There was snow. A lot of it complementary of the water manipulators at the school. So naturally there should be a snowball fight. And of course Riley would be in the mix of it.
"OW! Oh you son of a--" She started before ducking to avoid another snowball from hitting her smack in the face. Holy shit their aim is getting better I swear! She though, hiding out behind the fountain before throwing one of her own snowballs at the one who nailed her in the face. She didn't manage to get a headshot, but she did manage to hit them in the shoulder.
It was a free for all though, so suddenly she was hit from behind. It was just her luck for the snow to go down the back of her shirt too. "HOLYSWEETJESUSTHATSFUCKINGCOLD" She yelled oh so gracefully as she tried wiggling the ice out of her shirt. Once she did, Riley turned to glare at the kid who was laughing. Oh you're so dead! She thought as she packed together a ball and threw it as hard as she could. The kid say it and expertly (or luckily) dodged out of the way. Which unluckily meant that Riley hit some girl behind him who she was pretty sure hadn't been part of the game. And she managed to get a headshot this time too.
Shit.
"I am so sorry!!!!" Riley called, instantly feeling horrible. Why'd that other jerk have to dodge?! Well ok so maybe it made sense....but still. Now she nailed an innocent!
Snow. Lots and lots of it by the time Poppy Lockwood woke up and looked out her window. A random thought occurred. If it were any other school and holidays had not let out yet, today would be a snow day and everyone would be able to stay home and enjoy their hot chocolate. But this was not any other school. It was Bellefonte. Moreover, it was a boarding school so there were no snow days to begin with. Maybe just a couple from time to time.
Since the holidays had began, the brunette had not yet went home to her family. They lived nearby so it was not a big deal as one might thought it was. Once she was showered and dressed for the day, the girl made her way to the the cafeteria for some much needed hot coco and breakfast.
By doing so, she had to pass the courtyard where then she had been attacked by the first snowball of the day -- right in the head. Her walk stopped as she took in the people by the fountain. Her eyes landed on her attacker who seemed truly sorry.
Which made what she did next all the more fun.
Crouching down, Poppy quickly made a handful of snowball and threw it at the other girl. It landed smack on her 'O' shaped face. "You should have seen yourself! That was priceless," she said between laughs.

Riley should've seen it coming. Really, when the girl started crouching down, she should've ducked or mored or something. She attributed it to the fact that she still felt bad for hitting the girl for what had made her stay still. Which ended, of course, with Riley getting nailed right in the face. Sputtering, Riley cleared her eyes while listening to the girl laugh. Priceless huh? Riley thought with a smirk as she cleared her eyes and crouched to make another snowball and chuck it at the girl.
"Never mind! I take my apology back!" She said with a grin. But once again, she had forgotten about her other opponents. Another snowball hit her in the back of her head, and she yelled. "Hey no fair!" Although all was fair to be honest. Riley ducked as another snowball came flying her way. However, seeing as Poppy had joined in on the fun, snowballs were getting aimed her way as well now.
"Guess you're in on it too now!" Riley yelled, ducking low and throwing another made snowball at someone before dashing for better cover.

Poppy held her stomach as she laughed at the hilarious image she had the pleasure of seeing. It was so good to see someone sorry about something only to have it thrown right back at them. Too funny. She saw the other girl crouched down with her fingers in the snow and she knew another attack was coming her way.
Holding her hands up to protect her face, the snowball hit her near her shoulders. Cursing herself for not wearing a scarf, some of the snow trickled down her collar. Poppy shuddered as the cold made contact with her warm skin. She would have brush it off, but her gloves were cold too from the snow so that would not have been the brightest idea.
Then snowball after snowball flew in the other girl's direction. This caused another laugh out of Poppy. The girl ducked behind the fountain for cover just as another snowball hit Poppy in the back. "Hey!" She tried to pinpoint her attacker. Once she did, she hurled a snowball at him. Before she could see if she had hit her target, she followed her first attacker and hid behind the fountain as well.
"It's getting nasty out there," she joked as she made another snowball.

Riley might not've gotten the headshot she wanted, but judging from the girl's reaction her shot had still gotten a hit! Riley laughed triumphantly but was soon caught in the line of fire again. Jeez these guys are relentless! She thought as she hurried for covered, hearing the girl behind her protest some while Riley got some cover for herself. Yep the other girl was definitely in the game whether she wanted to be or not now. Although the girl seemed eager enough to join, from how she had attacked Riley almost automatically. They could use some more players anyways.
Riley was still surprised the girl joined her by the fountain though. "Duh! It's a snowball fight!" Riley teased, laughing while sending out another snowball some guy's way. She glanced back at her sudden cover companion. She grinned and formed a fast snowball, tossing it at the girl's head again. "But what are you doing here! This is my cover! Unless we're forming an alliance or something." Riley teased ducking quickly to avoid yet another snowball coming her way, firing a ball in retaliation.

