Being apart of an auction was fairly new to Oneyka. They had nothing of the sort back home, so at first Onnie had been skeptical about all of it. She was all for raising money for a good cause, she loved helping out as much as she can, but seriously, was it her idea to sign up to be auctioned off? For some reason she had this idea that she'd just be giving money up to the good cause, not being apart of an auctioning block. Well at least that was the part she left out to Jack and now she was sure he'd be against the idea.
No wonder she was told to come looking her best. Well there couldn't be any harm in going through with this, right? Whoever had the highest bid chose the date or that's how it was explained to the others and she was hoping to do some bidding herself. Now that plan had been scratched off with her being the "prize".
After the curtains opened and the auctioneer introduced her to the crowd, Oneyka did her best to stand confidently and give off her best smile. Only to look towards the auctioneer. Maybe she could've left out the modeling and pageant stuff? She didn't need the one-hundred and one questions about the type of modeling she did during a date. It was always unnecessary.
Someone then whistled at her from the crowd, causing Onnie to grimace.

Deep breaths in……Deep breaths out.
When Jack heard that Onnie was being put up for an auction Jack of course remained as calm and collected as possible after all why did he have to be nervous about? It was only Onnie his girlfriend easily one of the most prettiest girls in the school. And the highest bidder got a date with her,
There, purely innocent.
Nothing wrong with that.
Why would Jack be worried, it wasn’t like the school seemed to be purely populated with super models with six packs.
It wasn’t like a lot of them had a ton of money to spend.
It wasn’t like they could treat Onnie to a candlelight dinner and sweep her off her feet with charm and seduction that Jack couldn’t. It wasn’t like there was a chance that she be bought by someone with Jedi, mind control powers that could make Onnie leave Jack cold and alone forever while Onnie eloped to Mexico with her boyfriend who was so good looking all Jack wanted to do was tear his face apart NO WHY WOULD JACK FREAK OUT?!
Of course Jack was there in the auction and he made a personal promise to try and not to freak out.
….and then they had to whistle at her….
Well, so much for self control!
WOO! YEAH! ONNIE! YEAH!!!” Jack screamed out making his way onto the stage jumping up and down pumping his fists. The biggest forced grin on his face as he leaned forward and kissed Onnie on the cheek. “Oh this is going to be fun right?! Were all here for a good, fun. Fun. Time. All the fun. All the funny fun will be had.” Jack said in a false jovial sense before moving behind Onnie and getting a chair and sitting himself on the chair clearly intending to stay up on the stage.
“Oh, don’t mind me. I’m just here to have fun too.” Jack smiled as he ever so calmly revealed his bat and placing it gently on his lap taking a few practice swings before sitting it now in full view of the crowd “Carry on”

Okay, so maybe the whistling had been a bad idea. Tim hadn't really thought it through before actually going through with it. He just couldn't help himself. For one thing, he happened to find Onnie very attractive (though Tim was still quite happy with Lux, thankyouverramuch. Plus, he wouldn't purposefully break up a friend's relationship, even if that friend did happen to be Jack McCarthy). For another, while he and Jack happened to be "Friends," that friendship seemed to be more or less built on a foundation of mocking one another and making life difficult.
Which is why Tim had actually pulled out some money for this particular showing. It did happen to be for charity, so Tim was fairly certain he could justify it. he did wish that Lux was here so he wouldn't feel quite so dirty as he did right then. But crowds weren't really her thing, and there was a slight gathering.
Weird, but Tim hadn't heard Jack actually offer a bid. Someone had to open this thing up: "Twenty bucks," he said, raising a hand and waving it. He then pointed at himself, just to make sure that Jack and Onnie were one hundred percent positive on who was there.

Now normally Karsen wasn't the type to play games with people. He was nice and quiet and all around nerdy, however he couldn't help but mess with the irish boy. He saw how much it bothered him that Onnie was up for auction that he decided to help out Charity once again. After all....Giving back to those less fortunate then you, look good on a college application. Even if technically he was already set for college, perhaps he wanted to go to MIT instead of college in Kalispell. At any rate he walked up and waved to Tim an innocent expression on his face before he shouted out his bid. "Two seventy-five" He was paying to see Jack fly off the handle, but the girl was hot too.
He was just waiting, any minute now.. he was just thinking "come on Jack dooo iiiitt, doo iiit, there's the handle fly off." Okay yeah, he was kind of being a jerk but to be honest, Karsen was starting to discover that there was way more to himself than computers and he liked it. He never really got the chance to mess with people outside of technology, it was fun.

