[Roxana Strix]

Timothy Ife Tawfeek, likes to go by Tim, age seventeen, dating Luxanna, and has Bat Mimicry and Communication as his power. Roxana's mind went through this information and more as she sat at a table in the coffee shop, Cool Beans. She was not actually in the mood for coffee or well anything but Tim had wanted to meet her and this seemed like the best location. She didn't like people being in her room for what she had hidden there and she didn't know how Tim felt about people being in his room.

Perhaps I should have suggested a place on campus, so he would not have difficulty traveling this far. Roxana thought to herself as she looked down at her phone. It was already the day of the planned meeting so it was kind of too late now to change location. Well, it was never too late but she figured by the time he told her he would be there; he was already on his way. She tucked that thought away to be saved for later. She didn't actually know that much about Tim, just the basics like she pretty much knew about everyone.

Tim was not a target and she had not run into him in the past so there was never a need to obtain more information on him. Roxana didn't even know how this little meeting was going to go. She predicted short based on how Tim had been communicating to her via her cell phone. She didn't really understand why he wanted to meet her. She figured she made it clear that her relationship with Lux was nothing simple. Just...occasional friends or perhaps friends that just met here and there when Lux wanted to and Roxana had the time. Still, Tim wanted to meet her so she was going to oblige.

Roxana Strix, eighteen, always seen around Elsa Bellefonte and looks like a recruitment poster for the Hitler Youth. She'd never really been someone that Tim had figured he'd actually end up spending time talking to, let alone going out for a coffee, but that had changed when he'd seen her with Lux at that stupid Truth or Dare thing. He wasn't quite at Jack-levels of paranoia and protectiveness: Tim did want Lux to do her own thing and grow if she wanted, but that didn't mean he didn't want to doublecheck a few things. One of those was this strange woman who'd seemingly shown up out of no where, someone who knew Lux enough to actually hang out with her. Of course, Tim would ask Lux too, but he didn't think his girlfriend would mind his hanging out with one of her "friends."

Or whatever Roxana was.

Tim did take a bit getting to the location. Getting transportation proved slightly more difficult with his condition, but the buses were thankfully disability friendly. Easy enough to hitch a ride, and people were willing enough to help him, especially when he joked around. His show was becoming more of a local success too, since he had a tendency to chronicle local events and all.

In fact, getting into Cool Beans proved the most difficult, requiring some jiggering and the help of a fairly friendly hippie woman who was probably one of the owner's friends. Tim thanked her on the way in, before rolling on into the shop. He paused only to take off his coat and adjust the red carnation he had pinned, then rolled up to the counter.

"I'll have a number four, extra caramel!" he yelled, waving. A few bills appeared, money was exchanged. "Oh, and have you seen a tallish, kinda creepy looking blonde woman who's---ah, yeah, that's her." Tim smiled and raised a hand, giving it a few waves in Roxana's direction.

It was easy enough to spot Tim considered he was in a wheel chair and wheeled himself in. Not only that, he pretty much made his presence known by yelling and waving money around. She had not seen him as the type to like to draw attention to himself but then again he blogged and showed himself on camera so it should had been obvious he sought attention. Not that Roxana had anything against it, it was just odd. Granted Frank was one of her targets and that girl was a ball of ‘look at me’ every second so it was nothing really new to see. She was just happy that this was not supposed to be some secrete meeting or what have you.

She had been paying attention to Tim the whole time once he entered so heard how he referred to her as he asked where she was. Was she creepy? Perhaps on some level by how she didn’t really smile or say much. As for tall, she didn’t see herself as all that tall but in her family everyone was tall so she supposed she could say that at BA she ran into far more shorter people then she was used to. Roxana raised her hand and gave a half wave back to Tim to show that she did see him and that yes, it was her. She didn’t order a drink or anything to eat, so was just sitting at the table with one of her sketch book but nothing was on the page.

Rox had not seen anything worth of being drawn so she had not started to sketch anything or anyone yet. She merely had it out so it didn’t look like she was doing absolutely nothing there. She was thinking, but other than that she was not actually doing anything. She would wait until Tim came over before she would say anything. “Apologies for picking such a location for our first actual meeting. It didn’t dawn on me until later that getting here might have proved difficult for you.” Roxana apologized, being sincere about it.

