The girl looked around nervously for anyone she recognized as she stood by the entrance to the Rink. It wasn't like she was scared to go on the ice by herself it just...well she couldn't really explain it. The best idea that came to her mind was she didn't want to look like a loner, because that would be lame, like super-lame. However, if a hot guy/girl were to come up to her and ask to skate well then she wouldn't look like a loser. Yeah that'd be nice...
Max stood for a few seconds in a daze, a daydream running through her head as she looked into the distance.

Glancing at her watch, she decided now was the good time butt in. With her eyes on the girl by the entrance of the skating rink, Poppy Lockwood walked over there in her skates. The girl kept staring ahead. So the nineteen year old did what she thought would catch the other girl's attention.
She poked her in the side.
"Hi there!" She greeted. "Did you know that you have been staring at whoever it was for about seven minutes already?" From where she had stood, she could not see who or what it was the girl was looking at. But she had watched the girl in her drug like haze.
"Any specific reasons as to why you're just standing here?"

"Uhmm...What?" Max was broken from her small daze but the sudden poke in the side and the appearance of a much too energetic girl. She finally registered what the girl had said, cheeks reddening slightly "I was just...waiting for soooomeone. What about you? Do you just go around and poke people out of their daydreams?" She tilted her head at the girl and pushed her hands deep into her jacket's pockets.

"Waiting for someone? Uh-uh. Sure, kid." The older girl scoffed. From where she was standing, the other girl looked like anything but waiting for someone.
"Who me?" Poppy laughed at the accurate description the girl had given as she shook her head. "You know I just thought about interrupting your little fantasy before you drool or anything," she teased and snickered.
"Go on then. Show me this fella that caught your eye," goaded the nineteen year old. Her eyes scanned the rink, trying to spy any eye candies out there.
And her eyes did snag on one. It was no other than her partner in crime, Cash Hunter . Whilst she did not fancy him or anything of that sort, she was not oblivious to his good looks. "Yo, Cash!" she called out.
The young man had came down to the skating rink near the town hall to spend his afternoon. He had not been to the rink this year since it opened up a month ago when it was still early in the season. So after having his lunch, he came over with his skates.
Cash Hunter had been on the ice for the past half an hour or so. Some of his friends were there and people he had seen around in the academy. Poppy was one of them. So he skated over to the entrance where his friend stood with another girl when he heard his name called out.
Knowing Poppy was not one with many friends, he doubted the other girl was one. "Hey, Poppy. And who are you, cutie?" A playful smile tugged on his lips.

Max looked around for a few minutes, avoiding the older girl's eyes and hoping to god she didn't see her face turn red. She gave the girl a glare, jumping a wee bit and clenching her fists "I wasn't DROOLING!" Then she noticed that a cute guy was coming their way, then she attempted to hide. She was not successful.
Okay, yeah he was cute. Very cute. Weird how he got cuter as he got closer. Realizing her face was getting even redder, Max nervously brushed a piece of hair behind her ear, only to have it fall back "Uhmm...I'm Max..." She gave a small smile before looking toward the Older Girl like 'Why the hell did you bring him over here?'

Knowing the fact that he was making the girl blushing, the smile on his face grew wider. It felt good to know that he had that effect on girls and Max was no exception. Cash Hunter was egoistic -- at times most times -- and he did not bother to hide it really.
Something passed between the two girls that the dark haired boy was not sure about actually. With the look Max was giving his friend, he doubted Poppy should be grinning like she was now.
Just as quickly as she had called him over, Poppy made her excuses and fled from the skating rink. He gave an odd look to uer retreating back before focusing back on the girl in front of him.
"Well, I'm Cash. Why don't you skate with me?" He said as he held his hand out for her to take.

The girl looked after Poppy with a face that begged 'please don't leave' as she fled from the scene. The girl dipped her body slightly at the boy, making a soft laugh in an attempt to cover up her desperation. A small argument rushed through her mind as an awkward fled over the two. Take his hand, he's cute. But he is...very attractive, yes. Just take his hand, you fool.
After a few seconds of psyching herself up, she took his hand and then regretted it. It wasn't that she was embarrassed, okay she was, it was just the shock, rather the excitement, had made her face slowly burn. They stepped onto the ice and the girl slipped slightly, it was probably her subconscious mind trying to cause her to fall into him, on the record she didn't.

