Typical. Just so damn typical.
Willow really hated people. Like seriously, she hated them. She wished they could all just grow up and leave people alone.
She wouldn't have minded them so much had they not ended up stealing her clothes. Granted, they probably didn't know whose clothes they had stolen, but the fact that they had at all was enough to leave an annoyed streak over the brunette's expression as she walked down the hallway with nothing but a towel around her petite form. She had been swimming in the pool and she could firmly remember that she had locked the locker, but even so, someone had managed to get into it and get away with her clothes.
Luckily, she hadn't left anything remotely valuable in the locker, and she wasn't one to get personal with clothes. No, what really annoyed her was the fact that she, Willow Leighton, the introvert who hated attention more than anything in the world had to walk through the school from the gymnasium to her dorm with nothing, absolutely nothing but the white towel barely covering her body.
She wasn't embarrassed about her body or anything. She did a good job at keeping herself fit and all, but she didn't enjoy the eyes. God, she hated the eyes. She much preferred to stick to the shadows and be the mastermind behind every successful plan. She didn't even care if she got the glory for the things she achieved. She just wanted to be left alone, and this wasn't being left alone.
The brunette tried her best to keep her eyes downwards and her hands grasped around the towel.

The Emory brothers were outside with it being a very nice day and all and getting in a bit of exercise and fun. They had found a Frisbee lying around and with no name on it, they snagged it and it was now theirs. Well there so long as they felt like playing with it and if they didn't end up board with this actual toy. Thus far they were having a good time throwing it back and forth at one another. At first they had used their mutation to make the game a little bit more interesting, but since it was the two of them playing it and with their power effected by how far apart they were, that quickly was a bust. When Casper had thrown it really far and fast and Jasper tried to speed after it, he went over the distance their power worked and could not catch it. The brothers having to group up to go run off after it and then back, vowing to just stick to normal throws while it was just the two of them playing.
They still made it fun, going for one-upping one another with a different trick or style of throwing the Frisbee back and forth. The two wearing a matching jean and button up short sleeve shirt. They had leather jackets as well, but since it was a bit warm they opted to tying them around their race. "Just try and beat this one brother." Casper said to his twin as he did a back flip and tossed the Frisbee at his brother. Jasper clapping and was about to catch it when something caught his eye. Something being a girl that was walking passed in just a towel. The distraction resulting in Jasper getting hit right in the head with the Frisbee, which cause his stare to break and rub at his head. Normally he would have tackled his brother but instead was running over to his brother and was directing his attention to the girl in the towel.
"Casper look! Babe in a just a towel walking past! Man I love this school." Jasper said, pointing even and gave a little happy jump into the air. No he was not being quite about his words so it was possible Willow had heard him. "We should lend her a hand, no?" Casper asked his brother as the two of them smirked at one another moved to catch up with Willow. Jasper on her left and Casper on her right, but the two didn't touch her or anything yet. "Hello there." The brothers would say together, as Jasper moved to stand in front of Willow. "The breeze must feel amazing huh?" Jasper asked with a sneaky smirk, being elbowed by his brother how moved him out of the way so Willow could keep walking. "What he means to say it, would you like two tall guys to block you from the vultures staring?" Casper asked as he removed his jacket from around his waist and was offering it to her.

Stopping instantly as two blonde twins moved up beside her, Willow frowned. Narrowing her eyes as one of them moved to stand in front of her, a faint sigh escaped the brunette's lips. She moved her eyes to the one standing before her, the boy with the lame pickup line, "There's no breeze indoors," she said dryly. "Not particularly, no," she said as she moved her eyes to the other twin. Willow looked at the jacket with a something akin to- okay, let's be honest here; Her expression was completely and utterly deadpan.
But really though, why would she accept someone's dirty, old jacket? Who knew where that thing had been - or who it had been on.
