This had to be illegal - not that Lucy cared much for the law as it was, but surely, this had to be borderline whoring someone out for a fee. Not that it mattered, because it wasn't as if anyone could ever force Lucy to go on a date with someone if she didn't want to. It wasn't as if she'd participated or done this willingly. And that was likely the worst part too. She hated being forced into doing things. Especially when said things were things she didn't at all like.
Which likely showed in her entire being as she stood on the stage, arms crossed over her chest. Anyone who as much as dared as look in her direction got tossed a rather hateful scowl.
Heck, she'd even tried coming across as unappealing as she possibly could. A pair of worn jeans shorts, a tank top, a shirt loosely tied around her waist, a pair of worn sneakers... Her hair was its usual curly mess. Although she hadn't bothered with any make-up, surely, the nasty scowl had to make any boy run away screaming. She didn't exactly have the nicest of appeals around the school. Most people avoided her like fire, which thankfully, was exactly how Lucy preferred it.
"Can I go now?" she asked, turning towards the person who had announced her name, but they simply shook their head and the brunette let out an exasperated breath.

Lucy James was up for auction, it should have been know that the Emory siblings were going to be there to bid for the girl. They also had to go to Franck's bidding since he was Jasper's boyfriend and they had already agreed to split what money the two of them had together. That meant about sixty bucks to bet on Lucy and sixty bucks to bet on Franck. To get more they would have to borrow from those around the fair but their main plan was to use intimidation to keep anyone from bidding against them. Worse case, well they would just beat whoever bid to get them to call back their bid.
With the power, their height, and the fact that it was two of them the siblings were confident that their 'bullying' tactic would work. "So like if you do win, she HAS to go on this date with you?" Jasper asked his brother just make sure that fact was right. He didn't want his brother to win and then Lucy says screw it and just not show up for either of the 'date' things planned. Worse case, at least they had tried which was what both the siblings wanted to do. "I think so but if she really does not want to go with me, we can go with one another." Casper suggested to his brother and by then they were at the bid. Lucy looked as they pretty much expected; someone who really really didn’t want to be there.
Well, she was there so the least they could do was try and cheer her up or have her focus her mood towards them, which should not have been too hard. Even if it was negative attention, it would still be the attention that they loved. "Sixty bucks!" The brothers yelled at the same time as they held up a hand. With said hands up in the air they always waved at Lucy. Casper twirling his hands for a moment and making a flower appear while Jasper snapped his fingers and caused little sparks to fly up into the air. The bid was made and the attention grabbing tricks had been deployed, mission success so far.

First auction of the day and in center stage. Had they done that on purpose? Put the one that people were least likely to bid on up front and center? Okay, that was grossly unfair: Nico actually figured that a few people would likely offer up some money for the girl, if for no other reason than she looked nice. There also happened to be the whole dating package thing involved, which didn't sound like a horrible way to spend a night.
Nico was really only there because Lucy happened to be a "friend" of his. They'd hung out a few times, gotten in trouble, done all that kind of fun stuff. So he felt like he should at least put in an appearance, maybe even throw in a bid. He didn't have a whole lot of money, but it was just a charity auction for a school. Who was going to spend that much cash? It wasn't like people would be flinging thousands of dollars at this thing.
Actually, given this school, that would not have surprised Nico.
Instead, it was the twins, which Nico had also met before, who offered up the opening bid. Nico looked over at them and raised his brows before digging into his wallet and shuffling around some of the crumpled bills he had in there. After a few seconds, long enough for people to probably wonder if they really should bid, Nico offered up this: "Sixty... two?" he said, then looked around, eventually giving the twins a 'what can you do' shrug. It wasn't like he was loaded: he could probably jack it up another fifty cents. He was willing to bet the twins had a fiver between them, at the least.

Who would have thought such a stupid, juvenile little event would have caused so much excitement? Taylor cut his way through the crowd, pushing on toward the stage. He was later than he'd hoped to be, having had some business to tend to before being free to check out the other stages. With a shake of his head he peered up to Lucy and had to stifle a laugh. The blue eyed girl looked like hell, undoubtedly on purpose, and Taylor didn't even need to catch a glimpse of her gaze to know she was surely in as foul a mood as anyone could possibly be.
Taylor's brow furrowed as he caught the quick exchange between the Emorys and Nico. Dark brown eyes shifted, taking in each party in turn before Taylor frowned. What the hell was it with these people? Lucy obviously wasn't interested in going on any date. He thought before pausing a moment to contemplate the contradictory thoughts. He then shrugged to himself and plastered on that loopy, half grin he was known for. "A hundred." He called, lifting a hand to get the auctioneer's attention.

