"Yes," Cody rolled his eyes with his own chuckle, "It's a delicate situation to be in for sure," Cody hadn't experienced it that often, considering how much he really avoided others-but the times when he had been were incredibly awkward. He knew it would be unkind for him to say anything negative about how the other was feeling but... eh, as long as he kept avoiding people he'd be fine, right?
Cody shivered at the thought of what telepaths had to go through, "It's definitely not something I envy about them. Plus, people would certainly bother you more to find out if someone 'likes' or not, which is totally an abuse of that power." Sometimes people, teenagers especially, did the strangest things when it came to love-erh-crushes, more like. Empath match-matching, what a joke.
A more serious mood settled over the boys as Franck asked why he couldn't be a people person again. As Franck straightened in his seat, Cody did just the opposite. Leaning forward slightly and hunching his shoulders. He rested his elbows on his knees as he looked up at Franck. At Francks words Cody shook his head for a moment, a wave of sadness and confusion sweeping through him, "I don't knwo Franck... I just don't think that I could handle it. I've been trying to be better but something always happens. I always end up touching them and it overpowers me," he sighed, running both of his hands through his hair before looking at the floor. "I'm scared."

Franck didn’t have Cody’s luck. He couldn’t just avoid touching people. Sure, touching them made their emotions more intense and allowed him to get more of their feelings, but he could still get a lot of information simply by standing next to them. It made him feel bad sometimes, because he sometimes got an emotion he had rather wished he didn’t. And sometimes, he had to deal with feelings that were so strong it was hard for him to stand next to that person. It wasn’t something Franck liked to talk about but it was something he had to deal with on a daily basis.
He nodded, agreeing with Cody about telepaths. “Some have to want to look in your brain but I really feel sorry for those who cannot help it. There has to be a lot more thing you wished you didn’t know with that power.” It seemed cruel to him to look at other people who had it more difficult than he did to feel better but it still helped make things less of a burden knowing he was not the only one in that position.
Franck felt the sadness and also some of the fear Cody felt before he even opened his mouth and he frowned, feeling sorry for the boy. He knew it was not easy but he didn’t seem happy in this position he forced himself to be. He didn’t touch the guy, even though he wanted to pat his shoulder or something similar to show he understood and wanted to comfort him a little. Not only would it make his sadness stronger to Franck but then Cody would get a taste of what Franck felt right now and there was no need for it. “It wasn’t easy for me too at first. Sometimes I didn’t even want to get out. But I think I’d be in a worse mood if I had to shelter myself from everyone. This isn’t me,” he told him. Cody was admitting he was scared however and Franck didn’t want to sound like he was lecturing the other guy. “I don’t want to tell you what to do but you can at least try. I got some meditation technique when feelings are too strong, to help me get rid of them. It’s not always working but it helps.” And on that suggestion, Franck shrugged. He wasn’t sure if that could help Cody but he didn’t like to see someone feel bad and be someone they are not because of fear. He felt the need to do something about it.
"Talking about Telepaths gives me a headache," he chuckled. Really, it was an unreal power in his eyes and really just blew his mind. nope, he couldn't talk about that anymore.
Cody didn't mind that Franck knew what he was feeling in that moment. It wasn't worth trying to hide it around someone like Franck. Cody nodded slowly at his words, "I... I know. I think I'll be able to get there. Eh, I'll think about the meditation thing-" he said smiling up at the guy, "this conversation really has been enough for the time being. Thanks for agreeing to meet up with me. This was... educational and comforting," he said. He almost reached out to pat the guys shoulder as thanks, but didn't.
But Franck wouldn't really mind, right? Well, instead Cody just held out his hand, offering for a handshake. That way, the choice was Francks.

It was a fact that it would be pretty close to impossible to hide your feelings from Franck, no matter how hard you wished to. It didn't mean Franck was not feeling intrusive for knowing it all the time. It was something he had to live with and try not to get the best of him. He could become quite the drama queen at times because of it, having mood swings that could make people think he’s bipolar or something. Again, it was something he had to deal with. It sounded so easy to say he had to control his emotions and not let that of others affect him but when he was touching people, he sometimes couldn’t tell the difference between his emotions and that of others.
He smiled to Cody. “I know they were kind of hoping I could convince you to explore the full potential of your power. But, to be honest, I can feel all the time what others are feeling around me and I can tell you it isn’t always nice. So I don’t really care what they want, you do what you are comfortable with,” he told Cody. He knew well enough the effects such a power can have and even if it had its advantages, he didn’t wish it on people. Especially if they were not prepared for it.
He understood why Cody stopped his movement before touching him. It was not against the guy or anything and he nodded instead, signaling this was enough to say goodbye to him if he preferred. “You know, we should talk more some time. Even if you don’t choose to go further with your ability. It’s just nice to have someone who understand.”
"Ey, I'm sure they just wanted me to actually talk to another human being. And thanks," Cody smiled, "I'll think about it. I think I need to get used to the idea that our power can be used for good, you know? Yeah, you know," he chuckled a little. No need to start repeating himself. He breathed in through his nose and smiled gratefully when Franck didn't shake his hand, that was just fine.
Cody pulled his hand back into his lap. "It is nice," he agreed, "But... I mean, maybe I could tag along with you to some.. I don't know, do you and your friends have game nights or something?" he laughed. He really wasn't ready to go around making his own new friends but there was nothing wrong with making friends with Francks people, because they were already okay with telepaths it seemed.
"I guess we'll catch up sometime soon," Cody said before standing.
((we can stop here or you can do one more if you want XD))

Yes, Cody didn’t need to repeat himself as Franck perfectly understood him the first time. As he said to the boy, he didn’t intend to convince him to feel everything about him the way Franck did. He was the best place to say it could be really hard on someone and quite overwhelming. If Cody wanted to keep his power to this level, he was not the one who’d tell him not to. He would however, suggest him not to shield himself away from people just because of what he might get from them.
It explained why he smiled as Cody sort of asked him to introduce him to more people. Franck saw no objection to it as he could get him out easily should he start feeling bad about the situation, since he could feel it too. “Sure, you’re free to tag along anytime you want. I better warn you thought, my best friend’s can be hard to handle sometimes. She’s lovely, but more energetic than a hamster who downed an entire bottle of Red Bull,” he said with a chuckle. He knew he could lose his head sometimes by standing next to her for too long, making him act weird on occasions. Cody might not have this problem unless he touched Frank but the girl could easily forget he was in a no-touching zone.
“Sure, see you around,” he said as goodbye to Cody, raising his hand but staying where he was, letting the boy go before doing the same.