"Pass," she said, pursing her lips as she started walking again, tugging at the towel to make sure it sat right around her chest. It was bad enough that she had these two hormonal stricken boys leeching onto her, she didn't want to give them any reason to eye-google her more than what they were already. "Besides, I don't think you're in any position to call them vultures. Your brother seem to cover that part just fine," she tossed over her shoulder, "And you're not particularly tall either," she added. She had seen a lot taller people about. She was pretty sure some of the students in this very hallway was taller than the two of them, "Unless you're planning on sitting on each other's shoulders, which would defeat the purpose, no?"
Why she bothered though, she did not know. If anything, she probably should have ignored them altogether because responding would only give them more of a reason to continue talking to her. Oh well, it was too late now anyways. The brunette glued her gaze to the ground in front of her and lifted her hand to brush some stray curls away from her face; She probably should have tied her hair into a bun before attempting to walk through the school.
It didn't help much that she felt completely out of place either. Really, she felt uncomfortable like never before and wanted nothing more than getting back to her dorm so she could get properly dressed.

This girl was clearly going to not be so easy to win over as she was already stopping and frowning when they approached her. Her pointing out quickly that there was not breeze inside and Jasper’s mouth almost dropping open but instead he kept his mouth shut and had his tongue playing with his lip piercing on the inside of his mouth. He knew that there was not breeze inside and had more so been talking about the breeze from her walking that she would likely feel if she didn’t have anything under the towel. They were pretty sure she didn’t have anything under the towel, but they could not be one hundred percent because she could have had underwear on that were just a little difficult to see with the towel on. Still being in your underwear for some people was still like being naked and it meant that there was a lot of skin to see under the towel.
Jasper was calming himself for her cutting his tease so dryly, but then this girl had gone and rejected his brother’s jacket after he had been so nice to offer. Oh hell no, who does this chick think she is? Jasper thought to himself as he felt like he was on the verge of snapping. She was walking again and Jasper was planning on getting her back for that, already reaching his hand out to go and yank that towel right off of her. That would teach her. Casper was stopping Jasper, grabbing his slightly outstretched hand in his own. “Give her strikes.” Casper said in a lower tone but if the other girl was paying attention to them she would hear him. Jasper grumbled and held up his pointed finger for Willow’s first strike. The Emory siblings not giving up just yet on figuring this girl out and possibly helping her out in some way. “My brother’s comment was hardly vulture like; trust me he could have said something much worse and the two of us could be whistling and wooting at you instead of offering to help you out.” Casper pointed out as he and Jasper still followed along.
She was then pointing out how they were not all that tall and they could have sworn 6’1” was pretty tall for boys their age, but they did not meet many that were their age until they came to this school so it was not hard to believe that they might not really have been all that tall. She suggested something that Jasper was about teasing that they could do, but instead was holding up a second finger to signal that was her second strike. Casper shaking his head and Jasper grumbling but put his finger back down to one, all the while with the two not even hiding such interaction between each other from her. They had a habit of talking about other people and doing things in front of people with each other and had not broken that habit yet. She still did not seem interested, but that had not deterred the brothers yet as they kept to following her and more or less walking with one on each side of her.
“Let us at least walk you back to your dorm room. You don’t want someone coming up and yanking your towel off of you, do you?” Jasper asked and yes he was giving her a certain look as he talked about the whole pulling her towel off deal since he was just waiting for her to get two more strikes so he could teach her a lesson. Only reason he had not done it yet was because of his brother Casper who seemed to already be thinking of various ways to get the girl to open up a little more. Thankfully for having his other half to provide the distraction of conversation which allowed him time to figure things out. “We are Casper and Jasper Emory by the way.” Casper said then after a moment, figuring that if things didn’t go well she should at least know their names and hers in return.

Ah, the classical 'game of strikes'. Willow wasn't familiar with it on a personal level, no, but she had seen it being used from time to time. Though, usually, it was used by parents unable to control their children and too lazy to really do anything about it, or small children trying to find new childish ways of getting their way. Clearly, the boys was neither. Well, okay, whether or not they could be considered as children was still under debate, "That's true, but you didn't," she said, "So I can only judge what you did say, and not what you could have, and to me, what your brother said was bad enough for me to consider it as such," she added with a shrug.
