An Intentional Run-in [Date: April 21]

[Roxana Strix]

Roxana was working on meeting her targets, having been advised to form a sort of close relationship with some of them. Well it was more of a mixed expectation in that area, which did make it a tad bit confusing. It honestly would have been easier for Roxana to keep watch over her targets without them having ever to meet or really get to know them. Yet some of them had powers that would make things a little complicated and it was easier to actually asses the abilities of a person’s powers for herself so she understood what she was dealing with. Erika Bellefonte was one of her targets that she needed to meet on a closer level. This Erika had a twins sister and she was one of the many children that were a part of the family that had built this school in the first place. Erika's power was the most concerning, along with her twins, but she was just going to have to risk it and see how everything worked out.

Roxana was waiting sort of around the area where Erika was having a class, Roxana having the girl’s class schedule and had worked out where it was in the school. All that was left now was to wait for her to leave the room and cause an accidental run in. Sure it was not really accidental since Roxana was planning it, but Erika would not know that, unless she read Roxana's mind. Yet Roxana was ready for that after having dealt with Erika's twin’s sister already. She had her mind ready to think of a million different thoughts and to keep them all over the place as best as she could. There. Roxana thought as she saw Erika exit the room, waiting until Erika was more or less alone before she made her move. Running into the girl and dropping her books that she had been carrying for the sake of blending in. That and she did have class later, but her job came first for the most part. "I'm so sorry." Roxana apologized as she bent over to start picking up her books.

The days seemed to blend together in a blur; Nothing really mattered, whilst at the same time everything did. Things were hectic and finals were coming up. Erika was already falling behind on everything and therefore she had decided on spending the entire day after class catching up; Even if that meant staying up all night doing homework. Truth be told, Erika actually enjoyed school work. It was a nice way for her to keep herself busy without going insane over her attention span being all over the place.

Exiting the classroom, Erika ran a hand through her curly hair. She didn't pay much attention to where she was going; She didn't really need to. She knew these hallways inside and out, though when she ran into something that felt like a massive brick wall, you can only imagine how surprised she was. Blinking, the brunette turned to face whoever it was she had run into and her eyes fell onto a blonde; A very cute one at that. ''Oh, no, no. Don't apologize. I tend to walk around with my head in the clouds, so it was just as much my fault,'' Erika offered with an apologetic smile. Crouching down to help the girl gathered the books she had lost, Erika pursed her lips and sighed.

''Hey, you're the new transfer student, right?'' Erika asked as she lifted her gaze, ''Roxana?''

Roxana did forget to allow her body to give way when she was run into. Having been taught how to keep a proposer stance so as to not fall and even if you were not into how to keep a stance that would prevent you from falling. She was supposed to be blending in however, so having fallen down or at least stumbling back a little better would have been for the best. Roxana was also a tad bit worried that she may have hurt Erika for a moment, which would suck since her job was to look after and protect the girl. Interesting turn of events and a twist that would be. Already Erika was vastly different from her sister. Apologizing for running into Roxana and saying that she tended to get distracted. Even if it was not at all Erika's fault and all Roxana's, but she kept that out of her thoughts as best as she could as she made her mind work on thinking about Erika in the basic terms.

She is very pretty. Looks just like her twin. Well obviously because they are twins. Roxana was even making sure to think a little differently then she normally did, just to help protect her mind in case the other girl was reading it. "Thank you so much." Roxana said giving her best friendly smile, thanks to having to take acting and being good at telling a lie. Gathering up her books and holding out her hand to take the ones that Erika had picked up for her. "I am...how did you know?" Roxana asked, only a small hint of worry in her voice. "Are transfers not common here, or is it the whole what time of year I'm transferring over or my hair?" Roxana asked giving a small chuckle, staying in 'character'. Rox’s mind started to wonder off a little. Already taking notes and wondering if it was just by chance that Erika knew who she was. "You are...Erika Bellefonte right?" Roxana asked, sounding as if she did not know when she knew a lot about the girl.

