Ideal Nap Location

The library, the perfect place to just have some time to study by yourself or with others if you didn't feel like carrying books back to your room or anything like that. Not that Devyn really ever used it for that sort of thing. Nope, she used it to take her naps and pretend like she was actually studying or something. The library was a less then awesome place for her considering what she had done in it a while ago, but none of the damage remained and she had already paid off her debt to the school for it. It was summer break at any rate and dev had passed her classes and didn't have to; nor did she plan to, take any summer classes.

The only reason she was here and not home was because she was still debating if she wanted to go home for the summer or spend it here again. She and Vera had a road trip that had its ups and downs but she felt like she and her girlfriend were closer for it. Perhaps they could go to Devyn's home for a little bit in the summer. Or just hang out here and let Vera take care of the work the school seemed to want to shove on her plate. Sometimes she wished they would give her a break, but Vera wanted to do that sort of thing and Devyn at least got to help when it involved the squad as well.

"Mind if I sleep under your table?" Devyn asked this boy that was sitting at a table by himself. Normally she would have just tried to find another spot, but this spot was one she was used to using. It was in the perfect location to avoid ever getting hit by direct sunlight and was off to itself so she didn't have to worry about being bothered by anyone. The latter was probably why the kid had picked it and while Dev didn't like to share everything, she figured she could share the space for a little bit. Or try to.

Cassidy loved the library. He spent quite a lot of time there, just relaxing and reading comics with some music. It was nice, quiet, and most of the emotions in the place were calm. As much as he loved socializing and talking to people, it was easy to get overwhelmed because of his power. He was just reaching for a new comic when he noticed someone approaching.

Cassidy quickly paused his music and pulled the headphones off his ears, letting them hang around his neck. He stared at her for a moment as he tried to process her question, his eyes slowly changing from a calm green to a confused silver. "I- What? Uh, I guess? Not sure why you'd want to but whatever," he said with a shrug. As long as she didn't bother him, he really didn't care what she did.

The boy was younger than her, or at least he looked like he was younger than her. That meant that she was not going to be doing any flirting, or at least not the serious kind. Perhaps to just be playful and see if she could get him to blush but that would be it. She liked her people older...that and she was in a relationship so she really should not have even been concerned about such a thing. Old habits die hard clearly. She was quick to notice the eye color change, since she always locked eyes with someone she was talking to.

It was another inner alpha thing and also it was just polite to give someone eye contact when you were talking to them. "Dude, your eyes just changed color." Devyn could not help but to point out as she leaned in a little closer for a better look. Her eyes changed color too, but that was mostly going from their current green to a darker shade of green to sometimes black. Nothing like from going from one color to a whole other color. That was pretty cool. He seemed confused by her question, which made her chuckle a little.

"Well, this is the table I also take my naps at when I don't feel like doing it in my room or outside." Devyn pointed out as she moved to hop up and sit on the table, still looking at the boy. "You can't tell me you only use the library for reading, do you?" Devyn asked as she raised a brow. Who could just use it for such a thing? At least listening to music or watching a movie had to be something others did in the library as well.

Cassidy met her alpha gaze at first, but it didn't take long before his gaze flitted away, darting around her aura in their usual fashion. He leaned back slightly when she leaned forwards to stare at his eyes. Despite the somewhat nervous maintenance of personal space, he smiled and let out a tiny embarrassed chuckle. "Yeah, that happens. It's a mutant... power... thing," he explained vaguely. He was pretty used to all sorts of questions about it, and knew it didn't always go so well, so he couldn't help a hint of caution.

Cassidy supposed he could understand wanting to sleep here; it was fairly peaceful and quiet in the library after all. He shrugged at her question. "I like reading. I mean, I usually listen to music here too, but I read most of the time." He reached over and grabbed the next comic, turning it to the first page. He looked up with a slight smirk, rolling his eyes. "I'm not one for napping much, but hey, if you wanna nap somewhere, why not the library?"

Devyn chuckled as the boy pointed out that the eye color changing thing had to do with his mutant power, as if that was not obvious. There would be no other explanation of why his eyes were able to change colors so drastically if he was not a mutant. "Obvs, kid. The question is what your power is. I will be horribly disappointed if your power literally is to just change your eye color." Devyn said as she made herself comfortable sitting on top of the table. Now, she did know that there were a few people out there with some pretty lame powers but she just hoped he was not one of them.

Dev really liked her fellow mutants and powers but she at least wanted them to have something cool or else it was not very fun to talk about or show off. She listened as he explained that he liked reading but did listen to music here as well. Alright, so at least he did something other than just read books. Then again, by what he was currently reading she was not even sure one could actually call it a book and more of a visual novel or simply call it a comic.

So he was not once of those people that read like actual library books, right? "What comic are you reading?" Devyn asked, moving further up on the table so she could lie down and made herself comfortable again. Yes, she was basically laying right on top of the table that he was reading at, but she figured so long as she was not laying on what he was reading it was not big deal. "Right? It's so silent here...make me want to make a lot of noise or sleep." Devyn said as she gestured around the area.
