Cassidy had accidentally cut herself in the middle of class so she couldn't fully heal herself within the specific time pocket due to there being too many people and she couldn't properly concentrate. She still couldn't get the hang of her ability and control it properly and being around people, where her abilities couldn't really work that well didn't help.
So off she went to the nurse's office, her palm bleeding out as she walked along the halls. She had tried to compress it but it hadn't helped. She bumped into a few people who glared at her until she arrived at the nurse's office.
Unfortunately there was someone else in front of her. Usually, she would just patiently wait her turn but the wound was starting to pulse and she knew that was a bad sign.
"I'm really sorry but do you mind if I go first? I'm bleeding out and I kinda don't wanna die from a stupid cut while dissecting a frog." She gave the person a small hopeful smile, her cheeks a little rosy from the embarrassment of speaking out of turn.
Chris grumbled to himself under his breath as he waited in the nurse’s office. It was quite obvious he was not exactly thrilled to be there. After another scuffle with a student- which really shouldn’t have been a surprise- Chris had gotten his arm cut. While it might’ve looked bad, he’d brushed it off since his healing factor would take care of it. However a teacher had spotted him and demanded that he go to the nurse anyhow to get patched up. Hence one grumpy Chris sitting impatiently in the nurse’s office with a small cloth placed firmly to his cut. He scowled and let his foot bounce while he waited.
"I'm really sorry but do you mind if I go first? I'm bleeding out and I kinda don't wanna die from a stupid cut while dissecting a frog.”
The voice drew Chris’s attention and he glanced over with a raised eyebrow. Until he noticed the cut on her hand and the sheer amount of blood coming from it.
”Jesus!” He exclaimed, glancing up to the girl. ”Is your power super bleeding or something? Go ahead of me before you lose another pint!”
It was a rare moment Chris actually showed concern for some complete stranger, especially when he wasn’t in the greatest mood. However he was willing to make an exception considering the girl was bleeding worse than him.
”I’ve got advanced healing. Some teacher was being an idiot and made me come here anyways. despite the fact it'll heal in thirty minutes or something.” He rolled his eyes. ”You can go, cupcake.”

The boy's response had Cassidy smiling gratefully before she moved in front of him, sitting down and nursing her injured hand. His explanation of his powers made her chuckle softly. Being called cupcake didn't sit right with her though. But he had been gracious enough to let her cut in line so she kept quiet and only offered a small smile.
"I can only heal myself when I've got utter peace and quiet. Too much noise distracts me and if I don't heal myself in a specific pocket of time, it kind of gets worst for me." She grimaced, not knowing why she's even bothering explaining herself. He had been kind enough to let her through, he didn't need to hear her life story.
"Thank you so much. I wish the person before me would be fast. I might lose even more blood if it gets to be any longer."

Chris frowned as she described her power, considering himself a hell of a lot luckier. he didn’t even have to think for his healing to start.
”No wonder you came here because good fucking luck trying to find a quiet spot before you bleed out.” He snickered and shook his head. ”What do you mean it ‘gets worse’ for you? What does your power decide to bite back if you don’t give it enough attention?”
Chris had heard of stranger powers and side effects, so he wouldn’t be surprised if that was actually the case. His eyes went back down to her hand, frowning at the blood he could see.
"Thank you so much. I wish the person before me would be fast. I might lose even more blood if it gets to be any longer.”
Chris glanced up at Cassidy before looking towards the door the nurse was working in with some other kid. He glanced back at Cassidy and raised an eyebrow.
”I haven’t the faintest clue on how long this idiot is going to take,” He jerked his head towards the door, ”But you should get something to put pressure on that cut to help lessen how much blood you’re losing. There’s got to be something in here.”

Cassidy flinched slightly when the boy cursed. Her biggest pet peeve was when people cursed unnecessarily. They could do it in their own time but around her? No bueno. But once again, he had been nice enough to let her go first. And patience was one of her bigger virtues.
"Well," she squirmed uncomfortably as she tried to activate her abilities bit by bit. It did, on occasion, work like that. And it wasn't like the nurse's office was a cesspool of noise right then. "Stemming the blood flow won't help, that's one. It's one of the side effects of self-healing. For me anyway." She explained. "And I don't wanna test my mortality right now by being a martyr and waiting for the nurse." She craned her neck to see if the person before her was anywhere near done.
"What're your side-effects?" She asked just to pass time.

”Well, stemming the blood flow won't help, that's one. It's one of the side effects of self-healing. For me anyway. And I don't wanna test my mortality right now by being a martyr and waiting for the nurse.”
Chris had noticed her flinch once he swore, but didn’t do anything other than quirk a brow slightly. He wasn’t about to change his habits for one girl he’d probably never see again. Although when She mentioned her side-effect, Chris frowned deeply.
”Are you kidding me? So you’re just patiently- ok hold on.”
Grunting Chris got up and headed into the office the nurse was working on the other patient in. He didn’t even care if he was intruding or trailing his own blood on the floor. The fact this girl was going to simply sit and basically bleed out while waiting for the person before her to finish was completely ridiculous in Chris’s opinion.
”Hey!” He yelled, startling both the patient and the nurse. This girl is basically bleeding out out there! Fuck your wound, you’re healed enough. Besides, what you hurt your knee? Dude whatever get out. You can wait.”
The next few seconds were pure chaos but Chris somehow managed to drag the other patient out and sit them down in a chair. He motioned to Cassidy with his good hand.
”Get in there. No way are you politely waiting for this numb nut to get his knee checked when you’re pumping out blood like a fountain.” Chris took his former seat. ”You can ask your question when you’re done. I didn’t catch it."