Shrugging, Erika offered the girl a smile, ''It comes with the territory,'' she explained with a chuckle. Well, more her keeping a little up to date on who came in and who didn't. Surely, she could have done a lot better than this, and if she had focused on it, she'd probably know every single name of the student of the school, but that didn't seem interesting. At all. ''Oh no, no; Transfer students are normal. That happens all the time. It's either a school burning down or someone believing that Bellefonte is the better pick for academic reasons-'' It wasn't odd though, seeing how Bellefonte was the first and one of the best, ''-And no, it's not your hair. I heard the headmaster mention it, and...'' she trailed off, shrugging.

Arching her eyebrow, the brunette nodded, ''Yeah, that's me.'' She was a little surprised--- Okay, not really. Telling the two girls apart wasn't exactly all that hard. Erika was the sociable one who usually wore a smile, curly hair and fashionable clothes, while Elsa was the cold and calculating one with a deadpan expression and wore plastic bags. (Not really).

But yes; Telling them apart when you knew of the differences wasn't a hard thing to do. How the girl knew, and why, didn't even cross the brunette's mind. ''So, how are you finding the school so far?'' she asked with a smile.

That did make sense. Erika was a Bellefonte so she would know about most of the things going on in the school. Not that she had to, but some day the school would be hers. Or Elsa's, possibly the both of theirs with a tag team job. Or one of their older siblings, but Roxana was pretty sure the twins would be the likely pick for such a job. She had information on all of the siblings and even if Erika was the kinder of the too she was still talented and smart. Roxana smiled at hearing that transfer students were normal here, as she figured, but again she was playing a role of innocent and simple transfer student.

"Well Bellefonte was the first school and by fair could in fact be ranked the best out of the other schools." Roxana pointed out, figuring Erika knew this; but again, staying in character. There was a small eyebrow raise at Erika saying the headmaster talking about it and wonder if he had given away Roxana's job, but then again it might have just been the average family conversation for the Bellefonte to talk about. "It’s nice to meet you Erika Bellefonte. You are a lot prettier in person. Not those photos of you don't get that across." Roxana kept her smile, holding out her hand to shake the other girls. She liked Erika already. She was nice, sweet, and overall friendly with Roxana, no real issues with her to report thus far. There was a question about how Roxana was basically doing at the school; she had to think, for a moment.

How to respond? Maintain character or be honest? "I like it here. It's interesting and nice that pretty much every one hears speaks English, and lucky my English is good." Roxana said, actually struggling with the sentence because she felt like it was not really proper English or that she had said it weird. Now that she had Erika talking to her and asking her questions, she could ask some back. Get to the heart of her mission and learn about Erika Bellefonte. "Is it okay if I ask you a few things? Like, what is your all-time favorite thing about this place? Like, what fun things to do and what I should avoid, so I can fit in and enjoying my time here?" Roxana asked, figuring she worded it the right way to keep in her 'role and get information on Erika as well as helpful advice.

   ''Ah, yeah,'' Erika nodded, ''Considering how it founded all the other schools, I guess you could call Bellefonte the mother-school,'' Erika chuckled. It was no secret that Bellefonte was the first of its kind, and that it was also in charge (More or less) of the rest. Sure, the different schools had their different ways of teaching and stuff, but that didn't change the fact that once Bellefonte put out the word of something changing, it was usually followed by the rest. Maybe that was why the Bellefonte children were considered royalty? In a sense, they controlled all the different schools which had the majority of teenage mutants under their 'control'. Smiling at the blonde's comment, Erika shrugged. ''Thank you.'' She got that a lot, actually. Which was kind of funny, especially when people (Mostly Elsa) claimed that Erika was the prettier. They were identical. It was nearly impossible. Unless it had something to do with attitude.

   Nodding, Erika pursed her lips before smiling. The girl seemed nice, but again, so did most people to Erika. She was far too naive for her own good. ''Even if it wasn't, I'm sure one of the language teachers could have helped you, especially since we allow students from all over the world to transfer. Would have been a little stupid if we couldn't tell what they were saying,'' Erika chuckled. Besides, Erika was bad at noticing accents and the like; Maybe it was because she didn't really care about things like that, or maybe she was too preoccupied with other thoughts. Did it really matter? Probably not.

