François shouldn’t be so nervous, considering he already did that last year and knew exactly how it would go. At the very least, this time, there wouldn’t be any sexy music and Frank would not try to get rid of his shirt so she could oil his chest. Although that might still happened. He eyed her, incapable of fully trusting her. But could anyone blame him? She was able to burst in at any moment to either cancel a bid or bid higher or... with Frank, the possibilities were endless.
He told Elsa not to limit him to guys only. Sure, the ‘dates’ could come off as romantic but everyone knew he was gay. He didn’t know how many knew he also was dating someone but he believed Jasper might not mind if a girl won him, since, after all, he was the best placed to know nothing would happen. For he wasn’t sure if his boyfriend could afford him. He heard some of the sums offered for previous people, not only here at the center stage but also on the others. And he knew Jasper did not work or have any rich parent to get the money from. He knew he was not against stealing though and he didn't want to see that happening. He didn’t get the chance to tell him it didn’t mean anything if he didn’t win him. He could offer him all three dates if he wanted, or any other of his choosing afterwards. And they could expect sparks this time.
He waited until he was announced to walk onto the stage, the bright smile that could almost be considered his trademark on as he waved to the people who gathered around. He had no problem doing the introduction himself. “My name is François but I think most of you know me as Franck,” he began with a smile still on the whole time. He was not going to get rid of it. But his eyes kept scanning the crowd. Looking for two very distinctive heads. Of course, it might help if he knew they’d have white or brown hair. “Like they said, you made me the prom king, thank you for that. I’m really happy to be here for this good cause and I look forward to this date, whichever you choose. I know it will be great.” And, why not, another smile as he nodded in thanks. Would a girl go for the fancy restaurant? Yeah, he was seeing himself ending up with the fancy restaurant. Or the movie, if it was Jasper. In truth, he hoped he wouldn’t get the horse. Just because he never did any horseback riding. But he would still find it fun and love it. Now, they only had to wait for the bidding to start.