The brothers felt confident that no one was going to challenge them, so one could imagine their surprise when the bid was raised by two bucks. That was not too bad, since they could at least go a little higher than that. It was the only reason why they didn't feel like murdering the person that spoke up. Imagine the level of shock that also came when they actually looked to see who had dared to say anything when they were trying to win. It was that Nico kid they met a while ago; the guy that they had called Plank between the two of them.
Nico was about as dry, stiff, and as boring as a board in their opinion so no way would Lucy want to go on a date with someone like him. Right? They just gave him a very bored expression before Casper went to raise his hand to bump up the bid. However; someone beat him to it. The guy that the siblings thought they would not actually have to deal with. Yet there he was, looking stupid, and jump the bid well out of their range. Well if they put their money together instead of having agreed to split it for the two bids they wanted to do; then there would have been hope.
"Fuck off assface! You already practically go out with her as it is. Let her get a break from you for once!" Jasper yelled. Sure he didn't like Lucy all that much, but he knew his brother did and he was here to help his brother win the girl at least. It was not like they were rolling in the money so this had been something they saved and borrowed up for. "Agreed. You get to spend more than enough time with her, let someone else get a chance for once." Casper spoke up, not yelling but it was clear to see that he was upset. The siblings looked towards Nico then. "How much you got?" The brothers asked in unison, it should have been pretty obvious what one of their plans were.

Who was that guy who'd stepped up to bid? he looked like some kind of all-American guy or something, but Nico swore he picked up a bit of an accent or something. It didn't really strike him as familiar, and Nico didn't really care all that much about whether or not he won the auction. He'd mostly been doing it just to show some support for a friend. Well, that and to possibly mess with the twins a little. They just made it so easy.
Sure enough, they'd gotten riled up by the guy's bid too. Nico rolled his eyes slightly, not quite believing that everyone was going through this much effort for Lucy James of all people. Apparently she'd pulled some people into her orbit or whatever. Nico just looked up at the stage and raised his brows, wondering if she could really believe all this nonsense that had erupted around her either.
Then the twins turned to him, and Nico realized that he'd sort of hung out with them before. And they were bigger. And it was really obvious what they wanted. Nico held up the money. "Sixty two dollars," he repeated, his tone flat, the implication obvious: why do you think he bid exactly that in the first place?"

The jovial, almost goofy grin that was plastered on Taylor's face immediately melted away at the sound of the curse being sent his way. His eyes narrowed as a grim, almost calculating expression settled over his usually laid back features. He turned fully to face the source of the voice that had shouted at him. He'd heard of the twins and knew, for some reason, one of them insisted on hanging around Lucy. Taylor held no claim over the girl, after all, they weren't anything that could be labelled and he certainly wouldn't attempt to tell her how to live. Regardless, there was something about the twins that rubbed Taylor Brennan the wrong way.
"Oi, Jedward!" He bellowed as he started immediately for the trio of the twins and the other kid Taylor didn't give two shits about. "What're you doing?" He asked, quickly drawing closer. There was little in terms of pleasantries to be found in his demeanor, though he was managing to keep his temper in check for the moment. On instinct Taylor's mental power kicked in making the world around him seem as if it was moving in slow motion. "You've had your fun." He warned, glaring at Jasper. Or Casper. It wasn't as if he cared which one of the twins that was standing in front of him. His voice dropped even more, now drifting into a threatening tone as he eyed the twins. "Why don't you fuck off and go put your money on some slut that'll give you the time of day and I won't stick my foot so far up your arse you'll be tying my shoes with your tongue? Whaddaya say?"

