You’re Not Alone

Roxana didn’t really know how well this was going to go over with the younger girl, but it was not like she had a choice in the matter. She had to leave and the length at the moment was that this was going to be forever. A part of Rox wanted that, to be away from this school forever and away from those that had caused her to change in ways that made her feel weak but there was another part of her that wanted to stay. Apart of her that she knew was going to try and figure out a way to come back or that if she could not that she would find some way to keep in contact.

All of that was up in the air at the moment and Rox didn’t want think about it. For now she just had to talk to Demi, apologize to the other girl for leaving, and make it clear that she had to listen to Vera. Rox already had a plan that Vera would be taking charge of both the squads while mostly leading Alpha. As for Beta they could be led by someone on the schools actual security like Humphries perhaps. She would make it clear that none of the current squad members should be made leader of their squads because that would have just been a foolish move.

Yet again, all of that was something she would mostly talk about with Vera and those who were a part of the schools security. At the moment she knocked on Demi’s door, waiting for the younger girl to answer it because she made sure to come at time a time when Demi would be in here room. “Demi, I wish to speak with you.” Roxana said, followed by another knock on the younger girl’s door.

Things had changed. Quickly. Demi had felt ostracized and alienated even before people had discovered there were mutants, before her people had outed themselves like that. Now she found herself in a strange position, half hated, half revered, half feared. She couldn't help but practically swell as she thought of people who would cower before her now, particularly with her new position on the squad. People looked up at her now.

But was this what she wanted? Or should she try to see if she could go back to the people. Except those weren't her people, as she'd proven to Roxana when they'd first arrived. So where did that leave Demi?

falling back into her old pattern of avoiding people and training, for the most part. Basic Flow form didn't require a partner or even much room. Demi actually practiced it every morning in her bedroom, going through motions, working it all out. And she did so now, flicking her wrist, getting it just right. The knock caused her to lose control, dirt falling on the floor around her.

Demi sighed, kicked a foot in a sweeping motion to collect it all back up, and turned to the door. "Come on in: it's not locked," she said, irritated but at least willing to let Roxana inside. Wasn't like she was doing anything she shouldn't: Demi had even pushed aside anything in the room she might trip over or otherwise affect while she went through her forms.

Roxana waited a moment before going in once Demi gave her permission to. She knew the door was not locked, but it was still not smart or polite to just walk into someone’s room. If she startled the other girl then she would have had to deal with likely a fitful of dirt come her way or something along those lines. On the way here she had thought of what she was going to say and how she was going to say it, but now seeing Demi she was not so sure. Perhaps she should have kept this over the phone like she had done for the rest.

Then she recalled why she could not do it the phone way, because she was dealing with Demi. "Sorry to bother you, I won't be here long." Roxana assured the younger girl as she stepped into the room. She didn't go too far in, instead closed the door behind her and remained a foot or so away from it. Her piercing blue eyes looked around the room for a moment before they landed on Demi. "I will be leaving soon, the school. I'm transferring back to my old school and I wanted to let you know that you were a great...protégé of sorts." Roxana said, giving Demi a small smile for a moment.

"Do try your best to listen and respect Vera if you wish to remain on Alpha, since she is in charge now." Roxana informed Demi, figuring the best way to go about it was to just get it all out there. She never was one to really beat around the bush on a topic.

Won't be here long? Demi wasn't sure whether to add a good to that or ask why. She opted for silence for the moment, staring up at the older girl and wondering what was going on there. The door closed, which meant that Roxana wanted privacy. Weird. Demi met the eyes, listening...

transfer? Demi blinked at that, realizing that there was a compliment there too. There was more, something about how she needed to respect Vera who was apparently in charge now. That had Demi snorting. "Yeah, more like she should listen to me," Demi said, folding her arms over her chest. She considered the girl again, tilting her head slightly. "Why are you leaving? Get scared of something?" Because it couldn't be the group. Demi and Rox had already investigated that once and Roxana hadn't done anything then. So... what? Demi couldn't see any reason why Roxana would suddenly have to leave.

And she couldn't help but feel more than a little betrayed too. Roxana had been putting all that time and energy into Demi and for what? So she could just up and leave?

Roxana was not really certain how Demi was taking all of this, but it didn't seem to be bad. It didn't seem to be good either, but she was more so focused on getting her point across and trying to assure Demi that it was not her fault or that she hated her. Nothing like that, she just had to leave; and while it was Demi's people's fault, it was not Demi's fault. Roxana was going to try and make that clear, but she was very blunt so it was hard to say if things were going to happen as tactfully as she wanted them to. "No, she is still older then you and thus should have your respect. She does have skill and can even show you a thing or two." Roxana pointed out.

Yes, she was aware that Demi had beaten Vera in a fight, but that didn't change too much. Sometimes you lost fights, sometimes you won them but that didn't mean your position or the amount of respect you earned and deserved changed. Why was she leaving? There had to be a right way to word this. Rox almost chuckled at the question of if she was scared of something, but didn't because she didn't chuckle and because a part of her was scared. Scared of something that most would not have been scared of and it was weird to think that this fear was also a part of why she wanted to leave.

"There is a family matter that I need to go back and help out with. Plus mutants are known about in this area and that is something me and my family are not comfortable with. So I'm leaving." Roxana informed Demi. She was still not sure how Demi was going to take all of this, but in the end she was leaving. There would be no stopping that, she wanted to and had to. Even if a part of her wondered if she could take Demi back with her and have her become like those who worked in her organization.
