Armed with a bucket full of popcorn and a haversack filled with other kinds of snacks, Elizabeth ran over to Ellen's dorm room and knocked frantically on the door.
"Ellen! Open the door!" She yelled urgently, continuing to knock like there was no tomorrow.
Today was no ordinary day. Today was going to be the day Elizabeth was going to make Ellen Banks smile. And laugh. She was not going to end the day until she saw the other blonde teenager crack a smile, even if it's at Elizabeth's expense.

Why did people naturally assume that Ellen wasn’t happy? just because she didn’t insist on tolerating stupidity and didn’t really have time for “Fun” that doesn’t make her un happy, but seemingly because she didn’t act like a three year old on a sugar rush like Frank Cox and she didn’t insist on hugging everyone like she was some kind of disney princess -Not that she’s every seen one of those movies. Does she LOOK like a child to you?- Doesn’t make her Unhappy. She was perfectly content with life, why should she prove that to anyone….
But once again she had someone at her door insisting on talking to her…..She put down her pad and pen as her eyes lingered on the door…..Did she really want to do that? She knew whatever was on the other side of the door she wasn’t going to like it…..
She sighed knowing full well she wasn’t going to go away so she shuffled towards the door and opened it up her face made of stone and her eyes sharp as always “....What?”

It took awhile but the door finally opened and Elizabeth beamed widely before practically pouncing on Ellen, giving her all sorts of kisses everywhere she could find on her face.
"Good morning! Well...mid morning. Anyway, hi! I've got a ton of snacks and I brought over DVDs of horse movies we could watch. I thought we could start with Spirit because I mean come on." She rolled her eyes like it was the most obvious choice. Duh.
Without waiting to be offered, Elizabeth barrelled into the room, her hand grasping Ellen's and tugging her in. "I know, I know, I should have called first and whatnot but you wouldn't have picked up because I know for a fact that you've named me as "Don't Pick Up" on your phone, am I right? Yes. So here I am!"

Ellen’s game plan was rather simple. She would say “What” Elizabeth would state her business and Ellen would promptly shut the door in her face. No she had no time to socialize. No she didn’t want to, so kindly leave her alone….Simple…
Of course she didn’t account for Liz cutting her off at the past and embracing her tightly, Ellen was surprised not a fan of physical contact -Especially with another woman- and she was quickly plated by a trail of kisses all over her face which felt like army of sparks going off on her face, her nerves coming to life and dancing with every kiss. Causing her eyes to lose it’s edge and her head to feel just a little light headed….
“Hey-wait...what?”Her head was still spinning when Elizabeth started talking to her, trying her hardest to focus on her words and not let her eyes focus on her face. Certainly not her eyes DON’T LOOK in her eyes.
And before she knew it she was being dragged over to the sofa, trying in vain to recover from the attack and maintain her tough edge “Wait...I...You...What?”This was far too early and Elizabeth was talking WAY too fast.
Ok, just breath and focus
“No, that’ll be Frank” She muttered sharply trying weakly to pull her hand away “...Don’t you have anything better to do? Someone ELSE to annoy? Or maybe study for the BIG test we have this week”

Leaving Ellen Banks speechless, though admirable, was not what Elizabeth had in mind for the day. Although it was so freaking adorable whenever the other blonde did get this way.
Elizabeth of course did not even realise how Ellen was avoiding looking at her as she was so busy dragging the other girl to the TV area so she could pop the DVD in.
The mention of Frank Cox had Elizabeth grinning. "That girl." She shook her head before rolling her eyes at Ellen's protests. "I do not annoy you." She said in a matter of factly tone of voice. "Besides, I finished studying like last week. There's no use crammin' when you know the answers already."
Oh Elizabeth Edison was definitely cocky. She didn't get this way too much but when it came to her studies, she could ace it in her sleep. "Today is all about you, Ellen Banks. We're going to get our horsey on and binge on junk food until we can't anymore. Now sit."
Once she popped the DVD into the player, the taller blonde jumped into the couch and took out the bucket of popcorn from her haversack and started eating from it.

“Everyone annoys me” Ellen snapped back at Elizabeth tossing her long golden blond hair behind her shoulders vocalizing one of the few truths that she knew for a fact, and it was a truth. Thinking it over and going through the rolladeck of her mind and thinking of almost everyone she knew...Yes, all annoying. Liz. Frank. Erika. God, why couldn’t they all just leave her alone. That was all Ellen really wanted!
Ellen merely scoffed at her over confidence. God, things just came to Liz so easily. Popularity. Good grades. Prom. She never had to work for anything did she? As oppose to Ellen who had to work for even the smallest part of approval. Of course she didn’t need to study why would she?
“Well, that’s OH so kind” Ellen snarled her voice dripping with sarcasm “But I have no intention of getting my horse on nor eating juke food so would you kindly-” And before she was even aware she had done it she had found herself sitting on the sofa the moment Liz ordered her to sit like she was a trained pet. She blinked rapidly in surprise unsure how exactly she did that…
With a forlorn sigh she pressed her fingers to her head clearly resigned to the fact that this was happening, looking bored already…….
….and of course the moment Elizabeth sat down, Ellen subtly moved herself all the way over to the other side of the sofa as far as she could from Liz

Elizabeth turned to face Ellen when she barked her response. For a second, the darker blonde's face fell before the smile came back on full force. So Ellen wasn't in the best of moods. What was new? That wasn't going to deter Elizabeth from having a good day with one of her closest friends.
Then came the sarcasm which, on hindsight, should have alerted Elizabeth of how the rest of the day was going to end up, but ever the optimist, the pyrokinetic just took it as a challenge to up the game a little.
She realised the other girl was inching away from her so she inched closer so they could share the popcorn. Beaming in the other girl's direction, she shook the bucket of popcorn at her. "I popped it myself. There's like...loads of butter and syrup. It's really good."