The twins had a plan when they gathered all the money they had, split it in half, and already had a discussion about how they were going to handle the auctions of the day. They didn't really have many friends and most people they knew were smart enough to keep their distance. They wanted to win Lucy in order for Casper to be able to hang out with her someplace nice instead of his usual just brining her food. Then for Jasper the same thing applied but in this case he wanted to go with one of the stupid romantic date prizes because they would be something Franck would really like, right? Franck's was later on and in a different area so the first goal was to win Lucy.
A goal that was proving difficult now that other people were stepping in the bid. They didn't know why Plank was even here, but it was ideal for them to 'borrow' some money for him. The twins were pleased when he offered no resistance and simply held the money out for them to take. "You bet all your money? Silly, silly boy." Jasper said as he was happy to take the money and was working on doing the math of what sixty bucks plus sixty-two was. "One hundred and twenty-two." Casper spoke up, knowing what his brother was doing. "Alright, one hundred and twenty-two right back over here!" Jasper yelled as he rose up his hand.
As for the guy they didn't actually know the name of; since they only knew about him through rumors and the fact that he and Lucy had 'something'. They didn't even pay him any attention since he was calling out to someone in the crowd; perhaps to try and get more money from someone to. Another question, the brothers still not really paying attention and talking to themselves while also informing Nico they 'owed' him but left it vague at that part. Then the Lucy Stalker guy was now in front of them, so apparently he was talking to them, and was just so wrong with their names; not even close. Things started to feel slightly odd, but the twins didn't think anything of it as they looked at Taylor. They had their fun?
Ooo, was that a glare? Jasper was already starting to smirk as he could feel his heart beating a little faster, the chemicals just waiting to be dumped through his system. "Awww, is the Stalker Boy worried that he is now going to lose the bid?" Jasper asked, making a fake pout face in mockery of Taylor. Neither of the twins was bothered by his comment, at least not in the way of feeling intimidated or worried. They were the Emory’s, two of them, and even without their power they did a decent job of kicking ass when they felt like it. Casper didn't feel like fighting, that was why he was making a shooing motion in Taylor's direction. "Go away and rethink how you speak to us." Casper responded, not interested at all in fighting. Jasper was a little, but he could tell his brother was not so he did his best to settle down.

Taylor may have been listening as the twins babbled on and offered their meager insults but he didn't respond. He kept his eyes on the both of them and remained silent as they sorted through their money until offering another bid. Behind the stoic demeanor, however, Taylor's mind was racing. He took in every detail of the two boys. From the way they moved, to the subtle inflections in their voices, to the tiny nuances of their facial expressions. They weren't looking for a fight, though he sensed that could chance in the blink of an eye. Taylor, on the other hand, was thinking a fight might just be exactly what he needed right about now.
"Two hundred." Taylor said loud enough for the auctioneer to hear without looking away from either of the twins. He didn't give a damn at this point whether or not he won the bid, but he sure as hell was going to win whatever fight was about to go down, be it with fists or money. "I don't know what's going through your mind but I'll give you a mulligan since you're obviously not very bright." His voice was still calm in spite of the storm that was raging just beneath the surface. "One last chance to walk away before I take your head-" Taylor pointed at Casper. "-and shove it up your ass." He then pointed to Jasper.

Whelp, there went Nico's money. He really shouldn't be all that surprised, really. He'd only met the twins a few times, and he was already of the opinion that they really couldn't do a whole lot to surprise him. The twins had combined his money with their own and were now attempting to outbid the other guy.
It might have worked, if, like, they hadn't turned around and effectively spanked their asses at the guy. Nico rolled his eyes heavenward, wondering how exactly he'd gotten in the middle of whatever the hell this was. He was pretty sure he could blame Lucy for that, which was odd, as he was apparently the only one in the crowd who wasn't that attracted to her (their date likely would have resulted in their eating burgers and watching a dumb movie).
The good looking guy upped the bid. Then there was a shot at the twins again, which nearly had Nico chuckling. The comment did have him smirking slightly, along with raising his hand. "I'd pay to see that," he said. Should the twins look toward him, he'd just shrug and give them a "sorry, but can you blame me?" look.
Looking between the three boys, Lucy's lips turned into a tight line. She didn't at all like the outcome that could possibly come from this. She didn't mind Nico - he knew better than this, but the twins and Taylor seemed to be making this into some sort of pissing contest, and from experience, she already knew this wasn't going to turn out well.
Sadly, she'd rather not have the extra attention of some sort of stupid fight pulling everyone's eyes this way. She didn't even want to be up here for Christ's sake. Why did they have to make everything so god damn hard?
"You-" she pointed at the twins, "and you-" she pointed at Taylor, "are both banned from bidding. Get the fuck out of here," she hissed, head shaking. Now, if Lucy had actually had the money, she would have given it all to Nico just to get this thing sorted out. But no. She didn't. She supposed that's what happened when you spent most of your stipend on weed and alcohol.
"Stop acting like this is a pissing contest you idiots!"

