It was a quiet and warm day around the pastures near the academy, well, more accurately a pleasant morning. It was still relatively early and the day was new enough to mean that right now, Timothy Carter found himself all alone in the pastures with the horses. That had been his main reason for coming out here, that and the fact that he liked spending time around the animals. There was something calming about watching them graze in the grass. He imagined that it wouldn't be long until one of the people in charge of the riding centre returned to resume their daily duties, when that happened he might head back to the school.
Some rock music played through his earphones as the teen turned his blue-green gaze towards the sky. A small smile graced his lips as he contemplated the falcon - no more than a silhouette in the cloudless sky - circling above and every now and then letting out a joyful cry, content at being able to stretch her wings. His hand with the heavy leather glove rested on the barrier, he looked at the piece of meat and the lure which he held. He still had some time left before he had to call the bird back and get back to his classes. For the time being, simply letting the bird fly through the sky freely gave him a sense of freedom curiously enough; as if he were the one stretching his wings.
The teen took a deep breath of warm air, this wasn't such a bad way to start the day... Peace, quiet and a flight.

OOC: It's absolutely fine!
-----
The moment Vicky had heard about there being pastures, she'd been determined to go. Did she know anything about horses? No not really. Still, they fascinated her with how enormous they were. One day she really ought to try riding them. Surely the school would let her, or so Vicky hoped. For now she was content visiting the stables and looking through all the different stalls. She really wanted to pet some of them, and managed to for some of the more curious ones that poked their heads out.
Soon she made her way out into the pastures. It amazed her they even had all this land for the horses to graze in. She could see some of them in the distance. A cry drew her attention upwards and she spotted a bird. Vicky had to peer and staring to see what kind of bird it was. Was that a falcon? Vicky had no idea if those kinds of birds were common around the area. She was still painfully new. That, and she hadn't studied up on the local wildlife. Not that she'd remember to even if she told herself she should.
Eventually her eyes dropped and she spotted someone else. Was that a staff person? No, he looked too young for it. Curious, Vicky drew closer and spotted the boy's glove. Did that mean the falcon was his? Vicky got even more curious and approached him. She adjusted the beanie on top of her head before stopping beside him. Hopefully she didn't startle him! "Hey! That your bird?" She decided to ask. It was the only conversation starter she could think of at the moment.

Timothy watched his bird as it paused in the air, hovering skilfully. He wished that he possessed her incredible vision that enabled her to see even the smallest movement of a rodent scurrying in the long grass, something which many humans would have struggled to notice if they were standing only a few feet away. Incredible really he supposed, then again, maybe she wished that she had opposable thumbs... He felt a little bit sorry for any animal which she might have set her sights upon, she could probably kill a small rabbit if she put her mind to it but generally, her favoured pray were smaller creatures. He imagined there would be plenty of them out there with all the grain for the horses around here.
He turned his head as another's voice reached his ears. She was still too far away for his telepathy to pick up on her thoughts and the music blearing through his earphones had served to mask her approach. As such, he was a little surprised to find that he was no longer alone. His eyes met a young woman, a little older than him wearing a hat; did you call that a beanie or a beret? He wondered. She could have been one of the riders or staff in charge of dealing with the horses, although she seemed to be lacking any of the associated gear.
It took him a moment to register and react to what she had said to him. Quickly, he removed the earphones from his head. "Huh? What? Oh..." His eyes drifted up to the still hovering bird. "Yeah..." He wondered if this stranger was here to tell him to stop what he was doing. There weren't any rules that he knew of about falconry on the academy grounds but then, it was hardly a common problem.

Before Vicky actually reached the boy, he seemed to notice her. Luckily that meant she wouldn't scare him with her approach. From what she saw as she drew closer, he was wearing earphones. Maybe he wouldn't hear her after all? She wouldn't mind all that much. As long as he didn't mind her company out on the pastures. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case, since she really wanted to stay. Although maybe he'd been alone on purpose?
He didn't speak at first when Vicky spoke up herself. She blamed the headphones mainly, but he could've also not wanted to talk. But eventually he removed his headphones and spoke up. So it was his bird. Vicky had to stare up in awe. Her little pet Sniffles would be eaten up in a hot second by this guy's pet. Even with that fact, she couldn't help but be impressed. A falcon of all things! Vicky had never met anyone with one for a pet before.
"That's amazing!" She breathed, a smile forming on her face. She glanced back over to the boy. "I've never met anyone with a falcon for a pet before. She's super cool." She looked back up. What Vicky wouldn't give to be seeing through that falcon's eyes right now. The sight from that high up would probably be amazing. Something Vicky would definitely want to paint. "What's here name? Oh, for that matter, what's yours?" She offered him a smile. "I'm Vicky."

Timothy tilted his head slightly as he fixed the newcomer trying to work out just what she could possibly want. Generally, he didn't like being disturbed. His time alone was rather special to him, doubly so when he was spending it with his bird. As such, he was somewhat irritated by the presence of another currently intruding. Even if he was aware that he didn't own this land and that it wasn't unreasonable for another to want to spend time here, his need for solitude could be a powerful force sometimes, especially when he knew he would likely be faced with others later during the day.
He called the Argent back down when the girl began asking about her. The falcon was a little reluctant but the promise of a treat served to get her to swoop back down and land peacefully on his gloved hand. He offered her some meat which she gladly accepted and gulped down. "Her name is Argent." He declared smiling faintly as the falcon eyed him begging for some more food which - being a little soft-hearted - he caved in and gave her. "And I'm Timothy."
He might have left it at that and walked off, were it not for the memory of his recent encounter with Tiana. For once, he hadn't been cold and instantly brushed someone off. He cast a glance to his falcon once more, she still needed a little more wing stretching... With a quick flick of his wrist, he let her fly off once more. "Nice to meet you. What are you doing up here, Vicky?"
