Let's Play

[Selina Taylor]

    Selina grinned as she ran through the school grounds and out to the nearby mountain that she loved to visit. She was in basic shorts and a t-shirt and so ready to get the hell out of dodge. It was early, early morning, before the sun had risen because otherwise running got way too hot now that summer had leeched into the air. Selina ran until her legs were shaky and her breath was gone before turning back to run down the rest of the mountain. It was still dark, and damn she could go for a swim in that cool lake right now.


    She totally didn’t have a bathing suit, but she didn’t care. Skinny dipping was a fave hobby of hers and damn the consequences. Not that anybody would be out this early anyway. Besides… she just didn’t care. She’d worked up a sweat, and now she was going to wash it all off. She stripped and placed her clothes on the shore to dry out, since they were soaking from her run and dived in. The water was still cold from the drop in temperatures at night, and she shivered slightly when she came back up for air.


    Selina grinned and turned to face the shore when she saw someone she recognized. Selina waved her arms to get the girl’s attention, uncaring of how the movements affected her exposed upper body when she did it, “Hey Maya Starr! What brings you out this way?”

Now that football season had ended and summer vacation had kicked in, Maya found herself with far too much time on her hands. After backpacking through Europe, sitting still, doing nothing was something that caused the girl to cringe. She was far too active to have nothing on her agenda, which in turn, meant that she spent a great chunk of her time wandering around, looking for something to do.

Today, she'd ended up at the lake. And no sooner after she'd arrived, she spotted someone waving their arm at her. Squinting her eyes, she leaned forward, trying to make the unclear face emerging from the water. It wasn't until the familiar voice echoed through the area that Maya recognized the girl she'd come to adore far too quickly.

With a beaming smile, Maya walked over to the edge of the water and knelt down. "Oi," she greeted back. "Not much. My naked girl senses were tingling." She offered the girl a wink, unsure whether or not she'd actually see it. Oh well. It mattered not. "And clearly I got a bonus finding you here."

    Selina came closer to shore as Maya was speaking so she didn’t have to battle so much with the dim predawn light to see the woman. She laughed as Maya talked of sensing her, “Now why couldn’t I have that power. Sensing naked women would be so much more useful than manipulating water,” she sighed with a melodramatic pout.


    Selina couldn’t keep a smile from her face for more than a couple seconds though, and she grinned as she bowed, “The Lady of the Lake at your service,” she teased before Selina took in the fact that Maya was fully clothed with a playful frown, “Though, no clothes and no shoes are a definite requirement before any services are rendered,” she added with as serious a nod as she could manage. Selina then ran a hand through the water, “And the water’s lovely,” she invited with a smirk.  


    Selina then laughed and winked at Maya, “So, how are you, my dear? The boredom of summer treating you well?” she asked as she knew Maya liked inactivity about as much as Selina did. It was the only real reason why Selina had elected to take summer school… that coupled with the fact that food and board were paid for if she stayed here for the summer.

"I know, right?" she laughed, head shaking in amusement. To be fair, Maya wouldn't really mind having that kind of power herself. Sure, she wasn't as hormonal and horny as many other kids her age, but she, like most people, enjoyed the naked form of a woman. Even straight girls did. Women were generally speaking much more physically appealing than what men were: said the homosexual girl.

Maya's eyebrow quirked slightly as the girl continued talking. "Oh yeah?" she asked, offering Selina a shit-eating grin before starting to work on the zipper of her hoodie. "Alright. I can abide by those rules." Besides, the weather was so nice and warm right now, a swim did sound rather nice. Especially as that meant actually being able to-- nope, she wasn't going there. "You've got me convinced, Taylor," she grinned as she tossed her hoodie aside.

Rolling her eyes, the black haired girl snaked out of her pants and tossed them where she'd tossed her hoodie. Pulling her hair back, she issued a low laugh. "Man, don't even get me started. Football season ended, and I swear I'm going to end up going insane." She stripped out of the rest of her clothes and started walking into the cool water. "I mean, what's there to do here anyways?" After backpacking for a year, Maya was used to always being on the move.

