Invasion

[Roxana Strix]

Roxana had said that she was going to pay a visit to Elsa Bellefonte very soon and that was why she was outside the room. Making sure that there was no one around before breaking into the room. Breaking into a room was not really hard at all; it was nothing for someone who was trained like Roxana was. She knew how to break into safes so breaking into someone girl’s dorm room was not really challenge. Once in Roxana processed to look around, wearing gloves so that she could touch and not leave any fingerprints. Lifting up a few things here and there and making sure to put them back in their exact spot. She was tempted to leave a few small cameras around, but she could wait to do that later. Plus she knew that would be risking pushing one of Elsa's buttons...even if breaking into the Bellefonte twin's room should have been a pretty easy button pusher at that already. Elsa started this little war that Roxana and her were having. The other girl went inside her head, so now Roxana was inside her room and now proceeding into Elsa's bedroom area to get a look inside there.

She had made sure to be able to fire out the difference between the twins early on, even if they looked the same, had the same DNA, and power, they still were two different people in how they behaved. Granted Roxana didn't have a one on one with the Erika of the siblings, but she didn't think that she would be as much of an ass as her sister Elsa. She could easily be wrong, but at the moment that did not matter and Roxana went through Elsa's drawers and looked under the girl's bed and things. Just collecting information, any 'dirt' on the other girl, and things like that. Elsa had a sort of black mail on her, so Roxana was seeing to even the playing field a little. Roxana fully expect for Elsa to be returning at some point and Roxana wanted to be caught, grabbing a seat on the floor with her legs crossed. Eyes closed as she put her hands together and started to work on creating a crystal art animal while she waited. Roxana even considered giving it to Elsa, that would be a nice little twist on the Bellefonte girl.

Out of what was becoming a habit, Elsa did a preliminary "read" of her dorm. She never got any pings back, or if she did, they generally belonged to Erika or one of Erika's various friends. It intrigued Elsa that they'd shifted how everyone lived, and that the Bellefonte twins had gotten rooms of their very own. This time, however, Elsa did not get silence or a familiar ping. Well, perhaps the thoughts that she read through were at least known to her. She sighed, not at all surprised to find the thoughts of Roxana Strix in her room.

Elsa paused in the common area, her phone out and in her hand. She opened and closed it a few times, pursing her lips. Decisions, decisions. Did she call security to inform them that someone had broken into her room? Tempting, and it would prove to Roxana yet again who had the most power in this little relationship. Such a gesture might also very well shatter the very tenuous relationship the two had, and Roxana had already proven far too useful. in fact, her use had gone up when she'd finally been accepted into the Security Squad.

Elsa hadn't even needed to bribe anyone.

The "smartest" Bellefonte kept her phone out as she entered her room. There was no pretending that she didn't know that Roxana was there. Instead, Elsa's eyes locked hard on the girl. Her powers locked hard on the slim bodyguard as well, moving straight to skimming, just moving over Roxana's thoughts, not quite detectable... that is, until Roxana inevitably thought or said something that would cause Elsa to delve deeper.

She didn't see a point in being subtle to a burglar.

"Is there a point to this?" she asked, looking down to Roxana. "Besides the obvious 'look what I can do.' I already knew you were good, or I would've sifted through your mind to find what I wanted and thrown you to security already."

As Elsa entered the room Roxana could feel the eyes on her, but she did not bother to look up since she was busy working on something. If she spent more time focused on what she was making, it would not use as much of her power and she would not have to worry about her hair going from white to black. She did like her white hair best, or blonde, but she was pretty sure that her hair could in fact be classified as white. She classified it as white and so did many others. Roxana's surface thoughts where about the crystal art she was creating and Elsa’s choice in underwear, clothing, shampoo, and the like. Light blue eyes glancing up at Elsa after a moment however, since she did not feel the other girl in her head so figured something had to be up. Plus Elsa asked her a question and Roxana was polite enough to at least look at a person when she was talking to them.