Tim nodded as Roxana caught sight of him. Not like he was subtle or hard to pick up or anything like that. He nodded and got his coffee, using one hand to balance it while he wheeled himself back over to where Roxana sat. He raised another hand in greeting and worked himself into position along it, keeping to his wheelchair and just setting his coffee drink onto the table, after taking a sip of it, of course.

"Hey, no problem. I'm the one who suggested coffee, remember?" he reminded her, nodding. "Plus, this place has some good stuff. I know a few people who work here." Tim pursed his lips and then took another drink. He looked over at the sketch book, pointing. "You taking notes on the people here? Looking for other spies or something? Should I be worried?"

Tim raised his brows, smiling as he did, hoping that Roxana could at least pick up on the fact that he was joking, even if she didn't find the joke funny (not that he'd blame her for that).

Roxana also made a note that she probably should have stood up and at least have wheeled him over or offered to carry his coffee over to the table. Part of her felt a little selfish for not doing such a thing in the first place but her thoughts had been elsewhere. Distractions from what was currently going on but it was a bit too late to go back in time and try to redo the few blunders she had already made. Not that he had asked for the help and she didn't want him to feel like he was helpless or anything like that.

Time did not say anything to her about it so she figured it was fine and just sat in silence as he managed it all on his own. "Well it is good that it all worked out for the best." Roxana said in her simple tone. She gave him a glance when he asked about her sketch book, already closing it and putting it away in the pocket of her pants. "If I was taking notes on people I sure hope I would do it in a much more subtle way. That was just my sketch book." Roxana answered the question. It then dawned on her that he was probably joking due to the latter but of his statement and by the kind of smile he was giving her.

She didn't find it to be a good joke. Then again she didn't really get a lot of jokes. "Jokes aside, was there anything specific you wanted to talk about?" Roxana asked. She didn't really know what Tim expected her to talk about and she didn't really have much to say. So if he gave her an idea of what it was he wanted to know, that would help out with the whole conversing things. She understood he wanted to know more about her because he saw her hanging out with his girlfriend. There was just not much to tell, even what little she could tell about herself.

Man, the girl even looked stiff when just hanging out in a coffee shop. Tim raised his brows as she spoke so formally, so stiffly, like this was some kind of official meeting or his name had more weight than it did. He simply nodded slowly, going along with it.

"So you're not being spy enough, eh? I'll have to make note of that. Never pegged you for the artistic type though,' Tim paused for a moment, looking to the sketch book. With a normal person, this was the moment when he suggested looking through at the pictures, wanting to see if any of them looked good or if she had any talent or anything. Roxana wasn't exactly normal though.

Heck, she was already moving right to the meat of things. Tim chuckled and took a sip of his coffee. "Chill out already. I hope you didn't drink any coffee, because you already look like you're about to get up and jog laps around the shop," he took another sip and set his cup down. "It's like I said over the phone: I just wanted to get to know you a bit more. You're still giving off that whole creepy Aryan shark woman vibe thing, but you're also, like, someone Lux doesn't mind petting her," Tim gave Roxana a half smile and a quirked brow, "so you can imagine that I'm kind of curious as to who you actually are. Or I could just keep reading the fanfiction,' Tim's smile went deeper. "Apparently people really like claiming your some kind of android sent from the future to protect Bellefontes or something," Tim took another sip of his drink. Sometimes it was fun to read Frank's fanfiction...

Roxana didn't feel like she was stiff, she felt pretty relaxed actually but yes she was always on her guard. How she was sitting was just how she was used to sitting if she was not trying to play a role or something. She sat how she had been raised and trained to sit; tall, straight, and showing respect to the one you were interacting with. Roxana almost spoke of how he probably didn't picture her as the artistic type, because she was not supposed to be. He didn't need to know about that however so she said nothing on that matter. "I love art. Sketching, drawing, making sculpture, painting, and so on." Roxana said. She could have kept listening other aspects of art she liked but he figured he got the point.

She would have been fine showing him some of the things she had in her sketch book, but not everything. She never showed anyone everything that was drawn or written between the pages of her various sketch books that she carried around on her person. She got right to the point because she didn't want Tim wasting him time. Yet, he seemed fine with just taking his time and making this a little leisure chat and hanging out. They were not even friends and yet he wanted to do this, which caused some level of confusion for Rox. "I have had nothing to drink and I am chill." Rox said in a simple tone. She sat back in her chair to help convey that she was in fact very much chill.