    Selina grinned and nodded, “Ahh, the tragedy that is living life without naked women…” she replied with a fake sigh. “Luckily I am a naked woman, and thus don’t have to suffer too much,” she added with a laugh. Selina wasn’t one to be modest or shy. She knew she looked good and she flaunted it with the sort of arrogance that could only be deliberate. Selina had spent too much time doubting herself after that teacher, and she refused to allow that man to have any more influence than he already had.


    Loving her own body after what that man did to it, was an act of almost pure defiance and she sometimes reveled in it... Other times- she wouldn't focus on that right now. Selina matched Maya’s grin and watched her undress quite unashamedly. “I suppose I can be quite persuasive when I want to be,” she offered with a smirk. “And what is it that you desire from me, dear peasant?” she added with a suggestive hint in her teasing tone, still playing off the Lady of the Lake bit.


    Selina shrugged and with an all too an innocent tone offered, “Your friends?” in response to Maya’s question regarding things to do in Kalispell. Selina grinned as Maya made her way into the water. There were so many reasons she liked this girl, and the fact that Maya was just as bold as Selina was definitely one of them.

Snorting, Maya nodded in agreement. "Yeah, all we have to do is dress down and look into the mirror and we're all set," she grinned at the other girl. Though, in all fairness, that wasn't quite the same thing. Not that she'd complain, of course. As most other women, Maya did spent a great deal of time admiring her naked body in the mirror. Thankfully, she wasn't one of those people who found flaws here and there.

"Peasant?" she asked, head shaking. "Careful there, Sel. You're starting to spiral down the ego path. Nothing attractive with that," she winked.

Enjoying the feeling of the cool water against her skin, Maya continued onward until the water reached her chest - which wasn't very far, considering how she wasn't taller than 5'1", but still. She turned her head in the direction of the girl as she spoke, eyes rolling. "You wish," she retorted, poking her tongue out. She even moved her hand to splash some of the water towards the other girl.

    Selina nodded her agreement, “We are so lucky like that.” She was only partially joking. Selina quite enjoyed her own body in many ways. She knew she was blessed in many ways, though the cycle that caused her to double over in pain once a month was something she could definitely do without. She’d have to see about possibly getting her uterus removed… then she’d be perfect.


    Selina grinned, “What a strike against my normal humble and demure behavior. You’re right, I really must be more careful,” she added with a laugh. “Wouldn’t want to suddenly stop being the prettiest girl in school…” Selina feigned a gasp of horror as she suddenly 'noticed' she wasn’t alone, “I mean, not that you’re not lovely too,” she added with as straight a face as she could manage before breaking out into giggles.


    Selina smirked, “Oh, you know I do,” she retorted right back before splashing Maya in turn. Selina could have easily used her powers here, but she stayed away from that as much as she could. For some reason, she could never quite think of her abilities as something light hearted or fun. It could be that she’d first used them to kill, but right now, the brewing water fight was more important.

Snickering, Maya swatted her hand at the other girl, her head shaking in obvious amusement. "Of course," she grinned. "Don't worry, Lina," she teased. "No one has been able to challenge your beauty thus far, so I don't really see any need for you to worry." Now, Maya wouldn't say that Selina was the prettiest girl around the school, but she was beautiful. Even Maya couldn't deny that. Not that she ever planned on, of course.

Even she could appreciate the pretty things in front of her.

Issuing a thrilling laugh, Maya stepped away from the splash - or rather, tried to. It still hit her, but not really as bad as it could have, had she stayed where she'd been. Her smile never faltered, and her hazel eyes never once left the other girl. "At least you're being honest about it," she mused, her head shaking.

Well, she could hardly blame the girl. Although Maya wasn't a supermodel, she knew for a fact that she wasn't ugly. Though, most of that came from the obvious charm that radiated from her.

    Selina paused, “Wait a sec. Am I Sel, Lina, or something else?” she asked with an impish glint in her eyes. “And of course they haven’t challenged me, I was just playing,” she added with a wicked smirk.

    Selina was perfectly serious in some ways. She never compared her body to others except for when she was joking, so no one could ever challenge her love of her own body. She simultaneously appreciated other people’s beauty without ever feeling a sense of jealousy or envy because of it.