"The point? I figure it would be clear to someone who can read minds. You went inside my head. A place that is mine. So I broke into your room. A place that is yours. So I say we are about even." Roxana said giving a smirk and then looking back down to her hands to go back to working on her little project. Roxana chuckled at the whole 'thrown you at security already' line. "You and I both know that would be foolish on your part. Plus, do you really think your security could catch me? Would they even try after seeing what I could do and me being added to this Security Squad?" Roxana posed the question, just to give Elsa some 'food for thought'. It was not like Roxana went all out on her try outs. No, she had just given them a taste, a small sample. She knew better then to reveal all that she could do to someone she did not know she could trust. "On another note, how are you?" Roxana asked, figuring it would have been fine to get some pleasantries out of the way.

"Revenge then? Odd, I didn't think professionals were usually that petty," replied Elsa, keeping her voice purposefully light for those few words, actually smiling at the last bit. The smile remained even as Roxana began chuckling, all but calling Elsa's bluff on the security. Her security could catch her, though the Security Squad thing was likely enough that Roxana would get off fairly easily. Elsa should have remembered that when she'd made the threat, but she allowed herself a little leeway, considering that someone had just broken into her room.

The pleasantry drew a laugh out of Elsa, though she nearly barked it out, shaking her head. "Oh, you know, all the stresses of the end of the schoolyear. Prom's coming up, and I don't have a date yet. There's also this organization that wants to kill or enslave me and everyone I know. Otherwise things are good. How about you?" Elsa arched her brows, folding her arms over her chest, again tactfully not pointing out that she had someone sitting in her room who knew most of this information already.

"I guess you could call it that. I like to think of it as rightful payback." Roxana said keeping her tone light as well. In other words it was revenge and no it was not something that she was really supposed to do in her job. She was still a teenager however, even if she was still counted as an adult being eighteen and all. She knew that she still didn't have all the right and mature thoughts that she should have, but she had time still. Plus there were adults out there that were worse than her, and this had just been small time revenge. Just a simple 'hey, I didn't like what you did so I'm going to do it back to you'. Or the whole saying about treat others the way you wanted to be treated could work for this as well. Roxana's eyes were watching Elsa closely now, but still focusing on what she was doing, pretty well at multi-tasking.

That smile did not falter or break even as Roxana made it pretty much clear that she was not worried about Elsa calling security on her. She would just escape out the window and since she wore gloves there was no real evidence other then what Elsa said. Even still, Elsa's words had power. Roxana listened and noticed how Elsa laughed in a barking manner. Roxana nodded her head at Elsa's words and then the question was turned back on her. "Well, I had to leave my old school to keep an eye on a few brats and adults, one of which like to be an interesting pain in my neck, I'm not really worried about said bad group, and I don’t have a date to Prom either." Roxana said in a casual tone as she moved to stand up, going to move closer towards Elsa.

"I will protect you from said bad guys if you let me do my job." Roxana said, giving a solution to one of Elsa's problems, then moved to hold a hand out to Elsa. She held a crystal rose that she had just done making to Elsa. "Want to be my date to Prom?" Roxana asked, keeping her smile as she held out the rose to the other girl.

Left her old school to keep track of several others, as if a girl Roxana's age wouldn't have been forced to attend a mutant academy somewhere on the globe. Bellefonte was one of the best, if not the best, of those sort, so as far as Elsa was concerned, Roxana's situation had only improved there. She certainly didn't care about the comment that had obviously been directed toward her. Roxana could say whatever she wanted; they both knew who still had the upper hand here, and it certainly wasn't the one who'd broken into someone's dorm.

Protect her, Elsa let out a little laugh at that: "My sister's on the squad too, so I don't need your protection," Elsa was tempted to point out that she didn't need protecting period, but she figured that reminding Roxana that she had a twin was probably a good idea. When Roxana extended the flower, however, Elsa's brows rose again. She didn't move to take it. The question made her laugh too, shaking her head.

"I'm sorry," she said, her tone mocking now, "you must have me mistaken for my sister. Erika? Same height and face and all? She's the one who makes poor relationship decisions." Her smile went tight then, and her eyebrows again had arched, daring Roxana to think of challenging that, or offering it again.

