The bubble child almost skipped along the dorm hallway, dragging behind her a rainbow coloured suitcase. In her otherhand, she held a bright red bag. Ava was wearing her usual style, blue jeans, knee high boots, a pink and black checkered shirt and a paor of elbow lenght silk gloves.
She knocked on the door with an eager tap, her fingers sliding inside the gloves. After a few moments the door opened, and Ava cracked a smile. Hello! Im Ava! Im your roommate! She reached out her hand to grasp Callie Montgomery 's hand and shake ot.

It was the start of a new school year. Callie was more than excited to get back in the swing of things. Over the summer her brother had come up to visit her and it was the first time anyone in her family had come to visit her since she was sent here four years ago. It was nice to see him and catch up with him. He filled her in on what was going on at the ranch. Mama and daddy were well and everything was normal, as always. Austin only stayed for a month, which was fine. They had grown apart ever since she's been at Bellefonte. She wasn't sure if it was a natural thing of if he was jealous. He would never admit it if it was, but the fact that he had made an attempt to visit her made her disregard the jealous thought.
Callie was in her newly assigned dorm. Unpacking the few things she had left when she heard a knock at the door. Leaving her suitcase she wandered over and open the door to find a smiling Ava, her roommate. "Hiya there Ava! It sure is a pleasure t' meet ya." A soft southern voice drawled behind her. "The name's Callie. Callie Montgomery." She said with a warm smile and shook the girls hand. She eyes the gloves for a moment, before speaking again. "Come on in why don't ya?" She said as she pushed the door wide open.
There was soft country music radiating from her room. "What is it ya got hidin' under those gloves of yers?" She asked cocking her head to the side. Her blonder hair fell in her face. Pushing it aside she smiled at the girl returning her hands to her back pockets, biting her bottom lips slightly.
The bubbly girl grinned. Nice to meet you to! She lifted a gloved finger to brush away a strand of aurburn hair from her pale face. She squeazed the girls hand with a warm smile. Halò Callie! The girl slipped into scottish gaelic, hardly realising. She nodded her head in thanks and pulled herself and her bag through the door.
After a moment she sat on her bed. She laughed at the question softly, pulling her gloves off. Just hands! Her soft scottish tones mingle with her words. Ava bekoned Callie over with a hand. But... The girl held her hand flat before her mouth, smiling at Callie before she blew a gentle stream of air onto her palms.
After a moment, a stream of maybe 10 bubbles flew into the air, varying in different colours. One or two popped after a few seconds, filling the room with the scent of mangos and raspberries. I can make bubbles... Ava giggled lightly. tag Callie Montgomery

Callie bobbed her head back and forth, it was sort of her thing. It almost made it look like she was always dancing. She wasn’t though. She didn’t say anything about Ava’s accent. She wasn’t one to talk, she had one that she was well aware of, and there was a handful of other students at the academy who had them as well. Ava was stuck with her, and Callie knew in good time she would know everything she’d need to about her new roommate. It was only the first day, so as an act of kindness she let the accent slip by, for now.
The mutant watched as Ava sat in her bed. She loved the layout of the dorms. Everyone had their own room, yet they all shared a room. It was so fun. Her smile remained plastered on her face like it always was, and she began twisting the tips of her hair. She studied Ava’s face, soaking in all of the girl’s curves and soft contours of her features. She watched patiently as Ava removed her gloves to reveal normal looking hands. She was slightly disappointed. She remained in the doorway, leaning against the beam. She tilted her head slightly when Ava continued with a but. Perhaps there was more. Callie’s blue eyes were wide with fascination as she blew on her hands and bubbles formed. Callie’s smile turned into a gleaming grin, like a child who had just seen bubbles for the first time. She had seem bubbles before, but normally you would have to get a bottle and pull out a stick and blow into the stick which would only produce a few bubbles at best. But this, this was amazing. Callie crinkled her nose as the bubbles floated in her direction. One popped on the tip of her nose. Immediately the sweet scent of mangos and raspberries filled the air. It was truly remarkable. “This is amazin’!” She exclaimed with her southern drawl thicker than it had been in a while. She clapped her hands together. “More! Do more!” She said looking at her new roommate with eyes filled with awe.
Callie reached into her back pocket and pulled out her pocket cam. She turned it on and began filming Ava. Without permission as usual.
Ava observed the way Callie bobbed her head, listening to the country style music. It wasnt really something she was familiar with, after all, she had been brought up in a small scottish village around good old folk music.
The girl, too, liked the layout of the rooms, and she couldmt complain, jer roomie seemed preety cool. Her hazel-green eyes examine the other girl features, her blonde hair and blue eyes. She was pretty... very pretty. Ava wouldnt deny it.
Her own grim grew wider as Callie's did, an inhale of breath fillimg her lungs before she exhaled again, blowing a line of air onto her palm. After her lungs were emtpy, she dropped her hands, looking at Callie with glittering eyes. A girlish laugh echoed forth from her lips as one of her precious bubbles popped on her roomates nose. Her laugh became harder as Callie clapped her hands, begging for more.
Ok ok! Ava said, rubbing her hands together, before bringing them to her mouth and blowing. Once again, bubbled of various sizes and colours sprung into the air from her hands. She was accutely aware of the camera filming her and her bubbles, but she didnt really care.