When the boys moved to walk next to her, Willow let out a small sigh. Why did they even bother? Had she not made her intentions clear? Well, either she hadn't, or they were slow. Which one they fell under, she didn't really care about. She wanted to get back to her dorm and get dressed. She didn't need their help, she didn't need any bodyguards and she didn't want them to do either. She only needed herself, and she had been doing just fine with that as it was.
"Such as yourself?" she asked, her expression deadpan as she turned her head to look at one of the twins. "Pass," she added as she turned her attention forwards. Oh, he could always try. If he did, she would only need to find a way to pay him back again. Well, not that she really would, but she could always use it as leverage. Her being rude was hardly reason enough for the boy to publically humiliate her. Oh, she could report him for bullying. Much better. "Mm-hm," Willow said, paying the boys - or their names no attention. Was she supposed to tell them her name to? No. She didn't see a need to do that. They weren't friends, and they were certainly not close enough for her to even needing to think about it.
She did however prefer the more mellow brother, so when she opened her mouth to speak again, she directed her attention towards him and blatantly ignored the other brother, "I'm sorry; I don't think you understood me correctly," she said, pursing her lips, "I don't need- actually, I don't want your help." Hopefully that would do just fine. "I can get to my dorm - and protect myself from the vultures just fine on my own, thank you very much."

She did have a point there, one that the brothers saw as a bit of a stretch but it was still a point. She could only judge them by what they said and how she took it could have very well been how she would have taken something far worse to be said. It was not fair in their minds since again there were worse things that could be said but it was a matter of opinion. They found it not that big of a deal, while she did find it a big deal. She was a female after all and they tended to be a bit more emotional and sensitive to certain things said. That didn't stop Jasper from giving his brother a look as if to say 'are we really wasting are time on this one?' with Casper just looking away from a moment and going back to thinking. Were they wasting their time? Possibly, but he was confident everyone could be broken down and if not the nice way then the mean way.
They walked with her still, hearing the sigh which just had Jasper eager to give her a second strike but knew a sigh could not really count towards it. She had to say or do something to eat it and then he would be able to give her one. With how things were going he had a feeling that was going to be happening soon. Willow turned what Jasper said back on him in a way with that deadpan expression and then a pass. Yup, a second figure was now for sure going up and Jasper put his pointed finger down to flip Willow off behind her back while he had stopped walking for a moment to remember to do strikes and not just act out. Well that was strike two now. One more and Casper was less likely to put up a fuss of a fight in stopping his brother Jasper from doing what he wanted to do. "You know it’s not really smart to get on the bad side of people you don't even know." Jasper pointed out, catching back up and now moving to walk next to his brother. Jasper already not liking this girl now and was more so on the mind set of having her as one of those toys that they could break.
In his mind her being rude was enough reason to publicly humiliate her, let her feel embarrassed and upset like he felt. Not on the same level since he was not ending up naked, but this was Jasper and he was more so thinking about what he could do in the here and now. Reporting him for bullying was not even a concern of his and knew it was not a worry of his brother. Casper could honestly careless if they were reported for being bullies; they were not outright good boys after all. They were just being good for the time being while they settled in. Casper would prevent them getting into too much trouble, but if someone incurred the wrath of his twin, there was only so much he could do and would be willing to do.
Third strike. They had given their names and she only said a simple m-hmm, as if she was not listening and she did not even introduce herself back. Yup, Jasper was pissed and was already moving to go for that stupid towel around this stupid girl's body. Casper stopped him however and would later explain to get her back in some other way that could not be so easily traced back to them. They were pranksters in the orphanage after all. This unknown named girl did end up looking over to Casper, speaking him and clearly ignoring Jasper, which was just adding to the other twin’s anger. She didn't need, no she didn't want their help. She could do this on her own. "Well if that is how you feel about it. We will leave you alone." Casper said as he stopped, Jasper's jaw dropping in disbelief as he started to go on a mini rant to himself. "Good luck with your walk Miss Independent." Jasper said with a scoff and crossing his arms, leaning against his brother.

