Studying. Yep. Definitely studying.
....Ok so maybe not.
Riley sighed and rubbed her face, trying to focus on he words on the page. Except she was pretty sure she had read the same sentence about six times and was actually getting nowhere at all. It wasn't that she wasn't enjoying studying. Or that she wasn't interested in the information on the page. She loved psychology, really. It was fun to read about honestly.
However, she had been at this for two hours now. Two hours was a long time to be stuck inside the library hunched over a book reading, dressed in a comfortable outfit that fit her Punkiness. But she wasn't really focused on that. Or anything really. She was just.... Gah.
Finally she threw her head back and slumped in her chair, staring at the ceiling. "Dear god, I won't survive much longer." She mumbled, staying that way for a few seconds. Then she sat back up to look at the page... And realized she wasn't alone. She blinked at the new person sitting at her table. "Oh. Hi." She offered. Holy shit. She's like a ghost
Maya was good at many things. She was great at playing football and making friends. She was a social butterfly. She was great at talking and making the most of herself. She was rarely shy and she had a knack for making people laugh. What she wasn't as great at though, was studying. She had never enjoyed sitting still for very long. She'd planned this little adventure to the library in an attempt to get caught up with her schoolwork, because if she didn't do that early on, she'd never be able to get into a routine...
Looking about the library, Maya picked a table that was for the most part empty, save for another girl who looked at the book in front of her as if it would swallow her whole. She didn't blame her. At all.
Sitting down, Maya placed the notebook in front of her and sighed. The other girl's voice caused Maya's brown eyes to slide up, blinking slightly. "Hey," she replied a moment later, her mouth widening into a grin. Well, would you look at that. She'd barely gotten the time to sit down before distractions found her once more.

The girl who sat down seemed to be alright, especially considering the grin that grew on her face. It definitely made a smile grow on Riley's face as she glanced down at the notebook the girl had set down. "I'm guessing you're trying out the whole 'studying' thing too?" Riley asked, smirking slightly. "Name's Riley by the way." The girl added, doing her trademark two fingered salute from the temple to the girl.
But then Riley realized the girl might actually want to studying rather than talk. Why else would she be in the school library, you idiot? Her brain pointed out. Which made Riley run her fingers through her hand and smile apologetically. "Oh, sorry. You might actually want to study and here I am chatting away." Riley mused. Which meant she only talked more. Dammit.

Snorting, Maya rolled her eyes. "Trying sounds like and overestimation." No, she truly wasn't cut out for this. But even so, her smile remained on her lips. Maya was never one to let annoying things keep her down for very long. She prided herself in being a pretty go-lucky and cheery kind of person. "Maya," she greeted the girl in turn, chuckling softly at the two-finger salute she offered. Maya, however, reached her hand out.
Hey, at least she was somewhat polite. That had to count for something.
Then, the girl was looking for an escape. Now, Maya couldn't have any of that. Nope. "Nahhh," she said, waving her hand in the air. "I appreciate the distraction." Hey, she didn't mind admitting that she absolutely hated studying, and besides, the girl seemed awfully nice.

Riley chuckled at her response and nodded. "I hear you there." She agreed. Yeah, studying was getting a bit... Eh. Seriously. I think I've studied enough for right now. She argued with herself. So it would be fine to just chat with this random girl, who was named Maya it seemed. When she offered a hand, Riley took it and shook it firmly. "Nice to meet you, Maya." She said honestly before letting go of her hand.
Maya assured her that Riley wasn't disturbing her, so Riley could stay. She chuckled and nodded. "Alright then. I don't mind the chance to chat instead of staring at the same sentence over an over." She admitted with a lopsided grin."Speaking of which, what were you trying to study?" She asked. It was a good enough conversation starter, Riley supposed.