Roxana had more so been forced to transfer from her school in Romania to come to the one over here. Sure Bellefonte had its charm and it was a lot bigger in some ways compared to the 'mutant academy' that Roxana was going to before. The big difference was that Rox didn’t have anyone that she knew here, no connections, no bonds. Everything was from scratch like it would be for any new kid except she was a transfer student and not a new kid. She knew how the whole training to get your powers under control and passing the grade worked. All of it necessary to prove you could in fact live amount the 'normal people' without making a huge scene or fuss. Yet with the whole 'mutants being real' little news out there, there was no doubt that it was going to be a little harder for students to just leave the academy.

"She is. Erika Bellefonte. Leader of the squad even, but do you really think your sister who has the same power as you will be able to keep you safe?" Roxana asked, keeping her tone simple still, keeping out the small hint of a challenge that she would have dropped in there. Elsa should have known that Roxana did know that she had a twin and that Roxana knew just as much about the twins as she knew about Elsa. Roxana was not unnerved by this tad bit of information, nor was she really concerned because from what she had gathered from her contacts as well as the kids at the school. Elsa didn't take the flower so Roxana kept holding it out to the other girl and not bothered by the laugh that left Elsa's lips. "I do not have you mistaken for anyone. You are Elsa Bellefonte and I figure you would have a high enough intelligence to know that I'm not asking to be in a relationship with you." Roxana said now starting to chuckle a little.

As if I have time for a real relationship. Roxana thought, mentally laughing in her head as well over Elsa's words. "Your sister falling for a staff member and then with a student at the drop of a hat is her life choices. I could care less about who someone cares to swap bacteria with. She and you are on my list, not those she is trying to figure out who she actually like." Roxana said in a serious tone, making sure that Elsa got that she was not kidding. She still held the rose out to the other girl. "It's not going to explode or break. It’s a gift. You have gotten those before correct?" Roxana asked in a certain tone, the smile returning to her lips.

Elsa feigned surprise. "Same power as me? Your information, I'm afraid to say, is incorrect there. We share an element of our ability, but trust me, hers and mine are different," she wasn't about to say how though, appreciating that she had some information over the bodyguard. Though apparently Roxana had more information than Elsa had anticipated. Though the bit about not being in a relationship was uncalled for. Elsa let it slide for now, mostly because it wasn't even a relationship issue that she was thinking about: she was a Bellefonte, which meant that she had standards, standards which a bodyguard from a nameless Romanian family couldn't hope to reach.

"Oh, so you read the blog, bully for you," replied Elsa, shoving as much derision into the words as she could. This whole exchange had very quickly become grating for the intelligent Bellefonte, and she was tempted to just ignore Roxana and move to her schoolwork or something. It wasn't as though Roxana was likely to move to interrupt her. For that matter, Elsa didn't much care whether or not Roxana dug around here. Anything that mattered to Elsa was locked away somewhere. She certainly wasn't going to leave anything important laying out for just anyone to get to.

"While I'm sure it's a shock to you, people do give me gifts," she replied, keeping her tone level. She finally decided to just head for her bathroom; she needed a aspirin if nothing else. "I'm also good at turning them down. Comes with the territory. if you're that desperate to leave some kind of token, my sister's room is right over there," she pointed in the direction of Erika's room before unlocking her medicine cabinet, moving around to find the lightest headache medication she had on hand.

Information...incorrect? It was as if those words did not compute for a moment, only a small moment however. Roxana fully understood that information could be mistaken, especially if they did have a similar aspect to their power. Roxana's eyes were locked on Elsa as the girl seemed like she was about to explain the difference but she didn't. That didn't really matter in the end because that just meant that Roxana was going to have to find out. Do some more digging, pull up files, hack into some computers, and press more questions. It might take some time depending on how well things were covered up, but she would find out. Especially since Erika seemed to be the social butterfly of the twin Bellefonte siblings. If Elsa actually looked into Roxana's background and had connections she would find out that Roxana was not from some nameless bodyguard family.