There was only one very dubious reason that brought Taylor out on the night of the date auction. This reason happened to be a gorgeous, dirty blonde haired, blue eyed girl he shared... something with. It was, without a doubt, not to offer his idiot brother advise or any sort of moral support. Things between the two Irish young men had been tense at best since Taylor had returned from their home country and Jack had made it crystal clear where his brother stood. Which was exactly why Taylor was now sneaking his way onto the stage, keeping low and hurrying out to where Jack sat. Taylor was nothing if not foolishly stubborn.
Just ask Lucy.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Taylor said after he'd snatched Jack by the collar and hauled him off to the side of the backstage area, out of view of the rest of the crowd. He held onto Jack, spinning the much smaller boy around to hiss in his face. "You really just gonna stand there with your thumb up your ass?" Taylor could damn near slap him, brother or not. With a low sigh, Taylor let loose of Jack's collar and started to dig around in his pockets. "Here." He said, pulling out a wad of bills (far too many than someone like Taylor should have) and shoved them into Jack's hands. "Shut up!" He said, pointing a finger in Jack's face. "No questions." He spun Jack around to face the entrance of the stage and reared back to give Jack a hearty slap in the ass. "Now go and get your girl."

Her brown eyes glanced over the crowd the moment she heard the whistling, to her surprise Tim had been standing in the direction it came from. Had he been whistling at her? Honestly she hadn't expected it from him. Maybe he had done it to be funny? He surely did have a unique sense of humor, something she noticed whenever they hung out. Her face changed as she gave a surprising smile when he was the first to bid. It kind of riled the crowd up a bit, that or just one person.
WOO! YEAH! ONNIE! YEAH!!!”
That one person so happened to be her boyfriend whom she did not expect to show. "What are you doing??" At least she was sort of hoping he wouldn't and not because she didn't absolutely adore seeing his handsome face but because she didn't want to witness the look on it had she been auctioned off to someone that wasn't him. That and he was already showing off her second reason to not telling him. When she received a kiss from him, she moved to quickly grab his arm but he had already moved to sit behind her. "Jack, please. You don't need to babys-"
Her head then turned back to the crowd when a bid of two-hundred and seventy-five dollars was shouted out. "Wow." She wasn't sure if she needed to be happy to know that she was helping raise money, or worried that Jack was still sitting behind her with a bat. Her eyes glanced over at the last bidder and then back to her boyfriend, only to end up looking at the auctioneer who had been eyeing Onnie this whole time. Especially now that Taylor had made his way to the stage but didn't manage to catch a glimpse of him. The young ebony woman gave the auctioneer a sheepish smile, "I promise you I have no part in this."

Actually, Jack probably did need to babysit. Onnie hadn't been around for last year's auctions: she didn't realize the sheer horror that these things could inflict upon people. Tim and Lux still wore some psychological scars from the debacle of last year. At least someone had done the sensible thing and limited the amount of Frank Cox that would be present at the events. Sure, it made things less interesting, but in this case, that might not necessarily be a bad thing.
Then Karsen had to go and severely jack up the bid. Tim jumped and looked at his friend. "Dude, seriously? Not cool," he said, pausing to push his glasses up. "That's his--" and there was some other guy who looked a bit like Jack heading up to the stage and all but shoving money into Jack's hands. Onnie was protesting and looking absolutely horrified, and Tim really couldn't blame her. He was also getting Lux flashbacks, and he seemed to recall Jack stepping in then.
"Take the money, idiot!" he yelled, gesturing at Jack. "And if it's not enough, I can throw in my share," because it was Onnie, who Tim didn't want to see traumatized (why did she even sign up for this? charity?), and, strangely enough, Jack was his friend at the end of the day. They had survived a road trip together, and that was the sort of thing that ended up bonding you for life and all.

Was this bad…Like was this a bad thing to do. Jack admittedly panicked and when he did he tended to do things like…well…this. But this was ok right? He was…..seeming like he was possessive right? Because this totally seemed like something the asshole dick boyfriend in highschool movies would do…Oh god was Jack the bad guy? No, he can’t think like that. No he was the…the…super heroic hero saving his lady from falling into the arms of one of the many MANY handsome people that polluted the halls of the school and therefore minimize the chance of them working their magic on Onnie.
Not possessive at all. Totally selfless.
Of course Onnie was not expecting Jack there but Jack was more then willing to show Onnie that he was more than willing to be on his best behaviour “Onnie Relax I’m just here to get a good look at the-TIM SO HELP ME GOD I WILL STICK THIS BAT SO FAR UP YOUR ASS” Jack said raising his bat in Tim’s general direction before he mentally freaked out at the insane amount that the bids were now at. There was no way he could afford that, before Jack had a moment to Threaten him he was suddenly dragged off the stage by an unknown force but once he figured it out Jack began to tremble. See, the relationship between Jack and his brother was strained to say the very least, so you can imagine how he reacted once Tay was bearing down at him “OH GOD PLEASE DON’T HIT ME AGAIN! I DIDN’T GO NEAR LUCY-WHAT’S HER FACE! IT WAS MY TWIN. AN EARTHQUAKE. ACT OF GOD. I’M A VICTIM OF CIRCUMSTANCE. I’M BEING SET UP. IT WASN’T ME I SWEAR TO GOD!” Jack screamed scrunching up his face fully expecting a punch that never came, after a moment, Jack opened them again to see Tay hand him money. Jack stared at the money for a moment blinking as if not sure what it is, looking up at Tay…then at the money. Then back to Tay. “So, you’re not coming to punch me?...Where did you…” Jack was interrupted as he felt Tay smack him on the behind propelling him forward…and then suddenly it dawned on he…
…He could actually win this…
With renewed vigor he went back on the stage rising the money above his head “Boom. 350.” He said can’t helping but to keep a proud smirk on his face
Wow, he was actually going to win something…Weird…

