"Wonderful," Elsa mumbled under her breath. Didn't people realize that this was supposed to be a celebratory event? Yes, there was a good deal of stress and work involved with the whole process, but the whole point of making it an event was to siphon off some of that stress, to make it easier for all parties involved. They'd all work together toward a common goal, for a common good, together.
Which was, of course, why they were now fighting one another over something ludicrous. And, being mutants, their petty squabbling meant that there were powers involved. As Elsa happened to be neither combat trained nor blessed with an offensive power, that left her only one recourse.
Roxana! Elsa sent the thought spiraling out, knowing it would only lock onto familiar thought patterns. Which did mean that Ellen or Erika might catch the word and wonder what that was about. But Elsa was looking for someone in particular, and soon enough, she found her: "Roxana Strix!" Elsa said as she waved toward the other girl. "I need you to come with me! We've a security issue!"
And likely that was just the start, but Elsa knew she didn't have to tell Roxana that: the girl was savvy enough to figure it out on her own.

Roxana had been mostly on standby since she had been asked to do several things for the move in events. It came from the fact that not only was she part of security but also a members of a few of the clubs that were involved today. Thankfully there were others that were able to handle the other jobs she would have been assigned to in her other clubs and thus she was able to focus on helping people move and just make sure things went smoothly. Her mind was already slightly daydreaming about a few things; a Russian tune floating around in her head, and her eyes scanning around the area.
Her thoughts were then interrupted by hearing her own name inside her head and not in her voice. Not too long after hearing her own name in her head, she head it once more in full out loud. Elsa Bellefonte was calling her, saying she needed her to come with her, and that there was a security issue. Wonderful. How could moving in cause a problem, literally all you had to do was move your stuff in and play nice; something that should not have been hard at all. Rox just gave a simple nod as she moved to follow Elsa. Whatever the problem was, Rox would help solve it because it was her job. Simple as that.
"I assume that it involves fighting since you called on me." Roxana spoke up; making conversation to mostly have Elsa tell her what was going on. She could assume and figuring out based on the fact that Elsa had called her and the way Elsa had spoken. However; it was always welcome to be told what exactly was going on so she best knew how to handle the situation when she got there.

"Well, I did think about asking for your help when the Freshman wanted advice on where to put the poster of the Minot painting that she'd gotten for her very first dorm on her own, but I figured that I should probably reserve calling in the big guns for the truly important matters," Elsa rattled off, words falling out of her at about the rate that bullets left a machine gun. She'd already started moving, knowing that Roxana would be falling right into step with her. Months of practice had made it so the two could practically move as one, and that wasn't even counting whenever Elsa synced their minds.
"It's a couple of younger students," Elsa said, knowing what Roxana really wanted. "They're just up ahead," she pointed, where flashes of what looked like light and sounds of someone moving far too fast could be heard. "I think it's over something in particular, but I hadn't really had much chance. Far too many powers being thrown around and we've already got nervous parents as it is."
And Elsa wanted to handle this on a lower level, to prove that the Security Squad, that the Student Council, could handle situations like this before they ever got up to anyone higher.

Rox wondered if Elsa had been joking for a moment. The words leaving the girl's mouth at rapid fire were easy enough for Roxana to catch and understand. She had been around Elsa enough to keep up with what the girl was saying and even with what Elsa was not saying. It was true that while there was still a little bit of confusion between them, it was mostly on Roxana's part that came with her feelings. Thankfully by this point she had done several things to help fix that problem and while the feelings still remained, they no longer would hold all of her thoughts.
There were other things were on her mind now and she was happy that she was able to get back to behaving and working as she did before. They were moving then, as they always did without really needing to direct one another where the other was going, and just had a system that worked. Rox listened as Elsa revealed what they were dealing with and Rox was not really surprised that it was younger student causing a problem. Was it impossible for there to be peace at BA? This is why Rox sometimes wished to go back to her old school or that BA would become stricter. "Noted. Now the question is do you want me to handle this any specific way?" Roxana asked.
Yet again she could guess as to the way Elsa wanted her to solve it but it was easier to just be told. Orders were what she knew best and worked best when she was following orders. By default, with something like this Roxana would just jump in, use her own powers or natural physical ability to put the offended down, and be done with it. She didn't like the whole talk people down from a situation and honestly preferred to annihilate the problem but that of course was not an option.