"Yes, and the same thing goes for you, you know; You talk big for someone who attends a school filled with mutants who have superpowers," she said, the corner of her lips tugging a little before finally falling still again. "You're the one holding your fingers up for strikes and threatening to publicly humiliate me just because I said something you didn't like, you know," she pointed out. "I don't know about you, but that's even dumber." Honestly though, all Willow had to do if the boy actually did go through with it, was reporting it to a teacher and they would take care of it, and most likely treat it as bullying, since she had clearly told them she wanted to be left alone, and yet, they hadn't listened and even threatened her.
Not that Willow was really scared though. She was fairly sure he wouldn't go through with it - or the mellow brother wouldn't let him, because she didn't believe anyone could be that senseless. In the end, what did she lose? Oh no, someone saw her naked. Boo hoo. What did he get in return? Weakest punishment; Detention. Worst? Expulsion. Was it worth it? She doubted it, but either way, she would win. His brother couldn't even save him from something as serious as bullying.
No, it was far better for the twin to play nice.
"Thank you," Willow replied in return; She didn't bother looking at the other twin again, even when he spoke. She wasn't going to sink down to that level. "And yes, that is how I feel about it," she added. "I don't know about you, but having someone approach you while walking around like this, isn't particularly comfortable," she said and finally turned to look at the other twin, "Neither is threats."
She had to admit though, that their relationship was rather intriguing, though it was obvious who was the leader of the pair. The twin she preferred, whichever he was, the mellow one, was clearly capable of keeping the ruder one at bay, which was a good thing seeing as he seemed to be the kind that was prone to getting into trouble, and letting his emotions get the best of him. He was so different from herself it was almost painful to watch. Which was probably why her words had angered him to begin with; She knew as little about him and the reasons behind his actions as he did hers.

"I talk big? I was being nice and was just curious." Jasper said, already starting to feel his anger growing so he moved to be behind his brother to more or less have something to hold him back. Jasper did know that he was a bit more on the act first and ask questions later and he did have his brother’s sense when they would switch places so he knew enough when it was time to get behind his brother as a hint to his brother to hold him back. As if Casper didn't already know that he needed to keep a close eye on his brother and be ready to use his power if need be to keep his brother from losing it on this girl. "I would not have to hold up strikes if you had just been a decent person from the start." Jasper snapped back to her words on the whole holding up fingers and the whole threat to remove her towel. He never said that he actually would, he just hinted at that someone might, he could not get in trouble for saying someone might because someone might.
"While she had been pretty cold towards us; more so you, your start comment did offend her, so saying sorry at least would be best." Casper pointed out and his brother was deep sighing at that, but understood what his brother was getting at. If he said sorry and she was still a jerk, well then he would like have a right to get back at her. Not the towel no, there were other ways to get back at the girl. Studying her would be the best way to figure out what really got under her skin and clearly being close to her was one of them and Jasper was already thinking up several ideas he would share with his brother. Jasper was about to say sorry but this no name girl was thanking her brother. Pointing out the fact that it was not really comfortable being approached while in her current state and nor were the threats. "I never said that I would, just say you should be careful in case someone decided to." Jasper pointed out and was gripping at the back of his brother’s shirt.
"As for it being uncomfortable I guess we could understand that, but that is why we offered to help you out. Still, you wish to do it alone and that is fine." Casper said, not moving from his spot and glanced over his shoulder to his brother who let out another deep sigh and moved to stand next to his brother. "I apologize if what I said had offended, upset, or made you uncomfortable in anyway. I did not mean it. I also apologize if I'm saying this without feeling but I'm not good at saying sorry." Jasper said, in a very monotone voice as he looked at the girl, but he had said it and he had meant it...mostly anyways.