Rox could not help but give a confused look for a moment at Tim's words. She figured she should have been a little offended but who was she to be upset from someone’s opinion. Opinions didn't matter when it was not actually having an effect on her. Time started bringing up how he just wanted to get to know her and pointed out that whole petting thing. Rox loved Lux's hair, but in general she just loved anyone hair that allowed her to touch it. If Lux didn't want her to touch, then she would stop but apparently Tim and Jack seemed to think it was weird to play with someone’s hair or at least Lux's hair in particular. She was uncertain. "Luxanna and I don't spend a lot of time together, it’s an occasional thing." Roxana said after a moment.

"What do you want to know?" Roxana asked. Not like she thought she would be able to answer all of his question, but depending on what it was she could try. She was not aware of this little fanfiction; it didn't seem relevant so she didn't comment on it. If people wanted to think she was a robot, then that was fine. She knew she was a human, if even in the loosest of terms that she was physically human. If she was a robot, she would be perfect. She would not be here, doing the job that she was here for.

Huh, so she loved art. Then again, so did Hitler, so that wasn't buying her too many points. Tim did figure that he really should stop comparing her to Hitler though: that felt like an absolutely horrible thing to do to someone who he really didn't know fully. He should at least wait till she started talking about shifting him off to a camp somewhere first.

This was her being chill? She did seem to be trying, but Tim still couldn't quite shake the whole "alien attempting to be human thing." Though part of him was still wondering if that wasn't residue, much like the whole Hitler comparisons and all. Roxana did seem to be trying, so Tim could try back.

"Well, the whole art thing is pretty nice," Tim offered at Roxana's question, gesturing. "Anything else you doing with that? Wait a tic," He looked at her, "did Zoe end up contacting you about the whole photo thing?" he grinned. "I've totally been helping her sponsor that. I got to see a few pics. That was so you, wasn't it?" He grinned. Hey, if she was willing to help someone like Zoe out, she couldn't be that bad.

"Anything else you do? And at this point, I'm almost gonna be disappointed if you aren't gonna admit to, like, training to kill people or something."

Roxana was no mind reader, so she did not know what was going on through Tim's head. Her only guess could be that she probably seemed robotic, strict, or something along the lines of not being a normal teenager. Yes, she was nineteen years old and while she was an adult she still fell into the area of being a teenager since she was not yet twenty years old. Her guess was based off of how he was speaking to her and just in general what the masses in her relative or younger age group seemed to think of her. With her family she would have been viewed as normal and at work because of the whole art aspect she would have been viewed as a child.

Everyone was always viewing her differently, but everyone viewed others differently. Even Roxana was viewing Tim differently than possibly others that he hung out with. She saw him as a risk to mutants do to his little show and how he seemed pleased with the whole idea and notion of helping out fellow mutants. She was half surprised her organization had not asked her to do anything about it but from the text she got from him, she figured out why. Tim spoke up about how he thought the whole thing was nice and asked if there was anything else she did with that. Tim was still talking however, now bringing up something about photos.

Ah, he is talking about the Wallerstein-Smythe photo exhibition. Roxana thought to herself as it dawned on her what Tim was talking about. "I did help her out, yes and I'm aware of what you have done for her. So on that aspect, I thank you for helping her...well providing the some of the means for her event." Roxana said. There was probably a better way to say that but she was slightly distracted. She did appreciate Tim for helping out Zoe with her art work in what ways he did, but she already figured he was a 'nice guy' because he was dating Luxanna. Tim asked what else she did and brought up the whole training to kill people but, as if she would tell him anything on that.

"I go to my college classes, majoring in art. I'm an intern on the school security but other than that I don't do much outside of work on my art. I apologize that I'm not all that entertaining or as action packed as you had hoped." Roxana said, keeping her tone the same casual and no real emotion in her voice like she always spoke. "What about you. What do you do?" Roxana asked, turning the question back on him. She already knew a bit about what he did, but there was always room for not knowing everything he did. He was not a target so it had not been in her desire or benefit to learn everything about him/

Tim nodded as Roxana explained her part in the whole photoshow thing. That she confirmed it also added a bit more information that Tim stored away for later use. Who knows: maybe she had a thing for helping the shy, fragile ones. It was actually sort of surprising that Zoe and Lux hadn't met up and spent hours apologizing and then taking artsy photos of Furbies yet.