   ''Honestly?'' Erika asked and ran her hand through her hair, ''Well, my favorite thing... The people,'' she said with a quick nod. Sure, there was a lot of people she didn't like, but the majority of them were both interesting and fun to be around. ''You should avoid Ellen Banks,'' Erika replied with a shrug, ''She is one of those people who have no qualms about using her hypnotic ability for her own use.'' Hey, it was better to be honest right off the bat, right? People needed to know what Ellen was able to do, before falling victim to her sweet words and disgusting personality. ''As for what's fun to do, I think that depends on what you like doing on a regular basis. The school offers a lot of clubs, and we have a lot of free time to explore other activities as well.''

“Indeed. You must feel proud to carry the blood line that started all of this for every kid and adult out there who is a mutant.” Roxana said and was actually meaning her words since she did have respect for the Bellefonte family. Sure she had a job to look after them, but that didn’t mean that she could not admire them as well in such a way. The Bellefonte children had yet to do something great yet, but by keeping their blood line going and at least one of them looking after the school was enough in a way. Keeping the Bellefonte blood going and having them look after the school as well as the others insured the generation of mutants would always have a place to go to learn to train in their powers and blend in with everyone else. Roxana gave a small bow of her head at Erika’s thanks to her complement. “Just being honest Miss Bellefonte, unless you prefer Erika that is.” Roxana said keeping her friendly smile, liking Erika for sure because of her kinder nature compared to Elsa. She still liked them both either way in their own ways.

“That’s true and this school has been very welcoming and I have heard good things other transfer students have said about this place.” Roxana said, knowing a few tales of Bellefonte Academy from people she had met that worked at her school before here and just from her job. Erika seemed friendly either way or very accepting of Roxana. It was a…breath of fresh air in a way to meet a girl such like this. One of those princesses a knight would be happy to lay their life down for. Not that Roxana had much of a choice on that matter, but she still could see herself coming to enjoy looking after Roxana. Erika ran a hand through her hair and had Roxana messing with her own. Enjoying how soft it felt and tempted to reach out and touch Erika to see if the other girl had soft hair as well. She fought that inner temptation of her real personality as she focused on Erika’s words. Avoid Ellen Banks. Roxana could not help but to have a small smile and had an inner chuckling going on. If only Erika knew that Roxana was also assigned to look after the Banks family little girl. Roxana had to look after a couple of students and staff, but that did not mean that all of them actually knew they were being watched, which meant she was doing her job right.

Erika enjoyed the people at the school; interesting. Then the words that Roxana expected about finding the things you liked to do since the school had a lot of clubs and things to offer. Roxana didn’t get the answer she was actually seeking. She wanted to know what sort of things Erika enjoyed to do. Sure she could follow the girl around and find out, but it made her job easier if Erika just told her. “I’ll keep that in mind then. Thank you.” Roxana said, still thankful for the advice of course, even if she already knew everything other than Erika’s views on Ellen, but she had it now. “What do you like to do personal?” Roxana asked, which was the heart of what she seeking to get out of Erika as he mind wondered again to what she could make this other princess of Bellefonte Academy.

A sheepish smile formed on the brunette's lips before she shrugged, ''I don't know about that,'' she said silently. It wasn't exactly a topic she wanted to get into. Not with someone she didn't know. ''I suppose,'' she added quickly. No, being part of this family was not all it was cracked up to be. It came with far too much responsibility, and restrictions; Both which the telekinetic could do better without. ''Erika's just fine,'' she said, this time offering the girl a genuine smile. As much as she adored the school and her siblings, being called 'Ms. Bellefonte' just didn't sit right with her. She was far too young to be called something so seemingly formal.