Callie watched with fascination as Ava appeased her and produced more bubbles. It was magical. Simple pleasures. Yes, Callie would most certainly get along with her new roommate, and of course, the bubbles. Although, as of right now, that was the only thing she knew about the girl. The bubble girl. That would change.
Callie’s arms were steady as she held her tiny camcorder. It was her thing, she needed it. It help her greatly. She had spent countless nights watching everything she’s filmed, studying everything with exact precision. She would always challenge herself by trying to picture the scene before she’d watch it. This would be no exception. She zoomed into Ava’s face, close up of her auburn hair, her hazel eyes. The way they moved, everything. The bubbles were still floating about the room, which now had the most pleasant sent of mango's and raspberries. She was starting to crave them. Her camcorder wasn’t interested in the bubbles. No. It was interested in the bubble girl. Callie bobbled her head back and forth again, lovely the bubbles. “It’s been decided. Imma call you bubbles.” She said with a giggle. Yup, that’s how it would work. Ava will be no longer referred to as Ava. No. In Callie’s mind she was bubbles. She zoomed out a bit to reveal the girl’s entire face and part of her neck on the tiny screen. This was important. After this, she’d put it away.
She realized that the music had stopped playing in her room. She’d put it back on in a little bit. After she put her camcorder away. Callie smiled at the girl, waiting to see. Her eyes shifted to the bubbles that were beginning to pop. Her smile grew wider.
Ava's whole face lit up brilliantly with merriment as her bubbled filled the air. She turned her gaze for a moment to Callie and the camcorder, her smile widening. Like stars her eyes glittered, hair of fire falling down her neck.
She looked up with a cheeky smile as the girl spoke. Bubbles it is then! She giggled, before dropping her hands.I dont think I can manage any more today! Unless i pass out The girl pulled back on her gloves, before laying back on her bed, arms behind her head. So Callie, where are you from? tag Callie Montgomery

Callie watched as the last bubble popped. One last fresh burst of the pleasant scent filled the air. It was like her own personal brand of air freshener. So cool. Her eyes shifted between the camcorder screen and Ava. Her reaction was perfect. She kept her arms steady and everything was in frame when Ava reacted with a smile and a giggle. After Bubbles put her gloves back on, Callie quickly turned off the camera and stuck in back in place in her back pocket. She gave an exaggerated frown to Bubbles. Darn. No more bubbles, for now.
“Aw shucks, that’s alright. We don’t wantcha passin’ out now.” Callie said with a smile. There would be plenty of time for bubbles later on. “Do you always wear those gloves of yours?” She asked with a smile as she pointed to Ava’s hands. Curiosity always go the best of her. She knew that she would have her answer, Ava has been extremely forthcoming so far. She was sure it wouldn’t stop anytime soon. She watched Ava lay back on her bed. Callie remained in the door frame, itching to put her music back on, but Ava had asked a question that Callie had no problem in answering. She started playing with the tips of her hair again. “I’m from a small town in Texas. The only way you’d know ‘bout it is if you’re from there.” She said with a laugh. It was true. Her town had may be at most three hundred people, and that was an over estimate.
“How ‘bout ya Bubbles? I heard that accent in your voice. What’s it? Scottish?”
The girl shifted until she was comfortable. She looked up at the ceiling, smiling before tilting her head to the side to look at Callie. When I first got my powers I used to blow so hard and for so long I would pass out. She laughed. My Ma used to freak out.
She lifted her hand and twisted her gloves hand. She nodded. Aye most of the time. My skin makes the like soap mixture, but its quiet sticky, and a pain to get off. Plus not many like their cloaths smelling of mangos and raspberries for a while. She giggled again, running her blue fingers through her hair.
She flipped onto her stomach and propped her head up with her hands, looking curiously at Callie.Texas? I read about that! Is it true your all cowboys? The girl asked, eyes glittering. Her smile grew brighter at the question, nodding.Aye. A wee village in Fife called West Wyssm.