Again Elsa was almost tempted to through out a semi-sarcastic response, something involving tactical gear and tear gas. She managed to still her tongue for the moment: this situation was already tense enough without her making matters worse. They needed to focus, to treat the situation with the seriousness it demanded. "We're rather public," Elsa reminded Roxana, "and there are several parents here. I would prefer that we try talking them down but, well, if that were an option, I wouldn't have pulled you. given that, you should prioritize safety of others, safety of the students, and speed over anything else. The last thing we need is a debacle, though I honestly doubt it will get that far."
and they were there. The situation had deteriorated some from when Elsa had left. It appeared that one could redirect lightning or some other form of electrical energy while the other appeared to be a speedster. The former was at least a bad enough shot to be completely incapable of hurting anyone save maybe herself, whereas the speedster seemed almost clumsy.
"I think they're fairly new," Elsa said, her eyes flicking. "And they seem... to be arguing about some sort of luggage?" Elsa quirked a brow, looking over at Roxana and shrugging. Sometimes being a mind-reader didn't even give you complete insight.

Roxana was practically waiting for a sarcastic remark; it was practically in Elsa's nature to make those. When one didn't come, Rox didn't mind because it meant that she would get what Elsa actually desired and would not have to hesitate. Her mind was already working, clicking into gear, and working out what she needed to. Given the situation, she would indeed need to put those at fault down, and fast. Mainly for other safety and less of their safety, but Rox would at least try to not injure the parties involved...too much. Elsa spoke of how they were rather public, parents were around, and how she did desire to talk them down but would not have called Rox if that had been possible.
She just gave a simple nod, understanding and already knowing what she needed to do. She just needed to see what powers she was dealing with before she would just go in there, since it was very likely that she was going to get hurt at least a little bit. No pain, no gain. They arrived on the scene; one was wielding lighting, the other running around with great speed. Rox's mind already snapped to a plan of action that would work for putting a stop to the situation as fast as possible. She and the two mutants were going to be hurt, she did not have time to work through an option that would minimize injury.
"Understood. Contact the infirmary." Roxana said and with that she focused on the small dagger in her hand, causing it to grow and extend out much like a staff or more specifically a rod. The back of her hair had quickly turned black due to how fast she used her power, but she was still good. Once the rod was completed, she ran forward, not waiting around for Elsa to tell her otherwise. The rod came in handy first with the speed runner, Rox extending it out right in their path at just the right time where they would not be able to avoid it and likely end up tripping over it.
They would probably be hurting from the crash that would result on them falling flat on their face, but it would prevent anyone else from being hurt. Then it was onto the electricity user, which was the main reason why Rox had made the ground. She didn't hesitate to grab a hold of one of the person's arm, yanking it behind them, and shoving them down onto the ground. The rod was used to redirect the electricity to the ground and prevent Rox or anyone around them from getting shocked. She did feel a slight shock coursing through her body, but she ignored it and was satisfied that the solution was solved. Would it be to Elsa's standards?

Contact the... Elsa sighed but had already pulled out her cell phone, fingers flying across the keys to familiar contacts. This didn't prevent her from keeping one eye on the action. There might have been a slight nod as she thought she saw Roxana look to her, but nothing more than that. Elsa had her job; she trusted Roxana to do her part. She just had to hope that the trained woman actually stuck to "do as little harm as possible."
Well, she just tripped the speedster. Elsa had to actually step out of his way, thankful for some light feet of her own. A family member was already moving forward to tend him even as Roxana went for the girl. Said girl already began protesting, and quite loudly, squirming and trying to blast and almost whimpering as Roxana shoved the shock to the ground.
Which was Elsa's cue to step forward and ask the questions, leaning down to talk to the girl. It didn't take long to discover that the speedster had apparently taken something that wasn't his. He heard and protested, which left Elsa little choice. She looked to Roxana, almost smiling (this was, after all almost ludicrous compared to what they so often dealt with). "I think you need to search him," she intoned with the utmost seriousness.