The other guy jumped the bid again, this time to two hundred dollars. Well no there was no way that Casper was going to win this. "Ugh, fuck it. Bro, use my money." Jasper said, not wanting to see this end like that. Jasper still had sixty bucks to use for his auction on Franck but now he really wanted his brother to win so this jackass would not have his way. "No, we made a deal. Keep your money." Casper responded to his brother as he let out a sigh. There was not point anyways to use his brother's money when the other guy could probably still outbid them. He was a college kid or something so he probably had a job and thus money unlike them.
"What? But-" Jasper was about to argue with his brother but then jackass was talking again and trying to act like he was all big a bad. With the weak insults and the threat that Jasper highly doubted he could back up. Oh, Jasper was so ready to fight and he was about to say something but then heard Nico laughing. He looked back at the boy, an unimpressed look on his face as he simply held up to fingers. "Now you are not getting your money back." Jasper responded and now he was ready to lay into Taylor, right then and there. However; as soon as he stepped forward his brother was reaching out and placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't. He is not worth it." Casper pointed out which had his brother groaning. "Why the hell not? He is so asking for it and we need to put his fucking smug face into the dirt where it belongs!" Jasper yelled, fully ready to fight but his brother still did not seem really phased. Then Lucy was speaking up. Saying that they were banned. Did she even have that kind of power? "What? You can't do that? Why the fuck?" Jasper started to ask, now yelling at Lucy. They had not even don’t anything, even if Jasper so wanted to. Casper just turned to leave, heading out to get them something to eat while they would have to wait a little until Franck was up to bed.
"Casper! Casper! Ugh, fuck it!" Jasper yelled, trying to get his brother to do something but no his brother was just leaving so he too gave in and just followed his brother in a huff.

Taylor was ready for anything either of the twins could throw at him. Both facets of his mutant power were in high gear. He caught the twitching of Jasper's muscles as the twin took an aggressive stance and was well prepared to react before the sharp voice cut through the din. Taylor had immediately took a step back, his eyes snapping toward the shouting, blue eyed girl. Taylor was quick to lose his temper, but even quicker to realize when he'd stepped over the line. Lucy's sudden presence at the edge of the stage, pointing an accusatory finger at him was as good a signal as any that he'd done just that.
"Fine." He said defiantly, as his eyes turned back to the twins. He didn't dare keep his attention off them for longer than absolutely necessary. Taylor didn't trust them any more than they should trust him. "I'll go but this isn't over." He grumbled something to himself and reached a hand into his pocket. He dug around and produced a handful of crumpled bills. After sifting through them he shrugged in frustration and pushed them into Nico's chest on his way passed the other guy. Nico, for all intents and purposes, was an impartial bystander. So long as one of the Emory's didn't win, Taylor didn't care at this point. "Have fun." He mumbled and started off in the opposite direction as the twins.
Post by Nico Martell on Aug 19, 2015 20:21:29 GMT -6
Yeah, Nico had pretty well expected his money to vanish the moment the twins took it. So he could only shrug as they insisted that they were going to keep it, even after Lucy effectively banned them from the auction. It wasn't until he'd actually shrugged that Nico seemed to realize that fact: Lucy had just dismissed the two main bidders, who had also obviously been vying for her affections.
Did that mean that Nico won? He blinked, not sure how to handle that. The twins and whathisface were apparently going to have it out regardless of what actually happened here. So long as they left Nico out of it, that would be just fine with him.
And for a moment, Nico thought he wouldn't get so lucky. He also wasn't sure how he was supposed to bid when the twins had just stolen all his money. It also looked like he as about to get an asskicking from the Ken doll guy. A bunch of bills shoved into Nico's chest, and they were both lucky they didn't go through him. Nico blinked and then smoothed out the bills, waiting a few moments while he counted. Seemed to be about one hundred, so...
"Fifty?" he called, holding up one of the bills and looking around.
What? It wasn't like there was anyone to bid against him now. Everyone probably just wanted the awkwardness to be over.
Despite them being pissed, Lucy was glad both Taylor and the twins seemed to give up without much of a fuss. She didn't want this to turn into some kind of pissing contest. She didn't need, nor want the extra attention. She was so not in the mood for it. In fact, she was rather thankful that the boys seemingly seemed to respect her wishes and well, the rest of the people around - despite appearing somewhat disappointed there was no fight to be had - looked overall relieved they didn't have to clean up after such a mess.
Lucy's attention moved over to Nico and she issued a low, but relieved sigh. "He wins. Sold. Whatever." She pointed straight towards him, before turning to the auctioneer, as if daring them to say anything against the whole debacle. The guy didn't seem as if he wanted to get involved and simply nodded, as if to approve Nico as the winner.
Stepping towards the edge of the stage, Lucy jumped off of it and moved towards Nico. Once she reached him, she grabbed a hold of his arm. "I owe you bigtime," she whispered.