Post by Willow Leighton on Jul 5, 2014 21:30:10 GMT -6
"Being nice? Hardly, and I quote, "The breeze must feel amazing huh?". That was extremely suggestive and unprofessional, and not to say very... How do you put it, creepy?" the Brit said, sighing. "I would hardly call that being nice, and your curiosity made me uncomfortable, so I suppose we both can justify our actions." She didn't really care if his feelings had been hurt. If that was all it took for the boy to set off, then he really needed help. She had every right to dismiss his and his brother offer without having to be afraid of someone threatening her. If he though otherwise, then he truly was a moron.
"I'm cold towards everyone." Really, it was no huge secret, but she was glad to see that at least one of them saw her side of things. "There's no apologies needed," she said, again ignoring the other twin, "I don't need them, and he doesn't want to say them." Besides, it wasn't like it was really going to change anything, other than the boy forcing himself to say something he didn't really mean and emasculating himself, and she didn't really care either way, so it was just a waste of both their times.
Shifting her gaze back and forth between the twins, Willow was about to open her mouth to say something, but quickly shut it again. Clearly, her cold remarks didn't get either of them anywhere and it would only fuel the emotional twin further and drag the conversation out more than what it needed to be, "Thank you," she said, feeling a little awkward about how the words tasted, "And I apologize for my bluntness," she added. She knew that not everyone preferred it, or even liked it. Sadly, that was simply how she was built and she couldn't really help it.
Even so, Willow very rarely apologized for her actions. She naturally assumed it would either throw people off to the point where they left her alone, which was fine, or gave them a clear hint of her not being the conversing type. Why she was still standing around though, she didn't understand, and it made her feel.. Awkward, which was a very new sensation to her. Her expressionless face changed into something akin to a grimace, or maybe a constipated facial expression (she didn't have a mirror, she couldn't be too sure what it was) as she realized this. She then turned around again, perhaps a little too quickly, with her back against the twins and started walking.
Why did people have to make her feel things she didn't want to feel, or even know how to feel? It was pointless, and it was a waste of her time.

Jasper lost it and just sort of lunged at the girl, so ready to give her the smack down of a life time. Oh he would show her bullying and put a touch a magic to it and see how she really felt about him after. He was behind his brother however so naturally when he lunged forward he more or less just lunged at his brother and was sort of on his back. "Easy." Casper said to which Jasper moved to speak into this brothers back because there was no way he was not going to be able to stay silent if he could not teach that girl a lesson. "Iwasbeingfingnice!AsaguyIpersonallylikealittlebrezzeandthefeelingofbeingnaked!" Jasper yelled into his brothers back, the words mostly muffled and run together since he was speaking them fast. A few curse words mixed in there as well. Caper just nodded to Willow's words about how they both could justify their actions, since that was the logical side to it. Still while it might have seemed like Casper was more or less siding with Willow, he was not really siding with anyone and if you looked closely he was still and would always be on his brother’s side.
"Ohcauseitmakeitsooomuchbetter." Jasper still muffled his words into his brother's back to the girl’s admittance to being cold to everyone. Well I don't want a cold toy. They are boring. Jasper thought to himself as he looked to his brother and wondering if he agreed at all with such thoughts. Not that Casper could actually hear his brother’s thoughts but they often thought alone the same thought process. Jasper really didn't like he now that she didn't care for his apology but just went silent and stayed behind his brother. Thinking now of just getting this no name girl back. They didn't need a name, they knew her face and body and that was all that he needed. "It’s not that he does not want to say them, we both are just not good at saying sorry." Casper pointed out because even if he had been the one to say sorry it would have only come out a tad bit nicer than his brother. Jasper was upset so it was to be expected that he was not going to say sorry on the nicest level possible for him.
