Elsa heard the phone buzzing and tiredly turned. She had to set the thing up loud, despite waking her up from time to time, as she couldn't afford to have some people not able to communicate with her. It was simply a matter of letting people know that contacting her at the wrong time would not go well for them.
The message showed a familiar contact, and Elsa felt herself waking up considerably more, sitting up and pulling her phone close:
it's perfectly alright. I did want to know, after all
things have been progressing quite well. It seems as though we're between kidnappings and fires and other major events at the moment.
how are things on your end? was your trip what you'd hoped?
And, more importantly, did Elsa have to pick up the phone and actually call her...?

Avoid her? Elsa frowned:
I wasn't that upset after our last encounter
And she'd...
who'd you leave to watch over me? no one contacted me?
Now Elsa had to be wondering: had someone been following her and she hadn't noticed it? That struck her as being unlikely, given her ability. True, she'd been more focused on being a "normal" college student the last couple of days.
Fine, temporary...
well, is there anything in particular I should know? I do feel as though you owe me at least something, given the hour of your message and all.

Roxana was quickly recalling why she didn't like texting people. It was effective for a quick message but when you were trying to hold a conversation it was a bit difficult. Words seemed to not fully translate well through text and it was also hard to get across an emotion. Not that the emotion bit was a problem since Rox didn't really show much.
I meant in general. I recall you stating that we needed to talk about things that I should just know to tell you and I figured telling you about my arrival was one of them.
No need to concern yourself over it. I just needed someone to do my job while I was away and he would not have been doing a very good job it he contacted you.
Yes, Rox had got someone from SIGUARD to help her out. A favor for a favor that she had already returned in exchange for them looking out for Elsa. She actually had a few people that she owed favors to now because she left one person each to look after her targets. A few were a bit hard to get 'into' the school but it worked out in the end. Elsa should have been able to easily figure out that Rox would have gotten someone who would have been able to not be picked up by either of Elsa's abilities.
I suppose you would like to also know that my plus one is my older brother. Hopefully you don't meet him, but no promises.
Apologies again for the late hour of me contacting you, just figured you should know I was back.

In general, yes, they likely had something in general to talk about. It seemed as though Elsa and Roxana always had something in general. The Bellefonte ran her hand over her face, wondering when the day would come when they could at least pretend to be normal college students would come, and hoping that the time was soon. She let that first message pass through, and heard something about someone who had been "doing Roxana's job while she was away. That required a response:
Next time, I'd appreciate at least a name
A bit terse, but Elsa was feeling in that mood. Something suspicious was up here. There were no direct flights to Kalispell after all, so why get in this late? That was either born of extreme reason or a tactical choice, and either option made Elsa's mind race. It was still racing as she read through the next few.
A brother you say? I hadn't realized you had any siblings. Are you worried about my innocence? I assure you it's long gone
Which should unsettle Roxana slightly. Elsa rubbed at her eyes before adding:
Yes, I do so love receiving text messages from someone at an extremely late hour. Should I go ahead and call you, or are you beyond the point of forming coherent speech?
Because again: Elsa couldn't help but be suspicious of the whole event.

Could not have provided it to you. Was part of the deal.
The person Rox had look after Elsa didn't really want to do it and only did it with several conditions in place. One of those being that Elsa would not know of them looking after her and another being that Rox take on a few of his jobs that he didn't really feel like doing. Those jobs had already been taken care of it and it was clear that the guy held up his end of the bargain with looking our for Elsa.
I could have sworn I told you before that I am the third born in my family and I'm not worried. Vlad is...well I don't think he would be your type.
Rox didn't really think much else about Elsa's innocence. If the girl meant it as she was not a virgin, well Roxana already knew that. Or if Elsa meant it as not being a fully good person, well Rox also knew that by the things that Elsa had been willing to do.
No, it id fine. I will let you get back to your rest. I still have a few things to take care of and my brother desires a few things as well.

Could not have? Elsa glared at the phone for that. Oh, it definitely wasn't something that she wanted to send via a text. Next time she saw Roxana, she was definitely going to remember to talk about sending people to watch her without checking to make sure that she knew said people. Already Elsa had several choice words that she was swallowing.
Had Roxana mentioned siblings before?
You might have: you'll have to forgive me. I did just wake up
There, that should sooth some of it, though not quite Elsa's own doubts. She really did feel like that was something she should have remembered. Roxana was already signing off: little surprise there.
Try to do the same
Elsa looked at the message for a while before leaning back. Why was it that everything kept having to be complicated...?

Right, of course. I really should let you get back to your rest.
I shall try.
Until next time, Elsa. We will likely be talking to one another soon so you can ask me questions then.
There, that was fair in a way. Late night call and leaving the chance to ask questions later if Elsa so desired to. Of course that did not mean that Roxana would be able to answer all of the questions, but it really depended on what Elsa wanted to know. She already had a feeling of possible questions the other girl was going to ask. For now however she needed to get settled in and take care of a few things before she could settle down and get some rest herself.