Close friends? No no no no…..Let’s make something perfectly clear. Elizabeth was NOT her close friend. She had no close friends especially Elizabeth, especially Elizabeth brought out…..Certain feelings out of her…..Emotions and feelings she rather not have and with Elizabeth so, affectionate. No, Ellen really couldn't deal with that and preferred to keep at arm’s length….
Apparently Elizabeth didn’t have the same idea……
She was slowly relaxing now, good as long as she all the way on the other side of the sofa , Ellen might just be….Oh, oh no. don’t do that Ellen mentally demanded once she saw Elizabeth slowly inching towards her, she tried to focus purely on the movie in front of her- Wait was this an animated movie? Urg. Did Ellen look like she enjoyed cartoons?- But the more she tried to focus on the movie the more she became aware of the soft soothing scent of lavender moving towards her…
Damn, it….Why did she have to wear Lavender?
Ellen, quickly waved the popcorn away despite how tempting it was “No sweet food before the afternoon” That was one of her father’s rules, installed in her since she was a small child like they were commandments, and even if he was no where around she felt compelled to do just that “Is this...animated?!” she mentioned with a scoff flitching sideways desperate to make space between her and Elizabeth clinging to the arm

When Ellen refused the popcorn, Elizabeth turned to the other blonde with gaping lips. "What? Why? What?" She sputtered teasingly, though genuinely a little bit perturbed by the other girl's refusal to eat junk food. But she shrugged it off and pulled the tub of popcorn on to her lap.
Ellen's scoffing had Elizabeth turning to the other blonde with a nod. "Duh, it's Disney. Dude, it's Spirit. This is like the animated horse movie of all time!" She retorted in a tone of voice that suggested she was insulted the other girl didn't know about it.

At last Ellen managed to turn in the direction of Elizabeth her head slightly tilted toward her as if confused why that was so surprising, somewhat more calm now there was a good cushion between the two “My father doesn’t really like me too” She admitted almost in a small mutter as if trying to make sure that Elizabeth didn’t hear a word, not really a fan of showing vulnerability not talking about her father in any way shape or form, hoping the matter would be dropped right there and then.
Oh great, cartoons. Well this was officially a new low for Ellen. In didn’t surprise her in the least that Elizabeth watched these kind of movies, being an out and out surgery princess type herself...urg sickening “I wasn’t allowed to watch Disney as a child, my father says it’ll give me unrealistic expectation on life”
Post by Elizabeth Edison on Jan 11, 2016 6:20:59 GMT -6
Elizabeth heard what Ellen muttered and she shook her head, wondering why any parent would restrict their kids that much. Did Ellen not have a proper childhood or something?
And then another bombshell fell on Elizabeth's lap. One that she could actually have a genuine reaction towards. "WHAT?" She exclaimed. "That...I lived on Disney! Why would your dad even think of cutting you off from Disney? It's Disney! of course it's going to give you unrealistic expectations on life because it's a Goddamn cartoon! I mean seriously, who grows up wishing they were a horse?"
Elizabeth paused in her rant before chuckling. "Well, I did. But that's not the point. The point is, nobody is going to actually think they'd grow up to be an actual princess destined to just be swept off her feet by the first guy she met. That's...why would your dad...wow."

It could be argued that, Ellen didn’t really have a childhood, and was forced to grow up FAR too fast for anyone’s taste but Ellen actually lived it, she had no clue what a typical childhood really was. To her, what she experienced WAS normal, hence the fact that she confused by such a surprised reaction
…And even more stunned when Elizabeth seemed to explode once she revealed she wasn;t allowed watch Disney as a child, she watched her with wide eyes watching her rant and rave about disney….and horses….and wanting to be one and…..Woah she really needed to slow down
But of course, it stung when anyone EVER spoke ill of her father it was like she was programmed to be personally offended by it, and eventually her eyes darkened “My father is a great man, there’s a reason no one talks to him like that.
If Liz knew what happened to Ellen when she thought about criticizing...

Ellen's reaction to Elizabeth's rant, of all things concentrating on her father, rang an alarm in the pyrokinetic. Now, she was no expert in matters of the mind but she felt like it was such common sense to immediately jump to the logic that there was something going on in Ellen and her father's relationship. Elizabeth hadn't really seen it before until today but it was becoming very clear very quick how the Banks' related to each other.
Having a close relationship with her own parents had given her this sense of...superiority, for lack of a better word, over other familial relationship her peers had with theirs. She had such an unshakeable foundation with her parents that she easily measured it up to everyone else's. It was easy for her to find flaws in other people's relationships with their parents. She knew on some level that that was fucked up. Nobody should ever feel superior over someone else simply because they had everything they needed. Which was probably why she never voiced out her opinions on it.
"Oh...no, I meant no offence. Sorry. Just...horse!" Elizabeth pointed to the screen and glued her eyes to it, shoving popcorn into her mouth. If she had to stay quiet for the rest of the day so that Ellen would lose the murderous look in her eyes, then so be it.
How did she ruin her mission so fast? She needed to get back on track with this fun day. Spirit could calm any beast, couldn't he? If it failed, Elizabeth had contingencies. She was going to use Neptune to soothe Ellen. Yes, Elizabeth played dirty. Ellen should, by now, know this of the pyrokinetic.