Grimacing a little, Erika licked her lower lip before shrugging. ''Mmm,'' she began and folded her arms across her chest. ''I enjoy sports; Mainly working out for the sake of working out. I also love being around my friends.'' Truth be told, Erika didn't have a whole lot hobbies which she enjoyed doing; Most of them were forced, and the one thing she did enjoy, few people knew about, and she sort of preferred to keep her art under the radar. It was too personal. ''Other than that? I guess I enjoy watching movies,'' she laughed. ''What about yourself?''

Ah, I understand. Roxana thought to herself, now pretty much understanding how Erika was thinking on the whole topic based upon that sheepish smile and her choice of words. Roxana was not surprised; Elsa herself said that not all of the Bellefonte children wanted to live up to the name. It was a large name, big shoes to fill, and Roxana understood fully what it was like to hold such responsibilities because of the blood you carried in your veins and your last name. She was a Strix after all. A supposed was quickly added, but Roxana still had her understanding of Erika and she was pleased that this seemed like it was going to be much easier than it was with a few of her other targets. Erika seemed to be free to letting out her feelings or at least was not fully hiding them. Roxana could not be sure just yet, more observation was going to be collected and either way she would drop the subject since Erika didn't look like she wanted to talk about it.

"Alright, Erika it is." Roxana said giving a nod of understanding, honestly preferring to call people of importance by their last name. Still she understood Erika's desire to not just be called by her last name, even more so since she was not the only Bellefonte out there. A grimace and a licking of a lower lip, Roxana's eyes were pretty much locked on watching every bit of action or slight movement that Erika did. No, she made sure not to stare and to not make it obvious that she was in fact observing Erika in a way to read her body language letter. There was nothing illegal about that. Sports, working out, and being with her friends. Like a typical teenager, only part missing is the whole 'love being with my boyfriend' words. "I didn't take you for the sports kind of girl." Roxana said with a small chuckle, yes she knew all the clubs Erika was in, but even with that knowledge she didn't originally think Erika the sporty type.

Erika enjoyed movies as well, Roxana tucked that little bit of info away as the question was asked back to her. That was the only problem with asking a question, people who had manners tended to ask the same question back. It was good because it made conversation and also proved that Erika had manners so Roxana was not bother by it. Going with being honest this time since it would not hurt. "I enjoy all thinks artistic. Music, drama, and the typical drawing and painting things." Roxana said with a smile as she messed a little with her soft hair. "Crystal art as well. If you like I could make you something." Roxana offered, but even that was a way of getting to know Erika better.

Laughing, Erika nodded, ''Yeah, me either,'' she said, grinning. ''It was more or less a decision made by my mother, and I sort of enjoyed it, so I continued. Besides, I'm the kind of person who can't sit still for longer periods of time.'' Ah yes, Erika was by far the most restless Bellefonte yet. Unlike the others, Erika needed to be in activity and busy both her hands and her mind with something, or else she ended up going nuts. Mostly, it was a side-effect of her power, but it had emerged and become a part of her personality, just like most powers did.

Frowning a little as the blonde revealed her interest for art, Erika actually felt tempted to reveal the same piece of information about herself, but she stopped herself. Again, it was something she considered far too personal for every day talk. It wasn't something she told just about everyone, and the only ones that knew was her family and a few handful of close friends. ''Is that so?'' Erika asked and smiled, ''Is that because of your power? The crystal thing, I mean, or is it simply a hobby?'' She had always envied those kind of people that had a power that they could use for art, whether it was crystal, ink or just hydrokinesis.

It was the dream power for anyone who had artistic talents. Or so Erika liked to think. Of course, she was extremely attached to her telekinesis, more so than what she cared to admit, but even so, part of her still wished she could use it for something besides getting the remote whenever it was too far away.

Roxana smiled a little more until her teeth were showing at hearing Erika laugh and explain why she was even involved with sport. Her mother made her do it and she just grew to like them a little and they worked well with Erika not being able to sit still for long. Roxana could understand that and relate a little with the Bellefonte girl. She had been made to do many things that she didn’t really want to do or did not look the type to do, yet with time she grew to like them, and still did them. Not that she really had a choice in the end on such matters, but it was still the same principle in a way. “So long as you enjoy it at the end of the day right?” Roxana asked, wanting to sort of get Erika’s view on this even. She wanted to learn everything from how Erika thought, what she did, and where she was. She could find this out other ways, but asking certain things outright worked out pretty well and was sometimes faster.