When the guy basically threw the kid out from the nurse's office, Cassidy was mortified, especially when she was cited as the reason why the throwing out was even necessary."No...no no. It's-" she couldn't finish her sentences as the guy kept asking the people there to make certain Cassidy was tended to.
She scrambled to get up off her seat when he called her forward and sat opposite the nurse with a sheepish grin on her face. As she was tended to, she glanced back to look at the guy who had helped her and she smiled. Maybe she could bake some cookies as a thank you.
Once she was patched up, she left the room and went to the boy who helped her, holding her good hand out. "Thank you. I'm Cassidy by the way. You can call me Cas." She gave him a smile.

”Come on, go go go.”
Chris didn’t hear her attempts at halting his progress dragging the other student out. He found it bat-shit insane that the girl would’ve simply sat there and waited for the first kid when she was bleeding so badly. Despite how little Chris generally cared about complete strangers, sometimes even he would step in the fix something so stupid sounding. While Cassidy was tended too, Chris glared down the other kid trying to bore a hole into the side of his head. He could feel the blood from his cut slowing down while his own healing factor worked to heal the damage. Chris frowned, annoyed once again he’d been forced to go to the nurse despite the fact he was already healing.
"Thank you. I'm Cassidy by the way. You can call me Cas.”
Chris glanced up when he heard Cassidy speak, his eyes flicking down to her hand. It was a rare day indeed when Chris actually got thanked for anything, so a small smile formed on his face. After wiping his hand off on his jeans, he took Cassidy’s and shook it.
”If I had a dime for every time someone thank me, this would be the only one I’d have.” He snickered and drooped her hand. ”Name’s Chris. Do me a favor and cut everyone in line next time you’ve got an injure like that, alright Cas? Also what did you ask me back there?”

She breathed a sigh of relief when he took her hand to shake. Pocketing it after the shake, she frowned slightly before shaking her head at his 'favour'. She probably wouldn't do that. She just had to be more careful in the future.
"Oh...um side-effects. I was wondering what yours were. But...maybe we should go somewhere else where people aren't glaring at us." Cassidy blushed slightly when she realised the kid Chris had thrown out was still casting murderous glances at them both.
"And are you sure you don't need the nurse?" She asked, pointing to Chris' injury.

"Oh...um side-effects. I was wondering what yours were. But...maybe we should go somewhere else where people aren't glaring at us.”
Chris turned his head when Cassidy mentioned the staring, and sent the kid a death glare of his own. He could imagine the sight was slightly terrifying since Chris’s one arm was still covered in blood. For all the kid knew, Chris could’ve ripped out someone’s heart. Although if the bastard kept staring at Chris like that, he toyed with the idea of making that assumption a reality.
"And are you sure you don't need the nurse?”
Chris looked back at Cassidy and shook his head, already standing and heading towards the exit. He did not want to be in that room any more; he didn’t even to begin with anyways.
”Try me I’m fine. Let’s get out of here and away from weak-knees over there.” Chris threw one last glare at the other student before leaving. ”As for my side-effects, it’s nothing as stupidly crazy as yours. I’ve got super strength so all the annoying bits that come with that like breaking doorknobs. The only problems I’ve got with my healing happens with shattered bones and infections. Otherwise I’m fine, which is why I don’t need a nurse. This’ll be closed up in no time.”

Finding herself quietly following Chris, Cassidy was surprised she wasn't running away. Maybe it was because he had essentially become her hero, even though he really didn't have to chase the kid out of the nurse's office. She was glad her hand was going to heal up nicely though. So little miracles.
She winced when Chris explained his side-effects and nodded. Adrianna would know the details of his side effects, she thought to herself. Cassidy had never had a reason to learn about them except for her own. Even then, she had the most basic knowledge of it.

"What happened to you anyway?”
Chris glanced back at her and then down to his still bloody arm. Instead of grimace, Chris simply frowned and rolled his eyes.
”Some complete idiot with metal manipulating powers tried slicing my arm off with metal from the bathroom stall door. Obvious he did a bang up job of it and missed. I didn’t.” Chris shook his head and snorted. ”After i laid him out, some teacher found me and made me head to the nurse even though I know this thing will be closed up by the end of the day. The bleeding is already slowing down so I’m fine.”
Chris was still bitter he’d wasted his time heading to the nurse. Although in a way he was glad to have saved Cassidy from bleeding out from sheer manners or something as crazy as that. He glanced at Cassidy again and looked at her hand in contemplation.
”What happened to you? Try juggling knives or something? i wouldn't be that surprised.”