He was certain now that something must have had happened between the two girls. However, it looked like that at the moment Cash Hunter would not be getting any answers. Perhaps he would ask his friend about it another day but at least Poppy left him with a cutie. That was a plus.
When Max finally took his hand, a lazy grin split the nineteen year old's face. With her hand in his, he led them further into the skating rink.
Thanks to his quick reflexes, Cash noticed her little slip. His other hand instantly went to her side. Even though Max had not fallen, the boy knew some girls liked to feel 'secure' and all that. A laugh escaped his lips. "You okay?"
Just then someone from behind bumped into the two, but they did not fall. Since he was steady on the skates, his arm around her waist only tightened at the contact. "Well, now are you okay?"

She was somewhat surprised by the appearance of this guy's hand on her waist. Okay this is...undignified! But nice. Yeah, it's kind of cool to have a guy, a CUTE guy, be so protective over me. It felt kind of weird to have a guy have his arm around your waist. Nice, warm, goosebump inducing but still weird. The girl bunched up her fists and pushed the guy away slightly. Her nose wrinkled and she gave him his most furious look, okay it wasn't particularly scary looking kind of like an angry hamster. "I was OKAY TO BEGIN WITH!"
She noticed a few people look their way and her face turned red. Had she not already pushed Cash to the side she would have hid behind him. Sheepishly she turned to the boy, head tilted slightly "Uhmm...S-Sorry...I don't no-normally have guy's...uhmmm..." She shrugged her shoulders, hoping the guy got the gist of what she meant.

The slightly concerned but amused look slowly took form of a confused one as he felt himself being pushed away from the girl. What the...
An eyebrow arched up in questioning as he turned to face her but then a grin split Cash's face when he saw her adorable scrunched up face. He knew she was trying to look angry but to him, it was just damn adorable. Both hands raised as if in surrender when Max shouted at him. "Alright, alright, pardon me mi'lady for my wrong doings," he said teasingly.
The boy too noticed the pairs of eyes staring their way at the mini outburst. But he waved his hand to show it was no bigge. "Carry on folks."
At the apology, Cash stuffed his hands in his jacket pocket and skated closer to her. However, this time he kept his hands in the pockets since he got the gist of it. "Is that because you always push them away before they get too close, cutie?" Well, that was not going to stop him from teasing her about it.

The girl glared at Cash's grin for it was obvious he thought it was funny "Oh shut up..." Max returned to skating once Cash began to skate next to her. She kept her hands in her pockets, not paying much attention to how she was skating.
"Most boys don't try it the first time I MEET THEM!" She gave one more glare at Cash before avoiding his eyes and staring at her skates. To be honest they were a bit clunky. Where most girls her age wear the pretty figure skates Max had always been a more hockey kind of girl. With her lack of attention the girl bumped back into the boy "Oops...sorry I was kind of daydreaming there. So...so...so you a college student or just a really ho-" The girl stopped herself "Old...high school senior?"
"Well, cutie, I think you can see that I'm not most guys," he said pointedly as the corners of his lips turned up. The glare given to him only made Max cuter, in his opinion. So the nineteen year old continued skating beside the younger girl.
Of course whilst Cash had checked her out, he had not paid much attention to her skates really except for that pretty face of hers. Anyway, when Max bumped into him again, his hand reached out light to touch her back to steady her before quickly retreating them back into his pockets. A mini outburst was not needed for round two.
"What are you daydreaming for? I'm right here," he said with a teasing smile. At the short pause in her question, Cash could not help the cheeky smile of his. "College student. So tell me about yourself. What's a cutie like you doing here all alone? No offence, but I highly doubt you're a friend of Poppy's."

"Yeah, ain't that right..." The girl muttered under her breath, avoiding looking at the boy for fear of blushing. Okay he was annoying...but it was kind of...somewhat...hmmm...charming? Max shrugged her shoulders, keeping her own conversation running through her head. This guy was kind of hard to place.
"And you ask why I was daydreaming?" The girl gave a small laugh before blushing when he noticed her pause from before. She gave another small shrug, picking up the pace they were going at "I on-only met her a few moments before she was calling you over. She seems nice though..." She was not convinced by her words but tried her best to convince him.
The girl was not far off. He had a few negative traits -- well, who does not -- but Cash Hunter wore it proudly. He acknowledges his cocky, arrogant and vain self, that probably just added to his overall charm. "Well aren't you a cute tomato. I could just eat you up!" The dark haired boy definitely noticed her reddening cheeks the second time around. His hand then went to scratch the back of his head. "Erm, I swear that does not sound as creepy as some may think."
As her description of Poppy, a laughter escaped the nineteen year old. "Hmm okay. I wouldn't use that exact word, but okay, Max." Just then, a guy, who obviously was losing control over his skates, skidded their way. Thanks to his fast reflexes, Cash got a hold of Max as the guy bumped into them. Though was it enough to save them from hitting the ice?
