The snow was being an evil bitch. Which was saying something since Elizabeth adored the cold and the snow. But it was coming down in sheets and even with her bright yellow hooded parka, the blonde looked like an Ice Walker as she walked into the warm mall.
She had to stamp her feet to get the snow off her and she almost fell when she slipped on the ice a couple of times.
"Snow, am I right?" She chuckled at the first passerby, trying to get out of her parka so she could walk through the mall without sweating her briefs off. She didn't even care if the person even acknowledged her existence.

Selina didn't spend much time in Kalispell's mall anymore, but she'd come here looking for a gift to help cheer up Riley. The snow didn't bother her in the slightest, and her love of the cold had her grinning despite the terrible weather. She was brushing the snow off of her own ice coated jacket when the woman next to her spoke.
Selina chuckled in agreement, "A true winter wonderland out there," she offered with a warm smile as she pulled down the hood of her thick winter coat and studied the half-icicle next to her.
"You need any help ma'am?" Selina asked, knowing how difficult it could be to deal with all the ice and snow, even on Montana's better days.

When a response came about, Elizabeth looked up and saw a vaguely familiar face looking back at her. Calling her ma'am. Who was she, the queen?
The blonde snorted and chuckled before shaking her head. "No ma'am necessary. I'm not even engaged to be married. But no, no help needed." She gave the other girl a charming smile.
"You look awfully familiar. You didn't happen to go to Bellefonte Academy did you?" Elizabeth asked after folding her parka over her arm.

Selina grinned at the woman’s response, “Ah, single then?” she teased, a flirtatious light in her eyes.
When Bellefonte was mentioned, Selina felt her hackles rise, but only for a brief instant. With the state of Kalispell and the woman running for mayor who demanded the mutants to leave, her reaction was pure instinct nowadays. However, this girl seemed familiar and the way she’d asked made it rather clear that she wasn’t about to attack Selina for being something other than human.
“I did actually, you?” she asked in turn as she removed her jacket and loosely tied it around her waist so she wouldn’t have to mess with it.

"So very single." She nodded, noting the flirtatious glint in the girl's whole demeanour. Well then, Elizabeth thought to herself in amusement. She just found herself a new best friend.
That mischievous demeanour disappeared almost instantaneously when she mentioned Bellefonte and only then did Elizabeth realise that not everyone was a mutant and during these trying times, it was better that mutants were avoided at all costs. Which wasn't how she viewed the problem, obviously. But not everyone shared the views of the out and proud mutant celebrity.
Which made Elizabeth grin widely when the girl confirmed her thoughts. "Yes." She nodded. "We must not have run in the same circles. You look oddly familiar but I don't know your name. Were you in the same year as Drew Conner?"

Selina smirked slightly at the girl's response, "As am I, what a pleasant coincidence," she teased lightly.
Selina shrugged, "I ran in many social circles," she offered with a slightly suggestive grin, "Don't know if I was ever a part of one or the other," she added honestly. She had been more than aware of the hierarchies at Bellefonte, but she'd never wanted to get involved in them. She just did what she wanted and screwed the rest... sometimes literally. The only thing she'd really joined was Security, but she certainly hadn't restricted herself with it.
Selina grinned at the mention of her boss, "I'm a year older," she returned easily. It was... an interesting experience to be working for someone younger than she was, but she'd gotten used to it rather quickly. Drew was mature and sensible for his age, so she'd adapted quite well.

Elizabeth's smile widened and a hand ran through her hair. "I knew there was a silver lining to this horrible weather." She bit her lower lip and turned to look into the mall. "Hey, do you wanna go inside? I'm hankering for a pretzel." The biting cold was also doing a little damage to her core temperature, which was never good considering her abilities.
"I had friends in practically every extracurricular. Drove me a little insane at times but what's high school for if not for building a social network, you know?" She grinned. It did get her the crown for prom her senior year, that was nice.
A look of mild surprise coloured Elizabeth's face before she nodded. "So you're Erika's age?" She asked, only citing the Conners simply because Erika was Elizabeth's best friend. And also because everyone knew them both. "I'm Liz, by the way. Liz Edison." She reached a hand out for a shake.

Selina chuckled at her response, "Silver lining indeed," she agreed easily. She then nodded, "Hell yes," she agreed with a laugh. Getting inside would be great. "Mm, I love the ones with cinnamon sugar," Selina admitted. Selina's sweet tooth was a weakness but she had a good enough metabolism that she could indulge without doing too much harm yet.
"I do," she agreed simply. Selina had gotten to know many but she had never been the type people voted in for prom nominations, not that she'd minded at all. She hadn't attended prom once in all her years of highschool, nor the spring formal in college. She liked dressing up and going out with friends, but she could do that for free at any other time of the year. That, and she didn't exactly feel like she would belong in such a place.
"I suppose I am," Selina offered with a smile. "And my name's Selina Taylor," she returned easily as she gripped Liz's hand. Selina then opened the door for the woman and motioned inside the mall, "Ladies first," she teased lightly.

"Oh yeah? Me too! But I also love the original one with salt sprinkles. And the one with almond sprinkles. Ooh and there's one with cheese and bacon. Oh how can I forget the ones that are dipped in caramel? Oh my God, I'm salivating already." She chuckled, not even caring if she sounded like a hog. And now she wanted all of the pretzels. Maybe she should just get them all.
Yes, that was a good idea.
Elizabeth nodded when the other woman agreed to her statement. She then grasped the other girl's hand and her smile widened. "Ah! Right! I think we were partners at one of the carnival booths when the date auctions were happening."
Snorting at being called a lady, Elizabeth shook her head and stepped in, already leading the way to the pretzel stall. "I'm only going first because it'd be an argument about who's actually a lady. I mean I'm no lady." She gestured to herself, despite being in a cute little dress with pink flowers bordering the hemline.
"Did you come here to get something or were you just gonna walk around?"

Selina laughed lightly, “Let’s stop at the pretzel shop first then shall we?” she asked with a playful grin. A warm fresh pretzel sounded amazing after being out in the cold… so did a hot cup of coffee.
Selina stared at Elizabeth in slight surprise trying to remember her years at Bellefonte as the girl claimed that they’d worked together, “I feel awful, but sometimes I’m terrible with faces,” she admitted. Selina had so many temporary acquaintances that it occasionally became difficult to recall everyone she’d met. One night stands were great fun, but sometimes the people seemed to blur together after a while. This girl hadn’t been in Selina’s bed apparently, but Selina still had trouble recalling even platonic people she’d only spent a few hours with.
Selina then chuckled and shrugged at Elizabeth’s comment, “Neither am I,” she returned easily. Selina had never considered herself to be a lady, nor would she. It was a quaint term reserved for individuals who were far more socially acceptable than herself, and Selina didn’t mind rejecting it in the slightest.
“I actually came here to find something to cheer up a friend of mine. She’s been through a rough break-up recently,” Selina replied. “What about you?”