There was a small frown when Roxana brought up art which she also made a note of and was deciding if she was going to address it now or later. She didn’t know if the frown meant that Erika really did not like art or that she in fact did but did not involve herself with it for some reason. Roxana was not really supposed to enjoy art as much as she did, it was fine for fun but she was not actually allowed to take it serious outside of a class assignment or when it involved work. Roxana nodded to Erika’s ‘is that so’ and nodded once more to the question of it was power related. Finding it alright to tell other students what her power was because it would not get in the way of her job and by showing and telling about her power she was likely to get Erika to do the same in return. “My mutation is crystal manipulation so I do use it to create art.” Roxana said as she placed her hands together and started to form a small lump of crystals and showed it to Erika before covering it up again.

“What is your favorite small animal or would you like something like jewelry?” Roxana asked since she preferred to show what she could do then to just talk about it. Plus then that would check off give Erika a gift off of her list of what she needed to do in order to gain a little more access to Erika in a way. “What can you do if you don’t mind me asking?” Roxana asked after a moment, already knowing what Erika could do but she wanted to see if the other girl would tell her and if anything would be different from what she had on her reports.

''Right!'' Erika said, nodding in agreement. It didn't really have to be more complicated than that, right? Even as much as Erika loathed her mother for everything she had done over the years, Erika had ended up enjoying some of the things she had been forced to be a part of. She wasn't even entirely sure why she still loathed the woman; Truth be told, they didn't really talk anymore. Heck, considering how much her mother travelled, Erika barely saw her anymore, and the telekinetic was completely fine with that.

Leaning closer, Erika watched as the blonde started using her ability; She had never seen crystal manipulation up close before, and she'd be damned if she missed out on the chance to do so now. Small animal? Erika had never been an animal lover, and her family had never been the kind to keep pets. Her favorite? She didn't even know if she had one. ''Umm,'' she said hesitantly, ''I don't really have a favorite animal,'' she confessed with a shrug. She looked up to give the girl somewhat of a sheepish smile before shrugging once more, ''You don't really have to make me anything.'' Gifts always made her feel awkward; She had never been the type who enjoyed receiving them, though she couldn't exactly tell the girl no, since she had started and was nice enough to offer, now could she?

''I'm a telekinetic,'' Erika said, ''And I have this added ability called 'Psionic White Noise', which basically grants me the ability to block out certain mental attacks; Like telepathy.'' Erika had no issues when it came to discussing her ability. After all, it was such a huge part of her. She couldn't very well hide that, or feel ashamed of it. After all, it wasn't exactly something she could change. Not that she wanted to. Her power had become close to her, in a way. It felt like it was meant to be the way it was; That was how it was for most people, right?

Erika was leaning in closer and Roxana made sure to allow her to see how the crystals themselves formed in-between Roxana's hands. Starting off as small little shards and then quickly forming into a mass of crystals, a ball of sorts. Roxana found that always starting off from a ball made molding the crystals into some animal or jewelry easier. A square was sort of easy but she preferred to work with smooth edges in her hands at first and then make them jagged. An umm left Erika's lips and Roxana had a feeling what to expect. That feeling confirmed as Erika revealed that she was not really an animal lover. So no making an animal, that was fine. Roxana would just make something else. The question was what? A sheepish smile appeared with another shrug as Erika also revealed that she was not one who liked getting gifts. Something that she and Elsa shared in a way it seemed.

