With his laptop bag slung across his shoulder, Xander Scott pushed through the doors of Cool Beans. He was immediately engulfed in the smell of fresh brewed coffee. A smile touched his lips, but it did not stay long when he saw the long line of people queuing from the front of the counter.
Oh well, he supposed he should have expected it for coming out this early. People were getting their daily coffee fixed before heading to work and all that sort. The boy did not have a class that morning but he did not want to spend his free time at home. With his mom. The thought of having to play another round of monopoly or whatever family board game she had in mind sickened him. No way. So he packed his laptop and went out the door.
As he waited in line, Xander was met with a few of his fans. It seemed his status as Britain's eye candy racer did not go unnoticed. He entertained them, signed a few things and took a couple selfies. It felt good and just like that, he was then at the front of the line.
He smiled at the girl behind the counter. "Can I please have a cup of coffee, luv? Actually, on a second thought, make it an iced mocha."

”Thank you! Come again!”
The more Marcey said it, the more tempting it was for her to make her greeting more silly. It would certainly spice up the day she was having so far, considering nothing exciting had really occurred. Although she wasn’t too upset since that gave her more time to think. The nice thing about the coffee shop was that she got to see a lot of different faces. The bad thing however was that she wasn’t allowed to have her notebook out to sketch down details that stuck out to her in other people’s features. So Marcey was usually caught in an endless cycle of interest and frustration whenever someone caught her eye and she had to actually work. Speaking of coughing her eye, she noticed the slight disruption to the normally quiet line. Once the figure in the middle got to the front, her eyes widened.
"Can I please have a cup of coffee, luv? Actually, on a second thought, make it an iced mocha.”
Marcey swore her eye twitched for a second. Rarely ever was she angry, but at that moment she couldn’t help herself when she noticed it was him.
”You!” She said, pointing a finger at him with a scowl. ”You’ve got some damn nerve calling me ‘luv’ after you insulted my daughter!”

The smile on the boy's face was light and carefree, an effect after meeting his fans, but the smile wavered when the girl behind the counter pointed an accusing finger at him. His eyebrows shot up, confusion written clearly across his features. For a moment he thought she had mistaken him for someone else, but when he looked over his shoulder, he did not see anyone that she was particularly looking and pointing at except for him. Oh boy.
Since she mentioned having a daughter, he wondered if he had somehow offended her because he did not go out with her daughter or something. "Pardon me, lu-- mam but is this because I didn't take a picture with her earlier?" Though Xander Scott was pretty certain he had taken every picture with everyone that asked for it just now. "Look, we can rectify this immediately," he said as he brought his phone out. "Just point to me which one she is and this would be resolved."

Marcey actually felt her eye twitch at the boy's arrogance. The fact he actually thought she wanted to take a picture with him after he'd insulted her little Angie? If it were for her job and the counter, Marcey was pretty sure she'd attempt to strangle the boy.
"Look, we can rectify this immediately. Just point to me which one she is and this would be resolved."
Marcey clenched her jaw tight enough she thought she'd break her teeth. Instead she rubbed her temples and tried to calm down. Making a scene at work wasn't something she really wanted to do. However the boy was sorely testing her limit of patience. She threw him another glare, clearly pissed.
"You really think I want you taking a picture with my daughter after you told me she'd have no future? Pardon my english, but what the fuck is wrong with you?" Marcey scowled at him. "You're lucky I'm on shift or else I'd give you ass the proper butt-whooping it deserves, boy. Now how are you paying for your drink? No, we don't take autographs or pictures as payment."

The seventeen year old was confused when he saw the look the lady behind the counter gave him. She did not look particularly happy when he offered to take the picture again. If anything, she looked even more vexed he supposed. This sent alarm bells ringing in his head. Maybe she was just crazy.
Her explanation did not help the confusion Xander Scott felt. It only made him even more perplexed! The thought that she had mistaken him for someone else had not registered yet. Xander had met a lot of people and this lady might just be one of the many faces in the sea of people he thought he never saw more than once. From her reasoning, the boy tried to figure out a valid reply.
"...um cash would be fine," he said first, still trying to form a reasonable reply. He could not decide whether this lady was honestly crazy or not. He took out a twenty dollar bill and put it on the counter.
"Alright, err I'm sure I wouldn't have said something like that. You see, it's just not common to have female race drivers," he said randomly, taking a shot in the dark that maybe that was what the lady was talking about.
