Nicky allowed himself to be dragged and tugged away, smiling over his shoulder at his mother and blowing her a dramatic kiss. It was a ridiculous thing that she'd done ever since he was born. Something she'd done with her baby brother when they were young. Small as it was, watching him do it made her whole face light up. As he got older, she worried that he'd eventually be too old for stuff like that. She wasn't ready for him to be too old to love her outwardly.
Layla's eyes moved from the hallway back to Patch and she smirked, "Uh, yeah. If we could not do another musical, I'd love to. Although, I mean, your singing is almost worth the torture." She winked at him and laughed before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Even if she was picking on him, she knew it wouldn't bother him. The things he did for Emma and even Nicky, he never got embarrassed about. It didn't matter what comments she made, he always seemed to just do it anyway and she loved that. If someone couldn't be a goofball around kids because they were 'too cool' she had no respect for them as a person.
"Any ideas? I know you're just dying to watch a Chick Flick. Something super sappy and adorable," She giggled and leaned her head back against the couch.

Patch chuckled when he saw Nicky's dramatics before raising an eyebrow at Layla's teasing. "Oh you're a gas." He mock laughed, batting a hand in her direction in a coy fashion. He rolled his eyes and turned to throw himself on to the couch, reaching for the remote control to switch on his Netflix account.
When Layla mentioned chick flicks, Patch laughed and nodded. "Yeah. Let's see my chick flick section." He pressed a few buttons and a host of action and gory movies came up. "Mmm...yes. Delicious chick flicks." He browsed through the selections lazily.
"Should I just close my eyes and randomly press buttons until one movie plays?"

The list was by no means anything but Patch. Gore, action and absolutely no drama or romance. Layla had no qualms with that, she'd never been one for the rom-coms or drama herself. She looked over her shoulder at him and shook her head, her eyes rolling in the back of her head. "You're such a dork. These movies are all equally ridiculous. Gore, blood, cars, more blood and gore, blood, blood, blood," She listed as he went through all of the movies in his list.
"If you close your eyes, I bet ten bucks you fall asleep before you even pick a movie," She leaned her head back again and snickered to herself. She was in no position to judge though. Exhaustion had overtaken her and she was ready to sleep. The kids were taken care of, though she wondered if they'd be up talking or actually sleeping. She supposed it didn't matter. They were young, they could nap and talking was good for both of them. Nicky had gotten so much better with talking.
Layla stretched her arms up and yawned before letting them fall back onto his chest, "Hell, I might fall asleep before you pick a movie." She poked him and laughed before letting her eyes slide shut. Moments passed and she was out just as she'd said.