The girl laughed out loud as first attacker attacked her yet again with another snowball. For the second time that day, the brunette cursed herself for not wearing a scarf and a hat. The snow was in her hair and it was pointless to brush it off since her gloves were covered in snow as well.
Poppy was hardly dressed for a snowball fight but that was the beauty of the game. It came unexpectedly and suddenly. If she had been one of those pompous bastards, she probably would have stormed off first thing since the moment she was hit.
But Poppy did not have a stick up her ass. She liked having fun and she certainly knew how to. "You don't claim this spot missy!" She exclaimed as she threw the snowball she had made. Quickly, her hand formed another one and threw it again at the other girl in retaliation to her retaliation. "Okay, okay, alliance?" said Poppy as she extended her hand.
But at the same time the other hand was forming yet another snowball and she threw it at her cover companion.

"Well I do now!" Riley stated, barely dodging the girl's throw. However she got hit with another one by someone else in result, cursing at the cold but grinning like a fool. Then her 'cover companion' suddenly wanted to make an alliance? Riley was suspisious, and for good reason as she saw the girl making a snowball with her other hand. Riley grinned and got her own snow, taking the hit to the face like a boss while lunging forward.
"Alliance? Ha!" She laughed, throwing the snow right smack in Poppy's face in return. "You never wanted an alliance you fiend! I saw that snowball coming!" She stated, ducking her head as another ball flew out from behind her. "Jeez these guys are crazy!" She laughed again. She was thoroughly soaked through, but her adrenaline up to this point was keeping her warm. Warm enough to gather up another snowball and fling it off towards someone else.
Although then Riley's ears picked up the sound of yelling. Adult yelling. Shit is that a teacher? She wondered, peeking around the fountain.

Well that did it. No alliance but just snowball after snowball. Poppy doubled over laughing as she got hit right smack in the face. "Fuck, it's cold." Her mouth was opened in an 'O' shaped and some snow was right on the edge of her lips. Brushing it with her wet gloves, it only sent another chilly wave through the girl. But quickly she managed to clear her face a bit. Though the snow was still in her hair.
Once her vision was cleared, she continued making another batch of snowballs. She was not only throwing it to her so called cover companion but instead at the others as well. Balls of snow was just flying from every direction. The other girl was right, they were crazy.
Which made it all the more fun.
Once her small mountain of snowballs were launched and gone, the nineteen year old ducked down once again behind the fountain to produce more of those supremely fun bullets. It felt good to be a kid again. But of course, an adult just had to come and ruin the fun. Since the two "cover companions" were behind the fountain, they were not spotted.
Feeling a little upset the snow war was put on hold, Poppy had a brilliant idea. Quickly she made five more snowballs. Tugging the other girl by her coat, she gestured to the snowball in her hand and nudged her head in the direction of the yelling. Then she launched one after another towards the teacher. "Run!!"

Riley got plenty of satisfaction from hitting the girl with snow again, but this was no time to gloat over past victories. It was a snowball fight. So of course chaos would ensue. And eventually end as the teacher came out. Luckily for Riley and her cover companion, neither of them were spotted. Riley was frantically trying to scout a way out when the girl tapped her and motioned to the snowballs. It took a second before it clicked and Riley knew what she was doing.
Oh shit. She thought before Poppy launched the balls at the teacher. There was a furious yelling after some sputtering, but Riley had taken the hint and grabbed Poppy to come along. After a ballsy move like that, Riley wasn't about to leave her hanging. Instead they ran together with Riley in the lead tugging the other girl along. She kept running and running before finally pulling the girl off into a doorway that thankfully ended up being an empty classroom. Once inside Riley dropping the girl's hand and panted. "I think....we lost him..." She said.
Then she couldn't help it. As she regained more of her breath, she started chuckling. Eventually it turned into full on laughter as Riley held her sides and doubled over. "Holy shit did you hear him??? He was so pissed!!!" She said, remembering the anger in the teacher's tone after he got hit. "Priceless!" She added, mirth still shaking her, fueled slightly by the adrenaline still coursing through her.

What had caused Poppy to pull a move like that was anybody's guess. She saw the party pooper and something in her shift. She wanted to give him a piece of her mind and what better way was there than to carry on with the snow war. Like she gave a flipping care as to what he thought was deemed inappropriate for a few Bellefonte students.
After the shots were fired, and the giddy and satisfied feeling inside the girl that was bubbling to the surface, her cover companion tugged her along before the two broke off into a run. Poppy was not an athletic one but recently she had been doing a two mile run in the mornings as punishment for attacking a teacher with a chair failing to prank a teacher. However, at that particular snow war morning, she sent a silent thank you to Mr. Buckles for making her do those runs.
She followed the other girl into the building and into -- thankfully for them -- an empty classroom. One minute they were panting and trying to catch a breath but the next they were bursting into fits of laughter. "Oh my god, totally!!" Poppy recalled how pompous and pissed the teacher had sounded when he was attacked with her snowballs. "I so want to go back there again and throw more!" exclaimed the girl.
She leaned against the door as she tried to calm herself. Easier said than done. "This is why I love pranking," she said matter of factly. It gave her a good laugh to know she was the one who had given them that great deal of annoyance.

