, just like he felt himself believing that he was, in fact, chasing Liz, despite all appearances to the contrary. At least he could keep up with her; that should count for something. He loved that he had to struggle to keep up with her. She was just... agh, he needed to stop thinking about Liz like that. Liz loved everybody; that was just how God made her. Yeah, that kinda made her all the more awesome, but that didn't mean Beau should be making googly eyes.
Or starin' at her legs.
Beau jerked his attention up when she talked, and he began shifting the gears. "well, jus' not this early in the mornin', least without it bein' somethin' awesome. Maybe you could wear a cute cheerleader outfit or somethin'," he meant this last as a tease to match hers, even ending by sticking his tongue out. His gears finished shifting and he took off, heading up the mountain and trying to put himself ahead so he wouldn't stare. It wasn't until he got off for a few minutes before he realized he didn't know where they were going. Made him slow down, but only a little because, well, he just didn't quite trust himself yet.

Staring at him something awful at his suggestion that she get into a cheerleading outfit, Elizabeth wanted to reach out and smack him in the shoulder. "Don't be rude. I look ridiculous in a cheerleading outfit." She said in a huff before she moved forward on her bike.
When Beau moved to the front, Elizabeth chuckled and got on his level. "Dude, you don't even know where we're going." She said as she enjoyed the ride up. It was a little bumpy but she knew it was gonna be worth it up there.
They spent the rest of the trek up with idle chatter and more teases, which Elizabeth still tried to not let get to her that much. his flirting was a lot harder to take with a grain of salt than hers was. At least that was what she thought. Mostly because her flirting style was more fail than anything.
Finally, they reached the peak. With little cuts and bruises on her knees and elbows from falls earlier. She didn't make a big deal out of it and made sure Beau didn't either. She sat on the small flat surface that overlooked Kalispell and even in the dark, she could see that once the sun started to rise, it was going to be glorious.
She checked her watch and smiled when she realised they weren't that far away from the sunrise. "Let's eat. I am so damn hungry."

"Yeah, ridiculous was definitely the adjective I was thinkin'," replied Beau, not missing a step. Of course, now he couldn't quite get the image out of his mind. Might've made him petal just a little faster. Or a lot faster. All that energy and stuff. Of course, he had to slow right down because as Liz was quick to point out: he didn't have the faintest clue as to where he was going.
At least he could distract himself with idle chatter for the most part. And he could cycle beside her, which made things easier too. Then he just had to worry about the fact that he kept wanting to look to the side, and even that dimmed after a bit. Not that Beau really grew tired of looking at Liz, but he had to admit that seeing the girl pedaling and looking ahead (or giving him a weird look or a smile) did get a little repetitive after a while. Somehow though, Beau wasn't sure that he'd ever completely lose the wonder in looking at her.
No real falls from him; he managed to keep more or less on the bike. He even managed to do pretty good at keeping up too; not panting or feeling worn or anything. He'd tried to help Liz a few times, but she'd been insistent, so, well, Beau knew when not to argue. Soon enough, they'd be near enough the top. "So we're at the top of a hill, an' it's barely visible,' said Beau, waving the hand that wasn't holding a water bottle. He squirted some water into his mouth before handing the bottle to Liz, wanting her to drink before they ate.
"That's 'cuz it's breakfast time an' we're out here on top of a mountain," Beau had to point out, grinning again. He moved to sit on the flat area, having paused to get another bottle first, getting as comfortable as he could. Despite all his teasing, Beau was still convinced that Liz had some kinda plan in mind.

Elizabeth didn't think twice about the response she got from Beau, chalking it up to his boy tendencies. She knew boys fantasized about cheerleaders, or rather the short skirts they came in. Which rather disappointed Elizabeth. She quickly got it out of her head, especially when the image of him watching her in the dress invaded her mind.
She managed to sit down without much wincing despite her knee scrape being at the part where she bent it. Taking the bottle of water graciously, she put it to her lips instead of doing what Beau had done earlier. He can continue doing that later.
Chuckling at his response, she instinctively moved closer to Beau, despite feeling a little self-conscious of the sweat probably pouring out of her every which way.
She stretched her back a little as she looked out into the horizon, enjoying what little she could see and imagining the rest. A faint light was starting to creep up and she breathed in, a smile slowly forming on her lips.
Briefly, she wondered if Beau would enjoy the sunrise as much as she would. It would be a shame if he didn't since that was the whole reason they were up here. It was a small thing, admittedly. But she liked sharing the small things with her best friend.
"The reason we're here is about to appear." She grinned as she reached into her bag to fish out the sandwiches she had made earlier. Handing one over to Beau, she unwrapped hers and took a healthy bite out of it. "Mm mm mm." She did a little jig on the spot as she munched on her sandwich.
Beau noticed her wiggling closer, but tried to play it cool. Probably just wiggling. Or cold 'cuz of all that sweat. Or something. Definitely not something he should be breathing too much into or thinking about her leaning over and laying her head on his shoulder or anything like that. Nope, he should be focusing on staring out into the non-view, wondering yet again what Liz's grand plan wash ere.
He did glance at her, seeing that smile, seeing her fish out sandwiches. He took his, unwrapping it without really looking or thinking too deep. When she bit he chuckled, shaking his head. "You really enjoy your food, don't you Edison?" he said, teasing. "Or is it jus' that good?" he leaned over then, taking a light nip of her sandwich, chewing it. He put a look of speculation on his face while he did so, as if determining whether this ever so delicate flavor was worth all the noise that Liz had just made about it.
And he looked out into the distance, wondering about what she meant. It came to him about the time he swallowed though...