They had made the information seem like that on purpose, but their family had ties dating back hundreds of years ago in terms of who they served and protected. Roxana's family was high class, certainly worthy of being with a Bellefonte in pedigree, but not necessary in job choice, since they were more so protectors and got paid. Not that any of that matter since Roxana was not interested in a relationship she would figure she had no time for. Certainty not with Elsa...unless it made her job easier, or her job had been to do such a thing. That oddly could be a possibility. Roxana thought to herself as her mind wondered off to a time when she had to pretend to be someone’s date on several occasion in order to protect them but to also blend in. Roxana gave a small scoff at Elsa words about a blog. "There are other ways for knowing such information without relying on Dirty Laundry, but she is useful." Roxana pointed out since DL was useful for getting an idea, but Roxana of course still confirmed everything herself with her own eyes or ears.

"Not a shock at all. I figure you have to get gift at least based upon your looks and for general birthday gifts. Plus from those you are not completely cold hearted to, however few they may be." Roxana said in a simple tone as she moved over to set the crystal rose on Elsa's bed as Elsa basically said she didn't want it and to give it to Erika. Roxana then proceed to follow Elsa to peek into the bathroom. "Medication to combat the side effect of your power I assume?" Roxana asked, not really needing an answer, but while she was here, Elsa might as well been ready to deal with her.

Roxana could've been from the highest bodyguard pedigree possible and Elsa still wouldn't have cared. it wasn't just pedigree, after all, it was presentation, it was attitude, though admittedly Roxana had some of the latter. There was also the whole very simple issue that Elsa simply wasn't attracted to Roxana.

Knowing without relying on DL, which either meant that Roxana used other ways or that she was pretending like she did. Either way, Elsa didn't really care. Again: Roxana had already proved herself to be competent, so Elsa didn't see a reason to do any more ego-stroking. When Roxana actually did something useful, Elsa would comment upon it, reward that kind of behavior. This? This was posturing, and nobody won a posturing contest with a Bellefonte, unless their last name was "Banks."

Not shocked to get presents, mentioning birthdays and people that Elsa wasn't cold-hearted too. "I do have a twin sister, as we both keep pointing out," Elsa shot back, though she was tempted to mention that she still got gifts from people who hated her. People often thought that gifts could help buy her attentions or affections. At the least they were used as a sort of offering on the altar of Bellefonte, and Elsa had learned how to tactfully accept them.

"Your deductions are simply brilliant. I can see why they decided to send you here. I feel so much safer in your presence," replied Elsa, taking the pills and popping them down. She elected to increase her skimming of the thoughts while she did, wanting to see if there was something there that might betray Roxana's purpose, especially as Elsa asked her next question: "Is there a particular reason you're hanging about? Or are you really that desperate for a date? Try dressing in brighter clothing; that's usually how species attract mates."

Roxana was not lying, she had no need to at the moment with Elsa having the power to read her mind, and she didn't feel the need to actually put on the whole ac. Her smile did go away however as Elsa again stated that she had a twins sister. Roxana knew that. She knew all of the Bellefonte siblings, age, weights, measurements, powers...well the powers part was going to have to be doubled checked now that her information had been incorrect. Her mind was distracted with thoughts on the rose for a moment, wondering if she should have made it a different color. Not for Elsa's sake, but just because she felt like a red rose bud was just too typical. She was half tempted to pick it up and change it's color, but that would be using her power and she was pretty sure that she had just a few black hairs in the back of her head at the moment.

Roxana did understand the whole give people who hate you gifts and it might change how they view you. There was a very high might because if someone really did not like you deep down, then no amount of gifts was going to change that. People didn't really change all that much, unless they actually wanted to. Roxana having found that many people didn't like to change and were stuck in their ways to a certain point. Not that any of that mattered at the moment. She had given the gift, understood that Elsa probably was not going to like her even with gifts, and that did not bother her. Her job had not been to get the people she was looking after to like her. That would have made her job easier yes, but it was not a requirement. "Your sarcasm is bit dry. Might you try actually dragging out your words and you might sound a little less like you are hurting yourself." Roxana responded in just a simple tone, looking at the other girl for a moment before moving away from the bathroom to go back to looking around Elsa's room, specifically outside her window.

