Cassidy wandered the streets of Kalispell, no particular destination in mind. He planned to visit the book store at some point, but there was no rush. Besides, it was probably good for him to get out of the school for awhile, even if it meant having to wear stupid sunglasses. Sure, they were designer and actually kinda looked cool, but he hated the way it screwed up his power. He'd gotten so used to always being able to tell what people were feeling that he felt handicapped without it.
The distant sound of guitar music peeked Cassidy's interested, distracting him from his aimless wandering. A fond smile grew on his face at the feeling of déjà vu; he really should make a habit of randomly wandering Kalispell, the strangest things tended to happen. He'd have to be crazy to not go find the source of the music now.
When he finally found the musician, Cassidy's sense of déjà vu only increased. The girl with the guitar looked familiar, but in a really distant way, like he'd seen her in a photo or on TV or something. Maybe she was famous? She almost looked like- no, it couldn't be. In Kalispell of all places?
Of course, he wasn't one to talk. The boring reporters who covered business stuff finally stopped wondering where he was, so he understood the draw of Kalispell's anonymity. Well, if that really was who he thought it was, he wasn't going to be the one responsible for breaking her cover. He waited until there were relatively few people around before trying to quietly get her attention. "Psst! Hey! Are you Addison Sloane?"

After having set up her mobile keyboard stand in the middle of the town square with her guitar case open in front of it, Addison slung her guitar strap over her shoulder and switched on her electronic keyboard. She had recently fallen madly in love with a cover of a pretty catchy song and she wanted to test it out on the Kalispell crowd so she took a deep breath and positioned herself on her tiny stool and laid her fingers down on the white keys.
You lift my heart up When the rest of me is down You, you enchant me Even when you're not around.
If there are boundaries I will try to knock them down I'm latching on to you Now I know what I have found
Addison's voice, though having been exposed to classic training, remained raw and uninhibited. Slightly raspy but smooth in it's cadence. It fit the cover so well, the lilts and drawls, adding to the unique attributes of her voice, made even the cover her own.
It came to a point where she abandoned her keyboard to bring her guitar in. The tempo sped up from the cover and became more peppy and closer to the original song.
A few people dropped in some notes and pennies into her guitar case, some even stayed. One in particular looked eager to talk to her. Once she finished the song, they clapped and the boy approached her. His question had her grinning in amusement.

Cassidy spluttered for a moment, eyes turning silver behind his sunglasses. How was she so... casual about it? Like he was the weird one for trying not to turn attention to who she was. A famous artist was sitting here in Kalispell, performing on the street, and no one cared? He assumed it was because she was purposefully concealing her identity...
"'Cause you're like, super famous...?" he said with some hesitation. He looked around at all the residents walking by, oblivious. Did they not know? How did they not know? "...I think I overestimated the observational skills of the people here," he remarked with a sigh. "They might as well rename this town 'Under A Rock', because clearly that's where they've been living all their lives," he muttered, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
Suddenly remembering he was talking to someone, and a famous someone at that, his exasperation was quickly replaced by excitement. "So like, what are you doing here? I mean, not like in a bad way, but like, this seems like such a random place to be," he rambled, the number of "like"s per sentence increasing exponentially. Unless... no, there was no way. Could she be a mutant too?!

Seeing the kid start to splutter in disbelief, Addison chuckled, her cheeks flushing just slightly as she realised that this kid was actually a fan. And that was confirmed as he started fanboying.
"Aww," she pursed her lips to stop from smiling too widely. He was seriously stroking her ego then, something she was still struggling with, despite having experienced fame for a while now.
Chuckling, she shrugged at the boy's question. "It's not entirely random." She admitted. "I've actually come back to be honest. I went to school here." She nodded as her hand went to the back of her head as it was wont to do when she felt embarrassed.
"I take it you've listened to my album. How did you even get it?" She chuckled lightly. The only way he could have found her was if he had rummaged through a discount bin somewhere because she hadn't seen her albums up on the shelves of the music stores here.