Although Jack was on his way confidently back onstage, Taylor's work wasn't finished. He slipped away with quietly in order to let the attention focus on his brother and the tall, statuesque young lady. Taylor wasn't sure why he'd gone this far for Jack. Maybe it had something to do with the whole family ties thing but given how their interactions had gone so far, even Taylor had reason to doubt that.
Once he rounded the stage and stepped back into the crowd, Taylor moved across the front, eyes scanning for the two boys who'd thrown out bids before he'd been able to get his hands on Jack. Finding them both standing next to one another, Taylor paused and looked them over. "I trust we're not going to have any trouble, right fellas?" He said, the light calmness to his voice being betrayed by the intense glare in his eyes. "We're just going to let the lad have his fun, yeah?" With that he gave both the boys a nod and moved passed, giving Karsen a hearty smack on the shoulder in the process.

Karsen smiled and was completely unphased by what Taylor and Tim had said, he was done being auctioned and he wanted to have fun. He had time to kill before he had to go bid on Selina to show his support so he was good. He didn't exactly expect to win either one. After all they were very beautiful girls and he understood Jack not wanting to have his girlfriend dating someone else but he couldn't help it.He honestly wanted to see Jack fly off the wall and Jack wasn't his friend. No he was just someone he knew because of Tim, he doubted Jack even knew he was. Which it made it all the more funny, to speak up and raise the bid.
"Three hundred Seventy Five"Karsen said shrugging, he was sure he had enough money to do this, it was just until Jack the bid up so high he didn't even want to play anymore. He felt really bad but at the same time he was waiting for Jack to fly off the handled. He wondered if this was him coming into himself and realizing who he was...or just simply bored and messing with people because he could? At anyrate he was jumping on his feet with excitement...any moment now. He would stop when the bid reached six hundred, that was a nice place to walk away.

By now, Tim was pretty much immune to Jack's threats involving bats and his body. Ever since staring the other guy down while Jack threatened him, well, it was pretty hard to really consider bats as threatening in the slightest after something like that. It didn't hurt that Jack almost immediately cowered before the other guy, shrieking something about some girl or something (unless Lucy was slang for something that Tim didn't understand). The lack of punching meant that Jack was now offering up the money.
The apparent Jack ally showed up, insisting that there wouldn't be any trouble. Tim held up his hands. "That was my plan--" he began, only to stop when the guy next to him announced his bid.
"The hell?" Tim said, turning to Karsen. "What the actual hell man?" he pushed Karsen on the shoulders. "I literally just said to cool it the fuck down! Where the hell are you even getting that kind of money!?" Tim gave his "friend" another shove. "Seriously man: Back. the. Fuck. Down. There's no reason to pull this shit. Quit being a giant freaking ass and just walk away. Use the money to buy yourself a damn hooker if you're that desperate for some tail."
Tim looked about ready to swing: he just could not believe that Karsen would even do something like this. Messing with Jack was one thing, but this was dragging Onnie and whoever the kinda threatening other guy happened to be.

Karsen was enjoying himself, after the diaster that was his auction, he was just glad to be off the stage. He had hadn't expected for things to go south, especially since he wasn't a particularly violent person. Sure he was kind if a vindictive, selfish person but he wasn't violent. The robots were a brief lapse in is his personality. If anyone asked him, he would honestly would say he didn't know what happened. He had forgotten about the bid, didn't even register some random person jacking up the bid. He was still in semi-shock...did Tim just...
Karsen glared at Tim and pushed him back "Since when did you tell me what the fuck to do" He asked not even caring that he was probably missing Jack's reaction to whatever it was. His fisted clenched as he was just as ready to swing as Tim. He didn't know what it was, maybe Tim just deciding that he should back down from a chairty auction? When the people knew very well what they were getting into. Maybe it was something else, besides the logic telling him there was two sides to the story.
"Oh it's not about it sex, not everyone has girls on their mind. As a matter of fact, its not of your goddamn business where the money came from." He didn't care if he was being a jerk about the auction, he had a right to bid on whom ever he wanted, if wanted to go bid on the prom kind or that crazy frank chick he would.