There was a question that made Roxana glance over her shoulder for a moment before she moved to unlock Elsa's bedroom window so she could open it. "I'm keeping a closer eye on you." Roxana replied and gave a soft chuckle at Elsa's words about dates and how to attract a mate. "I do not have time for such things, and you already made it clear you are not interested in being a Prom date of mine." Roxana said, honestly not caring, merely doing it to solve one of Elsa's problems. Her mind wondering off to how she had to keep a close eye on Elsa because the girl knew too much. Roxana looked out the window for a moment and then looked over to Elsa. "Do you like animals?" Roxana asked, noting that she almost asked the other girl using her thoughts, but Elsa had taken medication and Roxana was not going to be a a-hole. At least not yet.

Learning more about the target to protect it. That certainly made sense, and it would make sense for a bodyguard to engage in such activities. Though they generally didn't get this close. Roxana had probably decided do do that in order to get Elsa riled up, and, though the Bellefonte was loathe to admit it, the plan worked to some degree. Keeping a closer eye, since of course Elsa had ignored the comments about her sarcasm, figuring that was just Roxana attempting (and mostly failing in Elsa's estimation) to score a few points of her own.

No time for dating, which Elsa could respect, though she saw dating as something you should make time for. If nothing else, having someone around to help share the burdens was nice, and kissing could sometimes be entertaining. Elsa moved back from her bathroom, instead going over to where she'd left her studies. She couldn't actually read or actively engage in anything, not with Roxana there to disturb her. Well, she could possibly check up on a few things and answer emails, if she could remember where she'd left her laptop.

"Animals?" repeated Elsa, not bothering to look at Roxana. "How exactly is that pertinent to protecting me? Are you worried that I'm going to pet a bear?" Elsa located her computer in its case against the side of her desk, and drew it out to boot it up. "I already told you: I'm not interested in dating you, which also means I'm probably not interested in getting to know you. you are, at best, an interesting tool, and, at worst, someone that I might have to get rid of at some point in time. We've both already covered that there's nothing more to get out of it than that," Elsa booted up her computer, listening as the high tech device ran through its startup procedures. "And I told you I don't want the rose." she said, again without turning around.

It was both a mix of wanting to get back at Elsa and also for the fact that she really was keeping a closer eye on the girl. Heck, if they were back at her school, she and Elsa would be roommates to make Roxana's job even easier. In this case however, Elsa was not the only person Roxana was looking after so it was not really necessary for her to be the other girl’s roommate. Plus Roxana had met one of her roommates thus far and found that she liked one of them to the point that she wanted the other girl to be added to the people she was supposed to look after and protect. There was still time until she would get her report back however that would advise her on her best choice of action for that matter. As well on this Elsa matter that she had been very vague on for a reason, not wanting it to be seen as if she had failed.

Roxana did not have time for dating and she did not really understand it, finding herself unsure of her sexuality. What was the purpose of it in her line of work? It was likely she would be matched up with someone to reproduce with and that was only a small chance. She was the youngest after all and she had a beautiful older sister and handsome brother. Roxana was the remains so to speak, so in terms of how her family worked she would probably end up alone. Roxana having accepted this a long time ago aided by the fact that she did not really flirt or know how to…say woo a person. "Yes, animals." Roxana repeated right back to Elsa, making sure to annunciate her words; pretty sure she did not say anything in an accent. Shaking her head and then proceeding to whistle out Elsa's window and waiting for a moment at Elsa went to talk about hugging a bear and then the whole topic again about dating and then the rose. "If you are not interested, why do you keep bringing it up?" Roxana asked, honestly curious as she looked at Elsa now for a moment and then over to the bed where the rose was.

"Throw it away, or give it away. I don’t not care." Roxana said simply because she had given it as a gift, Elsa was free to do with it as she pleased. Roxana however was not going to take it back. There was a hoot as Delta flew in and landed on the window seal, making Roxana reach out to pet his head softly. "Delta here is why I asked the question and it’s not really an attempt to get you to know me, but to start a conversation to get you talk which will in turn allow me to learn about you, which is the objective at the moment." Roxana revealed, giving an honest smile to her owl he gave a quick ruffle of his feathers. He had been sleeping, but Roxana called and he was a loyal bird. She checked his leg and saw that her message she was sending out was attached to his leg, meaning he had not gotten the chance to fly it out yet, but he would tonight, it should have been pretty good weather.