Callie watched carefully as her new roommate shifted about in the bed. The way her body moved and formed new positions with every moment. She wiggled her shouldered around, starting to feel it become numb. She began playing with the tips of her hair again and started to twist the tip of her hair as she heard Ava speak again. Callie let out a little giggle and crinkled her nose. Passing out wasn’t all bad. She had that happen to hear a few times when she had first started using her power as well, she was sure that she probably had her beat though. Callie recalled the first time she went blind. It lasted about thirty minutes or so. It was the scariest thirty minutes of her life.
The mutant nodded her head listening to Ava explain the need for her gloves. “That makes sense.” She said as she smacked her lips. “Although, I personally love the smell you or maybe it’s your bubbles give off.” She said as she gave the air a deep sniff once again. “It’s fruity.”
Her grey eyes went wide for a split second when Ava flipped on her stomach. Callie was paying extra close attention to how the girl moved, how frequent she moved to be exact. She let out a long laugh at the mention of cowboys. “Yes ma’am. All us good folks are cowboys and gals of course.” She said amplifying her southern drawl more so than usual. She gave a small nod and wink, making it seem like she was tilting her invisible cowboy hat. It was always interesting to her to hear what other people thought about Texas. She laughed again, “We ain’t all cowboys.” She said, trying to answer the girls question seriously now. She continued, “Though, it depends what you consider a cowboy.” She gave a shrug. If it was men on horsed riding through the open dry plains that was the west, shooting their guns, hollering and fighting Indians. Than no. They weren’t cowboys. Her brother Austin’s face came to mind however, and her daddy of course as well.
Callie nodded her head, “Ahhh…” She said, when Ava mentioned her hometown. “Yeah, I ain’t gonna lie. I ain’t gotta clue where that’d be.” She said letting out another laugh. Geography wasn’t her strong suit. She cocked her head to the side and raised an eyebrow. “But if you’re from Scotland, whatcha doing in Montana? Ain’t there schools over there?” She asked, gesturing to some other place.
Ava laughed at her roomies compliment. I love it to! She giggled, cheeks glowing with merriment. Yeah, mangos and raspberries is how i think it smells. She tucked a stand of hair behind her ear before gazimg at Callie.
A loud yet delicate laugh rebounded in her mouth, escaping her lips in a girlh trinkle. Her hazley green eyes watch Callie mime a cowboy tipping his hat. Aww so the movies arent true! She said with exagerated sadness, pouting her lip before laughing again. Umm.. cowboy... a person who rides and cares for horses and wears a hat? She laughed at her own definition, before waving her hand dismissivly at Callie.
Dont worry, most people dont! Its a little village on the coast with around 300 people. She smiled, rolling onto her side. It was the one problem with her power. Some times it make her skin awful itchy! Yeah there was a real nice school over there, but Da got job offer over her, and we all agreed to come over.

Callie face was gleaming with excitement and happiness. She really liked this girl, and her power too of course. She sniffed the air a few more times to get the last bit of scent that was still roaming about before it diffused out. “Yes ‘em, most definitely, ‘specially raspberries.” She said as she used her arms to waft whatever was let closer to her. The diluted scent filled her nose. She was craving some fruit now.
The college student let out a laugh in response to Ava’s laugh. She brushed all of her blonde hair to one side, and ran her fingers through it. “No the movies ain’t true.” She gave a frown and shook her head. Perhaps she should make a documentary of the everyday life of a Texan. It wouldn’t be popular. It’d be too boring for the American audience. Living on a ranch though, is anything but boring. She smiled at the memories. Callie let out a snort between her laughter and immediately covered her nose and mouth trying to refrain herself from snorting again. “That ain’t a bad description of a cowboy.” She said letting out a giggle. With that thought of a cowboy, she thought of her brother, who fit Ava’s description so perfectly. “It sounds like my brother if ya ask me.” Now that Callie was gone, he was the only one left to tend to the animals. They normally split the work. Callie would get the horses and chickens and Austin would be responsible for the cattle and pigs. But now that she’s been gone. He had to do everything himself. Maybe that was why he resented her a bit. That would make sense.
Her blue-grey eyes went wide with fascination as Ava spoke about her hometown. She clapped her hands together, “That’s as big as my town is!” She said as she watched Ava rolled over. “Oh wow! That was nice of y’all! That's a big move though.”