Jack mood instantly lit up once he got on the stage, there was a small tingling in his bones almost of excitement…He was actually going to do it! For the first time in his life he was actually going to win…Something for like the first time ever. He wasn’t going to let Onnie down! He was actually going to pull this off, he couldn’t really believe it. Whose the best boyfriend in the world? This guy. Jack flashed Onnie a wink as if to say “Don’t worried. You’re in good hands. I’m not letting you down” and he wasn’t. He got so much from being with Onnie, and now finally he can return the favour,
he was actually be worth something to her. That’s all he ever wanted.
..and then someone bid higher….
Jack was crushed. That was obvious just from his body language, the smile instantly vaporing and his body instantly sagging like all the weight of the world just collected in his shoulders. He winched momentarily like he just got punched in the stomach.
Of course. He should have known, things don’t work that way with him.
He suddenly felt very small standing on the stage looking at his feet, because God knows he couldn’t look Onnie in the eye, knowing that he let her down again.
Like always.
“Right…So, I’m just going to leave then...sorry” Jack muttered in a quiet voice avoiding eye contact with anyone as he slunk off stage looking every bit like a kicked dog.
Stupid Jack. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Why do you have to fuck up everything!?

Taylor had been content that in his own, weird, sort of foolish way he'd done some good today. His was a tenuous (at best) relationship with his brother that Taylor was determined to give every ounce of effort to repair. Jack remained a lone, solitary familial figure these days. The only link to something more than a meaningless, hollow existence (aside from the cold, often slightly crazy Lucy) that was lurking just around the corner. It all came crashing down when he heard the defiant voice sound off behind him.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Taylor nearly spat the words as he froze in his tracks. The nearly 200lbs rugby playing gorilla spun around to face the two boys who were now facing off like a pair of impotent school children. At least the one looked like he was attempting to talk some sense into the shit that was a blink of an eye away from the worst beating Taylor could imagine dishing out. Then there was a brief scuffle. Taylor had remained in control just long enough to see there was no reason or understanding showing in the kid who'd thrown out such a foolish bid. He'd given Karsen a chance. One chance to see the mistake he was about to make. There was no light that came on. No flicker of understanding to be seen in his face.
That was when Taylor snapped. He hurled his broad frame forward with alarming speed. The great thing about being as big as he was while possessing superhuman speed was that it enabled him to gather an amazing amount of momentum in a dreadfully short distance. Taylor slammed his shoulder into Karsen with every intent on driving the boy into the ground and raining blows onto his target's face until someone stopped him.

Relax.
That was Jack's exact words to her as she glared at him from the front of the stage. He wanted her to just relax. Maybe her boyfriend didn't understand that whenever Jack had a bat in his hand and did things far beyond what was needed, Oneyka couldn't help but to worry. Because that's what you did almost everyday when you were Oneyka Duffuor and you had a boyfriend like Jack McCarthy; You just didn't relax.
Then there was yelling about not going near 'Whats Her Name', and then the crowd full of guys at the auction still going on about and watching whatever was currently happening. Not to mention the bid for three-hundred and fifty dollars that was shouted out.
Wait.
And it came from Jack? Oneyka looked behind her and saw Taylor, with Jack. Taylor... with Jack. What was going on here? The young ebony woman took a deep breath. Had he been apart of that bid? Why on Earth was he helping Jack? "What ar-"
"Three hundred Seventy Five"
Her head shot towards the latest bid, causing her eyes to widen a bit before looking back towards Jack and Taylor. Now she wasn't know whether she was supposed to be happy for the money being raised or worried at the way Jack's facial expression just shattered that instant. Not to mention Taylor hardly looked like he was pleased by the latest bid. She then heard more than a few words being exchanged in the crowd. This wasn't good. Not good at all.
When Taylor rushed off the stage, Onnie hurried towards Jack, reaching out to grab his hand and pull him from leaving just yet. "You and I are going to have a talk." Her voice wasn't harsh, or cold, nor in her usual scolding manner. While letting go, she rushed off stage and into the crowd until she reached the other guys. "Have you guys gone completely mad!?" There had been a ton of curse words flying and shoving involved, not to mention Taylor adding on to the physical altercation but the only problem was seemed to be able to do way more than both Tim and the bidder combined.
She wanted this to stop before it got to the point of no return. There was no way she could stand in between them all, she had a ballet-made body but no where near strong. "Taylor - Stop!" She was petite and weak compared to Taylor but still went out of her way to grab onto one of his arms with the both of hers. Even if she didn't cause him to budge or stop his other arm from raining down the blows, she still tried to pull him back. "Please! Stop this!" Onnie no longer cared about the auction, or who chose to bid. If she had to, she'd outbid everyone just to shut this insanity down. There was no need for anyone to get hurt.