There was a sigh that left Elsa but Rox knew that she was going to get on it, because that was the kind of person Elsa was. She would assign those to handle a job she could not and she would take care of what she could. Dealing with these kids felt like a child's work, with how new they were into their powers and clearly were still not good at using them. Still, Rox did try to not be to harmful to them when she could have easily made she that they would not be able to use their powers. She could have always just gone for the whole break a few legs, arms, or maybe even cause one of them to pass out.
The whole 'making them black out' would have been perfect for not harming them in any ways but people tended to freak out when someone would black out in such a manner. But that plan came to her a bit too late and by the time it was all over, both of the students had been effectively put down. Not came the talking, which Roxana was leaving all to Elsa. The other girl would know how to interrogate a person without the need of force, where Rox understood how to get info from a person by torture or using the right words. Elsa found out what had happened and it seemed the speed guy was at fault.
Rox didn't hesitate to let the electricity girl go as she stabbed the rod into the ground and headed over to the boy. Search him, that had been basically her orders, and she was going to do just that unless the boy decided to wise up and hand over whatever he took. "Spread them." Rox ordered as she moved to make the boy put out his arms and spread out his legs. It would have looked like he was being arrested and search by police by the way Rox went about it. “What am I looking for?” Rox asked, because she didn’t actually know what had been taken but if it had been taken, she would find it.
Post by Elsa Bellefonte on Sept 8, 2015 19:38:32 GMT -6
Elsa watched the electric girl scramble to her feet. She wasn't entirely certain that was the best course of action, considering that they hadn't quite figured everything out yet. Like Roxana, she strongly suspected that the blame for this particular instance could be laid quite fully at the boy's feet. So she simply turned to him as Roxana did.
Except Elsa didn't bark the order to spread and begin searching. The question had Elsa wondering too, and she turned toward the girl. Before the electrokinetic could even speak, the boy let out a sharp "alright! Just keep the scary one away from me!" before pulling out...
a stuffed animal.
Elsa stared at it for several seconds, blinking. They had... they had just broken up a fight for... for that. It even looked a little bedraggled. the electrokinetic apparently recognized it, letting out a cry of recognition. Elsa, knowing that eyes were on her and she needed to keep up at least a facade of professionalism, coughed into a fist. "Right, Roxana, if you would kindly confiscate the... item and return it to its owner," and she even managed to say it with more or less a straight face.

Roxana didn't feel bad in the slightest for what she had done, because she approached each situation the best way to put a stop to the use of powers. That and because she didn't know who was guilty, they both were at fault until they gained more information. Once more information was gained it seemed like it was speed boy that was at fault. Rox honestly didn't care who started it or why it had started in the first place because her job was just to put an end to it.
That had been done and she would have just let Elsa handle the rest if not for the fact that she still seemed to be needed. Search the boy. Elsa didn't say it directly like an order but Roxana took it as one in the same as she gave out the command. The boy already looked scared and sure enough he was willing to give up before Roxana got close enough to search him. It paid to look the way she did and just had that kind of personality that said 'don't fuck with this', even if it resulted in some level of loneliness.
Well, Rox would not call it loneliness sand more so solitude because that was what she was used to and didn't mind. The object that had been stolen was...a stuff animal. Rox could not help but to look to Elsa, practically saying You made me break up a fight over a stuff animal? without actually saying anything. No doubt Elsa would hear the thought coming from Rox's mind since they were connected or whatever the word Elsa used back then. Rox had been thinking about other things and right now it slipped her mind. Rox didn't hesitate to grab the stuff animal from the boy and return it back to the girl, remaining silent and not having the slight change in facial expression.
Once more looking to Elsa once that was taken care of and assumed that they were all done here, at least she hoped they were. She would not have to fill out any paper work for this, would she?

Again Elsa fought against the urge to burst out in laughter as Roxana grabbed the toy from the surprised young man. There wasn't even a slightest bit of change in her expression, save for that bit which had come with a clearly labeled thought that Elsa wouldn't have missed even if it hadn't come from someone whose mental patterns were almost as familiar to Elsa as her own. The toy walked its path back, and the girl took it.
"Well," Elsa said, nodding and licking her lips for a moment, "I think we can just call this matter settled for now," another nod and a gesture toward both parties. The parents moved forward and Elsa realized that she should probably add a bit more. "It's a high stress situation, and I'm sure that we all know that sometimes we act out. This is why we have a school, so that we can have specially trained personnel," she nodded and gestured toward Roxana, "stop things before they get out of control. There's no harm here, so why don't you all go enjoy some complimentary baked goods?" Elsa pasted on a smile and gestured toward the table.
The families looked at one another for a bit, then at the previously squabbling children, then at the girl who'd done the talking, then the professional, and finally there was some laughter and the families walked away. There were mumbles of punishment, but it was clear that everyone was mostly relieved. Which of course left Elsa and Roxana standing there with a few remaining witnesses.