Elsa kept scanning Roxana's thoughts, but found them to mostly be dull, at least overall. She did have to admit to having some admiration for Roxana, if only because the other girl seemed quite determined to stick with her mission despite the mission obviously not wanting to cooperate with her. Didn't explain the strange questions or the like. Though an explanation for that soon quite literally flew in the window. Elsa turned at the sound, her eyebrows raising in surprise as an actual owl flew into her bedroom, landing on Roxana's arm, displaying obvious skill and training. There had been some mention of Elsa's insistence on the dating thing (which she'd just brought up as an explanation here, so she didn't see a reason to give that any attention), and more on the gift (which was repetition ,and therefore not worth mentioning).

"An owl," said Elsa, looking to the creature, "an owl is--- you do realize this isn't Hogwarts, right? That's in England," she looked at the creature for a few more moments. She could at least understand wanting to get to know who you were protecting; that would be useful for making sure you did the job right. Habits and the like. The logic of it actually made too much sense to Elsa for her to really argue. "It does appear quite well trained," she admitted, looking back to the creature. "I don't mind well trained creatures and such. Kittens can be cute, and those little squeaking rodents. Guinea pigs," she looked back at Roxana, her face impassive. Elsa did think this was one of the first times she'd said something to Roxana that was at least neutral.

"What about you? Is it just owls? Feel some strange kinship to them or something? They do seem like silent, looming presences," that wasn't quite an insult either. Elsa could be civil when she saw a point to it, after all.

Roxana had been doing her actual best to not think about anything important at the moment. Just simple things in hopes that Elsa would end up getting bored with the thoughts she was finding and would stop peeking in. It makes things easier for Roxana to do things without have to worry about guarding her thoughts as well. She was really good at multitasking, but when she was that meant her brain was being pretty active and tended to have to think about the things she was multitasking with and no other unimportant thoughts. Right now it was pretty simple since she was not actively looking up anything and her goal right now was pretty much being completed while she remained in Elsa's room. Keep an eye on the girl and get her to start talking and learn things about her. Even the smallest bit of information provided to Roxana was enough that could help her out later.

Delta's talons hurt a little as they dug into her arm a little, she should have had a glove on, but she didn't so she would have to deal. Thankfully Delta was a pretty large owl as his 'feet' where able to position themselves around Roxana's arm without digging into her flesh too much, and Roxana was used to his weight so that did not bother her. Roxana looked at Elsa as she repeated back what Delta was and then proceeded to make a comment that could have been seen as a joke. Roxana quickly picking up that Elsa seemed to like doing that. At least she had done it so far where Roxana would do or say something and Elsa would retort with something of an insult or joke. Roxana didn't mind at all however, she had dealt with worse from spoiled brats she had to look after. "Delta is in fact an owl yes. I did not get him from Hogwarts or England, and I understand that he is not allowed to be a pet here at the school, which is why he lives outside and takes care of himself." Roxana informed, getting that Elsa was not really asking for answers on that, but she gave them anyways.

Roxana listened as Elsa talked about how Delta seemed very well trained and the certain animals that she liked. At least it sounded like she liked them. Elsa's tone never really helped so Roxana was relying on watching the other girl and just hearing her words closely. "He is. I'm sure you already rooted around in my head to find out that he is one of the many Strix family massager birds." Roxana said giving a small shrug, but going still as Delta moved up onto her shoulder and rubbed his head against hers. He did enjoy how soft her hair was, plus he was higher up when he was on her shoulder compared to her arm. The question was directed back to Roxana and she did in fact have to think about it for a moment. "I'm okay with all animals really, but I prefer the ones who can actually do a job. Working class animals." Roxana informed Elsa and then gave a small chuckle, moving over closer to the girl so she could pet Delta if she liked.

"He has been the only friend I have someday, so I guess you could say there is a small kinship to him." Roxana added after a moment when she remembered that she had forgotten to answer that bit of the question. Either way whatever it was Roxana didn't take it as an insult so there obviously had to be a softer side to Elsa. Roxana was just going to have to do some digging, shaping, and molding. Like making something out of crystals. "Have you ever owned a pet that you felt a particular bond to? Also, what is your favorite color?" Roxana asked, getting two questions out there, since she had Elsa talking she might as well get some more out of the other girl.