She did say thank you and that she apologized for her bluntness. Jasper having to look out from behind his brother to squint at the girl. Was she just saying it to say it? No she was blunt and cold after all so if she was saying it she had to mean it. "We forgive you." Jasper said, but while he might have forgiven her a little bit, that did not mean he was going to forget. She could be nice to his brother all she wanted, Jasper would make sure that Casper would have nothing to do with her since they did most things together. She looked uncomfortable now, like she had said something that was weird for her as well. Her face expression a mix between like she was in pain or maybe it was confusion. It was an interesting expression to say the least that had both the brother looking at her and waiting for her to say something. Say anything, but she did and was turning around to leave. The brothers remaining where they were and talking to one another. "Should we go after her?" Jasper asked, sounding a lot calmed now that the girl was leaving.
"If we stay around her any longer I feel like you two will end up fighting." Casper responded and with that gave a small nod and turned to head back to find that Frisbee, Jasper lingering behind a little. "At least could have told us your name!" Jasper called out to the girl, but well was still angry with her so didn't want to run after her and his brother had a very good point. Jasper didn't care if she was a girl or if she was in just a towel, he fight if she fight back; possibly even if she didn’t fight back as well.

The boy's... Well, whatever it was he was trying to do behind his other brother's back was... She didn't really know that either. Standing her ground, Willow simply arched her eyebrow. It was almost a little amusing how easily the boy was ticked off, though... In a way, it was also very interesting. She didn't understand the feeling very well, but it was nice to see it first hand. That way it gave her a better understanding of the general human emotion, which she seemed to lack, or at least, to most people it seemed that way.
It wasn't really that Willow lacked any emotions, she just kept them so far pushed down she didn't even realize they were there. Instead, they were covered and masked by a logical kind of bluntness and cold demeanor that she used as a way to prevent people from wanting to get close to her. In a way, it was better that way. 'The best way to not get your heart broken, is pretending that you don't have one'.
"That makes sense," Willow nodded, "And I can understand it as well." She wasn't one for apologizing much either. In fact, she didn't really do it often at all. It had happened maybe only a few times during her sixteen year short life. That was how rarely the girl uttered such words. It was rather funny actually, and perhaps even a little pathetic.
When the boy mentioned not knowing her name once more, Willow stopped and let a small sigh escape her lips. She turned to look at him before pursing her lips, "Willow," she said before attempting at a smile, which again, looked more like a grimace than anything else. Really though, she didn't smile a whole lot. She wasn't even sure if she could - or even knew how to. It did feel weird. Really weird. "Willow Leighton," she added as she turned to walk away again.

The brothers both had emotions and felt the same about a lot of things. That was to say that even Casper felt a little angry with Willow with how she had been acting early on. He was just better at keeping a filter more or less on so long as someone was not really being a pain in the neck and just asking for the brothers to shove their fist in their place. The past was in the past now, apologies were given and both parties were going off on their own to do their own then. Willow was likely going to make it back to her dorm without a problem while the brothers were going to go back and play some more Frisbee until they felt really bored and would move on to do something else. Casper still found the other girl interesting with how she was so cold and wanted to figure out what trauma she had gone through to see if it could be used against her. Possibly to get her back or to get her under their 'control' as another one of their toys.
Jasper was still interested in her in the same way; and because she was hot, but Casper thought she was hot as well. It was that wanting to know about her and her good looks that caused Jasper to linger back and point out that the girl had never given them a name. Just as he was about to turn and catch up with his brother he heard a name. Willow. Then a full name. Willow Leighton, and then like that she was walking off. Jasper stood there for a moment before turning around to sort of sprint and jump onto his brother's back. Sending them both to the ground because Casper had not been ready for it. "What the hell?" Casper asked, moving to give his brother a rough head rub. "Ow. Ow. Ow. Her name is Willow Leighton." Jasper said with a smirk and soon his brother was smirking now. They had gotten a name, perfect. Maybe she was not all that bad after all. They could think on it later, now they stood up and moved to head out and get back to their game.