Riley could not actually believe that the girl had done that. Who was bold (or stupid) enough to fire a snowball at some raging teacher? Contrary to belief, Riley had a feeling that would heat him up even more then cool him down. And judging from the yelling she heard, her prediction was right. Myth busted: snow does not in fact help a teacher chill out. She thought as they sprinted inside and away from the angry shouting. Once they were in the room and Riley had busted out laughing, She realized how completely insane that had been.
"Whoa whoa, hey there quick-shot. Might not wanna test your luck too much!" Riley instructed, calming down a little. Although a few seconds later she was snickering anew as she thought about it. "Although I've got to admit that might've been worth it just to drench 'em." She confessed. After her laughter went back down to chuckles, Riley smirked and gave her trademark two-fingered salute. "By the way, name's Riley. That was some good shooting out there, Tex. Hey if we ever have another snowball fight, I'd totally want you on my team." She said, grinning lopsidedly. "Although hopefully a stick-in-the-mud teacher won't come by and ruin it."

Yes, was it bold or stupid? There was a fine line dividing the two and Poppy Lockwood had crossed it too many times to count due to her penchant for acting on impulse. She had not been thinking except for the entertainment of throwing a snowball at a raging teacher would provide her. The fact that they outran the pissed adult made it all the more hilarious.
She continued snickering with the girl even when she gave her a little advice. It was true -- the nineteen year old should not push her luck too often because one day she would ran out of it. With the consequences she had gotten, one would think Poppy would have learnt it by now. Nope. It was too fun to resist for her.
"Poppy," she replied and smiled appreciatively at the compliment. "If one ever appears again, I am very tempted to drown them in snowballs," she said in a joking manner. Though once said out loud, the idea was beginning to take shape in her mind. Laughing, the brunette shook her head.
In the quiet and empty classroom, Poppy then remembered the initial reason she got out of her dorm that morning. "I was actually planning on getting some food in before getting sucked into a snow war. Care to join me?" Riley was definitely a fun to be around.

"Poppy huh? Well we've had one hell of a first meeting." Oddly enough the name seemed to suit the other girl. Not so much when talking about the seeds, but more along the lines of the noise 'pop' itself. She just had a very...."poppy" personality. Ok brain, shut up. That was absolutely horrible. Read a dictionary or a thesaurus sometime soon. Riley mentally rolled her eyes at herself, but grinned on the outside when Poppy agreed to teaming up with the girl should another snowball fight come along. "Niiiiiice. I'll gladly help to get back at them."
Especially considering most of Riley's clothes were wet at this point from all the snow. She shivered a little, but it wasn't horrible. Besides, Poppy mentioning food distracted her right away. Riley looked over and smirked, nodded. "Sure! I'm starving too to be honest, and I don't really have anything else to do right now." Riley shrugged and headed over to the door. She made sure to peak out first for their angry teacher before actually going outside. She really didn't want to get an earful today. "So Poppy, tell me about yourself. Got favorite music?" Definitely the most important question.

The nineteen year old girl nodded her head in agreement, chuckling at the thought of it. Well that was one way of describing their first encounter. Poppy Lockwood had various kinds of first meetings. Sneaking out after curfew, broke into a shop, pranking someone, etc. But a snow war was a new one. What was it that Patch had said? Ah yes, the girl led a colorful life.
After introducing herself, she was not sure where her name laid in the other's mind since she gave no hint as to what was going on in that bright mind of hers. But she figured Riley might have be thinking of the drug or the flower or something since that was what most people thought.
"Awesome." She followed the other girl to the door. After checking that the coast was clear, she walked beside Riley as they headed for the cafeteria where Poppy could not wait to down a cup of hot mint hot coco. "Oh, I use my powers way too often which leaves me hungry most times. And from that little stunt, you can say I like annoying teachers more than I like listening to them," she said chuckling.
"As for music, I probably sound really cliche but I like pop, like OneRepublic...and Disney songs. Okay, go ahead, your turn."
Post by Riley Forrester on Feb 2, 2016 15:25:50 GMT -6
"Hungry huh? What powers you have then? Mine just makes my throat hella sore." Riley explained with a chuckle. "I can mimic any voice or sound pretty much. It's great for halloween since I can basically fool anyone so long as I'm completely covered." Riley said, snickering as she thought of some instantly she'd scared the bejesus out of some of her classmates. "And I hear you. That's cool though. Some of the teachers are so stuck up, they need a good prank. Most of 'em are pretty cool though. And a lot of them seem like models." Riley mused, scratching her head. "It's kinda strange. Mutants all seem really attractive. Maybe it's part of the gene or something."
With that out of the way, Riley grinned at Poppy's music choices. "Nice! As for me...hummm...." Riley thought about it for a while. "Well I love a ton of stuff, but Pendulum is awesome. Knife party too, considering. I love me some Disney." She agreed, even if one Disney song would now forever make her heart hurt. "Um....but yeah just a ton of music in general." She said shrugging. "How's about what you wanna study? That's always interesting to hear. There's a helluva lot to pick from here."