She simply grinned toothily at Beau when he asked the rhetorical question. Food was a simple pleasure she could indulge in simply due to her abilities. She could consume about five times the normal diet of any person and still feel hungry because she quite literally burns everything off so easily. Most of what goes into her mouth was to fuel the energy that her ability took up.
Not to mention, she actually liked exercise. And now with her self-defense classes and riding lessons, she needed that much extra food to sustain her lifestyle.
"Don't talk smack about my sammies. I like 'em." She pointed to herself and took another generous bite out of her sandwich to prove her point.
She followed his trail of vision and smiled when the sun began it's peeking. "Wait for it." She grinned and as the sun slowly began it's ascent, she sighed and didn't say a word after. It was breath taking.
And when the sun reached it's apex, she turned to Beau and bumped him on the shoulder. "Worth it right?"
The grin did stupid things to Beau's heart and head. At least Liz took his eating a part of her sandwich ins stride. But what had Beau expected? They were so used to one another, so comfortable in each other's presence, that of course they did stuff like that. It was just how they were.
"I ain't gonna talk smack 'bout your sammy. Jus' wanted to see if it's as good as you say,' insisted Beau. "An' it weren't quite that good." Didn't stop him from taking a bite of the one she'd prepared for him. Liz did have a knack for this sort of thing; Beau could certainly get used to eating her food. And no, that certainly didn't make him think of her making him breakfasts while wearing nothing but an apron over one of his football jerseys; that would just be weird.
The sun moved, and Beau stared. the sight was impressive, breathtaking. without thinking it, he took Liz's hand in his own, threading his fingers through hers, giving it a squeeze. They didn't need to say anything for a bit, but Liz was soon bumping her shoulder against Beau, insisting that this whole thing was worth it. Beau chuckled, nodding. 'Yeah, yeah, you can wake me up for stuff like this," he agreed. He moved his hand, releasing it, instead moving to put his arm around Liz, pulling her against him. It felt right, and he did it without thinking, just pulled her close, wanting to share that moment with her and make it a good one.

Scrunching up her nose cutely at Beau when he said it wasn't good, Elizabeth shrugged and continued to finish off her sandwich.
When he took her hand, part of her registered it while the rest just concentrated on the sun. She smiled when he agreed that it was definitely worth it.
Beau putting his arm around her made her melt a little before she adjusted herself so she was leaning against him happily. Her head naturally fell on his chest and she closed her eyes.
Beau glanced and saw that smile, though he practically could've felt the pleasure. Liz radiated happy when she felt it, which generally meant that she radiated happy most of the time. Beau smiled himself, a big, stupid grin that he will no doubt be embarrassed about when Liz catches him. For now though, he enjoyed having her lean against him, feeling her against his chest. His eyes remained on the horizon, but his arm curled to pull her against him, sweat and all.
Definitely worth it.
Beau watched it for a bit, using his free hand to munch at the sandwich, pausing to take a few swigs out of the water bottle. The sun rose, taking its time, and Beau didn't care that it did. He sighed, leaning against Liz for a second. He waited a beat, then grinned, whispering down at her. "You're all sweaty an' gross," he said, poking at her side, wanting to tease her. He said that, but he didn't move, didn't push her away. If anything, he pulled her a little tighter.

She was getting comfortable laying on Beau's chest when Beau decided to ruin the moment by pointing out her condition. Snorting, she got even closer, rubbing her back against him as her arms flailed about just to annoy him.
"Deal with it." She said when she finally stopped moving against him. She took the last bite of her sandwich before grabbing Beau's hand and pulling his sandwich up to take a bite out of it.
"We need to have more of these I reckon." Elizabeth said after a moment of silence. "Maybe see a sunset." She suggested, still looking out at the horizon.