Roxana continued, though she sounded a bit distracted as she did. College, majoring in art, which struck him as really odd for someone who was apparently a security intern and actual paid bodyguard. He had to chuckle dryly at her comment about being entertaining. "you're leaving off the parts where you've been at the front lines for literally every violent event that's happened at this school over the past year or so," he raised a hand, ticking off fingers, "as you were one of the major defenders when SPECTRE attacked, then you helped put out the library fire, and you've been stuck to Elsa Bellefonte's side for most of it."

Tim paused and reached for his coffee, taking a sip, letting that sink in. "I'm, like, a duke of nerds around here," he explained, gesturing, "and mutants make the best nerds. We know, like, everything." Another sip, still watching her, trying to figure her out.

Roxana did actually enjoy what she was going to college for. Sure she didn't actually have any need for it in the future but it allowed her to do something that she enjoyed while still doing what her real purpose was. She didn't actually want to be a security intern; Elsa had apparently put her in that position, which did work out. It allowed her to get more clearance to certain things and didn't have to provide different excuses all the time when she needed to go off and handle other important matters. The whole bodyguard thing again was more of Elsa's idea and it did also make things a bit easier for Rox so she was not going to complain or step down from either position.

Tim pointed out that she was leaving out the things she had done in the past and how she was always by Elsa's side. "I didn't see that as relevant to your question on what I do, when those are things I have done. Semantics, I know." Roxana responded. Still, she didn't see what she did as a big deal; they were kind of mistakes in a way that lead her to get into trouble. It helped out the school at the time but it didn't really help out Roxana. Perhaps she was not as selfish as she needed to be in order to make sure she was doing the job SIGUARD had given her. "I'm just doing the job the school expects of me with being a security intern." Roxana added, still in her usual tone of voice.

She didn't get why Tim had asked if he already knew, perhaps it was the usual tactic of just making conversation. Or that he wanted to hear her admit what all she had done for the school and got simple thanks for it. Not that she expected any kind of reward for her job, a simple word of praise was enough for her at times. Tim confessed that he was the duke of nerds and how he knew like everything. Roxana doubted that. He probably knew a lot because of what he did but she didn't think he knew everything. If he did, well then she would have a problem with him.

"It is good to hear that you call yourself a nerd and don't see it as a bad connotation as people have in the past." Roxana said, she didn't really know what else to say. Conversations were not really her strong point unless there was something set that she could talk about. With Tim, she didn't really want to share too much about herself and she still didn't see the point in him wanting to know. She was not going to take Lux away from him or anything like that.

Semantics? Tim almost wanted to laugh at that. Who was playing semantics now? She was definitely still guarding Elsa, which made things more interesting, as Elsa had so recently stepped down from being the High Bitch of the school. Tim didn't see any reason to keep prodding, since Roxana apparently wanted to be close-lipped about it and he didn't really want to offend her or anything.

The followup comment has him arching his brows. "See, it's stuff like that that makes people think you're a robot or something. Who talks like that?" he gestured at her, then shook his head. "You can loosen up, you know. Not like I could take you in a fight," he tapped the chair and then reached to take another drink of his coffee, savoring the taste for a few seconds, and giving Roxana bit of a break, before turning back to her.

"I'm just saying that you've done a lot, and you're kind of getting noticed for being a badass. So you can see why I'm wondering why said badass is also petting my girlfriend," Tim paused again, tapping the edge of his cup. "Also Jack hates you for that, but you probably already know that. Can't see him having been quiet about it. Or anything, really."

Roxana looked at Tim as he pointed out why people seemed to think Roxana was a robot, and it came back to how she spoke. She didn't think there was anything wrong with how she spoke, she was just being practical. Did he want her to use slang? Drop letters off the end of words? Say things in her native accent or in some other accent? What did he expect; or more accurate, want from her in order to think that she was relaxed. "How would you like me to talk?" Roxana went ahead and asked. She didn't see the point in testing different things out when she could just get the specifics of what he wanted.