Roxana had a small feeling like Elsa was laughing on the inside, no doubt having found this to be amusing. Roxana didn't find it to be amusing in the slightest, more so irritating that people fought over something like that. She might have understood if it was something that had a lot of value to it or if someone was protecting another, but a stuff animal. Rox clearly still did not understand the ways of the common people and wondered if she ever would. Once the stuff animal was handed over to the proper owner, Rox moved to take up a position next to Elsa, leaving her plenty of space but still there.
Then Elsa was speaking, giving a speech of sorts to the parents and those around who had wittiness what had happened. Rox was pleased that Elsa was here because she would have just said that the school would protect them and percent anyone from hurting them, themselves, and something along those lines. Or she probably would not have said anything and just went back to standing guard and being on standby until called upon. "Nice speech. Interesting touch of the whole complimentary baked good." Roxana spoke up once the main group of the crowd had started to move back to what they were originally doing.
The last bit of her comment had bene meant to be sarcastic, but she said it with the same tone as she said everything else. Then Elsa was laughing, apparently unable to hold back her amusement over the situation. "Are you certain you needed me to fix that problem? You could not have just read their minds to see what was wrong and call the boy out for stealing?" Roxana asked as she looked to the other girl.
Post by Elsa Bellefonte on Sept 8, 2015 20:20:21 GMT -6
"It's called distracting," Elsa replied, smiling slightly. Now that the situation had defused she could let her amusement at the whole thing bubble up to the surface. "They'll be focused on the baked goods and the sheer silliness of the whole thing--"
Elsa paused, however, as Roxana continued, asking if Elsa had needed her, but doing so in a way that Elsa could very much read as telling instead. "Yes, I could," Elsa admitted. "But this allowed us to show how effective we are at breaking up fights that could have been more violent. And if either of them had been more in control or there had been something greater to worry about, then we would've made a--"
Elsa paused, mostly because she could hear shouting again. She had already started looking toward the other direction, where the family had left, only to realize that it was coming from the opposite direction. Sighing, Elsa reached up to massage the bridge of her nose. "Tell me that someone hasn't actually set their luggage on fire..." Because that most definitely had been what she'd thought she'd seen and now was hearing.
Post by Roxana Strix on Sept 8, 2015 20:45:51 GMT -6
Elsa pointed out that it was called distracting. Roxana knew that but it just reminded her of something that would happen on TV. People would be freaking out about something, then a person would break it up, and another person would distract the group by offering free cookies or something. If anything, that was what Roxana found almost comical about the situation but she didn't laugh. A small smile appeared on her face for a moment, but that was all. There seemed to have been more that Elsa had wanted to say but Rox had cut her off, not on purpose but more so to get her point out there.
She really didn't see how Elsa needed her help with a situation like that where a simple mind reading would have solved it all. Or did Elsa just like to read the minds of people who she talked to or didn't want inside their heads? No, that was an unfair judgment. Elsa had a valid point with her words about how it was a display of what they could do. So Rox had been used to help show what the school was capable of, she could understand that. "I understand." Roxana responded, noting that Elsa had paused but still felt the need to make it clear she got what Elsa had meant. There was another commotion going on, wonderful.
Why was there even drama on a day like this? Was it impossible for there to be a day of pace at BA? They needed that to be a holiday. Rox looked off in the same direction before looking back to Elsa, waiting for her word on the matter. They could just ignore it, well they could but they probably should not. "Demi would be best suited for that job." Rox spoke up when Elsa mentioned the possibility of luggage being on fire.
Post by Elsa Bellefonte on Sept 8, 2015 20:52:52 GMT -6
Yes, Roxana probably did understand. And yes, Elsa did catch that bit about how she barged in with people who didn't want her inside their heads. She was almost tempted to, and likely had started on, give out a comment regarding the whole fact that on some level she literally couldn't get out of someone's head, particularly if that someone happened to be Roxana. But, well, fire.
"The little Inherited girl?" Elsa repeated, arching her brows. "Well, she doesn't seem to be around, and we are," she pointed at Roxana and then herself, before starting toward the fire. "Come on: this is part of the joy of working for an academic institution on the wonderful week of moving in. If we hurry we might be able to stop it from getting out of hand."
Though admittedly Elsa wasn't completely certain how they would handle this one. She wagered that it would involve her talking people down and handling crowd-control while Roxana figured out some way of smothering the fire in a manner that was bluntly professional.