"Don't I always?" Beau pointed out, snorting as she wiggled. he had to wiggle himself, mostly because her wiggling had reactions that he did not want to encourage. Just as he got comfortable, Beau started pulling his sandwich up for a bite. Soon he found himself feeding Liz, and he just sighed and rolled his eyes. Like he didn't see that coming. he took the bite right after she did, chewing while she spoke, still looking out at the sunrise.
"I'm thinkin' more sunsets," he said, "on account o' my still not likin' the whole gettin' u before Mr. Sun thing. Though i gotta admit, his mornin' show is definitely worth the look. Has to be the second prettiest thing I've seen this mornin'."
He was betting that Liz would know what the "prettiest" was, so he wasn't even going to bother to say anything about it. He did give her another wink if she looked though, before holding up his sandwich, offering it to her to finish off. Wasn't like he wasn't still hungry, but he knew there were more sandwiches and, well, he couldn't help but be a gentleman. Again.

"Yes you do." Elizabeth's smile softened before she ribbed him lightly with her elbow. "Aren't I lucky." She bit her lower lip from laughing out too loud. Happily eating when Beau fed her, Elizabeth adjusted herself so she could wrap her arms around his torso.
Wait...since when did he get abs?
Chuckling, she released him and looked up at him with a mock exasperated look. "Quit ya whining, LaRoux. Once. Just this once." She teased before leaning back on him. She was probably going to come back here again. With or without Beau. It really was a beautiful place.
When the flirting came back full force, Elizabeth snorted and ribbed him again, this time a little less gently. "How are you still single? How does nobody fall for you with lines like that?" She teased, though she didn't want his lines to ever work on anybody else. Who was she kidding? She could list ten girls off the top of her head who would probably claw at the chance to spend time with Beau on a more intimate level.
She happily accepted the rest of his sandwich before kicking the bag closer to them so he could take another if he wanted.
Yawning, she straightened her body before stretching. "Oh man, going down this mountain is gonna be a blast." She chuckled, turning to look at their path down.

"We're both lucky," said Beau, unable to stop himself. He kept flirting, after all, as Liz noticed. When she asked why he was still single though, all he could do was shrug. The real reason lay against him now. Who'd want to go out with someone when they couldn't keep their mind off someone else? Maybe that was what Beau needed: ask someone else out, get things sorted. No, no, what he needed was what Matt had said: ask her out and get it over with. He had, sort of, with the whole prom thing.
The bag was kicked, and Beau was reaching for another sandwich, figuring that he'd stop at two. Technically they still had lunch and all, which Beau figured he'd probably spend with the pretty blonde. He unwrapped the sandwich, taking a bite out of it. Tasted great, almost too good. Beau got so wrapped up in it that he nearly missed it when Liz yawned, though he at least managed to get out of the way of those outstretched arms.
"Or gonna end up with one of us in the hospital," replied Beau, turning to look at the path. "Though at least we're gonna be goin' at daylight now, so ain't as likely we'll end up bustin' our heads on somethin',' he shrugged and took another bite of his sandwich. Despite his tease, Beau was pretty confident they'd be perfectly fine. He waved at Liz to come back over though. "C'mon, enjoy the moment while it lasts. Ain't no rush to get no where."

In that moment, Elizabeth wanted so badly for her abilities to be far different than it was. Telepathy for example. Because she could have sworn there was something in the way he spoke. Or was that her own wishful thinking? Shaking her head and chuckling to herself, she tried not to overthink things.
"Eh, I spose." She grinned before scrambling to get back by Beau's side. She kept her distance this time though, enjoying as the sun warmed her just as much as her own body heat did. She reached into her bag for another pack of sandwich and quietly enioyed that too.
A quick breeze picked up and blew her hair into her face and she sputtered what little that managed to get into her mouth. "Graceful." She chuckled to herself.

The sun, the situation, all one of those super great moments. Beau chuckled as Liz summed it up in a way that was just so very, very much her. Spose, not even a full word. He chuckled, shaking hsi head a little while he worked to unwrap his sandwich and dig in, once more enjoying himself. How was it that Liz managed to make sandwiches that were better than his?
Beau looked toward Liz, planning on asking precisely that, when the breeze blew. He watched the sputtering and blowing for a bit, smirking at the effort. Again, she summed it up quite succinctly. Didn't stop Beau from reaching over though, grabbing some of the loose hair and tucking it behind her ear.
"C'mon, Edison," he drawled, "I ain't your hairdresser. Get your act together," he smiled, lowered his arm, looked for perhaps a little too long, then took a bite of his sandwich, looking back out at the sunrise. He pointed with the hand still holding the sandwich. "What brought this idea on anyway? Or didja jus' wake up an' decide you should drag your best friend's butt outta bed an' see this before ya die?"