It was not as if Roxana ever expected anything in return, she just liked to practice her talent and already had her own collection so didn't really need them piling up. "I know I don't have to, but I desired to; however, if you do not wish to accept it that is fine with me." Roxana said with a simple smile as her mind decided what she was going to make now. Erika could say no in the end but Erika seemed interested in the power so she figured might as well show her it to the fullest in a way. She moved her hands a little as the crystals started to reform another shape. Listening closely as Erika talked about her power. Two parts to her power in fact, one of which was not on the list of Erika's abilities. It seemed now that her organization had slipped with knowing that the girl's had two part abilities. Roxana starting to wonder if her information was incorrect now and was going to have to write up a report on it.

"That’s really cool. Think you could show me sometime? Well the telekinetic part since I don't have the power to attack your mind." Roxana said with a slight chuckle, she did not have the mutation power but there were other ways to mess with someone’s mind. She held up what she made for Erika to see. It was not an animal but a fairy leaning against a tree. Roxana liked making art appear inside a crystal like this because when you would shine a light through the bottom of it then the image on the inside would seem to glow that color the light under it was. "What do you think?" Roxana asked keeping her small smile and held her hand out still in case Erika wanted to touch it, pick it up, or whatever.

Shifting her gaze between the blonde and the crystals, Erika smiled. She couldn't deny the gift, not when the blonde said something like that. ''If it's not too much trouble, I'd be happy to accept it,'' she said with a nod, as if to confirm what she had just said. She turned her attention back to the crystals forming and re-shaping in the girl's hands. It was truly an interesting gift, and it made Erika a little envious. Sometimes she too wished she could use her ability for something more - something beautiful. But she wasn't going to complain. They all had their powers for a reason, Erika was sure of that.

''Of course,'' Erika said, nodding, ''I don't mind that at all.'' With that, Erika let her ability off the leash. By now, the blonde would feel a tingling, prickling sensation move up her arm, almost as if her arm had fallen asleep. It hadn't, of course, but that was the best way Erika knew how to explain the exact sensation of the force of her telekinetic energy. It moved to the blonde's palm, lifting the crystal statue from her palm. It hovered there for a few seconds as Erika turned it around, ''It's beautiful.'' She shifted her gaze to look at the blonde again, offering her a smile. ''Very beautiful.''

“No trouble at all. So if you like it, it’s all yours.” Roxana said keeping her friendly smile even if it was starting to feel a little weird. She smiled yes but not really all that often. She was in ‘character’ at least a little so she could not help that this one called for more smiles. She honestly was happy to hear that Erika would take the gift if it was no trouble on Roxana’s part. It really was not since it was not enough to drain Roxana completely. If anything just a few strands of hair in the back of her head would turn black and that was not a big deal. Her major side effects would not kick in for such a small and simple task. Even more so because she had a lot of practice and did it often. It didn't talk all that much effort and as long as she focused on it she was fine. Sure she could do other things at the same time but for the quickest result was if she was making something and possibly talking.

Roxana was pleased that Erika was even willing to show what she could do and was wondering just what Erika was going to do to show off her power. She assumed that the other girl was going to lift up the art work Rox's had made, but she was not one hundred percent sure when she felt something along her arm. Like her arm felt like it was going to sleep and Roxana wondered if Erika was going to like lift her arm up or something odd like that. Instead the sensation worked its way down and the art work Roxana made was lifted into the air. Roxana had always liked abilities that allowed you to do something with your mind. No one would know it was Erika doing the moving of objects if they did not know her power. Roxana's power sort of was not all that easy to conceal since it came from her hands and if she wanted to do something big it required two hands.

"Thank you. It's all yours to do with it as you like." Roxana said as she really felt herself unable to stop smiling at hearing Erika's complements. She always had a soft spot for when people would complement her work. "Any time you want something else made or anything like that, just let me know. I also create art with things such as paint, pencils, and the like." Roxana added in case Erika did want something else, she would be happy to supply it. Wait, the mission. Focus. "Are you busy at the moment? I think it would be nice to maybe hang out with you over something to drink sometime." Roxana added, because one she did think hanging out with Erika would be at least a tad bit enjoyable. The other reason and the main one being to get solo time with Erika in a little more 'personal' setting. It did not have to be now, but planning for one would be beneficial.