    Selina laughed, “When am I ever dishonest?” she asked, halfway serious. Selina rarely lied to others. She occasionally exaggerated or minimized truths for the sake of drama or convenience, but outright lying wasn’t her thing. Sometimes she lied to herself, but that usually wasn’t intentional.


    Selina briefly dipped her head under the water again to get her hair out of her face before looking back at Maya, “Oh, and by the way, May isn’t much of a nickname… so maybe Giggles? Or Cutie Patootie?” she teased.

"You're whoever I choose," she said, a broad grin appearing on her lips. "Besides, Lina is much better than Lin-Lin or Selelelelel." She furrowed her brows at that, clicking her tongue against the back of her teeth as she fell into deep thought. Though, it was more so her getting distracted by the tickling sensation the last nickname had given her tongue. It was amusing.

Snapping her fingers at the other girl, Maya chuckled. "True, though, I wouldn't put it past you, little She-Devil." She tossed a wink in the other girl's direction then. Oh no, she would never, ever think of Selina as innocent. Sure, she wasn't bad, but she wasn't entirely good either. Just how Maya preferred her.

Leaning slightly back so that she could float in the cool water, Maya closed her eyes and took in a deep breath of the fresh air. "Hmmm," she said thoughtfully. "I like Smiles - since I smile so much. I don't really giggle, so that doesn't fit as much," she said, lifting her head and tossing the other girl a serious expression that didn't quite reach her eyes.

    Selina laughed at that, “Well, I suppose I can live with that,” she teased as she shook her head at the name she didn’t even want to try to replicate. “Just know, that that goes both ways,” she promised with a wicked grin.


    Selina gave Maya her most innocent pout, “A devil? You wound me,” she added melodramatically as she clutched at her chest to stop the pretend bleeding. “I much prefer the title Demoness,” she said with a smirk. “There’s something more… dramatic about it,” she explained. “Just regular old devils get boring after a while.”


    “Well, since you put it that way and I didn’t hear any objection to cutie patootie… I think I’ll go with Giggles,” Selina decided as she flicked a bit of water onto the floating Maya with a laugh. “Besides, Smiles isn’t anywhere near as fun to say,” she offered in a tone that made it sound like the most practical thing in the world.

"Wouldn't expect anything less from you," she replied with a shrug. After all, she deserved it. Maya had a knack for talking her way into any sort of trouble - even something as small as getting some kind of god awful nickname flung at her. Thankfully, she didn't think Selina would come up with anything too bad...

"Please," she snorted, eyes rolling. "I couldn't wound you even if I tried," she added. "Besides, you should know already that I'll call you whatever I want, and if you decided to do anything about it, I'm sure I'll find a way to make it kinky," she winked at the other girl as she splashed some of the water in her direction. Allowing her body to sink into the cool water for a moment, Maya enjoyed the feel of it surrounding her face and soaking her hair before returning to the surface.

"Hey!" she exclaimed as she rose to her feet again. She couldn't keep the grin off of her face though. It was nearly impossible around the other girl - not that Maya was a particularly angry person to begin with. She usually always smiled. "Alright," she said finally. "Since you're so cute, I'll allow it."

    Selina smirked, “Kinky, I can definitely work with… But you know that,” she added with a laugh. She didn’t particularly care one way or the other about whatever name Maya wished to call her, as she wasn’t very particular. So long as Maya understood that she may not immediately respond to certain names, merely because she wouldn’t be sure whether or not she was the one being addressed, she was good.


    Selina grinned, “I’ll eventually think of something better, but for right now, Giggles works,” she declared. Selina was half as likely to use Maya’s actual name from sheer habit and bad memory, but Maya didn’t have to know that yet. Selina leaned back into the water and let her feet float to the top. Life was good right now. She had work, she had people she could refer to as friends, and she was slowly starting to feel like maybe Montana wasn’t quite as foreign as when she’d first arrived.


    Selina was still hesitant and inexperienced regarding relationships that went anything further than the surface, but she also knew that that was something that came with time. Selina felt so relaxed and at ease around Maya, that she was considering offering the girl something more than just her typical superficial mask, but that would happen on its own time. For now, just hanging out in the water was her focus.

    “You know, we should take advantage of your boring summer. When football season starts up again, we won’t be able to see each other near as often,” Selina said as she glanced back at Maya.