She probably could guess but she was not in the mood for a guessing game since he seemed to think that she was not at all relaxed. She was pretty relaxed, just not completely. It didn't matter who she was around, she was never going to fully let her guard down. She was well aware that Tim could not take her in a fight, but she didn't see what that had to deal with anything. She glanced away for a moment before just going ahead to slouch in her chair, legs spread apart in a relaxed manner, as she rested one of her arms on the back of the chair.

"Is this position better or are you wanting me to toss my feet up onto the table? Not sure why my sitting manner or speech is making you think I'm not relaxed." Roxana asked and then pointed out. Rox didn't understand, she was trying to but she was not used to this whole just chilling and talking without a real purpose. She supposed the purpose was for Tim to get an understanding of her because she was 'close' to Lux. She didn't say anything as he spoke of her apparently being a badass in what she did and he was just trying to figure out why Rox was petting Lux.

"Are badass not allowed to enjoy art or like to play with people's hair. I like textures and hair is most pleasant feeling in my hands. Lux allows me to 'pet' her, as you put it, and that is the only reason why. I enjoy it and she lets me." Roxana explained. Who knew playing with someone’s hair would cause so much wonder or confusion. "He texted me and we are supposed to meet at some point." Roxana said, she gave a small shrug near the end of her words. She was not really worried about it, she could care less if someone liked or hated her. It was not her job to care.

"okay, okay, you made your point," Tim said, holding his hands up and away slightly in the traditional I surrender gesture. "But, like, seriously, you talk kind of stiff and a bit guarded or something. But maybe that's how you are. Hellifino," he shrugged, then had to reach up to adjust his glasses. Maybe Roxana was from another country? That would explain quite a lot of it. Tim didn't detect that much of an accent but, well, he wasn't some sort of expert in accent detection or anything like that.

And yes, she had a point. "Sure, but like I said: it's more about who you're petting, not that you're doing it," though Tim still wanted to point out that it was an odd habit to have, especially when put into the context of 'texture.' As for the other bit: "yeah, if I were you, I'd be on the lookout for baseball bats."

Tim took another sip, then set his drink down, tapping it a few times with his fingers. "Look, I know I'm probably not helping, since I'm, like, set to suspect that you're some kind of secret agent or something," Tim said, nodding again. "But I'm really just trying to figure out who you are and all. Like I said: it's the whole boyfriend thing," he looked back at Roxana. "You were petting my bae: makes me wonder who you are to her and why she's cool with it," he nodded. "That's all I'm trying to figure out, honest."

Tim gave in, which Roxana was actually thankful for. She really didn't understand why how she was talking was that big of a deal. She offered to change how she was speaking and assured him that she was as relaxed as she was going to get. She really was. She could never completely relax around anyone and unless she was acting then there was no point in well acting outside of who she really was. Rox used to act when she first came to the school but after the first attack with SPECTRE and then with the fire on top of things, she just didn't see the point anymore.

Yes, she was still hiding details and not showing all of herself, but she was no longer bothering with the whole just a simple student act. She was not a college student with the skills to protect and defend the school, even if it was more so to be defend certain people. She did have an accent, but it was pretty much gone when she was over here. She didn't want people to ask about where she was from in general so it was something that she did cover up. Yet, if someone found out about where she was from, it would not be that big of a deal. "I can stop playing with her hair in your presence if it bothers you." Roxana said.

If he didn't want her to do it, then she could easily make sure to not do it when he was around. Rox could not help but to let out something similar to a short chuckle or scoff at Tim's warning about being on the lookout for baseball bats. She assumed that must have been Jack's choice of weapon but she honestly was not worried. Rox knew she could easily break that guy verbally or physically if she had to. Not that she would, unless he started something with her first. She didn't think it was right to go up against someone first if you could easily crush them without a second thought.

Roxana didn’t say anything or even react to Tim's words; she just sat there as he spoke to her about what he was feeling. She still didn't really get what the big deal was and a small look of confusion crossed over her face for a split second before it turned back to not having any real expression. "Well...I'm nothing really besides a friend. You have no worries about your relationship with Lux or anything like that. For her I think the best way to describe it would be that I'm something like an older sister to her. Someone who she can come talk to and be close to other then you and Jack." Roxana informed him. That was the best answer she could give him.
